Sitting at a crossroads at the edge of a mountain range, the Tanaka Family Inn has been a rest stop for many a weary traveler. Peasants traveling to meet distant relatives, wanderers in search of long lost dreams, samurai and ronin in search of honor.

Established 46 years ago by the Samurai Tanaka Daisuke and his wife the Inn began as a simple supply store named Tanaka Supply. As the years passed and the crossroad gained significant foot traffic the small supply store bloomed into an Inn.

The original store consisted only of the central structure. Over the first 10 years this structure was remodeled and expanded several times to better accomodate the family. About 12 years after the establishment an annex was added on the west side of the building and the business was renamed Tanaka Family Inn.

After Daisuke's death the Inn was passed onto his oldest son Tanaka Sato, who by then was a samurai just like his father. Sato, with the help of his wife Jun, made the business prosper further and eventually added a second annex to the east.

The Inn became a home and training ground for both his daughters, Ji and Jun. Recently, Sato has gone missing, but the business continues to be ran by his family who are quite capable of maintaining and protecting it.

The entrance of the Inn is on the south side. As you walk in you see the registration counter, usually watched over by Ji or the younger Jun. Straight past the counter are the guest rooms; eight in total. To the left is a closed off door with a sign hanging from it: Tanaka Family Only!

On the right there is a large room, with many tables and chairs, a counter that seperates the main room from the cooking area. Along the wall behind the counter many bottles of liquor. Next to the entrance of the kitchen a closed door leading to the conjoining annex with the stored supplies.

A large board hanging from the wall, daily specials written in chalk.

Welcome to the Tanaka Family Inn, where many a traveler has stopped to rest and regain his strength before moving on. There is plenty food and drink and supplies for your journey.

Rules

1. This is ancient Japan r/p setting. No demons, angels, unicorns, etc. No magical powers (this prohibition includes but is not limited to flying, superspeed, teleportation, super human strength, elemental powers, white or black 'magick', healing/killing magic.)

2. This is a literate RP, please post appropriately.

3. Fighting among the patrons is fine, though destruction of inn property will not be tolerated.

4. No God moding.

5. No killing patrons. (Unless a predetermined scene has been discussed in pm).

6. If anyone is to commit seppuku, please take it outside the inn. (The maids don't appreciate having to clean up the leftovers)

7. Romance is allowed if such is your inclination, but keep it all pg-13.

8. Not EVERYONE is a poor wanderer, not EVERYONE is rich. There is something in between....

9. Follow all Gaia TOS rules.

Its been so empty since father disappeared. I wonder if he'll be coming back. Mother seems so worried, but Ji doesn't even seem to care.

-sigh-

Its not fair that Ji gets to go to the neighboring cities for supplies and stuff, while I have to stay here and take care of the Inn. I wouldn't be any less safe than her.

Hmm wow, you've kept it a lot cleaner than I expected. The trip was really boring and just as always the people were exceedingly rude. I don't imagine father's come back has he?

How's mother? Is she still acting like he'll be returning any moment. You two should really stop and think about the situation. A man with father's skills gets up and leaves one day, he can go anywhere. No need to come back and be burdened with a family to take care of....

So you're back...you didn't miss much. No one's been in today. A few travelers stopped by for supplies last night, but other than that nothing at all.

He hasn't come back, but he will. I don't know why you always have to be so negative. So he's gone more than usual, why would he disappear just like that? It doesn't make sense, and leave mother alone, she doesn't need you bothering her.

-Approaches Ji, helping her bring the supplies into the inn. Always a bit suprised at how much her sister is willing to haul from the city-

So...what'd you bring me?

Why would I have brought you anything, you STILL haven't paid me back for that THING you wanted. You know, I can't help you spend your money on every charlatan that pass by.

If anything I should be demanding my money back now. I wasn't able to buy any of the things I wanted in the city.

-Sighs as she keeps unloading and bringing the supplies into the inn.-

-Having finished bringing inside everything she'd brought from the city, Ji now scurries around the inn delivering everything to the proper place; kitchen, supply store, storage, etc.

(A cooling breeze passes by the enterance of the inn as a white robe takes visiability at the corner of the enternace. A samurai phantom with red flowers on his shaded hat walks to the check in counter)

Narrows her eyes as she sees the man. Having encountered him once before in the city she grins and nods a greeting.
"It is five pieces paid up front each afternoon."

He gives them up easily. She is surprised but takes them and leads him to his room. Question run through her mind, did he follow her from the city? and if not what is he doing here? Still she decides those are best left for the morning.

After leaving him in his room Ji heads to the kitchen. There is a plate with a rice ball and half another, she grabs both of them and plops herself down on one of the dining tables.
