Touch of Spring, Taste of Easter
A Dragon Kyns Event!

Welcome to the Dragon Kyns Spring & Easter Event! This is a rather small event (compared to some of our other ones), and we're letting everyone flex their creative muscles this time around! Or, of course, you could go egg hunting! There will be random freebies given out, and lots of things to look into doing. Just be sure to stick around and read all the rules!

If you've never heard of us before, please click on our banner in this post to go to our main page and check out our rules. All standard thread rules apply here, as well as the specific event rules that are laid out. Essentially, be kind to everyone and don't get upset if you don't win - it's just very impolite and we want to be happy for the people that did win. ^.^

General Event Rules
1. No whining, complaining, puking, moaning, begging, crying, screaming, etc. We don't want it, it makes you look like a fool, and we're all better off without it.
2. What the owner's say goes. No arguing. Period.
3. Judgements of events are final. As most of this is art-based (though not talent-based) it is a matter of opinion. And although your opinion may differ from ours, you do realize that that is the risk of submitting work.
4. All trades go the mule (Kyn_Caretaker) and should be properly titled. If you already have a trade going on with the mule, then please send a PM to discuss how to handle things. Obviously, we want everyone to be able to participate even if they are waiting on breedings to be accepted, but we don't want to accept breeding payments when breedings aren't done either. If you take things into your own hands without letting us know first, it gets very confusing and it's likely to put behind your breedings and having your trade accepted.
5. Rules may be altered and added as we see fit.

It seems that that stupid rabbit is at it again! It wasn't bad enough that he had to run into the thread and leave weird things behind - he seems to be doing it all over the place now! I really think that someone should help poor Aedan collect these strange things before it all gets out of hand!

~*~ General Event ~*~
All you have to do in order to join-in the regular hunting is to stick around this thread and the main thread. Post and chat a bit, but try not to bump too too much. On occasion, the rabbit is known to pop in and leave something behind. The first person to quote whatever is left behind will get it!

~*~ Point (aka Big) Event ~*~
The larger event will deal only with older posts made in the main thread, and will have its own special page in the guild. The first step to joining this one is to go ahead and join the guild - it is free after all! Next, there will be sign-ups opened for a certain amount of time, and an entry fee. The name of the game is to find as many eggs that the rabbit has hidden in the old posts of the main thread as possible - and before others do the same of course. People will receive points based on what they find: one point per egg located. You can claim your points by posting in the guild thread with the page number and link to where you found the egg at. Remember, that each egg can only be claimed once! So it's based on speed and determination. The person with the largest number of points when it's all over will win a big prize! This event will have an end date, but we will also close early if all the eggs are found.

To sign-up for the Point Event, simply post in the thread in bold, violet font 'I wanna chase the rabbit!'. Make sure to send the trade of 250g to the mule (Kyn_Caretaker) straight after, and title your trade "Egg Hunting - pg.# (where your post is)".

So, what's the big prize of the event? A custom, unedited kyn! However, your kyn must in some way follow the theme of spring or Easter. Even if you don't win, you can still trade in your points in our small shop for some interesting things!

Once Waarufu has confirmed your claim, you'll be placed on the 'Received Prize' list in this thread regardless of where it was that you got the egg from. Specific instructions will be posted in that thread that you'll have to follow. Eggs CANNOT be given to someone else, so if you don't want one, then you best not snatch it up. ^.^

Egg Coloring
Dip 'Em in Ink!

Event Status: CLOSED - Judged!

Are you a really creative person, but don't seem to want to extend but so much effort? That's perfectly alright, because we're in the same position! Choose one or more of the pre-designed eggs below and decide on colors to be placed to their markings. Each section of the egg is numbered, so all you have to do is copy the numbers down and place a color there. If you want to get fancy about it, you could even provide us color swatches using paint, or color the egg yourself. You aren't going to be judged on anything but how interesting the egg will look once it's colored! And the best part about this is that there will be one winner for each egg pattern, and that person will get something made with that pattern and their colors. Essentially, that means a semi-custom!

You can enter as many times as you want for as many eggs as you want, but there are two catches - there is an entry fee and we aren't telling you which egg is which. The thing is, with that rabbit running around and those strange eggs popping up, we're not entirely sure what these could turn out to be!

Waarufu is in charge of judging this competition, so be sure not to ask her for help or suggestions. Also, all entries must be posted in this thread, using the proper form provided. If you are going to submit multiple times, keep in mind that each time you submit you will need to fill out the form again. Trades must be sent right away, and be labeled correctly. This means that the title of the trade must be "Egg Coloring- pg.## (where is your post with your entry at?).

Alright, I do suppose that we could tell you what we think the rabbit might have chosen. It's just difficult because he's thrown them in all these bags. It looks like one of them is a European Male, and we know for sure that one is a familiar - it's got a dragonfly around it so you can be sure it's one of the new ones too. Another is a Gargoyle female, we hope, and the other we guess to be a Japanese male.

The entry fee is 250g per egg you color. You do have to pay for the paints we're letting you use after all. ^.^;

As an extra note, the eggs provided for this competition are not the actual eggs you will receive if you win. We can't just go around letting you paint all over real kyn eggs - that's not good for the babies!

Egg Designing
Patterns, Patterns, Everywhere!

Do enjoy thinking up designs, but aren't so much a fan of plotting colors? Love to cut out things and glue them back together again? Then perhaps you're in the right place! The rabbit is giving everyone who wants to the opportunity to make their own egg. There are even two different competitions for people to choose from, each with up to three winners!

The theme that we ask you to keep in mind while designing is spring. While you may place color onto your designed egg if you want to, Waarufu has the ability to entirely change your color scheme if you win. This is a design competition, not a coloring one. We will, however, provide you with some colors that we might like to see in designs. These are just suggestions, and you are not even asked to color your eggs. In fact, we'd rather prefer if you didn't. Waarufu is also the one to be judging all the entries, so don't try and bug her about what she thinks before actual judging.

Also, there is no limit to the number of times you may enter the event, but you must submit the form and payment for each egg.

~*~ Design from Scratch ~*~
For those with the a little bit of drawing talent and a great lot of creativity, we offer the Design from Scratch competition. You are allowed to place whatever it is that you want on an egg as far as patterns and markings are concerned. You are not, however, allowed to do any editing. Meaning that the egg must remain an egg as it was given to you. Paint all over it, sketch all over it, but don't glue wings (or anything else for that matter!) to it. Just save the image of the blank egg to your own computer and scribble away. When you're done with it, be sure to use an image hosting site like photobucket.com or tinypic.com to host the egg so that we can judge it.

Creating a Story
Show Your Thoughts

Evetn Status: CLOSED - Judged!

If you think that you're good with writing, then this is the competition for you. There will be anywhere from one to three winners with similar prizes, depending on the number of entries that are received. All entries will be judged by Waarufu after the close of the event - not before (so please don't bother asking her what she thinks). Make sure that you write enough to respond to the question, but don't feel like you have to write any certain amount. Just, please, nothing too long. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation will count against or for you, as well as creativity. This means that you're not allowed to use chatspeak or any sort of abbreviations for words - type it out just like if you were writing a novel to be published.

All entries must be PMed to the mule (Kyn_caretaker). Unfortunately, if you post your entry we will have to ignore it. On the brighter side of things, this event is entirely free to enter, but you may only submit one entry - so make sure it's good! And if you're entirely stumped about what to write, just pay attention. The rabbit will certainly be popping up enough!

Creating a Story section is complete, as well as Egg Coloring. Egg Hunting is pretty much done as well. Haven't even started on Egg Designing, but that's relatively simple. Looks like we'll be opening up on March 30th! ^.^ Dates for events are being set as pages are being completed.
