Biography: At the tender age of eight, Tomoe Hotaru lost her mother in a fire. She then lived with her father, Professor Tomoe Souichi. After a lab accident at a young age, Hotaru lost her life. Tomoe Souichi then agreed to sell his soul inorder to save the life of his daughter. During this transaction, the messiah of silence overtook Hotaru's body and lived in dorment inside her.
Hotaru did not have any friends due to the strange powers she possessed. She had mysterious powers along with the ability to heal injuries. This made things tough on the sickly girl. Until finally, one day she befriended Tsukino Chibi Usa. Their friendship instantly began to bloom and things were looking up for the young girl. Chibi Usa and Hotaru became the best of friends until the outer sailor senshi tried to prevent this friendship for the protection of the future princess.
The outer senshi believed Hotaru to be the sailor senshi of destruction, Sailor Saturn. In order to prevent her awakening, Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto attempted to kill Hotaru to save the world. Hotaru then eventually disappeared as her body grew weak from having three spirits actually inside herself.
At the disappearance of her friend, young Tsukino Chibi Usa went to investigate the home of her friend and was kidnapped. It was then, Hotaru was overtaken by the Mistress Nine after feeding upon Chibi Usa's Pure Heart Crystal. The senshi were then put against Hotaru in order to try and save Chibi Usa's life. Yet, Sailor Moon, Tsukino Usagi, refused to give up on Hotaru. After tricking Sailor Moon, Mistress Nine was able to obtain the Holy Grail and begin to summon Pharaoh 90. Being attacked by Pharaoh 90, Mistress Nine sat in the arms of Tomoe Souichi who was able to contact his daughter. Hotaru was able to use the memories of those people important to her in order to defeat the Mistress Nine and remove her from the body.
Sailor Uranus and Neptune then scold Sailor Moon for bringing about the end of the world. It is then Sailor Saturn appears before Sailor Moon. Sailor Saturn explains that she is no longer Hotaru Tomoe, but a spirit that had been living within her body. Saturn then explains to Sailor Moon how she is feared because she possesses powers that could destroy a planet, however, once she uses her powers she will be destroyed as well. In order to defeat Pharaoh 90, Saturn then rushes to defeat Pharaoh 90, but Sailor Moon is able to use the purity of her heart to transform into Super Sailor Moon and save the senshi of silence. Tomoe Hotaru is then once again reborn as a little baby.
As the crisis of Galaxia approached, Tomoe Hotaru was called upon by Meioh Setsuna, Sailor Pluto. Believing her power would be needed, Pluto brought Hotaru to a battle. It was then, Hotaru was attacked and unleashed her powers granting the outer senshi with new powers. Hotaru then aged quickly both physicly and in mental abilities. Within a week she had been fully grown and was quite intellegent. One night after predicting a new crisis, Hotaru is visited by Sailor Saturn whom forces her to recall the events of the past and force her to reawaken as the Senshi of Destruction and Rebirth, Sailor Saturn.
The senshi of Saturn then predicts the Inner Senshi's danger as she arrives and grants Sailor Moon her true power. Shortly after Hotaru explains to the senshi of the danger that is approaching the earth. In order to save her prince and princess, Hotaru travels with Chibi Usa to attempt and save Mamoru Chiba from the evil grasp of Nehelenia whom trapped Mamoru in a nightmare. Deciding there is no other choice, Saturn attacks Nehelenia in attempt to end everything and sacrafice, however, is stopped by Sailor Chibi Moon, Tsukino Chibi Usa. She is told to believe in the Princess andPrince, but shortly after is sealed within a mirror. Tsukino Usagi was able to save her and the other senshi from the mirrors and defeated Nehelenia.
The next ordeal then approached with the crisis of Galaxia. Hotaru did not appear in the battle until near the end when she protected Sailor Moon by using her Silent Wall. It is then the Outer Senshi knew it was their mission to protect the princess from Galaxia. After losing the lives of her comrades, Sailor Saturn instructs Sailor Star Fighter to believe in her Princess. During the battle Hotaru is told that Galaxia was the one who awakened her in order to steal her star seed for she could not have premature seeds. Uranus and Neptune then sell their souls to Galaxia and take the lives of Pluto and Saturn. In the end, Sailor Moon was able to defeat Galaxia and Hotaru once again is returned to life.
Personality: Being a very calm and quiet girl, Tomoe Hotaru is well mannered, as well as, smart. She hates it when people pollute or do things that aren't natural. Getting angered when people threaten her princess, Hotaru is very loyal to Tsukino Usagi. Brave and strong, Hotaru does not like to show her fear very often and always remains serious at times in which the fate of their future is at stake. After being lonely for so long, Hotaru likes company and is happy when she is surrounded by friends. The young girl is able to foresee danger and has the same senses as the other outer senshi, however, it is different than theirs as well.

Elemental Power: Her powers have to deal with silence, destruction and/or rebirth hence why she is known as the senshi of silence, destruction, and rebirth.
Henshin: Saturn Crystal Power Make-up!
Attacks: Silence Glaive Surprise -Saturn holds up her silence glaive as she prepares herself for the end. A sphere of energy appears around her as she summons her special powers of destruction. Saturn then swings her blade to kill her oppenent. However, this ability also takes Saturn's life as well. This attack is used when Saturn knows it is necessary and the only way to end things is by sacraficing her own life.
Silence Wall - By waving her Silence Glaive in the air, Saturn is able to call forth energy which forms into a barrier to protect whatever she wishes. Saturn uses this attack many of times to protect her comrades as well as herself from enemy attacks.
Physical Weaknesses: Due to being ill when she was younger, Hotaru has problems when it comes to running or doing physical activities. She is very stubborn at times which caused her to become exhausted and extremely ill.

Hotaru is the Senshi of Silence, Destruction, and Rebirth. As one of the four outer senshi, it is Sailor Saturn's job to protect her princess and Earth from outside invaders.

Tsukino Usagi, Sailor Moon - Tsukino Usagi is Tomoe Hotaru's Princess and friend. Hotaru is very loyal to Usagi.
Mizuno Ami, Sailor Mercury - Mizuno Ami was someone Hotaru looked up to before she was reborn. She was friendly with Ami however, not very close.
Hino Rei, Sailor Mars - Hino Rei is a friend of Hotaru, however, they are not all too close.
Kino Makoto, Sailor Jupiter - Kino Makoto, as with Rei and Ami, is friends with Hotaru, however, not particularly close with her.
