The Merry sat in the still water. Corin stood against the railing, her black
hair sticking to her face in the heat. She rubbed her eyes, remembering
her old crew that was hoplessly slaughtered, holding back the tears for her
dead friends."Well Corin, I'm glad you joined
our crew, instead of any other," her new captain, John Farrel. "Yah, I'm
kinda glad too, though I can't say much after only being on board for two
whole hours. However, I love the ship." Corin smiled. John smiled.
"Looks like a big one's comin'" A tall man said, coming up behind them.
"Yes, it does." John looked around at the still ocean water. "Yes it does."
-------
Later that evening, after the crew finished the grub Corin and two other
people of the crew, Mark, and Tom, listened to the old man with one blue
and one black eye, Pete, as he told a story all of them had heard maybe
once over their lives, the prophecy of the chosen one. Corin fidgited anxiously when
John called her back, a tall shodowed man beside him. " Corin, I'd like you
to meet my son, he just got back, unfortunately, he missed the
story....Alex, meet Corin, Corin, Alex." Alex held his hand out, Corin
shook it. He was alot taller than her, with dirty-blond hair, and grey eyes.
Corin smiled. John turned to her, " You must be tired, go to bed."
"Good night." She said, heading to her quarters, fingering the old scars on
her strong shoulder. That night, she woke up crying with the horrible
dream that she had had for several times in the last ten years, the one full
of deaths in her past.
