Your dictionary probably describes the Dreamscape as a fluffy, pink, rainbow paradise with prancing unicorns and candy clouds of love. I'm sorry, but the reality of it all took a u-turn and headed straight back down into the pits of hell. The Dreamscape is a whole different chapter honey, and this isn't it.

This world is separated into four separate lands: Bestia, Operis, Incultra, and Atrum, each with their own special... qualities. Bestia is home to those who belong in the wild. Lush forests and murky swamplands are sprawled across this sector, a perfect habitat for those who live there. In Operis lies a once flourished city that has now decayed into a rusted and molded clutter of decrepit sky scrapers. Incultra, a dreadful place, much worse than our Sahara and Gobi deserts, is an arid sand-land that has no end in site. And finally, we have the darkness, Atrum. A cold, mysterious abyss that hides wandering spirits and haunted citadels.

Hellish to most, home to others; Bestia, Operis, Inclutra, and Atrum exist because of you. Yes, you and your sappy little Dreamscape. What you experience from day to day in your precious Dreamscape is reflected in Nightscape, a sickly distorted parallel to who you are. Proportions are bent, frequencies disturbed, and normalcy is a false disposition. Joy reflects misery, comfort casts fear, laughter emits screams. Every single action in Dreamscape has an equal and opposite reaction in... Nightscape.

Welcome to the Nightscape, where creatures that spawn from our greatest fears reside. These... uh... puppies, leave you experiencing feelings of helplessness and extreme anxiety, created from your simple every day phobias. Maybe you have a fear of the dark, maybe a fear of frogs, or maybe... well, you get the idea. You have a fear, and you also have what we like to call a Nightmare to represent that particular fear. Now, there isn’t one large group of Nightmares, no no. Nightmares come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors you know. Would you perhaps like to take a look-see for yourself? Be wary though, some bite.

The first stage is the Fear stage. In this stage they are merely the fear that they represent, and usually just look like a cloud of smoke, with a distinctive trait. Nightmares are RPable in this stage, but they do not have bodies yet. They are like spirits, you can communicate with them, and they can manipulate and possess things.

The second stage is the Terror stage. In this stage the Fear has developed and formed a weak body. Depending upon the form of the future demon, the little Terror may look like a child, or some kind of small animal, though this is not true for ALL. They will have some disturbing traits based on the phobia they represent. For your fear to evolve to this stage, you must RP them at least 3 times in your journal. (Moderately lengthed 1 or 2 paragraph posts at least)

The third and last stage is the Demon stage. At this point your nightmare has fully developed into a terrifying demonic being. The demon has alot of the same characteristics of the Terror stage, but is bigger and more frightening. Each Demon is very different. For them to evolve to this stage from a terror, you must RP them at least 10 times. (10 moderately lengthed paragraph posts)

Guardians: The 'leaders' of the different regions in Nightscape. (Auction or Events only) These have the RP requirement of twice a month.

Basically, the gist of it is.. you 'draw' your own Nightmare. There are two winning categories: Most creative, best graphics. There will be four winners, two most creative, two best graphics. So you just enter, and you can get the chance to win in either categories, but you can not win in both. And the best part, you don't have to pay!


All entries will be displayed below next to the artist. Please send all entries to N i g h t m a r e s.

What you win:
-A FREE NIGHTMARE!
-Best quality winners will get the picture of the NM they drew as their NM!
-Most creative winners 'can' get Kiddo to redraw their NM if they wish.

Rules:
-You can enter as many drawings as you want, but please, no half-arsed jobs just to put in as many attempts. Work more for quality over quantity.
-Avoid doing cosplays. You can, but that doesn't mean you'll win as easily as someone with originality.
-All NMs are demons in this. So it'll level when you RP it.
-Along with the PM, you may add a description if you like, mind you, the description would be excluded from the entries list below.

I know what you’re thinking. How in the heck would Nightmares breed? Well, in a very odd way! There is nothing sexual about this experience, and the two Nightmares don’t even have to be attracted to each other! (Though it DOES happen sometimes) Nightmares do not ‘mate’, but acquire ‘partners’. When two Nightmares (of any fear or type) come together to team up on their humans, they form a bond, a partnership. The two Nightmares share the responsibility of scaring both their own AND their partner’s human. And thus, the humans develop another phobia for the other Nightmare. For example:

Lucy’s Nightmare is the Fear of the Dark, who has partnered up with the Fear of Needles. After interacting with the Fear of Needles for so long, Lucy has developed a new fear, which creates a new Nightmare. Thus, the new Nightmare was born from the Fear of the Dark AND Fear of Needles. The babies will resemble both parents as well.

Get it? I know it might be a bit confusing. Just ask questions in the thread if you need to. <3 sweatdrop

And what exactly is born? ‘Born’ Nightmares are a little different than the normally created ones. Their fears are not acquired over a lifetime, they’re created much more quickly. The first stage is different than the normal fear stage. They fuel off of their parent Nightmares, and are able to take an actual shape. Though, this shape is the equivalent of a young toddler, or baby animal (depending on type) and is dependant on the parents to protect it from more powerful Nightmares.

Also, the created fear can vary. If the Fear of Fire and the Fear of Water ‘mate’, it could create a new Fear of Water or Fire, OR something completely different. In this case, it would be the Fear of Steam. There is no way to tell what you will get until the Nightmare is born! Understand? Good!

[!] ‘Breeding’ will produce 2-4 Nightmares.
[!] If you own both Nightmares, you CAN ‘breed’ them, but the rate will be lowered to 1-3 Nightmares.
[!] Each owner will send 5k PER baby. (Owner as in who the new baby is owned by)
[!] Babies can be given away, but they will stay connected to the parent’s humans until they grow into the terror stage. Then they can decide whether to stay, or move on to another human of their own. (Thus, the new owner could come up with their own human character)
[!] Nightmares must be at the demon stage to breed.
[!] Breeding requires 5 RPs, (as in whole finished RPs, not posts) 2 of which involve the two Nightmares together (though Ferret is an easy whimp, so you can get away with less RPs, but you have to pay 10k per baby, unless I say otherwise).
[!] Journal Entries count as 1/2 of an RP (as in, if you had 6 decent journal entries, it'd count for 3 RPs). This ONLY applies to Journal Entries with the Nightmare in them. If it's just your human talking it doesn't count. And you still need 2 RPs of the couple interacting.
[!] Nightmares couples may only breed once, though they CAN breed with other Nightmares up to two times. (An additional 5 RPs would be needed, no reusing!)
[!] If you send in 10 RPs, an extra baby will be guaranteed on top of the ones rolled.

Nightmares, like most evil entities, are very greedy! If their human gives them gifts or offerings, it is very likely that the Nightmare will come to respect the human easier. Meaning they gain levels easier.

[!] Why do your customs cost so much more then the flat price?
-Because these pets are all different, meaning I take the time to draw AND color each one. With the flat sales you see what you get, and there is no compromising. But I try my best to make the customs exactly like you want, which is alot harder. Which is why I charge more.
[!] May I use items to pay for nightmares, not just pure gold?
-Yes, but ONLY if I approve them before hand. But I prefer gold.
[!] Are you willing to do pet trades?
-Perhaps, PM offers to the mule.
[!] Are these pets RP required?
- In a way. I won't take away Nightmares if not RPed, but they won't grow or gain levels if you do not RP.
[!] How long does it take for them to change stages?
- It varys on how often you RP and how soon you meet the requirements.
[!] Do they have genders?
- Not really, though some have obvious female or male traits.
[!] So... Are they breedable?
- Indeed, this is a new option!
[!] What does 'Type: (feminine/masculine/or animal)' mean?
- 'Types' are whether the Nightmare looks like a girl, boy, or an animal of some kind.
[!] I want to be a Guardian or General!
- Guardians are pre-made Nightmares of status. They can only be aquired threw auctions or other events. Generals, however, are roles that Nightmares can aquire threw lots of RP. The requirements have not been decided on yet.

Yes, Nightmares are a roleplay pet. You have to roleplay your Nightmare for it to evolve and gain levels. Check the 'Stages' post for exact requirements.

[!] How much roleplaying is worth one level?
-It is different for everyone. It could be 2 or 3 posts per level, if you write a hecka lot. If you write smaller posts, then it will be about 5 posts.
[!] How do I roleplay Nightmares?
-Check the RP Guild for rules and guidelines, it has everything RP related there!
[!] Can I roleplay my Nightmare in different threads, or with other pets?
-Sure, as long as the other pets fit the Nightmare setting. (It wouldnt make sense to play a Nightmare with a mid-evil style dragon, for example.)

After the Nightare evolves into it's demon stage it starts to change, getting more and more tamed by their humans. Once a Nightmare has grown to level 10, it is considered that the demon has now been mastered. It is ready to create it's counterpart- Hope. A Hope is a completely new and different pet. They are similar in appearance to it's Nightmare parent, but they are not freaky nor scary. They are very beautiful, in fact. They will look the opposite of the Nightmare it was born from.

Hopes are suppose to be hard to get. They are a reward for people that RP alot. So don't complain if you don't RP.
