The Cliffs
This is where the dragons stay and relax while their riders attend the Gather. There is a path to go up there, though it is steep and the torches up there usually aren't lit since it's only the dragons.

The Beach
This area is occasionally attended by sunbathing dragons if the cliffs are too crowded but is mostly used for swimming and relaxing by people.

The Wine Stores
Located off the main clearing, the wine stores are eternally attended by one of the two merchants. The wine itself is kept cool within a cave in the cliff face.

The Dining Area
This area contains several long tables and benches for eating with the large roasting fire nearby. There is a table with all the food laid out for buffet style meals. An adjacent table has all non-wine drinks.

The Dance Floor
Opposite the Dining Area is the Dance Floor, with a small stage for harpers and whoever else feels like providing the music. The ground here, like everywhere else, is hard packed dirt.

The Camp
This contains several minimalist quarters for Weyrleaders. All other folk sleep in hammocks slung between the many trees surrounding the Gather grounds.

The Market
Here traders set up their stands and display their goods in hopes of selling to the riders and weyrfolk at the Gather.

The Docks
All of the traders and merchants ships are tied here, since they did not have dragons to bring them to the Gather.
It was late afternoon on the shores of the Southern Continent. Merchants and traders had been arriving at the docks and dragonriders had been blinking out of between above the coast all day long.

A large roast had been cooking all day for the feast that would take place at nightfall. The feast would kick off the All Weyr Gather, which would last for several days.
Kazra sat in her hammock, looking at the flask of wine she had. It was Telgar red, a fairly good drink, but not what she wanted. She wanted what most at the Gather wanted: a good flask of Benden White. But she was a bit short on the funds to buy one and no one in their right mind would trade their Benden white for her Telgar red.
White, red, Benden, Telgar, it's all the same, Kirath chimed in from where she was sunning on the cliffs.
Kazra shook her head and chuckled.
My dear dragon, you have no idea.

Iris was dozing on the beach in the shade her dragons wing made. They had had a drill that morning before joining in the festivities and she was exhausted. Ellieth had her right wing splayed over her rider the tips digging into the sand and her head was neatly tucked underneath with her tongue lightly touching Iris' thigh. Iris moaned and shifted in the sand. The heat in the south was unplesant for a rider with such a pale complexion.

If your uncomfortable, why don't you move? chastited the Green.
But I'm so tired. she sat up rubbing her arm. I need a drink. Some good chilled Bendan white I think.

The Green retracted her wing and the glare of the sun beating down on Iris made her blink back tears. It was getting late and still the Pernese sun had this much vengence. Dusting herself off Iris headed towards the festivities that were slowly getting louder and louder.

((she walks past Kazra))
[[I registered. I hope weyrfolk are allowed here. If not, I'll delete everything.]]

Aradia sighed as she was finally able to get some rest after helping Betta with the cooking. Washing this, Cooking that, Cleaning over there. It was all she ever did, all she was allowed to do, and she was tired of it. She plopped down in a hammock amongst other weyrfolk and riders and was sipping a hot cup of klah to soothe her bones. She turned and watched the dragons sunning themselves. The gold and bronze facinated her, as all she could do was dream about even touching a dragon, much less a gold. The domestic life was not the life for her, but she could do nothing in the eyes of Betta, her weyrmother. She would often go out and throw scraps the the watchweyr at Telgar and sometimes peek in at the eggs basking on the Hatching Grounds. At least here she could find some kind of entertainment.
Aradia sighed and pushed back a lock of jet black hair that hung on her sweaty face. She had tried to find a suitable dress for the gala event, but all she could scrounge up was one of Betta's old hand-me-down's, a little big on her small frame and stained with wear.
J'zen and Gandrith blinked out of between near the shore and soared down lazily until Gandrith let his rider down, asking him seriously, Do you have enough books? You only brought two...

J'zen laughed and patted the bag that hung at his waist after he had reached the ground. Actually, three. And if we run out, we can always sneak back to Telgar. Then he scratched a particular spot just about Gandrith's eye ridge that the dragon always loved before heading towards the festivities, walking backwards a ways to watch Gandrith settle on a particularly sunny bit of cliff. Then he hurried to the dining hall; the first thing on his list of things to do was find a good, cold drink. Already, he was sweltering in the heat.
As Kazra frowned over her flask of Telgar red, she saw a familiar rider walk by.
"Iris!" she said, sliding out of her hammock and dropping into step beside her fellow greenrider. "Been on the beach, have you?" Kazra spotted and brushed off a bit of sand on Iris' back. "I've been trying to avoid too much sun myself, it's hot enough here as it is."
"Aradia! You lazy wherry! Get up and serve your patrons!" A big booming voice called over the socializing. It was Betta, coming at her with a tray of various wineglasses of Benden white and Telgar red. Aradia had just enough time to jump up and catch the tray being crudely thrust at her, dropping her mug of klah in the process. She was about to address the big woman but she had already gone bustling away to more domestic duties. Glowering in the direction Betta disappeared, Aradia turned to the nearest riders. "Excuse me ladies, would you like somemore wine?" She asked politely, trying to shrug off the embarrassment that had just happened.

"Hi Kazra. Yeah me and Ellieth collapsed onto the beach when we got here because of the wing training we had this morning. This heat is unbearable. I'm off to find some relief. Care to join me?" she replied to the other greenrider from her native weyr, Telgar.
"Of course," Kazra replied, and then she saw a young woman with a tray of complementary wine. "I think relief just came our way," she said so that only Iris could hear. Kazra then turned to Aradia.
"M'dear, you should be off enjoying yourself. Here, let me take that" --she extended her hand for the tray--"I'll see that it gets properly distributed."

((I hope I did okay, wih my first post and all))

Akira was looking around nervously. This was her first time here and was worried. All she could think of was what her life was before arriving.

Don't worry so much Akira, just relax and try to enjoy yourself

'Your right Talth, I should be relaxing'

Taking a deep breath she walked down the beach.

~ ~ ~

H'shi and Zalth had blinked out of between and there feet no rested on the soft sands of the beach. He gave a solf, warm smile.

Ah, we made it, now I can rest my wings

'Yes, and I can rest as well' H'shi would have just dropped down into the sand and started to relax, if he did not see the other other riders.

He began to make his way down the beach, Zalth at his side.
