I use to smoke in the past before I got expelled from school and put on probation for it and I found it to be totally harmless. I smoked probably once a week or less and it actually seemed to make me more intelligent after the initial effects wore off. While I was in the detention center I found out that someone actually use weed to cure his friends crack addiction. Everytime they were going to smoke crack he just said, "******** this lets go get high." I think that if weed were legalized it would actually reduce the amount of drug abuse. When I first got into weed I had to buy it illegally. Since I was buying it illegally I had easy access to other illegal drugs and I smoked with people who used other drugs. I began to think that the other drugs must not be so bad if everyone around me uses them. Luckily I never actually used the other drugs but I was really close to using them. If you could buy weed in a safe and legal situation then you would never be exposed to the other illegal drugs or the people who use them. I mean I don't see how weed could possibly act as a gateway drug if you bought it in a coffee shop. Besides all of that, alchohol is waaay worse than marijuana and far more of a gateway drug if put in the same situation as weed. I want to hear a good reason why weed is illegal because so far I have yet to hear one.

drugs have some silly reasons for being illegal. like coke was made illegal by white southeners because they thought it made the slaves want to rape white women.
i think that weed should be legal. less people will do it. alot of people do illegal drugs just cause they are illegal, not saying you are though

Well, I can give you the history, but it's actually just a wave of racist propaganda; just calling it "marijuana" in the earlier 1900s was part of it, because as cannabis, it had long been known as an extremely safe and effective pain reliever.

Well, how old are you guys? I'm not being condescending, it's just that a lot of things change after high school, and some of those goody-goodys will probably surprise you. xd

But also, if you're still in school, don't worry 'bout it. Concentrate on school, and you'll get to try it one of these days.

IMO, tobacco is worse...

That's the opinion of medical researchers, too -- based on things like notably lower rates of cancers (yes, especially lung cancer) among marijuana smokers as compared to cigarette smokers...

Not with any permanance, though. Whlie you're stoned, you're stoned. Sort of like how alcohol messes with cognition while you're drunk (except alcohol also has long-term, cumulative effects on cognition).

Yes, but you have to be a pretty serious toker. Alcohol can also really ******** with your liver, but not if you're only having it on occassion.
So I think it should be legalized.

no, it kills brain cells, but only if you do it all the time. so im still for it being legal
