The Winning Flatsale Entry![color=white]

Story

So far, you were NOT having a good day. You forgot your lunch, stepped in dog "remains", sat in gum on the bus, found a lucky penny on the road only to be hit by a bike, stepped into a muddy puddle, and are now having to take the long way home due to your friendly neighbourhood bullies. Not good. So as you're walking alongside the train tracks, the roar of a train is far off. Something catches your eye up ahead on the tracks - a pebble with a tail?

Camet plods along the rain-drenched street hungry, smelly, and mud-soaked (not to metion the wad of Juicy Fruit stuck to the seat of her pants). She has to endure 3 finals at school, added to all this? She begins to theorize that her teachers, along with the world, is out to bring an end to her and her sanity. She sits down at a rock shoved out of place next to the old tracks. Camet hears the sound of a train whistle in the distance.
Uh-oh...the five o'clock train...
She scrambles to her feet determinedly, only to have her attention stolen by what seems to be a child's glass marble. She hears the train thundering nearer with a steady rythm. Only when she takes the marble into her possesion, not entirely sure why she felt an urge to do so, does she notice that it has a short wave of soft hair protruding from the end.
Odd...this looks almost like...
Then it hits her. (No, not the train, silly!)
A Skullmonkey! Oh, wow...this is just what I needed today!
She excitedly cuts a clean section of cloth from her ruined jeans and cradles the pebble in it.

Camet returns to reality and dashes down the suddenly dried, sunny avenue towards her home while clutching the unborn Skullmonkey to her chest.

Cait and Sine haven't met yet, but Cait seems intrigued by the tiny, colourful pebble...she stokes the tail constantly, while the pebble sits and humms softly. Yes, I realize that the Aegis cert shows Cait in her Foci stage, but she actually has been summoned in a formal ceremony. Cait is a baby Leviathan/Humanish creature. Our House

The room upstairs on the far left is the room designated for Cait and Sine. They usually hang out in my room (upstairs right) while I journal on them. The room on the far left downstairs is the entrance room, or just a quick-chat-and-a-spot-of-tea room for short-lived guests. The middle is obviously our kitchen and where we usually eat breakfast. The room on the far right is our entertainment room and another possible bedroom.

Wow, so many things have happened in the past three days! First, I see an auction on Monday and decide to place my bid. Once I was outbid twice, I realized I couldn't afford to keep raising my bid, so I pulled out. Upon visiting the HQ, I absolutly fell in LOVE with Sine's pebble...the flatsale was scheduled to end three minutes later, but Snooze decided to extend it just for my entry. How nice! Well, I entered my last-minute RP and amazingly won 4th place! The other amazing thing is that I got my first-choice pebble. Today, I reported to school for the LAST time until August 26th! This event frees up much more time for logging and RPing my pets, so Sine is lucky because it is the first pet that has recieved almost 100% of my attention.

So yesterday I come to organize a few log entries after Quietsnooze gave it to me. I set the cloth that held Sine's pebble down on the trunk while I did so. As I was tacking Cait's (my Aegis') picture up in the housemates section, Cait came half-crawling into the room, curious and intrigued by what I was doing. She toddled to the chest to investigate this fabled new sibling and unwraped the cloth. (I don't think Cait realized I was watching her out of one eye this entire time.) She cradled the pebble in her reptilian hand, stroking the short, silky tail. Cait has a thing about hair. She sat down, leaning against the trunk, slowly fingering the tail, examining every millimetre of Sine. Sine didn't mind, I don't think, as I could here a soft hum sound from the pebble. It twitched its tail occasionally, but wasn't as lively as it usually is (lively for a pebble, mind you). I decided that this moment wouldn't last forever, so I sat down with a piece of nearby scrap-paper and quickly sketched Sine and Cait as she finally set the pebble down and just examined it.

Houston, we have a problem. While Cait loves Sine dearly, she has also figured out that I do, too. She stole the pebble away from me while I was off-guard, and has hidden it somewhere in the house. I'm not too worried, the cat-flap at the front door was nailed shut before I got Cait, so it has to be inside. She's too attached to the pebble to leave it anywhere alone for an extended period of time. I suspect it's in Cait's trunk, but Cait guards that key with her life. Cait claims that she is "holding Sine hostage" because I am "too lazy to journal about her". I am trying to update both logs, but I want to keep Sine's updated first so I can keep track of it before its birth. Cait will get her chance, for now she is going to be written about even though in another's log. I hope to have found Sine before dawn...I'm in for quite a night.

I also went out today on my own (I left the Jar-kitties in charge of the house) and bought many, many food items. Now Cait, Sine, and I won't have to live off tea and muffins alone, anymore! I special-ordered some items from Gaia Gormet, I hope for them to be in this week.

While I was out, I passed the auction house and heard an auction going on inside for a Fire Elemental Talaye! Seeing as I have been after one since before I adopted Cait, I went in and took a look. The auction had just started, so I figured I'd put a bid in for good measure. I bid my Nightmare scarf, valued at 50,000 gold, and was expecting to be outbid almost immediatly. Miraculously, my bid is still on top! Will Sine and Cait have a new sibling? Wish me luck! My 50k has to hold out until the 12th.

Well, I recovered Sine safely, and got attacked by the pronoun-police for calling Sine a girl. xd Cait seems to have quieted down a bit since I got Sine back, but as been very smug and sly all day, knowing she temporarily outwit me. I went over to the SM HQ to attend a flatsale, it was great. I entered for a friend, even though I can't get another Gen 2.
Here was the prompt: "If you found out you were to be the keeper/ caregiver/ parent to a Skull Monkey, what would your first reaction be?"

*bounces about ecstatically* I shall love it, and hug it, and care for it, and it shall be a happy lil Skull Monkey!

After that I'd begin planning out a personality (trying to base it off the phrase it gets as best as I can because those are so nifty) and figure out different quarks it would have depending on it's gender. Then of course set up a design for it's journal, so it will have a lovely place to store it's experiences, full of pretty-shinies.

Well, first my heart would jump - and then race. And, it would take me a few minutes to realize what had happened, and then I would start grinning stupidly at the computer screen, and start typing really fast to all my friends that I had won, then post relief on the forum, when really I am bobbing up and down in my computer chair.

Yeah, I'd be pretty darn happy.

I'd eat my mother, three chickens, a duck, and a few pairs of shoes. Then I'd dress up in a cow suit and run around a mental hospital screaming "DO I LOOK LIKE YOU'RE WEARING PANTS?!" while beating the patients with a rubber chicken. I'd finish off my celebration by sticking rabid squirrels in a nursing home.

Oh dear... well, my absolute first reaction would be... "Hm.. I bet I could hide this from my sister- I SAID I was buying it for her, but this thing's small enough to fit underneath my shirt, after all- she'd never have to know." eek Of course, I can't forget about how Sk terrorized me when I got Tawn, by putting NAIR in my shampoo. So I guess I'll fork him over, or her... or it.... stressed yeah, I couldn't take the pebble; I'd miss pronouns too much.

The lake, pyrotechnics, and...HATCHING?!
06.12.04 and 06.13.04

Yesterday, I was unable to get online, but I don't think I missed TOO much. I brought Sine with me when I went out. I had an eye appointment at noon, whereupon I learned that I could be a jet fighter pilot without any glasses. At 3:00 I learned my friend had chopped her hair off, dyed it red, and gotten contacts. I just think she might be in the witness protection program, at that rate.

At 7:00, however, I bundled Sine's pebble up in my shawl (fancy dress, you know) and we departed for Navy Pier (Lake Michigan, Chicago). My Gram wanted to treat me to a dinner cruise on the lake, which would end in fireworks off a barge. We seated ourselves, and after about an hour, our food arrived. I took my shawl and placed the bundle on the window ledge. About halfway through my Chocolate Mousse Cake, the shawl started to rustle! The half-brained Camet decides 'Hmm. Let me open it [in this crowded ship] to see what that was.' completely forgetting that

a) Sine was inside
b) She was in the middle of a throng of people

As I unwrapped the shawl, a furry head popped out of it! I spazzed in realization: 'OH MAI GAWD, SINE, YOU GREW!'
"What was that, dear?"
"Um, nothing Gram..."

I ran out onto the top deck to admire my prize. I sat down in the corner and carefully uncovered a little blue head. She smiled at me, but then suddenly turned her interests towards the Lake. She pranced up to the edge and eagerly looked at the black waves below.
"Mummy, wha's tha?" Sine pointed to the waves.
"That'd be water, Lake Michigan."
"I like water. Les come here more offen, mummy!"

With that, we heard a loud BANG overhead. I clasped onto Sine and pulled her back to the sheltered protection of the shawl. The fireworks had started! I positioned the bundle in my lap and pulled a small section of the shawl off her face. She ended up falling asleep in my lap. I thought that this was a perfect occasion for a birth.

After fireworks, we filed off the ship and headed back up the pier to go home. I decided, however, that Sine needed to see Chicago properly. Which might not be a good idea at 1:00 am. So, I took her in the Ferris Wheel to suffice for now. As we were nearing the top, she climbed onto my head and peered out at the lake. She wasn't paying attention to the amazing architecture that most people would marvel at, but rather at the lake.
"Mummy, where does the...lake...end? It jus keeps goin on..."
I told her I didn't know. She replied that she would find out one day.

When we got home, I remembered the bakery order! It had arrived at our doorstep while we were out. I brought it inside, and set it on the table. My Gram was home, so I figured it was safe to bring Sine out. She sat on the table, anxiously awaiting the unraveling of the white package. It was marked 'Gaia Gormet, Catering by Lizzle'. I slowly untied the package.
