                Name:: Sophia Bridget Stephens
                Age:: 16
                Gender:: Female
                Sexuality:: Lesbian
                Personality:: Much about Sophia is soft-spoken and gentle, yet there is a firm base to her personality. She longs for security and solidity, which she hopes to gain through her intellectual and few ambitious pursuits. Sophia is quiet and reserved, but there is a determined passion beneath the cool exterior. She can be quite expressive through her writings, though no one has seen much of it. Sophia has shown some of her writings to Headmistress Price, but she never plans to let the public hear her innermost thoughts. Though she relies on the opinions of others to keep her in high spirits (which invariably caused her to consider the adults' opinions first), Sophia has never allowed self-doubt to rule her.

                With a life filled with tragic beginnings and progressing on a hopeful note, Sophia guards her past. She remains an enigma to the rest of the student body. She is clever, cunning, stubborn, and secretive above all. Sophia is a person of contradicting extremes, which appear to mellow to some medium. Sophia is sensitive and desirous of attachment, though she also values her solitude. She is intense in her emotions, feeling both love and hate at their strongest. She can hold epic grudges. However, Sophia believes in change and loves the challenge of transforming herself and others.

                Despite her inactive lifestyle, Sophia also thirsts for thrill and adventure. Sophia is energetic and impulsive, though she exerts careful control over her impulses. She prefers to plan (if rather slowly) before taking serious action. Her ideas can be forceful and dramatic, but Sophia has the mind to twist her whimsical ideas into a practical plan. Sophia has a gift for observation and loves to investigate. She is keenly interested in creative arts. Sophia also feels connected to nature and sometimes claims to know the emotions connected with it. She believes that humans (magical and nonmagical) have untapped powers of the mind waiting for exploration.

                No matter how much she tries to control herself, Sophia's hotheaded nature will emerge from the shadows at times. Her passion can create for colorful encounters and biting sarcasm. Sophia wears a lot of masks in her relationships with people. Some few will find strong emotions to be catalytic for removing her masks. Even with her best efforts to distance herself, Sophia can become too attached to people—an unlucky side effect of her strong and quickly developing emotions.

                History:: Sophia Stephens spent the first years of her life in a convent. The nuns cared for Little Sophia until the eve of her fifth birthday. A robin dropped her letter from the Institute right onto the grounds, and the nuns became panicked in the realization that there was a witch in their convent. In order to calm her nuns, Mother Superior led Sophia out of the convent grounds and explained how she came to reside at the convent. Her mother was a religious woman, named Elizabeth, who went insane the moment she held baby Elizabeth in her arms. "A witch, a witch," Elizabeth exclaimed madly. The nurses rushed to her aid and pulled Sophia away from her. As she was dragged to Bedlam, Elizabeth begged and pleaded for the nurses to kill the child, disclaiming the "evil, retched thing." Instead of acqueising to the insane woman's request, the head nurse contacted Mother Superior, told her the entire story, and dropped Sophia off at the convent. Little Sophia, as young as she was, understood all of it and asked Mother Superior where she was supposed to live now.

                Despite how comfortable she was with the concept of magic, Mother Superior promised to take Little Sophia to the Merryweather Institute. When she arrived at her new home, Little Sophia was introduced to Meredith Price, the current headmistress, and placed into her private care. Sophia enrolled into the small children's classes and started her learning process. She was an understanding and bright girl who never caused trouble with the teachers. Sophia caught onto new lessons quickly and, through her hard work and determination, achieved the highest levels in her class. When she graduated to the second level of learning, and after lessons were over for the day, Sophia would visit one of her earlier classes and would often engage the professors in philosophical discussions that lasted well into the night; the professors soon recognized this pattern and rearranged their schedules in order to fit in their discussions.

                As she graduated to the each next levels, Sophia became more entranced in her studies, especially those of strange phenomena. Most of her friends included the professors who taught her. The students glared and sneered at her quiet solitude, whispering small lies that became huge rumours. Despite her bad relations with the other students, Sophia has maintained good communications with the teachers and often accompanies the President and Vice President on important meetings with them; she relates well with adults, and the members of the Student Council understand that. She has also assumed her position as the Executive Reporter on the Student Newspaper, due to her observational skills and interest in journalistic writing. (Though her interests in journalistic writings extend more towards revealing all of those unsolved mysteries of the universe.) Sophia joined the Literary Society earlier in her time at the Merryweather Institute, because she is an avid reader, devouring each book she can find.

                Headmistress Price, Sophia's best friend and confidante, could never spend enough time with Sophia for her comfort; therefore, the headmistress bought Sophia a new friend—a small kitten named Persia. Persia is an affectionate, male Turkish Angora that will curl up at Sophia's feet while she is sleeping and jump into her lap as she is studying. This little kitten is just about the only thing that can distract Sophia from her studies—and Sophia believes that's the reason Headmistress Price gave him to her. She also has a small turtle named Myrtle.

                Appearance:: Sophia has been called a beautiful girl, but she knows that she has some extra weight to lose. Being the tallest girl in most of her years at five feet and nine inches (and even taller than some of the boys until their later years), Sophia has resented her height as well. Sophia believes her looks are average despite her height and weight. With light brown hair and blue eyes, Sophia smiles upon her face, which she believes is her one saving grace. (Then she berates herself for vanity, because Sophia never likes to be self-centered and egotistical.) She wears a small amount of pink lipstick to accentuate her lips. Sophia's hair is down most of the time, unless she is working in the gardens or she is attending some special occasion.

                Most of Sophia's clothes are modest and matched to her down-to-earth looks. She loves to match brown and green outfits. Cotton and polyester are her usual fabric preferences, because Sophia likes their comfortable nature. She also likes for her dress to be loosely fitted and showing little to no skin. Though she can be persuaded out of her normal zone, Sophia refuses to dress up for fun and will mostly only agree for Headmistress Price. She wears two pieces of jewelry: a cross necklace from Mother Superior, and two pearl earrings from the headmistress.

Ki Youjutsushi

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
    Name:: Kiwotsukete “Ki” Chouonsoku Youjutsushi
    Age:: 16
    Gender:: Female
    Sexuality:: Bisexual; but she would never admit to it
    Personality:: Ki-chan is what most people would call a teacher’s pet, a stick-in-the-mud, a bossy know-it-all, and malicious to boot. She is intelligent, most would give her that, but she loves to rub it in people’s faces and spurt out useless trivia in the most arbitrary of situations. Charming and kind to all of the teacher’s, she has been known to get away with near anything because she seems so sweet and “has never done it before” (despite how many times she may have really done it) – and nothing works better than the water works, even at sixteen. To the other students, she is a downright snob: a prim and proper perfectionist with a gothic outline. She was always a tattletale when they were younger, and she has yet to outgrow that frowned upon habit. Really, most students don’t understand how she managed to get the only friend she has (Argent Borusierpe).

    Argent, on the other hand, would give you a completely different view of the young woman. While conservative in her beliefs, Kiwo is not truly the smart aleck “Queen of the World” she makes herself out to be. Even if she has never acted on her desires – her friend can sense her real beliefs, her real needs: she wants to have more fun in life. A party animal lies deep within the young Japanese girl, but she is too afraid of what her parents would say if she ever let the eccentric, lustful beast out. Instead – she acts like how her parents would want her to, sticking to the traditional way for a woman to act: never cursing, keeping her skirts down to her knees, only raising her voice if it is to scold another for his (or her) foolish deeds, and staying in celibacy until she has married a proper man. A proper man, as her friend would say, is exactly what she needs: a man to pull her out of the traditional nonsense and bring out her wild side.
    History:: Born on the sixth of June, Kiwo was raised in a traditional household by her father and stepmother (her mother had died during childbirth). It did not take long for her to realize there was no love, or even lust, shared between her parents – they only married so that she would have a mother figure in her life. Despite this, she was determined to make them both proud by staying true to what tradition stated: a proper young woman does not flirt, will not bed a man until they are wed, will never bed a woman, will cover her upper legs whilst around men, will not raise her voice, will not succumb to her desires if they are not lawful or proper, and will always aim to prove greatness to the family name. Her father was not entirely fond of her powers, however he saw them as a chance for her to rise herself in society and allowed her to attend Merryweather Institute.

    It was a completely unheard of setting – a place full of boys and girls who were downright rowdy: screaming, throwing food, flirting shamelessly once they were older, and she really didn’t want to know what else. However, if she could not befriend at least one person in this place of sin, she would be alone for thirteen years – and she was not one fond of loneliness. Argent Borusierpe, or as she had begun calling her after sometime: Anko, was the friendliest of the children at the time, so she slowly grew to tolerate her eccentric nature. Social situations continued to be difficult, however, because Argent’s friends were amongst the worst of the other children – but the more quiet and secluded people in her surrounding years were too annoyed by her proper nature to even consider talking to her. Her powers, the power of supersonic waves, are probably what made her acceptable to Argent’s company: manipulating sound had many benefits; she could use the waves to destroy somebody’s insides, or simply appease to their desires to listen to music and cause loud disruptions. Of course, it would not be proper for her to do so, but they believe she’ll cave one day.

    Currently, Ki takes as few magically oriented classes as possible; because it isn’t her father’s wish for her to pursue a career in magic, only to use it to her benefit in a “proper” job. She continues to hang out with Argent’s friends, although none of them have become particularly close to her yet.
    Appearance:: Ki has extremely pale skin, dark black hair, and glossy white eyes – if her hair was night as midnight black as it was, most people would take her skin and eyes as a sign of albinism. Her thin eyes are usually set in a glare, usually because of her more eccentric peer’s antics. She has a thin build, very little muscle or fat is on her body, but she has a decent amount of curve where it matters. Standing at about 5’ even, she is amongst the more petit girls in the institute, but it doesn’t seem to bother her all that much. Her hair is always tied in the lolita style: two braided pigtails in an even bun and straight cut bangs. She is not one to wear make up often, only occasionally titivated with some black eye liner and silver lip-gloss when she finds the situation calls for it.

    Silk and lace. Black and white. This is Ki’s style and jewelry aside (which tends to be silver, with a hint of gold from time to time) she never deviates from it. A strung-up corset and collar decorate her upper-half, adorned with gorgeous adornments around her wrists, usually with a crown and cross, and a treble clef dangling down from her neck. She wears glossy notes in her ears, usually each one being a different color, to add to the melodic yin/yang appearance she has. Her poofy skirts all lead down as far as her knees, hiding some of her more attractive features from the wandering eyes. She wears laced up boots; the ties on each of them have a different key signature (sharp and flat). In addition, she wears a tight belt with a silver embellishment depicting two minor clef symbols connected at the center.

Alessa Juliet Valentine

User Image
    Name:: Alessa ♥ Juliet ♥ Valentine
    Age:: Eighteen
    Gender:: Femme Fatal
    Sexuality:: Homosexual » Lesbian
    Personality:: Outlined with kindness belonging to a sweet old grandmother, Alessa is always prepared to cheer someone up, no matter the circumstances. It could be a complete total stranger moping in a dark corner and it could be a possibility that this stranger is a rapist, but it wouldn't seem to matter to sweet Alessa. She just wants to be able to at least bring a small smile on their face. Depression brings fear into Alessa's heart and she tries her hardest to avoid the darker depths of one's mind by always thinking positive. Trying to find the brighter things out of the blackness consuming the world. She does this by giving to the community, donating to orphanages and the homeless, as well as speaking out for the different and unique people that doesn't allow higher societies to control who they fall in love with. People like her. Now, Alessa isn't a saint of any sort, but she thought it was the least she could do for the world, because of what she was. A witch. Alessa despised the title and the misfortune it constantly brought her as people threaten her to leave town or off the face of the earth. Yet, she doesn't let this get to her and doing that is by keep thinking positive. Always. Or else reality will sink in and she would be a totally different person.

    Besides the goody kind-hearted side to Alessa, there is another side that separates her from the many people around her. Being a victim of ADHD, Alessa doesn't know when to sit still for mere minutes until she's up and at it, again, with flying colors. She doesn't even know when to shut up and listen to people when they're trying to talk to her about something important. She does random things like shouting and jumping around as if she were a freaking lunatic. She'll dance, scream, shriek, and run across the state like a banshee. People find her annoying for these reasons, but she can't help the fact that she loves the attention it brings her. Oh yeah, she adores attention. Creating a scene in public and being down-right childish is her favorite characteristics. Alessa can't help but enjoy the spotlight, but she's not the least bit obnoxious about it at all. She's share it with you, if she likes you. Now, along side of this craving of attention is the shortness of attention she'll give you. She has a short attention span, which causes her to be a bit forgetful half of the time.

    You could be in the heat of telling her one of your deepest and darkest of secrets when all of a sudden, she'll be lost in her own world mumbling about duckies and grapes. Just because she loves the attention, doesn't mean she'll give you any. She'll get distract in two seconds flat, then she'll jump up and point at the offending object as if it was the best thing she has ever seen on earth. However, contrary to her childish and vibrant ways, she isn't a pushover and the moment anyone gives her any sass, she'll be ready to rip off their head. This doesn't mean she's a bully of any sort and that label offends her greatly. Call her this and she'll whine or pout like a little girl. Next is conversing with her, which will be difficult, considering that most of the time no one understands what she's saying. Alessa's words are jumbled and spoken in too fast of a pace; god bless anyone who ever understand what she's saying. The only way to keep her focused on what you're saying is by keeping her guessing; make her marveled and awed by whatever you're speaking of. Otherwise, you won't be the only one she's paying attention to.
    History:: Alessa Juliet Valentine was born in the riches and fame, because of her father's explosive business ranking. He was a CEO of some sort of technology business, but Alessa never cared too much to find out what he did for a living, because he never cared too much to find out about her and her social life. Alessa was raised since birth by the trustworthy maids and butlers, whom were in the family for many generations, always keeping the household clean and in check for decades. They were kind, yet strict, and they told Alessa stories of the world's troubles and success when her father could not, because of his constant work load. Alessa was taught manners by them for whenever her father decided to have an important gathering with famous VIP people joining in on the party.

    She was, also, taught business language just in case the VIP company ever dared to have a slip of the tongue without her father knowing; she would then either correct them or bring it to her father's attention about the 'mistake'. Alessa was seen as the achieved man in so many views and he held her in high hopes as a future CEO in technology like he was. However, this all changed when Alessa began to display the obvious symptoms of ADHD and her behavior wasn't able to be controlled anymore as new hyper habits slipped into her personality. She ended up ruining her father's gatherings by pestering the company with a parade of non-stop questions and she creeped them out by her sudden vivacious ways. Her father became aggravated and furious with her presence when the news got out about his socially-challenged offspring, causing the business to begin plummeting.

    He didn't look upon her as his daughter anymore and was ready to give her up for adoption, but the family's butlers and maids were able to convince him otherwise. Alessa was confused when suddenly the world was against her, but she managed to fair with it well. That's when she began thinking positive. Soon, daughter and father had a fallen-out. Insults and harsh words were exchanged, even the past memories of her unfaithful and deceased mother was entangled into the mess of verbal abuse. Basically, everything that hadn't meant to be said had been brought up and caused the blow up to be much worse than expected from the maids' point of views. Then, something happened. Alessa's mind and mental state was weak, the only thing strong within her was the adrenaline coursing through her veins. This adrenaline became a strong feeling and it leaked from her figure to shift into a dark aura.

    When the tension became too great and overwhelming for Alessa to handle, the aura seeped from her shaking form and shot out at her father as she screamed for him to shut up. He died that day and she cried. She cried until the servants took her some place safe before the cops could find out and introduced her to Merryweather Institute for Wizards and Witches. She kept her mistake a secret for years and never let it out. It helps...

Brooklyn Anna-Marie Fritz

User Image
    Name:: Brooklyn Anna-Marie Fritz
    Age:: 18
    Gender:: Female.
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual » Straight
    Personality:: Brooklyn is not the happy type of person, far from it actually. She can usually be found studying in her dorm room, or in the common area enjoying a good book. Books are where Brooklyn can escape to; they are her sanctuary in so many ways. No matter what the genre is she will probably enjoy reading it; though her favorite genre is fantasy. But reading, sometimes, is perhaps a bad quality in Brooklyn, she often won’t pay attention to anything around her while she is indulged in a good book. Reading for pleasure isn’t the only thing Brooklyn read. She also studies for exams like crazy; the main reason she’s one of the top students in her class.

    Who really needs friends? A question Brooklyn has asked herself to many times for her own liking. She has troubles with making friends and only has a couple now. She has had a few boyfriends in the past; but nothing serious of course. For the last three years she hasn’t even crushed on any of the boys in her class; or should she say men? After all almost everyone in her class is already eighteen-she still can’t believe it.

    Back to Brooklyn now - She acts the same once you get to know her; maybe a little more friendly. She’s quiet most of the time, unless she with people she can really be comfortable around, and these people are far and few between. Surprisingly enough one of these people happens to be her brother; no magical powers of course. They communicate by mail, and he always knows everything that’s going on in her life. Ever since Brooklyn was born he had protected her. If it hadn’t been for him Brooklyn would have been dead before she reached the age of four. So she really has no problem with talking to him at all; they don’t really act like family either. In all honesty Brooklyn is sure that they don’t have the same father. But that’s alright with her; she still loves him the same.

    History:: Brooklyn Anna-Marie Fritz. A walking time bomb; as some would call her. It didn’t take her parents long to find out she was a witch. They didn't want to keep her, the only reason they hadn't turned her in was because of Edward. By the time Brooklyn had turned seven they had no choice but to abandon her; or so they thought. It didn’t take much for her to live on her own; she was eventually adopted by a home full of other abandoned children - she didn’t mind it there; in fact Brooklyn actually enjoyed her time there. No one even suspected her of being a witch! It was perfect!

    Brooklyn’s brother, Edward, is the reason she is alive today. Her parents, once they found out she was a witch, were going to turn her in; or kill he themselves they were scared that is people caught them with a witch that they would kill them as well. She was only three at the time. What would it matter? Though, at the age of only thirteen Edward stood in there way, explaining that it wasn’t fair to her, that they would have to kill him before they killed her. He helped her through the tough times, her parents had never really given her much attention; they treated her almost like an outcast. But not even Edward could stop them from abandoning her, even if he had tried. A few years after Edward found his younger sister again and helped her as much as he could, though he did not take her away from the home for children she was in. He came and kept her company, and even played games with her. Even today they’re still in touch.

    A few days after she turned nine Brooklyn was still living in the home for abandoned children; she told a boy she had been friends with that she as a witch, and showed him what she could do. Of course he went and told everyone. The next morning Brooklyn left before anyone would come after her.

    Soon after leaving Brooklyn found out about the Merryweather Institute for Witches and Wizards. She was afraid she would not get in at the age of eight-almost nine but it turns out they had accepted her! With the little money that Brooklyn had stolen over the last few days she got a train ticket and made her way to the location; though at first was a little confused about the directions. Eventually she found the School. Over the next five years she was having the time of her life at this school; until she began getting into the upper years. A few of her best friends weren’t attending anymore thinking they could make it on their own now; She hasn’t heard from them since.

    Three and a quarter years has past since then. Brooklyn has been a little reluctant to make more friends, but eventually she has. Starting the new year she has no boyfriend; Or even a crush for that matter. In fact she hopes to do her best this year in order to go on and make something of herself out there in the real world; Even if she despises it so.
    Appearance:: I wish I could fly..

    Long, black hair comes down just past her shoulders. She will usually be wearing it in a ponytail to keep it out of her face while reading or studying. Her bright blue eyes stand out, especially when she wears such dark clothes. Her blue eyes are usually what attracts peoples attention first. Her lips our full and almost pale in color. Brooklyn usually dresses very simply, though whatever she does wear usually outlines her slim figure nicely. By simple Brooklyn thinks black: So most of her wardrobe is made up of mostly black. Some people accuse her of being ‘gothic’ for this reason, but she isn’t in the slightest. She just favours the color. Besides, black makes her less noticeable, something she definitely prefers.

Christopher Douglas Dy'nelio

    Name:: Christopher Douglas Dy'nelio
    Age:: 17
    Gender:: Male
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual » Straight
    Personality:: Unlike his sister, he is much more social. He is one that is willing to go up to a person and try to become friends with them. He generally is found with a small on his face. So if there isn't one most know to leave him be. But it is very rare to see a frown or anything but a smile on his face since he his hard to anger. He likes to draw, like his sister, but doesn't do it quite often. He usually does it only when he his really bored and can't find anything else to do.

    He also likes to play some sports though doesn't play that often. Mostly because he doesn't want to cause his parents to compare Emilia to him. For he knows that will hurt their friendship even more. He his generally very caring and thoughtful about others and doesn't like seeing someone upset. So even if he doesn't know someone sometimes he'll just go up to them and see if he can make things better.
    History:: He was born about a minute before his sister Emilia. And as they grew up he always tried to set a good example for her hoping that it would also make her like him. But it didn't work as he planned. In the end it made her dislike him greatly and their friendship ended up quite strained. But his other younger sister and he always had a good relationship. Though when he and Emilia got into Merryweather and she didn't they didn't get along as well.

    After Emilia and his friendship diminished he always felt bad and tried to become friends with her once again. But she wasn't the same anymore. After being compared to him for so long he understood. And he felt even worse once her friendship with their younger sister basically ended once they found out they had magical powers and she didn't. He saw how much she changed and hoped he could make it better.

    Though as the years went by they just became more and more distant. He tried sending people Emilia's way hoping they'd become friends but it never worked out. But he never gave up and is still trying. Also hoping that after a couple of years of her doing better that they could be friends once again.
    Appearance:: Five foot ten inches he isn't the tallest guy around, but he isn't short either. He is on the more muscular side but isn't buff and is considered slim. He has hazel eyes like his sister's though has dark brown hair, that looks black. He also can tan unlike his sister and usually a couple shades tanner than her.

Emilia Leila Dy'nelio

    Name:: Emilia Leila Dy'nelio
    Age:: 17
    Gender:: Female
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual » Straight
    Personality:: Most would call her a loner. Since she is normally found by herself far away from others as often as she can be. Though it is really is because the things she likes to do don't require anyone else. She tends to read or draw. And she prefers quiet while doing both so that is why she tends to stray away from others. Also, she hates attracting attention. She is polite though, most of the time, if someone talks to her she will respond and upkeep the conversation as long as the other does. But she is not one to go up to someone herself and start talking unless bored or upset enough. Then she'll go out of her way to find someone to talk. Or if the person is a good friend of hers, but at the moment she doesn't have any.

    And if she wasn't so afraid of attracting attention she would show her more musical side. For she likes to play piano and guitar along with singing. She'd probably be a little rusty at playing either since she hadn't played either for a while now. But she knows that she'd be pretty good at still. But she keeps from thinking about it. For she might get tempted enough to play something or sing. And she really wouldn't want the attention that it could bring.
    History:: Born a minute after her brother, Christopher, she always struggled trying to get attention since she always was compared to him. As she got older she tried hating him, but found that she couldn't completely hate him. So she just stop caring for attention, she decided she hated attention. For even if she did better than him she was being told to be more like him or her younger sister once she a few years old. Though it made her stray away from people most of the time and also made it harder for people to gain her trust.

    In the beginning she was much closer to Christopher, to the extent that they were inseparable but as time went on he was naturally better than her at everything they did she became jealous. At first she didn't mind it though went their parents started comparing her she grew to dislike him and their relationship lessened as time went on. And she tried becoming closer to her younger sister more, which worked for a little while.

    Once they got to the point that they went to Merryweather she was glad that she also had magical powers and that her parents couldn't compare in that way. But it made her younger sister end up hating her. For she now had to deal with being compared to her older sister and how she didn't have magical powers. Her family knew that she wouldn't tell anyone about magic and such, but now Em didn't have a good relationship with any of her siblings or really anyone in her family.
    Appearance:: Five feet and seven inches, she is above average height. She is on the slimmer side and, if she did sports, she could easily tone her muscles and look even better. She has mid-back length brown hair that is generally in a low ponytail. Emi has hazel eyes that will shift from being more green to more brown, depending on what she is wearing and her mood. She also has a fair skin, which generally only burns in the sun, so she is naturally quite pale.

Finally she secretly loves to sing, but rather have no one know that. Not even her family knows that she loves singing.

Opal Camille Bryant

    Name:: Opal Camille Bryant
    Age:: 17
    Gender:: Female
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual » Straight
    Personality:: In nature we see many losers,and Opal is one of those losers. Introverted, when pushed towards any degree of interaction with others Opal starts to commit social gaffes left and right. In the moment she does not notice, but feels terrible in retrospect. Such troubles in communication have not deterred her from interacting with others. Opal has learned the lesson to "always look on the bright side of life", and holds it near and dear.

    A look at her papers clumsily crammed into her bag, or her clothes strewn room will tell you that Opal is not in anyway clean. She does not really care about order or tidiness. Opal will leave public spaces moderately clean, but only because that is polite. In her private space her apathy towards such shines through.

    History:: Opal was born to an adept wizard and his equally adept witch wife. Both are employed as college professors, and have always loved their jobs. Opal's mother would take her to work and let Opal play in the grass as she taught courses on the open bowling greens of the college. Her childhood and through to this point has always been comfortable, emotionally and financially. She is an only child, and will, for all foreseeable circumstances, stay that way.

    In the beginning Opal was a prodigy. Her first sign of magical ability came at the age of 3 years. While upset over something long forgotten by all Opal knocked a vase off a shelf from across the room. During her first four years at the institute Opal showed great promise. All of her marks were excellent, and she was always absorbed in her work. This all ended over one winter break. What at first seemed to be a minor cold became progressively worse. Opal was hospitalized for dehydration and upper respiratory issues. When she returned from break Opal experienced trouble doing even simple magic. Her grades began to suffer, and she sunk into mild depression.

    The spiral continued as such until the summer before her sixth year. Opal's parents spirited her off to a private retreat of some sort. She has never really gone into detail about the experience, even to her closest friends. When she returned from the retreat Opal's depression had abated considerably, and her magical abilities somewhat restored. After a year of probation due to grades, Opal was taken off following a year of passable work.

    Appearance:: At 5'1" Opal is grounded firmly in the petite range. Unlike many other petite women Opal has a more muscular and athletic build. Add to this an hourglass shape (though it may slip into a pear shape when she gains a few pounds), and Opal looks somewhat like an antique pin-up. Her face is heart shaped and her skin an untanned but healthy pink. She wears her auburn hair pulled back in a loose pony tail, without bangs, revealing a widow's peak. Her eyes are naturally brown, but when in the mood Opal changes their color.

    Opal is not fond of make up in general, but often wears pink lip gloss on her Cupid's bow lips, and chooses more inappropriate colors such as purple and orange on the weekends.

Gweniveve Marie Delacroix

User Image
    Name:: Gweniveve [Gwen] Marie Delacroix
    Age:: 15, soon to be 16.
    Gender:: Female.
    Sexuality:: She’s not entirely sure yet. She likes to go with the fact that she’s heterosexual, but.. she just doesn’t know.
    Personality:: Quiet. That is almost the only way to describe Gwen. She’s the girl that you hardly notice when you walk down the halls. She’s the girl that’s carrying stacks of books that seem way to heavy for her to be carrying---and you don’t even try to help her until she runs into you, and drops all of said books. She rarely talks, and most think it’s just because she’s ‘weird’, but it’s really because she likes to hide her accent, which is a heavy Scottish one.

    She’s smart though. Very smart. Even though she is a Freshman, she could probably get higher marks then any of the seniors. She is taken classes that are seemingly far too advanced for her, but she gets past them ever so easily. That’s another reason people think she’s weird. All she does is read, study, and… study some more. She does actually have a life though, contrary to popular belief.

    Though, once you actually become her friend, she opens up like one of the books she reads. She is very humorous, and she loves to tell jokes, but most people just don’t see that because they choose not to talk to her. She’s a kind-loving girl, and she can probably cheer anyone up. If they give her the chance, at least. She’s the one with the shoulder for you to cry on.

    But. Though she may hide most of her anger when anything happens that she doesn’t like… It’s all pent up in there somewhere. Just don’t get her mad, because not even Lord knows what’s going to happen. She manages to keep it all bottled up, but one of these days… She’s going to explode.

    History:: Most don’t know the first thing about Gwen, either because they think she’s just some weird Scottish girl, or because they’re just too afraid to ask for whatever reasons. Actually, she sort of is a weird Scottish girl, but the students should have no reason to be afraid to ask! Though she didn’t grow up in a ‘normal’ sort of way, either.

    Her parents---she never knew them. She was just plopped into an orphanage when she was newborn, and well, you know the like. She was lucky though. The man who decided to make her his own was some sort of… Duke or something, and he just didn’t want to be all alone in the large, Scottish castle he had inherited from his own parents. He was an elderly gentleman, therefore Gwen came to call him grandfather. He gave her only the best, private tutors, horse stables, the finest clothes, but she could care less for everything but learning, really.

    When she got her letter, her grandfather was ecstatic, for he was a wizard himself, and that was one of the reasons he had gone to the orphanage in the first place. He wanted to find himself a child that would carry on his legacy at Merryweather’s, where he had gone, and been the top in all of his classes---and boy was he glad he picked Gwen. She was shipped off to Merryweather’s as soon as possible, and when he got her reports on how she was doing, he nearly had a heart attack. She was everything he could ask for and more. Unfortunately, he had no idea about her.. social problems.

    Appearance:: She is very… small. One could perhaps describe her as a mouse. She is about 5’4”, on the short scale, and she could not weigh more then 120 pounds. She is very lanky, and he little to now curves… anywhere, really. Her hair is long, a golden blonde color, and falls down her back in straight wisps. As far as he eyes go, they are a very stunning blue-ish/green color, that most can’t seem to find a perfect name for. Her facial features are ‘small’ as well, and she has what some might call a porcelain doll face? She doesn’t exactly know how to describe it either, just… small.

Morgan Líle Abernethy

User Image
    Name:: Morgan Líle Abernethy (mor-guhn lill abber-nith-ie)
    Age:: Eighteen
    Gender:: Female
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual » Straight
    Personality:: Ms. Morgan Líle Abernethy cannot be easily categorised. Although she is, at times, quiet, her personality is not entirely introverted - she's really rather analytical, and despite her eighteen years she often cannot hold her silver tongue. She has, around her, a certain air of confidence; she very rarely seems ruffled, and has the ability to make quick, smart decisions. Morgan is logical - mostly; but she also possesses something of a wild streak - and it runs deep. Nonetheless, while some release their inner extroverts through potentially over-the-top situations, Morgan is incredibly fond of equestrian; it's a well-known fact that horses are free spirits themselves, so it's certainly no surprise that Morgan finds herself drawn to them. However, she seems to be afraid to let loose - worried, perhaps, that it would ruin her facade of poise; and Morgan is, to say the least, hard to truly get to know.

    While she would generally prefer the company of a horse over a human, she is no misanthrope. She has formed a close collection of friends over the years, and although she is not adverse to being alone she does favor human contact. Good for the soul, she finds. Meanwhile, Morgan is not a loner, nor the type to purposefully stand out in a crowd. She tends to follow her own path, and while she may not be the immediate candidate for a leader, she isn't a follower, either. She seems to have her own tune to life - and perhaps this is where that muffled wild streak makes its appearance.

    Morgan is, in a way, peculiar; she very rarely raises her voice, does not make grand entrances into a room, and yet, while she may seem introverted she will never keep her opinion under lock and key, and carries with her a sophisticated sense of sureness. At times she may seem almost old fashioned, as if she would be more suited to earlier medieval, Victorian or Edwardian eras, and not in the loud, fast-paced world of today. Morgan also has the knack for figuring out how things work. She finds it easy to understand the mechanics of things - not just objects, either, but magic included. Then again, putting her theories to the test are another matter entirely; knowing and doing are two very different things. But once more, at times Morgan is a certified thinker - and others a sure-footed doer.

    Morgan has heart and mettle, brains and aptitude; but she's a peculiar human-being, for these are virtually polar opposites. Perhaps they balance her out - but she has not yet reached that stage in her life where wisdom comes naturally, no matter how wise she may think she is. She has a long way to go, Ms. Morgan Abernethy.
    History:: At the time of her birth, Morgan's parents were globe-trotters. She was subsequently born in Verviers, Belgium, but residency there did not last long and the first six years of her life were spent moving from place to place, country to country. Those early years were rich in culture and adventure, and Morgan's imagination and free spirit were welcomed into existence. Finally, however, the small family settled in Notting Hill, London. Her father, a journalist, had landed a steady, well-paid job at a London newspaper and her mother, as an actress, sought to found this central of England to be rich in the theatrical. But having had such a taste of the world around her, Morgan, at first, found it hard to stay in one place for so long.

    Having seen so much as such a young child Morgan had already begun to mature too early for her years, and this continued when she found it difficult to befriend children her age. Her first friends had been adults - it was no wonder that she found comfort with those older - not to mention the fact that her parents could easily be categorised as 'career people'; they each had a specific path they had chosen to follow and follow it they did. In Morgan they instilled a sense of independence and responsibility - she was often treated as equal and not a child, which, in it's own sense, was not the best thing for such a young person. While her parents saw it as liberating, Morgan failed to live a 'proper' childhood.

    The travelling had meant that her first few years in school were sporadic and she rarely had time to make proper friends - so the shock was great when she began attending a private school nearby. Once again, Morgan clicked with the children in older grades, and though she eventually found friendships in her own age group she still felt somehow ... out of place.

    It was not until her seventh year that it became painfully apparent that Morgan had that touch of magic in her. Her parents had, as instructed, been keeping watch over her for the first five years of her life - but travel and their own ambitions had kept them rather delayed. There was no actual link to magic in her immediate family; but her mother was a descendant of Spanish gitanos (gypsies) and her father a pureblooded Celt. Morgan had grown up on these rich histories, on the magic of her ancestry, and so perhaps her dabbling with magic was not so much of a surprise, after all. She, obviously, first came to the Merryweather Institute later than most, but that sense of responsibility that had been instilled upon her at an early age came into play and she worked hard to continue.
    Appearance:: Morgan is most certainly not short - she stands at a somewhat lanky 5'9", and weighs 110lbs. She is not at all voluptuous - should she cut her hair short and wear baggy clothing she would most likely be mistaken for a boy. Genetics have her thinly framed - wiry, with long legs, knobbly knees and piano-players fingers. She likes to think she's not so thin that people would worry she has an eating problem - for she certainly enjoys her food; sweets, especially. Morgan's face is round - possessing cheekbones not overly prominent but somewhat high nonetheless, plump lips and a thoughtful brow.

    She has her mother's lips and grey eyes, and a more vibrant shade of her father's reddish brown hair. The red clearly runs through one half of her family, so, like magic, it's no wonder her coiffure is deep auburn. Morgan had a brief stint of shorter hair when she was younger, but now it has grown into a wild mane falling in curls just below her shoulder blades. The curls are not tight - but are instead lucid waves, and it often becomes frustrating trying to keep it under control, as not only is it wavy but it is very thick and prone to frizz in humid weather. Accompanied with this prominent red hair is a smattering of freckles across her nose, cheeks, and arms. Morgan is not one to sunbathe, however, so the rest of her skin is milky - sometimes, in summer, with a slight caramel tone - due to her mother's lineage.

    Clothing-wise Morgan has a very firm sense of style. She has an eye for design and is quite fond of clothing in paler autumn or dark tones - such as beiges, greys, whites and blacks. Her style may be described as 'sophisticated' (or old fashioned) - at least, she's rarely spotted in a simple pair of jeans and sneakers. Even when riding she sports the appropriate footwear and jodhpurs. Her most favourite casual style is a loosely layered dress; white in the summer and darker colours with stockings in the winter. Despite her apparent love of fashion she rarely wears makeup; for she either cannot be bothered or prefers that 'nude' look. Her skin is not consistently flawless, but even on the days of blemishes and marks she'll rarely apply more than a layer of chapstick - and that's for necessities sake. Of course, on proper occassions she'll more than likely doll up; but for everyday she's far too busy (apparently) to be worrying about makeup.

Asche Feuer Brandursache

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
    Name:: Asche Feuer Brandursache
    Age:: 18
    Gender:: Male
    Sexuality:: Bisexual
    Personality:: Insane. To encompass everything that Asche is about – no word could fit the man better. While to the unknowing faculty member he may just seem like the average punk, most of his friends (or allies anyway), enemies, and general peers have noticed his abnormal nature. Despite his attention-grabbing nature, flirting with everybody in sight and playing the best pranks on the other people, he has close to no friends and is almost never romantically involved. He takes some joy in sexual relations – the temporary bond between two people, but he cannot find it in himself to trust somebody enough to get close to them. Most people would call him paranoid – although he would say that until somebody is coming to get him, one couldn’t really call him paranoid (despite the fact that he trusts nobody on an extremely similar basis). In addition to his love of attention and dislike of nearly everybody – he loves himself quite a bit too, perhaps more than he loves the attention he receives. Conceited and melodramatic – he spends a lot of his social time theatrically expressing emotions most people doubt he is really feeling or spending time training to become more powerful and more attractive.

    In spite of his histrionic and narcissistic nature – loving all attention and praise he receives – the young Brandursache man finds himself alone in the forest more often than he does in social situations. With delusions of grandeur (and who knows what else), he can commonly be found in the wooded clearings ranting to himself about the meaning of life, his plans for world conquest – all of which are eccentric and unlikely to succeed, school, and the usual things a slightly schizophrenic teenage boy would want to talk about (sex, drugs, and music). He has a slight case of ADHD (not particularly severe) caused by his relentless spurts of insomnia – which has caused a variety of other problems for the young man. A short temper, slight memory lapses, disorganized thoughts, bad vision, a slight slur to his speech, occasional hand tremors, lucid dreaming, and even a rare case of nystagmus.

    As if things were not bad enough for his state of mind – Asche is a gifted pyrokinetic, with the snap of his fingers or the clap of his hands: flames emit from his palms and fill the area around him. His powers fit his personality – lustful, angry, unpredictable, and uncontrollable. With this acute combination of traits, he is a force to be reckoned with, but if you can break through the walls of fire and ice that cover his heart, you will have the most loyal friend you could ever desire and more. Insane or not – he is thorough in what he does, intelligent, and dedicated to his crazy causes.
    History:: Asche was born on the nones of October to an average working class family in the times when good fortune was returning to the town where they lived. He grew up with a nanny, as both of his parents worked full time jobs to keep their son happy, and was taught how to read and write in German and English at a young age (being German – it was best for him to know the language, but they also suspected him of wizard powers, so they ensured he learned English as well). Not sure of what he could do, they isolated him from other children and during their short time with him: kept him educated at home. When he turned five, his parents knew that he truly was a wizard (one of fire, at that) and had him sent to Merryweather Institute. With the final wishes of good luck, he was sent away from the only three people he knew and into an entirely new setting.

    While he was not the best at adapting to other children, he soon realized that his powers and adorable looks could gain him praise from the adults and other children, and he relished in the attention. Previously, the only people he could “talk” to were his parents and himself – the latter would rarely argue with him for some reason while the former hardly seemed to care. Having these people around changed him, taking away his need to commune with imaginary people in his head and giving him a new passion: a passion for attention. As the years passes and his lust for notice was being satiated, his fictional friends returned and he began splitting his time between reality and illusion. It was when he slowly began to loose sleep that the adults around him worried and he saw a psychiatrist.

    Only going to see her on and off, the visits have not really helped any of the symptoms of his insomnia, nor have the sleeping pills had much affect on his resting habits. Nonetheless, he appeases to her whims and has been taking them for five years. He continues to exhibit strange behavior and remains in the social level he was before, but it is not something that concerns him. When he turned fifteen, he began centralizing his life on grandiose plans of world domination (many of which involve destroying the world in the process – and all of which are near impossible), succeeding in activities that he would never pursue in life (joining a couple of clubs here and there), and gaining more attention from the masses while discussing it all with himself.
    Appearance:: Asche fits the tough guy persona with his muscular build, tanned skin, and eyes and hair matching in the darkest of blacks. Standing at 6’3”, he is amongst the most intimidating-looking people at Merryweather Institute. His hair is rough and shaggy; the strands unevenly reaching down as far as his shoulders, constantly flowing into his eyes in a way that made him appear somewhat psychotic, especially after a long work out. Pierced in near everywhere that its safe and golden red flames burned onto his back, he prefers to go around with a shirt and sturdy, long black pants (the type with hundreds of pockets) dragging across the ground – going about bare foot if its well timed. In school, however, he tends to wear a black top, a thick black jacket (if the weather provides), and steal-toed boots with his leggings.

Chad Michel Williams

User Image
    Name:: Chad Michel Williams
    Age:: 17
    Gender:: Male
    Sexuality:: Bisexual
    Personality:: In his previous years Chad has been rather anti-social towards the students and teachers in the school - for this reason he was put into counselling. The reason was very simple, though drastically unneeded. He had a fear of meeting new people. So he would usually keep to himself he did this through all of his Freshman and Sophomore year. He accomplished this in various ways, but most of the time he would be outside by the lake or taking walks. Thus, no one really noticed him. This did, however, allow him to listen in and learn about everything going on; about everyone in his class. If course he is more then joyous about this now.

    That was then. Coming into a new year at Merryweather Institute Chad has a new and somewhat darker outlook on things. His phobia of meeting new people seems to have disappeared over the summer; or so it would seem anyways. Chad is definatly happy about this one. At least he can actually talk to people now, well he could before but he would stutter and trip over his words, eventually saying nothing to anybody. Now he is more sociable, more outgoing and definatly better looking.

    But how good is this really? Behind the cheerful face people will usually see him in this year there is his more sinister and twisted mind he calls home. The way he looks isn’t the only thing that changed over summer break - His mind took a nasty turn for the worse. What used to be an intellectual and somewhat healthy mind has been turned into a cynical and sinister wasteland. Even though he won’t show it - much - Chad takes pleasure in watching others in pain, or suffering of any sort. He might even try to inflict it upon the students at the school, of course not so they would know it was him. Just because his mind had turned rather sinister it didn’t mean he wanted to get suspended from the school.

    Ataxophobia - A fear of untidiness, a phobia Chad has had for quite a while now. He despises disorganized things, or messy areas. Because of this he is always organized and his dorm is always perfectly clean. If he sees a mess in the common area, or really anywhere he will clean it up or organize it. Even if it’s someone else’s belongings he will try to clean or organize it the best he can - some people often think of him as ‘creepy’ for this reason. He still hasn’t figured that out. The teachers however praise him for his organized notes and clean space, especially the dark magic teacher.

    History:: Chad’s father is a wizard, and his mother a which. Both of them are fairly respectable in the magical society mainly because of the fact they‘re rich; and they both live in a magic community, far from the school. Even though they know their son could care less if they were rich they always send him wonderful birthday gifts and other miscellaneous s gifts and supplies throughout the school year. Chad doubted he could appreciate it any less. He didn’t like having rich parents in the slightest, or being spoiled for that matter. Though he couldn’t deny he did enjoy the clothing he had this year.

    They sent him to Marryweather Institute as soon as he turned five years old. At first he loved it at the school, but eventually he lost the love he had for it, as he had with so many other things. He began to get bored of the school, and the work that was put in front of him. It all seemed to easy. So he simply just didn’t do it. After his parents seeing his grades dropping they made him go to see the school councillor. After two years of seeing her weekly Chad’s grades began to go up once more - his parents were content yet again. Chad wouldn’t have tried if the threat of having to go back and live with his parents wasn’t there. He hated it there more then anyone knew.

    In his Freshman and Sophomore year he mainly kept to himself, unlike the prior years where he was acceptably sociable, for some reason this year just wasn‘t the same. He would stay locked up in his dorm, talking to himself or his pillow for that matter some people even thought he was insane for that matter. He would go for long walks, or sometimes even go swimming in the lake that bordered the school, he really did love the water, if it was to cold to swim he would just sit by the lake. Soon he realised he had a fear of meeting and talking to people, or rather the councillor figured this out - Chad didn‘t know she noticed such things, but obviously she did. She made him come to see him weekly once again - he hated it but soon got over his fear near the end of they year so he didn’t have to go see her ever again, well hopefully, next year.

    Over the summer something happened to him - or rather his mind. Neither his parents or he himself know what it was, but in all honesty Chad was just perfectly fine with it, he liked the transformation he had made. He began working out and caring how he looked, his parents were more then just a little surprised at this. Chad had always been the, somewhat, perfect son. What had happened to him? By the end of the summer when it was time to go back to school again he didn’t look all that bad and he felt even better, even if his mind had gotten sinister, he didn’t mind in the slightest. Infact he welcomed this change with open arms.

    Appearance:: If only life was perfect.

    Chad stand at about 5’8’’ slightly shorter then average for his age, but he doesn’t mind, at least he’s taller then most of the girls. His messy, black hair is cut short, but not a short as it was in the previous years. His eyes are a vivid green; Depending on the day his eyes will be darker or lighter green in color. With a slightly muscular build to him this year Chad looks twenty times better then he did last year - he even got rid of the glasses; though if needed he does sometimes where them. Chad usually dresses in dark colors, but one might often see him in lighter colors as well, just not as often. He hates leather - so no one will ever see him in anything even remotely leather.

Argent Oro Borusierpe

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
    Name:: Argent Oro Borusierpe (Anko to some of her friends)
    Age:: 17
    Gender:: female
    Sexuality:: bisexual
    Personality:: Physically strong for a girl with her build and more intelligent than the average person, Argent seems like the honorable cheerleader figure when you only first meet her… for about ten seconds or so. Her aberrant nature and eccentric mannerisms make her stand out more than her peculiar appearance – and that is saying something. While she loves to write and commonly has her nose in a book – she is far from the quiet type so commonly associated with the bookworm. Flirtatious, stridently thunderous, elfish, devil-may-care, and ostentatious to boot – some of her friends have come to consider her a swashbuckler of sorts. Dramatics aside, she has the heart of a cowgirl, the body of a woman of easy virtue, and dreams of a Mafioso. With a come-hither look and the maniacal laugh to top any super villain, she is fairly popular amongst the darker of the boys at Merryweather.

    Her friends have accused Argent of being a nymphomaniac, but she denies it whole-heartedly because, despite flirting with nearly half of the girls and guys in the school, she is far from easy. She will, however, admit to being a bit of a pyromaniac and megalomaniac… and quite possibly a bibliomaniac as well. If such a conversation were to arouse, however, it would most likely end up with her settling on the idea that she is, in all its essence, a maniac. The young Borusierpe woman speaks at an amazingly swift speed, making it difficult for people who aren’t used to her to understand a word she is saying. While she seems to genuinely care about the people she’d admit it too (usually by hugging them or saying in a baby-voice that she loves them), she also is a bit brutal and cruel to those she doesn’t – and it’s a widespread belief that she’s a sadist.
    History:: On September 2nd, two babies were born to the wealthy Borusierpe couple and the story of Argent Oro begins. She exhibited a passion for serpents at a young age, starting with her love of The White Snake, The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily, and her excessive cheering on of the tempting creature wrapped around the tree of forbidden fruit. Her twin brother, Mordoré, was not so inclined to that which many see as evil – but he adores his sister and aids her in whatever antics she may find herself attempting. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, only Argent showed signs of mysticism as they grew older and she was sent to Merryweather Institute (although he tries to see her as much as possible). Despite her girlish appearance, she quickly made friends with the rowdier group at the academy, and despite the odds: Kiwo.

    She loves to explore the way things are made (especially poisons), making most people believe she was most strongly gifted in the powers of alchemy. However, while her knowledge and basic skills in the subject are beyond the norm, her real gift was that of shape-shifting her body. How? Well, she was born with a love of them and if she had her way, she would die amongst them: a snake. She began only transforming her body into scaly features, giving herself fangs as her eyes slit and became a more golden color. Sometimes Argent would find herself much like a nagini would, which only made her more curious of what such powers could do. Despite her passion of writing, she had rarely picked up a book before the age of ten – but that would soon change. As she began reading the myths and legends around the serpentine creatures of the world: nagas, basilisks, dragons, and the like – she simply grew fond of reading and spent most of her eleventh year in the library.

    Now a days, she loves to study everything about the magical community, taking nearly all magic classes (the exceptions being German - because of one of her friends; and Chemistry - because of her love of alchemy) and discussing what she finds with other people. Her and Ki are still close friends, despite the odds against the unlikely relationship, although Argent has gained many more friends in the past few years. She still visits her brother (more so then the rest of her family) commonly brining her Japanese friend along (like Argent being dubbed Anko; Mordoré has become used to the name Makku). Embracing a new year at school as another one to push out of the way, she is ready for whatever life will dish out.
    Appearance:: When looking at Argent, the first thing everybody notices is her peculiar heterochromia – her right eye being a pastel shade of lavender while her left is a pleasant sea green. Her hair, more noticeable from afar, is shining silver in color and glistens down to her waist (although all but her bangs are kept in a ponytail). She is about 5’5” and has a perfect hourglass curves – giving her a cute, but charming, appearance. Her teeth are a bit sharper than average, using the fang-like teeth to excuse her desire to more finely cut her nails. Keeping to the color of her hair and eyes – she wears primarily silver make-up and jewelry, emeralds and amethysts adorning as much of the ornaments as possible. Her clothes are loose-fitting, but not overly baggy, and tend to consist of a belly top (spaghetti strap or halter) and a denim mini-skirt – both of which are predominantly silver with purple or green patterns or outlines. To keep to the dress code, when in class she tends to wear less revealing clothing, although still in the same fashion. On occasion – you can also find her wearing a silver, broad-brimmed hat.

Pietr Gallen Minh

    Name:: Pietr Gallen Minh
    Age:: 18
    Gender:: Male
    Sexuality:: Homosexually inclined, though he probably wouldn't admit that out loud, since that would mean that he is capable of feeling an attraction toward others.
    Personality:: Pietr is the kind of creature that is introverted and extroverted by turns. To say that he has a certain amount of arrogance would be an understatement, since he often appears so wrapped up in himself that it borders on complete narcissism. If he speaks to others, it is generally out of a sense of boredom, or a curiosity that drives him to know why people do what they do. The people involved rarely matter to him, beyond being diversions, and he is almost never tethered to anyone by choice. For this reason, he seems to shun any extra-curricular activities except choir.

    On the rare occasion that Pietr actually makes a friend, or extends his respect to anyone, his loyalty is pretty much unshakeable, although largely unspoken. Even the people he cares about deeply are subject to large portions of distrust, since Pietr is pretty brutally aware that caring about someone and having them care about you can be very different things.

    Despite his seeming indifference to most things, Pietr does have a set moral code going for himself, and is not prone to undue violence or even foul language, unless he feels that it's warranted. As much as he would love to appear entirely aloof and stoic, he cannot keep himself from interfering when he thinks that a person might be legitimately in pain, although his ability to console is protracted by an inability to communicate his feelings.

    All in all, Pietr is a person who longs to be isolated so that he can avoid trouble and drama. Unfortunately, he still craves attention from others, although his pride dictates that he shouldn't interact. The effect is that he is one who will not go to others, and spends most of his time wishing that they would come to him. This has, understandably, caused quite a few issues in his life and in his mind, and the general concensus of his family is that if Pietr doesn't soon learn to bend that pride of his, he'll be alone for the rest of his life.

    History:: It's pretty easy to tell, just looking at his name, that Pietr is the product of two different cultures. His mother and father, German and Korean respectively, met during a flight from France to Britain and hit it off right away. Though they didn't see one another face-to-face for another two years, they corresponded through letters and telephone calls, both of them tethered to their locations by business. When they finally met again, they married with little to no worry for the future, and in another two years, they had a son together.

    For the first three years of his life, Pietr's mother tried to stay at home while his father balanced the business. Unfortunately, after those three years, between work and the difficulties of still getting to know one another, their time for Pietr was limited, and he was often shunted off onto nannies, maids, and secretaries. This instilled in him, from a very young age, a hatred for professional people, though he never recognized it, and put him well on his way to being professional and formal himself.

    When Pietr was five years old, and his letter came, his parents almost missed it. In fact, the item had not been placed with their regular paperwork, and they came close to throwing it out before realizing what it was. They hadn't noticed anything strange about their child, but various members of household staff were able to vouch that if Pietr wasn't abnormal, no child on Earth was.

    From that time forward, Pietr has returned home to visit only a handful of times, mostly associating with aunts, uncles, and cousins because his parents are too busy. Though he probably doesn't realize this fact, he is actually somewhat jealous of his cousins for even being able to fight with their own parents.
    Appearance:: Pretty, if you're not really watching.
    Nine-tenths of the time, you could probably look at Pietr and believe that he's a sophomore, rather than the senior that he is. His face is a little too rounded to really give the fully impression of masculinity, and as a child he was often mistaken for various female cousins, until he became old enough to dye his hair. It's pretty obvious that his blond comes from a bottle, and it fights a little with the tan of his skin, although there's very little he can do about that.

    Almost all of his physical features come down to him courtsey of his father--a fact that Pietr rails against whole-heartedly with anything that he thinks will dispose of the resemblence. 5'10" without shoes, he isn't precisely tall. Neither is he precisely muscular, although there is a light amount of definition to his frame. This comes more from the fact that Pietr eats exactly what he should, rather than physical exertion, and it isn't much of a secret that he's not the epitome of strength.

    Formal clothes make up most of his wardrobe, though they are cut tight enough so that they come across as casual. Whether this is a blatant mockery of his father's sense of style, or a way of showing others that he is obviously not the girl he has been mistaken for in the past, even Pietr is unsure.

Eleanor "Ella" Melandra Burke

    Name:: Eleanor "Ella" Melandra Burke
    Age:: 16
    Gender:: Female
    Sexuality:: Heterosexual
    Personality:: Eleanor loves to study people. If she’s not immediately visible in a crowded room, look again – she’s off to the side, blending in, observing with her notebook in hand. The workings of the human mind have fascinated her since childhood. She enjoys debate and has always been rather manipulative, using words rather than charm to achieve her ends.

    Eleanor can rarely be seen without a notebook or a camera. “Art is everywhere,” she claims, and it’s true enough for her – if a room is empty, she brings color in with her. Questionably organized and sometimes forgetful, she is capable of alienating people with her off-the-wall antics, her lack of attention, and her excessive enthusiasm. If you’re searching for someone dependable to meet your deadlines, it might be wise to look elsewhere – Eleanor is more concerned with what she’s interested in today.
    History:: Eleanor’s exact birthday is unknown. Her mother, a witch, was nineteen and unmarried at the time of Eleanor’s birth. She panicked and abandoned the baby in her elder brother’s diner. Stephen Burke adopted and raised his niece, and neither of them heard from Eleanor’s mother again. Stephen’s other sister, Alexandra, received a letter shortly after Eleanor’s mother disappeared, saying the latter had met a new beau in Boston and planned to travel abroad.

    Stephen Burke was never married. He began teaching Eleanor to play the alto saxophone when she was ten, moving on to flute and clarinet around her fifteenth “birthday.” Eleanor picked up photography from her childhood friend Kelsie, and the two took a class together the summer after their eighth grade year. Alexandra brought novels from the used bookstore she cared for, and Eleanor became an ardent reader. Her endeavors in soccer and basketball were largely unsuccessful, to her uncle’s disappointment.

    Eleanor began showing signs of magical ability in the winter of her ninth year – being, as Alexandra put it, “a late bloomer.” Stephen, having never showed much interest in nor talent for magic, turned that part of her education over to Eleanor’s aunt. They met after school every day until Eleanor’s acceptance into the Merryweather Institute – which was and remains a source of great pride for both her surrogate parents.
    Appearance:: 5’5’’ and of an average build, Eleanor rarely stands out much in a crowd. Her hair is long – too long, she complains – and brown, rather wavy and sometimes unmanageable. She is and has always been fair-skinned, with a few freckles as proof of the many southern summers she spent outdoors as a child. Her eyes, magnified behind thin spectacles, are blue. She prefers a (sometimes eclectic) wardrobe of cool colors, claiming that brighter hues make it more difficult to blend in and people watch.

    -Is allergic to an alarmingly long list of foods. This has led her to develop a habit of picking at her food.
    -Never learned how to swim.
