Age: 1 year - 5 years
If your child's personality hadn't started manifesting before, it is certainly showing now. Beware the Terrible Twos! By this stage, most kids are eating solid foods or are well on their way to getting there. They are also learning to walk and talk properly, as well as get into things they shouldn't be.
Child

Age: 5 years - 10 years
The little baby is now a kid, and childhood means the start of whatever schooling you have in store. They are beginning to form opinions and start to need you a little less. Their fine and gross motor skills are improving, and some may be interested in sports, music, or other activities. Let their talents shine! Be sure to keep up with discipline, though.

Hormones, anyone? By this stage, the kids are now engrossed in whatever schooling and activities you've put them into. Teenager
Age: 14 years - 17 years
The hormones may have calmed down, but your child sure hasn't. They may start bringing home boyfriends and girlfriends, and they tend to be out more than at home. The discipline you did (or didn't) instill in them as a child is definitely playing a part now. They may be getting their first job now as well. Regardless, emotions are running high, and your support is still crucial.

Young Adult
Age: 17 years - 19 years
Most kids are past rebellion at this point, though some decide to take independence to the extreme. Most of the emotional turbulence is over. By this time, most kids are out on their own or on their way to becoming so. Some are at school, some are working, and some are doing both. Romance is definitely in the air for some, while others are still struggling through lingering crushes.
