User ImageThe world use to be at peace. Relatively speaking, that is. At least, until they came. They, being the Dark Ones. Who are they? How did they come here? well, it turns out they were always here. Hidden. Waiting. Until, humanity was weak, and their last attack was forgotten, save for a few stories of evil. But those stories of the Boogy-Man were true. You did have monsters in your closet, watching you as you tremble in fear, waiting until sleep takes you so they can come out and feast on your flesh. Stories of bodies turning up after years of being buried. Murder cases that even the best could not solve. Of course they couldn't solve them. After all, how can you solve a case when the offender wasn't believed in?
So they waited, growing stronger in strength. Only a few knew about them, and even then they only knew of one or two types of evil. And even then only a few did anything to stop them. Organizations like S.T.A.I.N., who fought against the vampires, could only do so much. To those who knew the real truth, knew that we were losing a battle, that determined whether we lived, or was whipped off the world like the dinosaurs.
Or at least, that’s what it seemed. Until, They came.
They brought hope, and light with them. They were the dragons. They had helped in the past in defeating the dark ones.
Anyways, the dragons each had their own partner. A human being who would join forces with the dragons and help fight against darkness. And that’s what this story is. It tells the Chronicles of the Dragon Era, the age when light was brought to save humanity from being covered in darkness. The greatest time of humanity.
ETTING:
Modern time in without as much civilization and technology. The setting takes place in london.

User Image[H]UMANS:
-User name: blutfier
Character name: Ray Conner
Job: Rider
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Weapons: twin set of swords, with trident blades, and a pair of uzi’s.
Appearance:Ray, only with red hair. Ray is 6 feet tall. He has green eyes, but some people say that they seem to change colour often to a blue, or rarely a yellow.
Personality: Ray can be very comical, odd, or hyper as some say, yet can also be very serious and quiet minutes later. He often insults people jokingly. He prefers reading or writing books than playing sports. If he does play sports he prefers solo sports such as swimming or skiing, but oddly prefers to do them with other people. Ray can be smart, but often doesn’t show it. He prefers tactical strategies to brute force.
Ray is very loyal and trust worthy. When it comes to friends he prefers quality over quantity. It takes much to anger him, but if you do he holds a grudge for a long time. Even though he is a dragon rider, he hasn't actually met one yet. Whenever he hears a whisper of them, they have always moved on. So, Ray spends much of his time searching for other riders.
History: He used to be part of a secret organization, Fighting vampires, called S.T.A.I.N., until the demons came. He fought against them but the group was swarmed. He would have died, save for the fact that his dragon chose him when he tried to save his friends. He was surrounded by demons and almost killed, when the dragon fell out of the sky and saved him.

-Username: wild-tail
Character name: Kross Von Scarlet
Job: Saving the world
Gender: Male
Age: Sixteen
Weapons: A thin but durable rapier
Appearance: People he works with describes him to be witty and strong but on the short side of life. He’s facial-features is what you would consider ‘boyish’ and is pleasant to the eyes but not exactly tall, dark and handsome. Kross is a boy that you would want on your side, or at least far away as possible if you’re on his bad side. Kross Von Scarlet
Personality: Kross was what you would consider a natural born rider, it was simple really. Work with the riders or bye-bye world. Truth is he doesn’t care about the world being destroyed or if everyone in it died, just as long as he’s okay. He’s one of those few people that don’t like getting their hands dirty unless it’s absolutely necessary. He’s a very hard person to get close to but if you manage to get in, he’ll want you gone the same way you entered.
History: Kross has a mother but he doesn’t know her, she had left him on the cold streets after his father left them for another woman. Yet despite this he still very much loves his mother, when he turned eleven he managed to gain word of the whereabouts of his mother. So while joining the rebellion against the Dark Ones, he found his dragon.

-User name: Lupes_Darkness
Character name: Guadalupe 'Lupe' Marron
Job: Warrior
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Weapons: Katana, bow with arrows, martial arts
Appearance: {~Lupe~}
Personality: Sugar and spice and everything nice, right? Um, no. Quite the contrary, actually, especially with this girl. She stares at people with eyes that seem to cut straight through a person's body, hate and rage consuming her gaze. Her voice, cold as ice, slices through silence as a boat through the salty ocean waters. Her movements are swift yet deadly, leaving the opponent no time to blink. Though not associated with the Dark Ones, how could such a pretty girl be filled with such anger and hate? Read onward.
History: A quiet village, peaceful and without danger. A young girl, perhaps eight, scurries across the dirt road cutting through the town's center. She chases a butterfly, hoping to bring it home to show her parents. The girl's short, ebony hair flows in the light breeze touching her home. But that breeze turns to a wind, the wind into a gust, and in explosive fury, the town is consumed by demons and monsters of the ancient legends: the Dark Ones. The girl is trapped under a pile of useless rubble in the attackers' wake, injured and terrified. A passerby, a dragon rider, finds her alive. He discovers her name is Lupe and she's been traumatized. She witnessed her kin, comrades, and neighbors murdered, beaten, and some eaten by the attacking demons. The dragon rider took her under his wing, if you will, and tried to train her to ride. She was always scared of the dragons, so he trained her to fight instead. Unfortunately, the rider was killed in a battle when Lupe was about 13 and she was, once again, alone. Forced to forge for herself, she befriended a few people in towns she would stop in, but never stayed for very long. She entered small-scale fighting tournaments to hone her skills, winning a few and placing in many. Now 18, she travels the world as a freelance warrior to prevent other villages from being destroyed by the Dark Ones.

[D]RAGONS:
-User name: Blutfier
Character name: Archon
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Colour: Blue
Abilities: Flying, underwater breathing, water manipulation, able to vanish in water, and able to take water directly from enemies.
Appearance: Archon, but with legs enabling him to walk on land.
Personality: He is rather lazy, and loves to joke off. Whenever theres a serious moment, Archon almost always screws it up by doing something stupid. Even though he isn't overweight, His rider, Ray, often calls him tubs to annoy him. This has lead to many other people beleiving that he is fat.
-User name: wild-tail
Character name: Acier
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Colour: Grey
Abilities: Can shield his whole body with crystal hard metal, and can morph his limps to various weapons just as long as they possesses the component of metal. He can breath fire that can turn enemies into solid steel. He is also an excellent digger, since his body is far too heavy to fly he figured that moving under ground would cover his disadvantage. The ground could be made of anything but magma or water. Since he is so heavy and is unable to swim, he compensates by drawing metal deep down from the earth, and creating his own land bridges. Along with that, he can also manipulate metal to his advantage.
Appearance: Acier
Personality: He is still very young and rather premature with his powers. Since he is one of the dragon race, he is very powerful and wise but all the knowledge being contained in a young body makes him unable to control his actions very well. So as a result he is rather arrogant and rude but he is loyal.
History: Acier is very much like his rider, he has no family that he knows of.

[D]ARK ONES:
-Character name: Gabrielle Stelle
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire
Age: 453
Abilities/Weapons: She carries a short sword named Eternity. The blade is inscribed with ancient ruines that will cut through anything, even her own marble-hard flesh. For most vampires, wounds heal... not so with Eternitie's sharp kiss. Even the demons must heal at a human's rate when they come up against this blade.
As for abilities, Gabrielle has only three. She can shift her shape, to that of a being with tallons and falcon's wings. The black feathered limbs streach to nearly fourteen feet, wing tip to wing tip. Also, she can create and manipulate lightning. She can call it from the sky, no matter if a storm is near or not. Her third allows her to blend and walk through shadows with a speed that is unmatched by many.
Appearance: Gabrielle
Personality: Gabrielle has two sides to her. One is a truer, more humanic side. This comes out when she is calmed. She will act the same as any other human when in this state. She is quiet and jokes around with others, often making sarcastic comments. She loves to have fun when she is like this...
But her other side is darker. When the moon is full, or blood lust has overcome her, she becomes the violent vampire that she was turned into so many years ago. Rationality leaves her mind, and she is barely able to recognize friend from foe. In this crazed half, she will stop at nothing to get the revenge, blood, or whatever it is that drives her.
History: Her father was a revrend, though not a sweet loving man that they are often portrayed as. No, he was blood thirsty. Often, he lead groups to try and find vampires to kill... It was not the vampires that drove him though. Many innocent people were slautered by his hand. Once, he actually succeded in killing one, and revenge was saught by the kin of the fallen being. She was forcefully turned and her parents killed in a fire.

She was taught to control her powers, and was given the blade Eternity. With that, she left on her own journy, making her way across the ocean, posing as a pirate. She went everywhere from Irland to America - where she was 'killed' three times in the witch trials. After that, she went back to london, and there she still makes her home.

User name: Gothic-Fairy140
Character name: Grenith Tohrun
Gender: Female
Race: Dark Elf
Age: 350
Abilities/Weapons: She carries twin blades in the belt around her waist and also a crossbow as well at the back of her waist. Grenith has the ability to heal herself and others and can make other's fears become a reality. Also she controls the shadows that belong to everyone as her minions.
Appearance: http://www.gaiaonline.com/gaia/redirect.php?r=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.artoki.co.uk%2Fartwork%2Fraesha1.jpg
Personality: Grenith is a tough woman who isn't very kind at times at all, it is very rare that she is kind to anyone. If she doesn't trust you at all you will become her worst enemy and she will be the cruelist person around; but if she does somehow trust you then she will be very protective over the person and slightly kind.
History: Grenith was born and raised in London with her mother which wasn't a very good childhood at all. She was born very different, she had very dark skin and pointed ears, also she had small black wings on her back. Other kids had called her a freak and beaten her which resulted in her wings being torn. Her mother told her she was special but she doubted it. One day a gang of humans had broke into her home when she went to the park and came back to see her mother dead. She left London and went to America to live there for awhile wearing clothing so that no one would see her pointed ears or torn wings. After awhile she decided to head back to London to stay there for awhile.

Personality: She seems to be a sweet loving girl who cares for others, but
do not be deceived by her looks. For inside she is a heartless monster who
has drawn many at sea to their deaths. Her voice is almost as compared to
the Sirens, in the Greek legends, but do not be drawn in by her nature.
History: Aquarthica was a great guardian in the city of Atlantis. There she
watched over the city, and would grant her people with an abundance of
fresh water, and rains to grow their crops. But then it happened, the day
Atlantis was destroyed. Her home, her people, everything was destroyed.
Everything was gone. With no home, and no people, Aquarthica cried a
great cry. Her tears created a worldwide flood that wiped out most of the world,
but created the oceans, lakes, and other bodies of water in the process.
After many years of sadness, she was approached by a shadow that
promised her that it would help her get her people and her land back
if she joined the dark ones. She agreed and was given the power
to disguise herself in order to gain access into other people's hearts.

Then it waited for the second coming of evil, and then it began to climb the high walls until it arrived at the top.

A bell dinged from an opened door, a young woman emerging from the cafe with a styrofoam cup. Her black hair pulled back into a high ponytail, her stance and gaze tough and letting off a 'back-off' vibe. Lupe shrugged slightly for no reason, brushing back a part of her bangs that hung in her copper eyes. It's a tad humid today... Noting this, she rolled up the sleeves of her trench coat, the flowing fabric giving her a commanding impression. Her ripped jeans, covering leather-trimmed sneakers, were bejeweled with multi-colored stones and beads. It'll get colder as the day goes on... it always does when I'm around.
Gabrielle was awake, even though the sun was up. She did not often sleep, and could never force her eyes shut when her stomach craved blood, and her fangs pounded with the need to sink themselves into the flesh of someone's neck. She looked out the window of her dark apartment, and then put a black hoodie over her shirt before walking outside.

The day was warm and most were wearing short sleeves today, but she did not mind the extra clothes that she wore. She could not feel the heat, anyway. Her hood was up, more than shadowing her face. The hood had extra length to it, so no sun could get in at all unless someone managed to take it off. In her four hundred... something years, that had never happened. Still... she stuck to the shadows of buildings and trees. They felt safer... more like the death that she had come to know and befriend.

Her eyes were a glazed red as she watched the people go about their business. Most vampires didn't attack durring the day. Most of them had good reasons for it, too... but Gabrielle had found that if you didn't mind the extra clothes, it was far easier to snagg a meal. No one suspected that a vampire would venture out durring the day... and she used that to her greatest advantage. Reaching out a gloved hand, she grabbed the arm of a youth, tugging him into the ally. The man followed dumbly, paralized by her hypmotizing gaze.

Men were easy to kill, she had found. They fell easily for the seductive words that she let loose from her mouth, and most were more than OK with letting a strange girl kiss their neck. And she was doing just that. All an act. By the time the poor guy had realized his death trap, her fangs had already peirced his flesh and most of his life blood had already abandon him. She relished the feel of the sweet fluid as it slid down her throat, only pulling away when the boy stirred no more.

She tossed him aside, fixed her hood, and walked towards the streets once more. Her blood lust was sated for now, and the calm rashonality of her humanic mind took over. She crammed her hands in her pockets and walked briskly down the street, making eye contact with no one.

((Time for ya'll's Spanish lesson!!!!! mrgreen
cafe helado is iced coffee
burro is basically a*****e
Oscuritos is Darkies or, more accurately, 'little darks'))

Lupe, flicking her bangs from her face, began a walk down the busy sidewalk. Her eyes remained forward on her path, as if she knew where she was headed. She brought the cup of coffee to her lips, sipping at the hot liquid. I should've splurged on cafe helado...

She adjusted her coat, unbuttoning the one fastened button to let the coat tails flow as she walked. A man bumped into her shoulder purposely, almost spilling her coffee. "Watch it, burro!" she growled, swishing her coat intentionally to reveal a sheathed katana and retracted bow. Using her eyes, she communicated to him that she wouldn't be messed with. He cringed a bit and scurried away, Lupe returning to her walk as if nothing occurred.

I hate that reflex... I already gave away my position... She sipped at the coffee again, which was still too hot. Her eyes verted to the sky, squinting at the bright sun. The Oscuritos hide anywhere and everywhere... I could be attacked by anyone... of course... She shifted the paper cozy on the cup, preventing her already-injured palm from being scalded. ...That little incident might get me some work. Under her glove was a wrapping of gauze around her hand, covering a nasty cut she received from a demon encounter a few weeks prior. It still hadn't healed.
Acier stared up at Kross, it had been only a half a decade of a partnership and the man being in constant danger worried him. Even if the dragon was older, he depended on Kross far more than the dragon would care to tell. The last resistance attack had placed Kross face-to-face with the Boogy Man, the encounter had been one that both wished to forget. The so-called myth of the scary Man from the night was nothing as so pleasant as most describes him to be, infact a nightmare would’ve been putting it the nice way. Frowning Acier snapped his jaw, his rider cocked an eyebrow before asking “Hey what’s the matter?”
The metal-scaled lizard flicked his tail, it made a loud smacking sound. It was obvious the dragon wasn’t in a cheery mood, and Kross being the indifferent person he was did not press on the matter. “It’s you.”
Kross stared blankly back at his partner, even with him being just him, a normal, everyday ordinary boy, that has a dragon. The white-haired boy smirked, “What worried?” His turquiose eyes glimmer with amusement and that’s all it takes for his charming friend to deny all emotions of care. Yet he couldn’t help but have his fun for once, “I’m surprised, I never knew you cared so much.”
Baring his fangs Acier growled, "Hey don't go getting a big head, I'm just looking out for my own tail."
He chuckled, "Of course, yeah I know you are just worried that if I die that would mean you go with me."
"Righteo."
It was weird, almost looking a mirror reflection of himself. His eyes soften for a second, even after five years he didn't know all that much of Acier. Just knew that they were destinied to fight off some great evil, so he just went with the flow. "Hey Acier, do you have a family?"
"...a family, eh? Don't recall I do," the dragon felt a bit hollow just saying those words.
"I guess we ain't all that different."
Gabrielle stopped as a small comotion sounded from a sidewalk. Her lighning blue eyes slid over to watch, and a small grin curved at her lips, revealing one of her fangs. She could easily see them, but none of them would be able to see her... not her features, anyway. Her hoodie took care of that. In all black, and hiding her face, she looked like a modern version of 'Death' though without the scyth that was oh so popular.

When the ordeal was over, the vampire continued her way through the streets. She was walking on the opposite side of the side walk, but in the same direction as Lupe. Not intentionally, mind you. She was just walking home to her dark apartment, to escape the sun and it's deadly rays. Keeping her head down, and her eyes trained on the side-walk, she could pass for anyone from a homless woman to a teen who just didn't care about the heat... which was mostly true.

Gabrielle was turned when she was 18, thanks to a non-to-friendly vampire who had an itch for revenge. She still looked like that eighteen year old, even some odd four hundred years later. Sighing at the thought, she took out a key from her pocket and streached her arm towards the apartment door. Her hoodie sleeve slipped slightly, revealing the top of her wrist, and she recoiled as small burns started to show red on her pale skin. Cursing slightly under her breath, she tried again - carefully this time - and unlocked the door before hurrying inside.

There were two other vampires in her home. One was called Regan, while the other was named Joseph. She watched them for a moment, before motioning them into her living room. Regan she knew well. He had platnum blond hair that contrasted with his nearly black eyes. He was taller than she was, but she was older and stronger than he... as for Joseph... the aura leaking off him told her that he was new. Recently turned and out of control. He figeted constantly and jumped at every noise.
"Forced another one?"
"mmhmm... Accident. You know my Veleno teeth have a mind of their own."
She smirked. Veleno teeth were the two needle thin teeth that a vampire used to turn someone, and were very different from the fangs used to draw blood. Usually they were hidden just above one's eye teeth. They were coated in poison, and were nearly impossible to break... but some vampires couldn't control when these death bringers came out... Regan was one such being.
"Very well... I suppose we shouldn't kill him. He may be usefull in the future. You know where the guest room is."
She told them passivly before she sauntered off to her own room, where she sat, staring out the window.

Having others in her home was not an uncommon thing for her. They knew she didn't mind, and that it was a safe place, so if one was in trouble or hurt, they often came to her house... often hoping she was in a good mood. More than one of her vampiric companions had been killed by her when she was caught in a blood lust, or in the power of the full moon.

Lupe, now three blocks from the cafe, paused next to a brick building. It seemed run-down and condemned, the boarded windows and 'CONDEMNED' sign being major clues. She had stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, people passing by and bumping her arm. She didn't move, didn't even flinch, just stared at the building. Why the hell do I feel a connection to this place?... Her copper eyes searched the facade, which seemed to date back to the days of the Witch Trials.

A light breeze broke the morning humidity, ruffling her bangs and trench. A cloth hanging from a window broke loose and fluttered down to the ground. A faded blue-green, it seemed to be part of a blanket or a sheet or a...

"...scrub..." she muttered, picking it up and turning it over in her free hand. This place was a hospital... or a doctor's office... who knows... She shrugged, pocketing the fabric. Her trance broken, she continued walking down the side-walk towards the hotel room she rented for the night. She was always traveling, doomed to jump from town to town without rest. That's what happened to life-long orphans: they never stay in one place for very long.
Hearing footsteps, Kross quickly ordered Acier to circle and not come up the ground until he told him to.
“Well if it isn’t Kross.” Her voice was cannily familiar to his ears, yet he just couldn’t recall it. That was until he turned around to face his addresser, she was different from the last time he had seen her but those same deep sapphire orbs and wicked grin was hard to completely forget. Not to mention that scarlet mane of hers.
“Olivia, what a wrenched turnabout of my day,” he was sour to see her but nevertheless smiled in return. She was in the upper-class of the rebel, and he had no reason to commit any hostility…yet.
The lady chuckled but it sounded like nails running down a chalk-board. Her fair looks would fool a normal man but Kross had dealt with her before. “As the same to you, how about we stop for a cup of coffee.”
“Is the coffee for just me or you too, I know you enjoy blood more,” the very reason why he wasn’t so keen in her appearance was the fact that she was a cannibal. Personally the woman scared him, her disguise was hardly anything to him. He knew what was under all that make-up and perfume. “Don’t look so crossed, we are a lot alike. Both of us only care about ourselves and would do almost anything to get it our way.”
His teal eyes dripped into her’s, “I suppose coffee is fine.” His earlier pain grew but he hid it well, now was not the time to show weakness. Not to her at least.
He had never been so tense during a walk to a corner coffee shop. They made little conversation even after they ordered. Until Olivia finally teased, “Oh you didn’t hate me so much when we first met Kross.”
Out of her hearing range he grumbled, “That’s because I hadn’t know you were some twisted old hag feasting on humans to maintain your youthful appearance.”
“What was that my dear Kross?”
“Nothing.” He hated her but that didn’t mean he wanted to pick a fight with her, especially since his wound from the night before had yet to heal.
“So how’s life been treating my little boy.”
“I ain’t your boy.”
“Well you used to be-”
“No I wasn’t, you tricking me into some one-night stand doesn’t count, besides it’s not like we actually did anything. All you did was steal the necklace of shades and then ran off.”
“Oh so that’s the reason why you are so grumpy? Oh is my little Krosse upset about us not enjoying-”
“Shut up. That’s not how it was, I’m glad you ditched or else I would’ve done it myself.”
“Fine, then what is it?”
“Nothing.” He was getting tired of this conversation, it was just going around in circles and it was taking a turn he didn’t want to take. The thought of them actually being together made him cringe in disgust, that was one of the few things he didn’t regret in his life. “Well this was nice, but I really got to run.”
“We’ll meet again Kross and be prepared, next time it won’t be for a cup of coffee.”
He gave a weary smirk before hurrying away, into the safety of the woods.
Once out of the woman's sight, he called upon Acier. The ground shook before the dragon periced through the flooring, "I don't like that lady." For once he couldn't help but agree with the metal serpant.

Lupe stopped by the hotel, her coffee half-gone and the caffeine coursing through her veins like a sweet exilir. I don't wanna be pinned inside today... She smirked, hopping slightly on her toes. With a final hop, she broke into a sprinter's jog towards the edge of town. Her feet hitting concrete, the wind through her hair, she wanted more. Her legs automatically shifted into a higher gear, the rest of her body abliging. At a 90 percent sprint, she was at the perfect speed for a 400 meter run. She loved running; it was her favorite part of training. She always beat her teacher to the destinations, happily yelling Spanish exclamations of glee.

Slowing her pace at the edge of the city, she let out a whoosh of air as she stopped. The adreniline mixed with caffeine gave her an outrageous high, energy coursing through each muscle. Taking another sip of coffee, she glanced up to see trees, so many trees she realized she was in the woods. Whoops... eh I'll find my way back... She shrugged, walking over to lean against a tree for a moment. No matter how much caffeine she consumed, a sprint for over 700 meters made her a bit tired.
"Finally a day where we don't have to run off to fight someone. So what are you going to do?" Ray asked his dragon, Archon.
"Sleep. What else?" He said.
"You don't really do anything else, do you?" Ray said.
"Incase you haven't noticed, humans haven't designed things with dragons in mind." Archon pointed out.
"True. Well, I'm going to the library later on, so do you want me to get you any books?" Ray asked him. He may be to big for most things, but he can read.
"I suppose if you find anything on dragons that would be good. It's so funny reading about what humans thought dragons were like. Great flying serpents grabbing hysterical females out of stone towers and eating them? It makes me laugh every time. How do they do that? All that hair would get caught in their teeth. The last time I ate a sheep it took me a month to get all that hair out, and if those humans are anything like... Oh what's that girls name? the one with the really long hair and let a knight use it as a rope? Oh it doesn't matter. See ya." Archon said as he curled up and closed his eyes.
Ray attatched his sword to his belt, and left. No point in taking chances after all.
Soon after, Ray found himself near an abandoned building and saw some girl looking at it. She had a sword and a bow. How odd in this age. Sure I have a sword, but thats normal for a rider to have a melee weapon. I think I should keep an eye on her.
Ray ducked into an alley, and waited for anything suspicious. But soon, something made his shoes wet. It hadn't rained for a while so it couldn't be rain.
Ray turned around, and saw a dead body with two holes in its neck!
"She's a vampire? Heh. Bad day for her then." Ray muttered to himself. Being a previous vampire hunter, this girl stood no chance.
Wait... The suns out! If she was a vampire, then shouldn't she be burned now? I guess I'll have to watch for something else. Sigh. And I thought we got rid of all the vampires. Sigh. They're like cockroaches. They always come back.
Ray turned around, and cut off the corpses head, just to be sure that he didn't come back.
