Well well well, looks like we've survived yet another year! Congrats to all of us! In the past year some have left gaia, and many many many have joined gaia, so welcome all, oldbies and newbies, well learned and confused, MOD's and common Gaians. This is a contest I have held for a few years now, the first being an impromptu one that lasted only a couple hours. However, I so enjoyed this contest in the past few years so again, I shall hold it. smile

It's very simple, we've made it yet another year, now you get to tell me why or why not you will be here for the next anniversary ball. That's it, why or why not. NOTHING. Absolutely nothing! It's all free! All you have to do is post an entry and voila! You could win!

Most indeedy it's worth your time. There are six prizes, first prize of course is 1k, second is 500g, and third is 200g.

Yes, six. There are two competitions going on here and the first, second and third prizes go for both.

Well, one is you telling me why you're going to be here next year to celebrate again, and the second is you telling me why you AREN'T going to be here next year to celebrate with us again.

Because I am OCD.
I am easily addicted to things (such as gaia)
Started playing months ago and I just want to get my goals.
I currently have 300Kg I need to earn for my two dream avi's that are both evidently cheap.
Being on gaia keeps me on top of working out my paypal account so that eventually I will be able to buy the donation items with my change since currently I have to earn the gold to buy the donation items (which is why it is taking me forever on my quests lol)
Another reason is I work on a computer answering phones so i have a lot of spare time in which I spend earning gold on gaia and posting in forums and in my favorite guild.
I will not quit until I atleast hit angel wings once get both my dream avi's a dark halo and a chyuku norisu scarf (sp)
In which case when I aquire these I will still quit because I will want to show off my avi at that point.
Another reason... lol. Is that my bf and another RL friend of mine play on here and my bf has been on for years and I am extremely competitive and will have to show him up.

LoL. Is this a good enough reason?! hehe.

Reason I'll probably be here next year: Because I am stubborn and naive and truly believe that, eventually, I will earn gold faster than the market inflates, and I will be able to buy lots of ever-so-pretty, shiny things. Nothing shall crush my dreams! Also, as long as my calc assignments keep getting longer, I will always find time to throw the book violently against the wall and post in the forums. This brain was not meant for doing related rates problems, people.

And my guild gives me a very convenient location from which to inflict my poetry upon the world at large. Or at least a small portion of that world.

The people I have met, for the most part, on Gaia are kind and decent.

Gaia provides me with fun jigsaw puzzles, and fishing.

Charities that I have donated to have helped many people. I enjoy seeing people happy when they get their wanted items.

Where else can a girl feel like she has accomplished something when she completes a quest?

Two words- "dress up"!

The trade symbol makes my eyes light up.

The letter symbol intrigues me.

Gaia provides conversation for nearly every topic imaginable! I can talk to people from all over the world.

I am a member of thirty-five guilds.

What else am I going to do with my evenings?

Gaia administrators have come up with a clever storyline.

The likelihood that the above will happen is like someone getting hit by lightning three times... currently I've been struck twice now so am a tad worried and avoid going out into thunderstorms. In fact I cower under the furnace in the basement until it is long over. That and I just have no life worth living so need to resort to creating new ones online. That and my children have me so addicted to this place I'm having too much fun to leave!

Another reason why i'll be here next year: I have no life. lolz, no I do play sports and outdoor games like normal people but it's kinda useless if you sometimes have no one to play with (you know how like sometimes everyone has something to do but you?) well then if that happens, I resort to the computer!!! and that's when gaia comes in, it helps pass the time...

I've been on Gaia since '04. I've seen a lot of changes since I used to type www.go-gaia.com into my browser. I remember things like the linkslist, the Personals forum, old-school layouts, and a time when pinklinks and giftboxes weren't as hard to come by as they are today.
But anyways, what'll keep me here, is the interesting people I've met, and keeping up with whatever crazy thing the developers release next. BATTLE SYSTEM
Plus, there's the whole dress up your avi thing.
And the accumulation of imaginary wealth. . .

The reason i'll be On gia for the next ball is because i'm gonna have a little girl... and when one has a baby... one has no social life, and is forced to pretend that she does infact have a social life..... with.. the..computer ~strokes computer and begins carrying on a conversation~.. oh.. hehe...

But the same reason applies why i won't be on gia next year... because this baby may prevent me from even pretending that i have a social life...

My children will have graduated high school and demand to enter University. Then they'll leave just to go work at McDonalds.
