Well, we just hit 7500 pages, a pretty huge huge milestone. So now comes the 10,000 page contest.
The first poster on page 10000 (that is not a bump or anything of that sort) will earn themselves 1000k Gaia Gold. Thats 1 million gold. 1,000,000.
Go get em tiger.

Well, the concept is fairly simple. Everyone has a good time while artists choose who they want to give free art to. Some artists have lists, others go by whoever they feel like drawing, while others will only do trades. Artists come in all types, and they're all welcome here.
If you're an artist, lend a hand, give out a few free works. We'll let you advertise if you become a regular.
Non-artists, hang around, have a blast :]
The point of this thread is friendliness and kindness, not "omg free art". People who only post requesting art, instead of commenting or generally engaging the thread, will most likely be ignored.
Oh, and we do lots of casual RP here. Nothing like an epic adventure, just everyday stuff.

You might have noticed by now this thread has some interesting captions. Well, if you can put an image to that caption (meaning art), your art of said caption will get featured in the front post while the caption is up, earn you an easy 2000 gold, and be submitted to an AU Caption Museum thread once the caption changes.

There are a few rules we'd like posters to follow, both artists and non alike.
Trying to contest these with me in the thread is grounds for automatic banning, unless you are a regular, in which case you will get benefit of the doubt. If you have an issue with a rule I've enforced, or you feel your post was wrongly deleted, please PM me.
All these rules are here because all of them have been issues in the history of the thread.
I do not always give warnings on this. You are expected to have read the rules, and as such, you can and will be banned without warning should you deserve.
o1. First of all, please be respectful. If someone draws you a piece of art, don't turn around and critique it unless asked to. Its free, don't be a b***h.
o2. Use proper manners. "Draw me art" or "choose me" won't get you a piece of art. Using "please" and "thank you" will get you plenty. Just look at the regulars.
o3. If you don't make an artists list, don't get angry. They have a list for a reason, and if they didn't choose you, be patient.
o4. Simplicity. If you want to get drawn by more people, keep it simple. A good rule of thumb is being able to see the hair and most of the face. Don't complain if someone refuses to draw you because they don't like how you look, or feel they can't handle it. They're doing this for free.
o5. Advertising. Please don't advertise other threads unless you have approval. Regulars get advertising privileges automatically, everyone else, go elsewhere. Advertising includes Art Stores, Quest Threads, TekTek Dream Avatar Lists, and anything else that is attempting to promote attention AWAY from this thread. First and second offenses are a post deletion, third is a ban. Unsure on whether or not you have advertising privileges? PM me, I'll let you know.
o6. Engage the thread. Make conversation. Have fun, get to know people. Doing this will make it far more likely that you get a piece of art, requested or not.
o7. Comment on others work. By letting someone know that you liked what they did, you're setting yourself up to get a piece of art. A simple "I love how you did that, could you maybe try my avatar?" will work wonders in most cases. Don't forget your pleases and thank yous if you're unsure.
o8. Flaming. I shouldn't have to mention it, but its a no no. Flamers will have their posts deleted, repeat offenders will be reported to a mod and then banned from the thread.
o9. Cybering. Keep it in your e-pants, thank you.
o10. Do try not to stretch the screen with your images. Max size is 500 pixels x500 pixels.
o11. Please don't complain about not being noticed/ignored. This is a rapidly moving thread, and your post might not have been seen, and its really annoying when people complain. If you want people to notice you, talk to them instead of making general posts.
o12. NO BUMPING. Its not necessary and we're not seeking lots of attention. What I consider a bump is up to me and me alone. Regulars posting alone in the thread during down time is okay. People just using emoticons over and over while there are people here is spam, and therefore bumping. I might ban one person and not another. No complaints, my thread, my rules.
o13. If you don't RP, leave it be. Don't try to pick apart other people's fun. D:<
o14. Follow Gaia's ToS (Terms of Service, link found at the bottom of every page). Duh.
o15. Don't quote this first post in its entirety (partial quotation is fine). Doing so makes you look stupid, as well as just clutters the thread. Quoting this post in full will get your post deleted (no matter what that post contains), and a second offense will result in a ban.
o16. Excessive prudishness is not tolerated here. This is NOT prudeonline.com. Most of the individuals in this room are mature adults, or at least mature enough to realize that an innuendo *can* be appreciated. While we ourselves do not tolerate explicit avatars, a little fun is had every now and then. A poster found being a prude and insulting others based on that will receive warnings, and a ban after the first incident.
Oh, and all you artists out there. If you created a piece on someone who you believe to be offline, please PM said person their artwork so they don't have to backtrack through the thread. Thanks <333

Revenge of Queen Anne
For the first time in a very, very long time, I feel happy. It's not a synthetic happy, or even a feeling of content. But rather, real, true, honest-to-god happiness.
And I have to say, it's because of my friends at the AU. With out them, life would truly suck. It also has something to do with Ryan and something to do with Mel and something to do with Crystal and Elle and even Nikole, but it's mostly the AU. I love them all, and I'm glad they're in my life. I'm quite thankful to Vonny, who started the first AU, back during the 5th Anniversary in June of last year.They really changed my life for the better. Before, I was traveling down a dark road of self-hating, and the AU, along with the rest of the gang mentioned helped pull me back. I no longer hate my mother (much) I don't really resent my older brother because he abandoned me (I now understand that my parents threw him out) and I've over come a disorder that I thought might never be cured. I love them as if because they're my family.
