Welcome to My First Quest Thread!

Update 5/31/2007: Thanks for all of your help! I have completed my quest for the three Parisian fans. :] You might be noticing a pattern in the sort of quests that I do here. I've decided to dedicate this thread to all of my quests for the lovely, yet ellusive, Prize&Joy items. I'm now questing the gold mountain blue vest and shirt. Be aware that all of your donations are benefiting a budding gambler. xd

Update 5/15/07: Woohoo! Thanks for all of your support during my Red Parisian fan quest. I just can't let these pretty banners go to waste so I am now questing the other two Parisian fans!

Update:Wow. I never expected such a tremendous response. I now have enough gold to buy my corset. I really don't want to just leave this thread though. I think that I will use it again for my new quest so please come in and chat. I'm going to focus on a side quest that I have been working on for months:My Quest for a Red Parisian Fan!

Hello, fellow Gaians! I love Gaia. I've been a part of this wonderful community since November. During that time, I have completed many quests and taken part in many different aspects of the site. However, there is one thing that I have wanted for a very long time: My own quest thread! Yesterday (4/13/2007), I began my most ambitious quest yet. I am saving up my gold for an Elegant Red Satin Corset. I'm extremely excited to have a place to chart my progress towards this item. I hope to meet a lot of fun, interesting, and maybe even generous Gaians during my quest. Donations are very welcome, but in no way expected. I want this thread to be a fun place to come and chat. Please bear with me though. This is my first quest thread and I apologize if it is not up to snuff with the other threads in the forum. Suggestions for improvement are welcome. heart

I have been questing for a red parisian fan for a long time. I think that it would match the Elegant Red Satin Corset better than the floral fan that is meant to go with it. This will be the first time that I have ever bought anything from Prize & Joy. During my first several months on Gaia, I must have given away 1,000 tokens. That sounds generous, but I have to be honest, I really just didn't know what to do with them or that they could help me get nicer clothes. Then one day, while I was browsing the Avatar Arena, I saw a really cute entry and noticed the fan. I asked her where she got it in my comment and she graciously PMed me the answer. At this time, parisian fans were the only types of fans on Gaia. I know that there are Elegant and Egyptian ones now, but I have had my heart set on one of the parisian ones for a long time.

My Motivation?

I clearly remember the first announcement about the addition of the Elegant set to the NPC stores. The avatar in the announcement was wearing the Elegant Red Satin Corset. My eyes were immediately drawn to it. This is a quality piece of clothing that really stands out. I always try to make memorable avatars. Some are memorable for positve reasons. Others...not so much. I have yet to see an ugly avatar wearing an Elegant Red Satin Corset. All of my previous quests have been for accessories, predominantly plushies. My wardrobe is definitely lacking when it comes to clothes.

Thread Mission

This thread is about more than me gaining my Elegant Red Satin Corset. I want this thread to inspire others to go after Gaia items that seem out of their reach and goals in real life. Ongoing Contest
(Because I'm a sucker for pretty banners xp )

I am currently offering 200 gold to the creator/s of a banner/s for my thread. Not all submissions will be accepted (Although, they all have been so far... I love banners!). The banner must fit Gaia's signature restrictions and link to this thread. Don't use the title of my thread for the banner. It is too wordy. I don't like it. Cleverness is appreciated. The banner may use the theme of the Gold Mountain Blue Vest and Shirt or be more general. I plan to quest here for awhile. Also, please do not use my current avatar on the banner. Did I Tell You That I Make Tekteks???

Hehe, well I do! ^_^ Making tekteks is one of my favorite things to do on Gaia. I've won various contests for making them in the past. I've also had many threads making them for other users for fun and to give me a challenge. Since I created this thread, I have not made a single tektek. *insert gasp here* I've actually turned down a few people asking for them, too... redface Well, I would like to integrate tekteking into this quest thread. I am already considering having a tektek environment contest.

For now, I will offer my tekteking services as a bonus to donators. This works the same way as the ads do. If you donate anything to me, you have the right to request a tektek.
