~Re-instate the exchanges in the shops Thanks to Naida-san for the idea
Why?- It uses up a lot of the items to make stuff like ink, headbands, etc. There are some really neat ideas going around to use ink, such as dyeing outfits and stuff. The headbands are a nice touch too, and more user-suggested items could be made. (Probably with the exception of the bugs for clothing wink )
~Use the bugs as fish bait
Why?- It's a good way to get rid of the bugs, and it's an alternative to the using the bait. You could give a certain number of bugs to get a certain grade, or make a completely new brand of bait, and you wouldn't have to pay for the bait.
~Have a Garden in your Home Thanks to animejosse for adding to the idea
Why?- Having a garden will allow you to plant flowers in an orderly manner, and only the kinds you want (you could even open up a flower shop like Rina!) Keep the bugs as pets in a special... umm... 'bug house' in the garden. Or you could use the bugs as fertilizer (it sounds really cruel, I know) and help your flowers grow. (Even hybridize them!) Someone also suggested using the bouquets in homes for decorations.
~Save up the paper to make better items
Why?- Save up a certain amount of paper to make a colorful little notebook and equip it as an item. Or paper boats (have races in the fountains, or have a pond in your garden) or maybe make a game using the paper. Or maybe paper ornaments for your avatar or home, like origami or something. Some have suggested making simple fans (dye them with ink, and add flowers as ornaments), or paper dresses...

Why?- Use up some flowers to make pretty little flower crowns or circlets for your avatar, or make a cute little boutineer for a tuxedo.
~Have more variety in bouquets Thanks to [-Merinn-] for the idea
Why? Well, it would make things more interesting. Someone suggested attaching ribbons to flowers, dyeing them with ink for color variation.
~Exchanges for gold Thanks to Aren Luvs Horses for the idea
Why?- It used up the items in exchange for gold, so you get your money's worth for collecting the junk
~Have something similar to an ant-farm Thanks to nix-wolfwood for the idea
Why? It'll keep the bugs you want in a contained area that allows you to display it.
~Use paper/ink to make crude armor if the Battle System ever develops Thanks to lexithesmex for the idea
Why? It would use up a good portion of your ink and paper stash. And there could be something like "The more paper you use up the more reinforced the armor is" type of thing.
~Use ink (or combinations thereof) to dye your hair Thanks to Ms Dollymop for the idea
Why? It allows you to change the color of your hair without spending a lot of gold to do so.
