what is your explination of Ghosts, spirits, and like things?

Are they real? Or not?

I wanna hear about it...


Personally, I /know/ they are, unless I was delusional that night.. Lol....

It would be awesome (but of course, scary) if ghosts were real.

And right now, the "science" being used to "prove" that they are real is laughable.

I know ghosts are real, as much as most people like to deny it, i have a very active one living in my house with me, not bad active though. the biggest thing he (i know it a he, ive seen him) ever did was hand my freind a pen she dropped behind her chair.

other than that. we have a bedroom door that slides open, it was cracked open one day and i walked by and saw something standing by the window inside my room, so i went to the door and looked around, but nothing was in the room. ive been told im delusional but I know something was there. xp

I think everyone really just wants an answer and any way you look at it, someone's going to argue against it. People want to know what happens after death. Personally, I won't say I don't believe until I find absolute proof against them.

this is very true.

i belive in ghosts and extra terrestials. i personaly have seen a UFO. im not saying it was aliens, but it was silver and disk shaped, and just kind of hovered in the sky for a period of minutes next to a cloud. scared the s**t out of me.

I personally believe in ghosts with experiences in my room, but it's not frightening. I think it's a deceased family member trying to with our family luck in their lives. So now, every night, I always say goodnight in my room when I'm about to sleep.

I'd have to say that ghosts are not real. 90% of "ghost encounters" can be explained simply or by scientific means. But of course there are those cases which seem pretty genuine, there are always exceptions. I would have to say that ghost encounters wind up being a lot similar to a lucky penny or a horoscope. Once one posses the knowledge that they've had an odd expirience they are more likely to attribute it to being a ghost.

because my best friend claims he has a ghost in his
back room. yet, im there every day now and
nothing has happened.

I believe in ghosts!
I do! I do!

I have a ghost in my house,
and I have witnesses to prove me also.

One time,
I have a violin tutor that comes to my house every so often,
and there are doors that are kinda annoying to close.
So we were practicing, when those doors closed all by themsleves!
We were the only ones in the house at the time,
and we both were kinda freaked out.

I have other experiences,
but that would take a while for me to type.

I personally believe that ghosts are real. I've actually had some experiences. The most recent one happened today.

I had finished listening to my iPod, which was plugged into my iLamp (iLamp's rule, btw), and I decided to go on the computer. Before I did, I turned off my iLamp, iPod, and put my iPod on "Hold". A few minutes later, I decided to upload some albums onto my iPod, so I went to go get it. When I got into my room, the first thing I noticed (besides the fact that I need to clean it), was that my iPod was that the "Hold" switch was flipped the other way, and my iPod was on and playing, though no sound could be heard because the iLamp was off.

Like I said, I think ghosts are real, but that's just me. The fact that I want to minor in parapsychology also helps to show I believe in ghosts.

If i may build on my above post. I think that those who are aware of these phenomenon and the issuse surrounding are more likely to say that they have had an experience (dur >< wink . You said that you want to minor in parapsychology thus your thoughts about ghosts may be influenced as you stated above.

I'd like to elaborate on my example as well. If one finds a penny on the ground and something that could be considered lucky happens to them they are more likely to attribute it to the lucky penny. I think that the ghost phenomenon is simply a product of the human mind. Most people that have any affiliation with religion are aware that most believe in an after life. When something cannot be explained it usually falls under the category of an act of god. Its the same situation with ghosts when no logcal explanation can be attained we slap a big sticker that says "ghosts did it" right on the notion.

One of my hobbies is reading and watching so called real ghost stories in books, on television and the internet. Though i have never had an experience myself generally the ones people talk about are simply only supported by the word of the person who experienced it. lack of physical evidence makes this topic a grey area. You can spew all this psychic, em reading/ witness testimony you like but none is convincing.

I have no doubt about there being a such thing as ghosts because I've seen the things my computer has done, and I know that ghosts aren't necessarily "spirits" of former people. Many things could be classified as ghosts, like Memories that haunt ones dreams or effect who/ how you are. They are ghosts of your past. And the things I've seen my computer, and many others do, I know they exist.

Ghosts, if they exist, are awfully picky about where and when they appear, and completely undetectable when they want to be.

What do you think, then?

I find it more comical when they say they don't exist and then they change their minds "randomly" lol
