Welcome to Gaia! ::

Figured, as opposed to having this on the main page...it'd be better to put it here.

This is for Apathetic Nonchalance and my summaries for Tarot Story, found here.

Please no one else post.
June 7~ Saeru first went through the portal.

June 8~ Saeru started exploring, found that some of the other cards were still in the castle. (This is for creative RP reasons...see FAQ below for more info.) The World made her entry, also, but the two have not yet met.

June 9~ Both Death and Strength have found their ways in. The World started exploring on her own, with especial detail to her room. Coincidentally, so did Death.

June 11~More exploring is taking place by Death and The World. Both are finding that balancing life and the new world is rather difficult.

June 12th~Death: Has discovered her primary weapon, the scythe, as well as finding a curious note in her room. With further exploring, she began to realize more about the other major arcana and her previous relationships to them.
Empress: After a terrible day at work, she found her card on the side of the road. The gate opened barely in time to prevent her from being totalled by a semi. (Really awesome entry.)
Judgement: Has also found his way in.
June 13th~ General: The Magician, the Moon, the World, Judgement, The Wheel, and Kaze met together in the courtyard for the first time. Kaze felt out of place but had no where else to go. A harp was found by the Moon and Magician in the music room, while the other three cards explored the ballroom and discovered its balcony. Shortly after, The Empress and Death made their appearances.
Magician: Found his card and was drawn through the portal.
Empress: Accomplished some minor exploring on her own, tried on some dresses.
Strength: Though having spotted the groups that met in the courtyard, she remained illusive without meaning to.
Death: Has started keeping a journal of events. She seems to be planning to stay.
World: In her own diary, noted the strange emotions that some rooms seem to bring her.

June 14th~ General biggrin eath and Empress have small in depth conversation about the past.
Strength and The World briefly discuss music and life in the castle.
Kaze and Death discover the Toy room, and Kaze finds a room.
Judgement, The Wheel, and The World meet Li, but then Gaia dies.
The next day, Death, Strength, and the World gather at the lake, and have a small conversation about Syr's Lyre and art.
Magician: After discovering his card, steps through to his room, and goes to visit those in the courtyard.
Strength: Accompanied by a snake companion, explored a little into the castle.
Death: Moved officially to the castle, bringing several things with her. Also was nice enough to bring some things back for Kaze, which she left in the Toy room.
Judgement: Began learning how to fly, with understandable difficulty.
World: Discovered a lyre that compelled her to play. After much time and a lot of pain, realized that it probably would be better to leave it alone.
June 15th~ General: The Empress ran into The World in the ballroom, and they started talking, but eventually, hearing Judgement on his trumpet, went out into the courtyard. There they encountered The Magician and Death, who had just arrived. After retrieving Judgement, the lot of them made it into the courtyard, where they discussed how many Arcana there were. Meanwhile, the Wheel located another stray passerby, Meep, in the toyroom. Out in the courtyard, the world starts playing her instrument again. Saeru takes the young lady to the elevators, and then joins the others. Everyone talks for a while, skills are discussed, meetings are made. 115 Death had her powers awakened. The Wheel and The Empress discussed meeting the following day.

June 16th~ General: The Morning comes, and The World and Strength meet at the lake. Agreeing to make chimes for her friend, The World is led by Strength back to Strength's half-outdoor room. The two seemed to really enjoy each others company, as they're both such happy individuals. They discuss chimes and plants and others together.
With evening approaching, The Hanged Man finds himself in the castle, and hungry. Making his way to the kitchen, he then encounters Death. When the Magician and Judgement arrive, a mini quest is started in pursuit of food, ending with Death retreiving some from a store back in her reality by use of the portal. Meanwhile, the Empress and the Wheel meet in the courtyard, and dissapear off to the Empress' sitting room to discuss why they're there. 128
The Theif eventually has to leave, but Death, Judgement, and the Magician stay to talk. So they do.
Magician: Ponders on if he can do as his name suggests.
Empress: Worries on Solving the mystery of the castle.
Hanged Man: When cleaning his room, discovers the Card under his bed. Having a dream about being chased, he awakens to find himself in the castle, and hungry.
Death: Finds a strange shirt a few sizes too big in her closet, but knows she has an attatchment to it.
Judgement: Worked on flying and succeeded with it for the most part. Also searched through his personal trumpet collection to discover a few extra nice instruments. Practiced a bit.
June 17th:
It rained. The Wheel didn't much enjoy the rain, and so slipped away back to reality. Meanwhile, the Hanged man went exploring. After calling him a dove, Strength and Judgement had a brief conversation, involving wing touching and discussion of the castle layout. The World had a little dancing with herself in the ballroom, before meeting with Judgement. About then, the Hanged man finds the library, but is unable to locate any information on the castle history. He joined up with the other two, and they shared more info. They break off, and the Hanged Man and Judgement make it to where Death is, at the pool. They talk about dreams, which causes Death to leave at one response. Judgement returns to his reality, and the Hanged man does more exploring. In her quarters, the Empress finally decides to assume her intended role. She heads to the ballroom, where the HAnged Man meets up with her. When he leaves, Death finds the Empress, and they converse about specific significant others. 141
Empress: Is a bit down about being unable to locate the Emperor. Wondered about the card Death found.
Wheel: Had small in depth musings about his powers and his inability to fly.
HangedMan: Learns from the Magician how to return. Is insatiably curious. Wonders also on the purpose of the castle.
Judgement: Worked more on flying, enjoyed the rain.
World: Is thinking of hosting a party...wishes to get to know others better.

June 19th:
Empress: Looking through the desk, finds old loveletters and correspondances. She writes on meeting others.
Chariot: Destroyed an ancient palace, found his card, and discovered his room.
Strength: Returned to reality to obtain chime supplies. Also thought about how the winged ones fly, and if Go was alright. She wonders why people are so concerned with finding themselves...when they are themselves.
HangedMan: Has found his dagger, and wishes to find other clues.
Death: Looking forward to meeting her Knight, also writes about the languages found in her room. Seems to have met The Wheel before coming, and feels competition from the Chariot.
June 21st:
The hanged man gets caught in the belltower and is rescued by Strength.
They head to the kitchen, where they find the Empress, and Strength falls asleep. There is much fuss to make sure the Hanged man is alright, and the Empress makes him some dinner. They talk, before she retires to bed and he takes Strength to a room before leaving himself.
Later that night, The Wheel makes a trek to the Garden and introduces himself to Death, who is actually an old friend of his. When a sword imbeds itself in the ground next to them, they head to the arena and meet the Chariot. The wheel, not much liking two people to talk to, leaves, and the Chariot and Death agree to Duel the next day.
That morning, Strength wakes in a strange room, and escapes through a window to the pool, where she takes a sort of bath. As evening comes, The World, at the lake, is approached by the Hanged Man. She spots him, and they get to talking, while Strength plays tag in the maze with the forrest creatures. As the Hanged Man talks, its apparent he's looking for someone. They head to the kitchen. The wheel has been watching from the roof of the Ballroom, and Judgement joins him there. They talk only briefly before The Wheel wishes to get down, and has Judgement fetch him a ladder. In the kitchen, the World remembers where things are kept. The Chariot and Death meet for their duel in the arena, which continues for a long time. Meanwhile, the Hanged Man demonstrates his still at cutting things, then finishes the meal the World started for him, before leaving.
The next day, The World makes a lovely tart in the kitchen for others to eat. She finds Judgement, and shows it to him. In the Garden, The Wheel sits at the fountain thinking when he is met by Strength, who compares him to a butterfly at his self seclusion. Judgement takes his turn on the roof. After a while, Strength departs, and the Wheel drifts off to sleep...but is woken by a scream. The Hanged Man is there when he wakes, and the two of them talk. The scream from earlier was Death, who glides down to the courtyard and runs into the Empress. They enjoy a midnight snack together, and discuss men...again. What is it with these two? Their subject this time is the Chariot.
Another day passes, and Death decides to get dressed up to visit the Ballroom. She runs into the World there, and they talk about a possible tea party, before Death has to leave. Judgement finds his way in, however, and after a brief conversation, he awakens her powers. She becomes a little Dizzy, and so they head outside to walk through the gardens. IN the actual garden, Death encounters Strength. 196
Magician: Has been feeling rather secluded, and finds a strange charm...
Empress: Is trying to find a suitable hobby to pass the time.
Strength: Feels that the Wheel is a sad person, but will be alright. Is also writing up descriptions of the outdoor places to help others.
Wheel: Went exploring and nearly got trapped in a chamber beneath the arena...where he found the other cards.
Hangedman: Talked with the World and thought on how people instinctively know about parts of the castle. Wanted to meet with the Wheel, which he got to the next night. Seems he was a bit unnerved by the conversation, but is still intent on looking for his object. Likes Pie.
Death: Discovered her tome was a book of spells. Also met with the Chariot, but was frusterated that there was no clear winner and with how the Chariot makes her feel. Thus the next day was spent training...and, after a good scream, a talk with the empress had her calm again.
Judgement: Did a basic exploration of the grounds, and thought on the others with wings. Also, is starting to realize what his power is and how it might effect people.
June 24th:
Strength and Death return to Strength's room, where they share some drink and have a dance. Meanwhile, The World and Judgement play a game of tag in the maze...when The World gets lost. Gaia dies.
The next day, The Hanged Man is wandering when he hears music. Tracking that to its source he discovers The World on a harpsicord. He plays a bit himself, but then the two head off.
Later, The Empress starts looking for the stables. On the way she encounters Death, and they head there together to get some riding done. Meanwhile, the World takes a dive into the lake. Brr. Later, and after a bit of wandering, she and Judgement meet up again. They head to the music room to hear The world's song, and are joined by the Magician, before Judgement leaves. They talk for a bit, before both of them depart as well.
This night, The Wheel and the World met in the ballroom. After a brief moment of dancing, he tests what would happen to touch the thread of another. Not long afterwards, feeling strange about that, he leaves. 219
Death and the Empress meet for their nightly tryst, where death appologises for an earlier conversation.

June 25th:
The Chariot began putting the moves on Strength, while Death watched from above.
Later, the watcher descends, and speaks with the World about her Lyre and who might have brought them to the castle.
July 1:
The Hanged Man begins training outside, when he is interupted with the smell of pie. He heads for the kitchen, where The World and The Empress are baking and talking of tea. Death on the roof keeps track of everyone's wherabouts. Unfortunately, The Hanged Man becomes to tired to make it to the pie, and heads off. Death enters the kitchen conversation as the pie leaves the oven. Mentions of that future dinner party are made, but eventually The World has to leave. So The Empress and Death head to Death's apartments. However, The Empress has a bit of trouble with that tower rope...
In the stables, The Wheel first encounters the Charioteers horses, and then the man himself. They head to the Arena, where they talk, and The Wheel finds a pair of swords that feel right to him. Soon after, however, he has to leave, and the Chariot is left alone in the arena. Death takes The Empress, and they swoop down to him from her tower. Some witty comments are exchanged, including the Empress giving a false name, before the three of them head off to his room...together.

The next day, When looking for his horses, The Charioteer meets up with The World. The two of them discover that Strength has the horses with her, back in her outdoor room. Problem solved, the three head off.

Another day, another time...Judgement and The World meet up in the music room and play, and discuss compositions. Many inane questions, as well, but all in fun. The Wheel, meanwhile, plays out an illusive conversation with Meepfur. He shows her the cards, and what they mean and do. 264

Naraka, The tower, enters the castle grounds and runs into Strength. They discuss the cards, but he leaves after a time. The next morning, Death encounters Strength at the zoo's birdcage, and they dance together.
The Tower, while exploring, literally is run into by the World, who screams. Her scream draws Judgement, and the two of them meet the newcomer, who seems a little derisive. The World retreats to the kitchen while the other two talk, but The Tower eventually joins her there for tea. When he leaves, Death and the Empress arrive, and talk about him with The World. Their topic changes to Strength and the approaching storm, to real life...and eventually fades off as they all leave.
The next day, Strength tends the garden to prepare for the approaching storm, and the Chariot finds her there. They save many a plant before retiring to his quarters for a pleasant evening.
That night, the storm hits.
The World comes off the balcony to meet with the Tower, and they discuss his life, until she realizes what he is. They move on into the throne room, and continue talking, about the castle and familiarity this time. Finally, they end up in the ballroom where dancing follows suit.
Outside, in the storm, Meep finds herself lost in the maze. The Tower takes his leave of The World, and, as she looks out into the rainy courtyard, she spots the Wheel going towards the maze. Joining him, they find Meep, and bring her back to the kitchen, where the Empress is waiting with warm tea. Needless to say, the three are rather soaked, and The World takes the Wheel back to her chambers to dry his wings. She asks him about his eye, but his answer isn't very detailed, and rather strange...and then he departs. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Death enters and the Empress offers Meep some dry clothing...so they go off to find it. 301

((First a brief message: Hello, everyone. I play the Hermit. I hope I didn't word it in a too-confused manner. sweatdrop ))

July 4

The World cooked a bit of dinner; the Hanged Man popped in for a bite, and he learns of the two latest arrivals. They were joined by Meep, who met the Hanged Man for the first time, and a cup of tea was shared by all three. The scent of the cooking lamb in the kitchen attracts the Tower; while the Empress turns in for an early night, the Tower appears. He and the Hanged Man engage in a bit of sizing-up, while Death - deciding to take the rope-climb from her tower-room - also joins the impromptu gathering. Returning the World's lute, introductions are made between Death and the Tower; dinner is served, though the chef (the World) ducks out to retrieve the Tower's cape, left behind after their dance. The Tower questions Meeps ability to arrive at the castle sans card, and the World plots and executes prank; while it amuses almost everyone, the Tower takes exception at the invasion of his personal space. The World, hurt by the Tower's brusque manner, begins shedding tears; the Tower becomes - if possible - even more agitated. The Hanged Man, either trying to break the tension or make it into a telenovella-worthy drama, suggests that the two were once married; the Tower is indignant, the World has a brief outbursts and leaves, and the Tower has a good laugh at her outburst. Death leaves after the World, Meep is highly uncomfortable, and the Hanged Man - after making a casual warning against underestimating the World - excuses himself. Meep tries to mediate the Tower's point of view; Death returns the World's lyre, then retires, and the World plays herself calm, resolving to go and apologize soon, rather than be thought a "big baby." She does so, and the Tower accepts, on the terms that she never pull a similar stunt again. Meep excuses herself, and the Tower and the World move to the dining room, where the Tower explains his need for personal space, and from which the World takes her leave. (ends at top of pp.330; whew! o_O wink

Meanwhile, the Chariot is in his bedroom, reflecting on how it's been fun so far, but not too conduicive to finding out any "great truths." Taking the elevator for the first time since his arrival, he tries random floors to no avail; after questioning the need for such space when there seems to be so few people to inhabit it, he returns to his room in frustration. About this time, a young man named Apathetic is spotted wandering the castle corridors, looking confused and accompanied by a tortoiseshell cat named Cheshire.(ends partway down pp.333)

The Tower is now patrolling the outside of the castle, while the World is dancing herself to exhaustion in penance for her behaviour. Strength is walking in the forest, and is happened upon by a momentarily-but-fleetingly-feral Tower, and they have a conversation about perception and remembering their past lives. Meep, meanwhile, lies by the lake and hopes she hadn't overstepped her boundaries, lecturing the Tower. Apathetic, after wandering about, has found the library; he is momentarily occupied, though somewhat unnerved. Meep considers heading to the kitchen, the Empress looks for company, and the two wind up having scones in the kitchen. Apathetic's cat takes off, prompting Apathetic to chase after him; he spends all night trying to follow the animal, then falls asleep in one of the many empty bedrooms. The conversation between the World and the Tower ends when the World goes off to bed, but the parting is an amiable one; meanwhile, the conversation between Meep and the Empress, concerning Meep's (possible) card and the other cards by extension, begins. The Tower wanders aimlessly for a bit, before winding up in the kitchen once again; the Empress and the Tower are introduced, before the Tower turns into mist and retires. The Empress and Meep do the same.

The next morning, Death idles by the lake, allowing "The Hermit" to wander about in confusion. (Hermit? Who's he?) The Chariot figures out how to get his chariot working, and rides about in the fields attempting to shoot/trample various animals, to be taken back to the castle and cooked. Using all his arrows but failing to hit anything, he returns to the castle; meanwhile, Death awakens from an enigmatic dream, has a cup of tea, heads briefly to the "real world," and returns with a bootle of booze, barricading herself in her tower. In the stables, Slyabney is talking to Bob the horse; in a spare room, Apathetic falls off the bed and wakes up, wandering off to find Cheshire. Hearing footsteps, he finds Sly coming in from the stables; since they both have no idea where they are, they head out to the stables and outdoors to try and get the lay of the land. Foiled by a high wall and flat pasturelands, they wound up in the courtyard, then took the other door back into the building. In the meanwhile, the Tower appeared in the throne-room, which is where Meep - having left the kitchen just before Sly entered it - is heading. Meep bandies words with the Tower, while Sly and Apathetic make jam sandwiches with the bread and preserves they scavenged in the kitchen; Apathetic also finds Cheshire napping in a cupboard. They eventually head south, passing through the dining room and winding up back in the hallway; about this time, the World begins to work out her frustrations by playing music. They split up, and after hearing voices in the throne room (Meep and the Tower, still talking), Apathetic decides to call it a night and look around tomorrow. (ends on pp.347)

Eventually, Meep and the World individually go to bed, and the Tower is left to ponder, alone, in the throne-room; this doesn't last long, though, as he's soon joined by Death, coming off her alcohol-binge, and they speak of unpleasant memories that this place had revived. Meanwhile, Apathetic is awakened by an empty stomach, and thus treks downstairs to the kitchen for a snack, accompanied by his cat. Distracted by the voices of Death and the Tower, which he can hear in the hallway, Apathetic trudges east to the throne-room; while Death and the Tower continue their conversation, Apathetic stumbles in and stares blankly, not quite "getting it." When Death inquires if Apathetic wants anything, he stammers in the negative and turns to leave; something, though, compels him to turn around and question him about this place. Naraka exited at this point, leaving a slightly mellow Death to hand Apathetic the Hermit card; Apathetic is duly confused. Death leaves, and Apathetic - absently wishing he were back in the tower-room bed - finds himself there. Exhausted from confusion, he falls asleep... not noticing that his clothes have changed, or that his room's gained a few new accoutrements... (ends on pp.350)
Massive Journal Summary update:

Magician: Was gone for a bit in the hecticness of life, but seems satisfied with the way things are in the tarot world. Finds a journal, though can't entirely understand it.

Empress: Thinks about going back through the portal, but it takes her a while to decide upon it. Notes that she doesnt feel a really STRONG atatchment to the emperor's card. She does find an observatory in the tower by her rooms, though she doesn't visit it at that time due to rain. As time passes, she gets lonlier, and seeks Death for company.

Chariot: He thinks about the first three people he has met: Death, Strength, and the Wheel. Is rather fascinated by Death. He spends his time exploring within his chambers and thinking of all the items there: the clothing, the armor, the swords. But then he makes intimate aquantances with Strength, Death, and The Empress, and thinks on them for a while. Strength shows him where his Chariot is, and so he practices with them and has strange dreams.

Strength: Met the Wheel and found him sad, then chanced upon Death and the two spent the night together. Strength was reminded how much she enjoyed another's company, and soon after she and Chariot had that oportunity, which they took. She met the Tower, and was surprised by his reaction to the castle. But later she finally got her dance with Death. When the storm comes, after spending the day saving plants, she returns with the Chariot to his room where they talk and do other things. July comes, and she thinks on how she doesn't believe in fate. She enjoys the fireworks back at home, and returns to find a new horse and also to catch Naraka in a playful mood. When searching for a lost horse later, she talks with the Empress and with Judgement, who awakens her powers.

Hermit: Followed his cat out into the storm, and thus stumbled onto the castle. He gets his card from Death, and does some looking around. In exploring the library, he finds the selections within to be odd...modern and ancient combined. The castle frusterates him.

HangedMan: Stumbles upon the World composing music, and its a bit soothing to him. When the Tower shows up, he's not amused, but is amused by how the World treats him. He finds a box, and annoys Death, but helps a friend(The World) retreive her card. Also annoyed by box. When talking with Judgement he learns of the castle's reality. But, finally, he gets into his box to discover a necklace, a vial, and some newspaper clippings that reveal a bit of his past. Also finds the magpie interesting.

Death: After getting dressed up, found staying the night with Strength to be a bit confusing feelings-wise. So she spends a full day in the Garden, thinking on dreams. Looking through the tome a bit more, she regrets basically having to start anew with the spells. When sketching in her journal, she compares the Chariot and her Knight of Wands, and decides she doesn't like to stay alone in her room for so many nights as she has been. She gets the opportunity to change that when she and the Empress meet up with the Chariot...but...while she is impressed with his knowledge and skills, she feels there is some passion lacking. The next day was spent relaxing, but soon after she decided to keep a set of throwing knives on her. Strength and she make an agreement that Death can sometimes come to stay the night. When it rains, Death takes the usual opportunity to stand out in it. She finds the Tower to be dangerous yet amusing, and gave The World back her lyre. Soon after the Wheel visits to give her the Hermit card, for safekeeping. Her dreams torment her about her past life...and what it means to be Death. She thinks on the people she encounters...The Tower, the Hermit, the chariot...and how her encounters with the last are rather more like excercise. When The Hanged Man tries to break into her apartments, she isn't very happy with him, but soon after she rescues the World before going to talk with others in the kitchen. A few nights later she visits the astral plane, and meets with an old friend, but he asks her not to visit, and she feels even more alone. There is an interesting theory she talks about, as well, with people having a soul, a body, and a spirit to bind them together.

Tower: Finds his card, and journeys to the castle. He finds it overly oppulent, and the occupants annoyingly ignorant. But he tries to warm up to them, nonetheless, and danced with the World. Still, the night after, he was accosted by her, and was certainly not happy for the event.

Judgement: Started having some rather unfun nightmares about the powers he was granting to others. After talking to The World, however, he realized they weren't entirely likely to come true. Nonetheless, it is a worry of his that they -could.- He talks with the Empress, but seems to think he knows more of what the Tower is looking for than she would. He wonders about his wings and what he is. Awakening Strength's power wasn't as traumatic as the others were, but beware the disney songs. He meets the Chariot and decides to try a pole for combat, but in doing so discovers a secret room within his tower with many other poles.

World: Worries that she upset the Wheel after he touched her thread. Met the Chariot, and was frightened of his horses. Later, though, she had a dream about the old castle inhabitants. Rather important. She felt bad after meeting with The Wheel and asking him about his eye, and after making the Tower upset with her playfulness. She was very grateful for Death saving her when she fell off her balcony, and for Go returning her card to her. She feels a respect for the Tower, also, for the way he is.

((Sorry for the long stretch of time between updates; I had... technical difficulties.))

July 13th Update

Death, the World, and the Chariot spent some time in the kitchen, just talking, while the Chariot made a sandwich; the World leaves, and the Chariot discusses the past with Death. Sly meets the World, who was dancing in the ballroom, and The World explains how she read a story of a 'tarot kingdom,' held her card in her hand, and found herself at the castle for the first time. She and Sly discuss the others who've arrived at the castle, and what is known about the castle so far, and so on, while in the meantime Judgement returns and looks around the castle a bit; he enters the Ballroom just as Sly leaves, and he and the World catch up a bit. The World tells Judgement about her incident in the ballroom, during which she seemed to be seeing the coronation ball of the King of Wands re-enacting itself in the ballroom, then excuses herself; Judgement moves out into the courtyard, where he meets Sly. The World, meanwhile, is tuning a guitar, wondering if her 'tarot-self' and her 'real-world self' can actually be compatible at all; meanwhile, Sly and Judgement continue their conversation. Someone new, a young woman named Fiarias, finds her way to the castle, then meets Judgement and Sly in the courtyard; she then departs, citing her parents worrying about her, and Sly asks Judgement if his wings are as heavy as they look. Following that, both head to the kitchen; meanwhile, in his tower, Apathetic wakes up to find himself sporting the same clothes as the him on the Hermit card; taking the staff and lantern now leaning against his doorway, he heads down to get that snack he missed out on last night. (ends one-third down pp.365)

Judgement and Sly find some pastries, but Sly soon leaves to find somewhere to sleep for the night; Meep, now up and about again, heads toward the kitchen as Apathetic arrives there, and meets Judgement. Accidentally introducing himself as "The Hermit," he re-introduces himself as Apathetic; Judgement shows Apathetic his own card, and also informs him that the woman and man from the previous night was Death and the Tower. Right after this, Meep enters; introductions all around. The Hermit mentions in passing his apprehensions about his card, but doesn't elaborate further; Judgement decides to call it a night, and The Hermit introduces Cheshire (his cat) to Meep. The Hermit leaves to go let Cheshire back into the tower, and Meep decides to go to sleep; Death, meanwhile, arrives and suits up for fencing practice, debating on whether or not she'd care to be seen practicing. The Hanged Man, meanwhile, decides to try and investigate Tower #4, which happens to be Death's; noticing his intent from the air, Death decides to land, hide, and see what happens. When he makes it onto the balcony, the Hanged Man is surprised by Death's saber before; the two bandy words, Death making it clear that she'd rather he vacate at once, while the World makes a non-focused entrance and appears several hundred feet off the ground, falling fast. Shutting the balcony doors in the Hanged Man's face, Death whisks away to catch the World before she hits the ground, a tragedy averted. After a brief bout of understandble hysteria, the World calms down and realizes she's lost her card in the fall; assuring her that it'll be found, Death takes her leave. The Hanged Man, meanwhile, has found her card; being suddenly assaulted by a rather aggressive bird in the belltower, he also comes across a small, locked box in a hollow part of the wall, and takes it with him to unlock in his room. Passing through the castle, he enters the library, where the World is reading on the second floor; he returns her card, and finds out about the "... brush with Death." (ends near the top of pp.372)

The Hermit awakens in his tower-room, does a little looking-around, and finds a large book with a map of the castle on one shelf; examining his desk, he finds a small book with pages torn out from the front, the rest blank, and decides that this will be his "Tarot Journal." Meanwhile, the Hanged Man shows off his weaponry, and the World asks about his being in the belltower; he explains about the small box, showing it to the World. The Tower and Strength arrive at the castle, in different areas, while The World goes off to do some reading and the Hanged Man gets to work on opening the box. Strength is playing in the lake; the Tower, in a playful mood, surprises her, and they speak lightheartedly about the beauty water and sunlight combine to make. Judgement, meanwhile, has made it through the maze and wound up on the lakeside; in his tower, the Hermit finishes his note-taking, puts everything back, and leaves his room. Somehow recalling the map of the castle he saw earlier in perfect clarity, he runs through the room's he's visited, and decides to try the courtyard as a destination; on the way, he hears voices in the kitchen, and finds the World cooking dinner. The Tower leaves the lake for the kitchen as he Hermit and the World exchange names, arriving to sit silently on the stove and dry off. Sly follows soon after, and comments on Apathetic's new look; Apathetic explains about his card, The Hermit, and he and Sly discuss the castle and Bob the horse, while the World and the Tower discuss how a vampire's needs differ from a human's. Both conversations end, as the food is now ready, and The Hermit and Sly (and Cheshire) begin eating; meanwhile, the Magician returnst to the castle, and - in his tower - the Hanged Man's attempts to open the small box leave him frustrated. The Magician arrives in the kitchen and is introduced to The Hermit; the Hanged Man also arrives, but decides to eat first, ask questions later. The World and the Tower leave, as the kitchen is getting crowded, and The Hermit, feeling somewhat intimidated by all these people who knew more about this place than he did, excuses himself. Judgement arrives, the Hanged Man eats, and the Magician leaves; meanwhile, the World and the Tower have a bit of a conversation and play some music together. Sly leaves the kitchen to check on Bob the horse, then lets him go; in the kitchen, the Hanged Man summarizes his day to Judgement. Death practices her swordplay in the courtyard, then is disturbed by Sly's arrival; unseen, she goes to the kitchen for some tea. Judgement leaves, Death ignores the Hanged Man's presence, and the Tower enters; tired of being ignored, the Hanged Man retreats to the basement wine-celler. Wehn questioned about her mood, Death explains about catching the Hanged Man attempting to enter her room; the Tower expresses his dislike of the Hanged Man, while in the library, the Hermit reads up on the meaning of his card and doubts he can fulfil it. Using his card, he returns to his room for the night; Meep enters the library just after, retrieves a book, then heads to the kitchen and makes herself a snack as Death and the Tower discuss the castle's extravagance, and the nature of humanity. Eventually, Death leaves, and the Tower does the same soon after.(ends near the bottom of pp.38 cool

The Chariot writes in his journal, while Strength looks for the horse that went missing (Bob); she asks the Chariot if he's seen it, which he hasn't, but he offers to help. Meanwhile, Sly is also out and about, looking for Bob the horse, and the Empress fluctuates between being alone and being around others. Strength meets the Empress in the courtyard, and the Empress agrees to help look for the horse; while Death watches them, and Judgement watches Death, the Hermit wakes in his tower and updates his notes. The Empress and Strength wander the gardens, looking for Bob; Death flies off, and the Hermit leaves his room, while Sly also searches for his horse. The Tower appears in the courtyard, which is where the Hermit is heading, since he never got there the previous day; the Tower goes for a swim, while Judgement follows Strength and the Empress, and Sly wanders around the pasture calling Bob. Judgement joins the hunt for Bob as the Empress leaves, and the Tower enters the garden-maze; he decides to nap in the garden as Judgement and Strength look for, then find, Bob the horse. Here, Judgement re-grants Strength her power, though she isn't aware of what it is yet. As they return Bob to the stables, they meet Sly; they talk for a while about the zoo before Sly decides to call it a night. In the ballroom, the Wolrd dances in silk scarves; the Tower watches from the shadows, before startling her with musical accompaniment. Strength leaves, and Judgement heads for the kitchen for a drink, while in the ballroom, the World notices that the Tower is soaking wet, and he explains that he was in the lake... and something about luckily having avoided swallowing a small fish. They find some towels for him to dry off with, and the World mentions feeling slightly guilty about being unable to tell her family about the castle; the Hanged Man, meanwhile, has awakened with a hangover, and - after waking up a bit - winds up skipping stones across the lake. The Tower mentions, again, his having killed in cold blood, and how it's finally caught up to him once more; feeling sympathetic, the World invites him to her room, where he promptly falls asleep against a wall. The World retires to the courtyard, and the Hanged Man returns to his Tower to sleep; in the kitchen, Death and the Empress have some fruit and lemonade. They discuss their past lives - what they can remember them - and their dreams; the Empress states her disbelief in the absolutes of life, and Death, nodding, exits. (ends on pp.40 cool

The next day (wait... how many days have passed?! o_o wink , the Tower appears again in the courtyard; the World, having slept in the sun, is now sunburned. The Tower offers her a ceramic jar of lotion, which helps tremendously, and they watch the sky reflected in the lake while the Tower absently begins singing. The Empress, reflecting on the previous night's conversation, listens from her tower; after a time, the World thanks the Tower and retires to her room. The next day, the Chariot works off some stress by phantom-sparring in the arena; Judgement, who happened upon the scene, applauds, and they finally meet. They tour the castle, then the Chariot retires to his room, leaving Judgement to... stand on the roof over the ballroom. In the meantime, the Hanged Man wakes, tidies up his room, then heads off to Death's tower, intending to apologize. Before he gets there, though, he finds Judgement atop the roof; they discuss why Death dislikes the Hanged Man, which tower is Judgement's, the new arrivals to the castle, and the Hanged Man learns that the castle is apparently somewhere in England. They then seperate, both heading to the kitchen for a snack; both, however, decide to call it a night right after reaching the kitchen. Judgement leaves, and the Hanged Man returns to his room, vowing to conquer that still-locked box soon.

The next day! again. The World finds herself feeling frazzled, though she can't say why; the Hanged Man, back to skipping stones across the lake, is pondering strategies for unlocking that box of his. Kesin the magpie, finding his way into the ballroom, twitters at the World; the bird watches her, she watches the bird, and the Hanged Man, form the shadows, watches them both. The World offers the bird a silver ring from her finger, which it accepts and is very fond of; the Hanged Man emerges from the shadows, and they wonder if Kesin came with a card-holder while he pecks at the World's leg for attention. The World coddles the magpie as the Empress arrives; Kesin and the World semi-communicate in song for a bit, and all four (three humans, one bird) move to the kitchen. The Empress offers the magpie a cookie, which makes it drop the ring; then it drops the cookie to get the ring, then tries - and fails - to pick up both at once. They make small talk for a bit, before the Hanged Man, then the World, excuse themselves. (ends on pp.449)

The World and the Chariot meet in the ballroom, and the World goes over the "legend" of the four kingdoms; soon, though, the Chariot has to leave, and he does so. The World then makes her way to the Library, where the Wheel of Fortune soon arrives, and the Wheel of Fortune accepts the World's offer to find something to do, so that he doesn't dwell on his non-flying wings. Meanwhile, Sly meets up with Judgement by the lake, and they make small talk; the World and the Wheel of Fortune briefly discuss the Chariot, about whom the Wheel of Fortune seems somewhat apprehensive... at least, where the Chariot's drive to win is combined with the World.

The Devil arrives, and the first person he meets is the Empress; they have tea in the kitchen, and he flirts some information out of her, including the fact that she's beginning to feel resigned to her future responsibilities, which seems to irk him slightly. He decides to retire his room, leaving the Empress somewhat speechless. The next day, Strength, meanwhile, wanders through the maze and into the courtyard, while the Hanged Man hails Judgement in the courtyard. Strength joins them, and the Hanged Man reveals that he finally pried that box open; within, he found old party-announcements, a vial of black... stuff, and a very sparkly necklace, which he gives to Strength, who kisses him on the cheek and brings up the topic of servants. Yes, they seem to have just appeared, taking care of the menial chores like cooking, cleaning, ect; about this time, the Devil wakes, and decides to see if those wings of his worked. They kind of do, and he manages a landing on the roof over the ballroom, having a smoke as he watches the three in the courtyard below. Eventually, though, he returns to his room, as Strength brightly - and perhaps somewhat naively - informs Judgement and the Hanged Man that the Chariot has a large collection of womens' clothes and lingerie in his closet, which leaves them speechless. Fortuantely, though, Death appears at this time, and while she's still a little cold towards the Hanged Man, they all have a conversation about their new servants; we learn that, while everyone else has flesh-and-blood servents, Death has dis/embodied spirits. The Hanged Man apologizes to Death, has it accepted, and leaves; Strength leaves to tend to one of her new aides; Judgement leaves as well; and Death heads inside. (ends at bottom of pp.475)

Kesin, the magpie, apepars to have adopted the World, who is reading in her room when a knock on her door interupts her; it's the Tower, looking a bit panicky, and 0 judging from the sobs coming in from the hallway - he's not the only one. Apparently, he had a run-in with his new servant... and it didn't go too well. The World heads out to fix it, and while she talks to the girl - who is apparently unaware of the Tower's vampiric nature - the Hermit returns; confronted by a matron-type woman, he quickly escapes to wander the halls. The Tower tries to foist his servant off on the World, who already has two of her own she doesn't want; eventually, the Tower gives in, and tells the servant-girl to go take the day off or something, and he and the World talk about the ethics of having these people as servants. The Hermit enters the courtyard, intending to visit the garden, but gets sidetracked and talks to Meep by the lake; they chat about the day, the warmth of the day, and the Hermit smiles before his watch goes off and he has to leave. The World and the Tower decide to go outside to get away from the servants; the Magician has the same thought, and heads for the courtyard. The Devil, already there, assumes a relaxed pose and waits for them, then introduces himself when the above - plus Death - arrives. The Tower and the World bypass the scene and head for the lake to splash about in the water, Death and the Magician introduce themselves, and the Devil - reflecting on Death's introduction - thinks that some people here are just fatalistic (whilst slightly unsettling the Magician via handshake). In the meantime, Meep returns to the toy room and falls asleep; shortly after, the Tower and the World emerge from the lake and retire.

September 21st Update

The Devils conversation with Death further reveals an attitude that seems to revile complacency, or blind acceptance, of any kind; Death soon departs for the night, however, and Death retires to within the castle. The next day, Sly goes for a brief swim before wandering around the halls a bit more, the Tower does the same, but they don't interact at all. The World, having settled matters with her own servants, takes a brief moment for a vocal interlude; her voice leads the Tower to her, and also a young woman named Shar. After the two cardholders have a brief conversation concerning the pasts of their servants - and the strange reaction of the young girl who'd been assigned to the Tower - Shar introduces herself to the Tower, and re-introduces herself to the World. The World retreats to the Courtyard, where she meets Judgement; after a brief time, the Tower and Shar join them. The Empress arrives soon after, and they make small-talk; Meep awakens from her sleep, and ventures out into the courtyard as the Tower enters the garden-maze, the Hanged Man close behind. When they eventually find their individual ways out of the maze, a brief conversation is had in which the reasons behind the castle is discussed, but no conclusion is reached save that the cardholders will need to band together to solve it. One-by-one, everyone heads inside.Sly and the Empress meet in the kitchen, where the Scottish cook serves up the Empress' dinner, and Sly gets to have some, too.

(starts on pg.52 cool
The next morning, Strength wakes up early and goes to find Judgement, dropping by his tower to bring him flowers and ask if he wanted to spend time with her (in the platonic sense). They go for a swim - in the shallow end, in case Judgements wings are too unweildy to swim with - while Sly, wandering the halls yet again, meets up with the World, and more small-talk ensues before they part ways. The next day, the World takes an early swim and meets up with Judgement, who discuss the fact that the World hasn't been feeling too well the past few days, a bit lethargic, perhaps. After Judgement reassures her that she does have a purpose, like them all, they just have to find it, the conversation turns to stars, and they go star-watching. While the Empress, in the stables, feeds carrots to the Charioteers horses, then takes the one called Night out for a quick ride, the World and Judgement talk about how several "residents" of the castle seem to be absent a lot; as the Empress finds them, the World retires, and the remaining two have a quick meal in the dining-room. The Empress' powers are awakened, and she and Judgement both retire for the night. (ends pg. 549)

(starts pg. 552)
It's morning, and Judgement starts off the day by playing a little ragtime music with one of his servants. The day passes uneventfully, though the night brings a storm and a conversation, as Judgement and the Tower discuss their reason for being at the castle-- a popular subject of conversation, it seems. They bond over the lack-of-memory concerning their reason for being there, then the conversation ends and they go their seperate ways. In her room, the World awakens suddenly from a nightmare, leaves her room in search of someone else, and finds Death in the kitchen; the World dreamt of watching her younger sister get older, live her life, and then die an old woman, while the World herself remained young. Death comforts the World as best she can, and when the latter has calmed down somewhat, both return to their own quarters. While this was happening, Meep has finally become a cardholder; via Saeru, she recieved the Justice card.

starts pg. 574
Strength is met in the garden-maze by a frantic spirit, one of Deaths servants, who leades her to Deaths tower, where the cardholder seems to have met with some unfortunate accident. While Strength does what she can to help; the World practices her cooking skills in the kitchen, and Sly briefly stops in for some bread and soup; shortly after he leaves, the Hanged Man arrives, the Tower joins them, and the former tells the other two about the odd items he found in the Ballroom. Later on, Meep... Justice briefly meets Judgement by the lake; more time passes, and the Tower meets the World by the lake (a popular meeting-spot in the castle). The World has a cathartic spiel on how things have been weighing her down as of late, the Tower listening and offering sound advice. Calmer, the World thanks the Tower, and the two seperate. The next morning, Judgement practices his combat-form in the training-grounds, where he meets Strength and Kesin, her new magpie friend. Walking her dog, Ammit, Justice meets up with the other two cardholders, and pleasantries are exchanged before Judgement leaves. The Tower joins them, and announces he's leaving for a while as Kesin and Ammit throw insults at each other in their respective language. As a storm begins to blow up, everyone heads inside just as it breaks.

September 21st Update, Continued

(starts on pg. 607)
Strength meets Judgement in the ballroom, telling him about Deaths mysterious "illness," and Judgement volunteers to help if he can; though they can't seem to wake Death from her coma-like sleep-state, she seems to be stable nonetheless, and they hope for the best. Later that day, Judgement is still pondering, while Strength wakes from a brief nap. Justice, walking through the halls with Ammit, meets up with the Hanged Man, and they make small-talk until the latter leaves and Judgement shows up. More small-talk ensues before they go their seperate ways.

(starts on pg. 621)
In the Real World, an act of war results in the destruction of life-- including that of the Charioteer, who - it seems - is back to the castle for good. In another part of the castle, Death awakens in her room, while the Hanged Man climbs to the roof, just for kicks. Death explains to Strength that she was attempting a spell, which failed due to the lack of a power source, a soul; from the rooftop, the Hanged Man sees the out-and-about Charioteer and calls out. Introductions happen, the whole "the-Chariot-has-a-closet-of-womens-clothes" thing is straightened out, and they head off towards the arena. Death and Strength bond while Death thanks Strength for watching over her, and Judgement and Meep briefly discuss their individual reasons for being present before splitting up. During the storm that happens outside, a young woman named Rhimnie arrives in the castle. (ends 631)

(starts on pg. 641)
A young man called RT enters the castle grounds; spotting Death from a distance, he momentarily doubts his sanity. The World and the Hanged Man meet in the ball-room and have a light conversation while waltzing; RT happens in and watches quietly from the side, being mistaken and dismissed by Judgement for one of the servants. Eventually, Judgement realizes that RT is one of those who just happen upon the castle, and they head to the kitchen to get him something to eat; the World and the Hanged Man continue their conversation by the lake, and talk about faeries for a bit before heading off. The World then meets up with the Charioteer, who has arrayed himself in full armor for "battle," and rides with him in his war-chariot to the Arena, where he procedes to beat the stuffing out of a illusionary-but-real-enough opponent of the Worlds choice. Another lost hiker arrives, this one going by the name of Puss, who quickly winds up meeting the Hanged Man, RT, and Justice, the last one being half-dragged there by her dog. Justice briefly unnerves the Hanged Man by mentioning the reality of justice itself, before all three go to the music room, where RT plays Metallica until Go falls asleep.

(starts on pg. 670)
A girl called Pseudo arrives, bearing the card of the High Priestess; the first person she meets is Strength, who attempts to fill her in a little while aiding a wounded hawk in finding its mate. In the library, Puss finds a tarot card hidden in an old book; the card, and the note he finds with it, indicates that he is the Heirophant. Strength and the High Priestess meet up with the World, and Strength introduces the two before bowing out for a bit. They walk and talk, the World explaining what she knows of the cards and the castle; the Heirophant finds them, and remains apart from their conversation while he listens in. The two women walk off towards the library, while the Heirophant meets up with Justice, who shows him around a bit. They encounter Judgement, and he's introduced to the Heirophant; meanwhile, the World directs the High Priestess to the courtyard and leaves. The High Priestess continues on and stumbles across the trio, but doesn't join the conversation until after the Heirophant leaves, after which they all have an introduction-session. Sly drops by as well, and the Heirophant returns; Judgement goes off to the kitchen to get everyone snacks, and he finds the World baking. The end result is that the Heirophant, the High Priestess, Judgement, the World, Justice, and Sly have a picnic in the courtyard. And odd bit of tension, partially sparked by the High Priestess' odd connection to the World, results in the picnic being broken up; the High Priestess briefly meets Death, but the castle is soon quiet for the night. The next morning, though, the World, the High Priestess, and the Heirophant meet up with each other, then with the Charioteer; the requisite introductions are made, and the group heads off to the arena, where combat-practice takes place between the World and the Charioteer.

September 22cond Update

(starts on pg. 700)
After a brief traipse in the maze, the High Priestess happens upon Strength and her two companions; they talk about the injured leg of RT, whom Strength hasn't yet met, until he shows up. In the meantime, the Hanged Man attempts to break into Deaths tower - again - and is foiled by one of Deaths ghost-servants, falling off the tower and winding up being rescued by Death. Once they reach the ground, he shows her the glass vial of black substance, which was in the box he finally got open, in hopes that she might know what it is; meanwhile, Strength is meditating alone when the Tower, back from his trip to some unknown location, happens upon her, and they chat. When informed that all the cardholders are doomed to unaging immortality, at least until someone or something physically kills them, the Tower enters a rage at the (for lack of a better word) unfairness of it all, and while Strength tries to calm him, the High Priestess hears his raised voice and immediately fears for Strength. When she arrives, the Tower has fortunately calmed considerably, and slightly-awkward introductions are made. After the High Priestess leaves, Strength offers the Tower the species of night-blooming flora she's found in the gardens, then offers him a proposition for the night; on the basis that he's dead, the Tower politely refuses, and Strength smiles and shrugs it off. Entering the castle, the Tower drops by the Worlds room, where he and Kesin are both greeted happily and the Tower gives the World a pretty necklace.

(starts on pg. 720)
At target-practice with an anachronisitc handgun, the Heirophant attracts the attention of Death; their initial meeting is rather terse, probably due to the opposite polarities of their cards, and the Heirophant remains taciturn even after the arrival of the High Priestess. The result is a "friendly spar," hand-to-hand only, moderated by the High Priestess, and the resulting draw prompts Death to note that she could use a little more practice. In the garden, Strength surprises the High Priestess, and they have a brief chat about their individual dreams. Meanwhile, the Heirophant is returning to his target-practice; the High Priestess, now accompanied by a dog she found on the castle grounds, joins him, and RT arrives soon after. More introductions. RT leaves and meets up with the World, and they make some small-talk for a bit until they go their seperate ways.

(starts on pg. 731)
RT does some cooking, the World and the High Priestess have light conversation, and Justice - who had found a sword - and Judgement do the same; the High Priestess moves into the kitchen, where she chats with RT, and the World faces down an imaginary dragon in the Arena. Judgement, meanwhile, dispenses his awakening poetry, and Justice can now use her power. The next day, Strength and the Charioteer talk by the lake; the High Priestess stumbles upon them, and - after a brief introduction - the Charioteer plants a surprise kiss on Strength before sweeping off. The High Priestess is somewhat embarrassed by this. The subsequent conversation between Strength and the High Priestess reveals that they're actually long-lost sisters, seperated by their parents' divorce when they were young children, and the revelation is too sudden as Strength flees. Later, sitting by the lake as the stars rise, the High Priestess is happened upon by the Tower, who offers a few words of comfort before they're joined by RT, Ammit the dog, and Justice, in that order. It sort of turns into a general pow-wow for a bit.

(starts on pg. 751)
Another day in the castle, and the rare appearance of the Wheel. He meets the Heirophant for the first time, and after introductions they find a hidden passage, leading down into the castles interior; eventually escaping from the passage, he winds up getting his wings tangled in a thorn bush, and is stuck there until the World helps him out, and their conversation turns to his long absences. The High Priestess meets Judgement, and shows him an old picture of herself and the World, when they were just children. Inside the castle, Justice has had her blindfold stolen by Ammit, but her blindness is ended when the Hanged Man passes by and trades the dog for the blindfold with doggie-treats. A young named named Rob wanders into the castle, injured, and while Judgement and the High Priestess take him inside to tend to his wound, the World convinces the Wheel to try flying. (this page unacessible due to sushi error) The World has a minor breakdown, which leads to the World taking her to his tower, where they both spent the night, asleep.

September 22cond Update, Continued

(starts on pg. 771)
Upon spying the World exiting the Wheels tower in the morning, the Charioteer immediately assumed the apparently-obvious, and determines to best the Wheel at the non-existant game. The Wheel and the Charioteer head off to the Arena for another session of combat-practice; meanwhile, nothing else of particular note happens around the castle, aside from the typical small-talk that goes on on average. The Empress then re-appears after a long hiatus, and she meets up with Meep in the dining-room, being introduced to the High Priestess as well; shortly after, RT joins them for breakfast/brunch. Shortly after that, Rob wakes up and finds his way to the dining-room, becoming a bit of an irritant for those already gathered for a meal.

(starts on pg. 787)
After everyone went their seperate ways, the High Priestess finds herself climbing a tree; when a branch breaks and she falls, she also finds herself discovering her shapeshifting powers, as she inadvertantly turns into a panther. Ammit goes after her, and she easily bats the dog aside; (789 unacessible due to sushi error). Though wounded by the shapeshifted High Priestess, RT nonetheless helps her to her feet after she recovers human form; Justice, regretting her own actions, shares the High Priestess' feelings fo distress. RT dismisses both of their apologies, and first-aid for the injured is sought. later, passing by the library, the High Priestess' attention is drawn by a crash from inside; she then meets the Hanged Man, who knocked over a pile of books. Recovering from his wounds, RT is taunted by the voice in his head, then leaves his room in search of the High Priestess. Her wounds have not entirely healed, and she causes both RT and the Hanged Man a good deal of worry when they start bleeding again. Her own servants tend to her, however, and everyone goes to their own bed.

(starts pg. 800)
The Charioteer starts the day with a quick chat with the High Priestess, in which he learns - vaguely - of her wounds, and of the fact that she and the World are sisters. He soon takes his leave, and the High Priestess returns to her room; soon after, RT arrives to see how she's doing, and they talk. Meanwhile, the Hanged Man has been holed up in the library; finally finding the book he's been looking for, he slips it into his cloak and leaves the library, sneaking up on Justice as he does so. The two head off towards the dining room, while RT narrowly snatches the High Priestess card from its holder, who was about to rip it up. Eventually, she admits that she's just having extreme doubts about beingh ere, but they wind up taking Brindleglow (the High Priestess' dog) for a walk in the courtyard. They talk about the Charioteer, while Justice gives the Hanged Man a slightly-edited version of how the High Priestess got hurt, before finally telling him the whole truth, including the High Priestess' shapeshifting power. The Hanged Man takes Justice to visit the faeries, and when she's feeling better about everything, he hugs her and leaves.

(starts pg. 820)
Finding a stuffed animal in the toy room that looks just like Brindleglow, RT presents it to Justice, and she accepts it with a smile; they both feel better. The World arrives, slightly wet from the rain, and meets Judgement; they head up to his tower to talk and to get the World a towel, while they chat about the Worlds recent combat-lessons. Outside, Akira (formerly Rob) meets Strength, and they chase a frog. The High Priestess and Brindleglow cross paths with Strength and Akira, and everyone heads off to bed; before Strength does so, she stops by the High Priestess' room to try and smooth things out with her sister, which is sucessful.
