UPDATE AGAIN: The main thread, named "EndGame" has opened here!

UPDATE: I have been informed that there is already a shop called "Children of THE Gods". Due to the similarities in the names, I need suggestions for a new name for this concept. PLEASE read the front page and get a feel for the idea before making a suggestion.

Introduction

Children of Gods is a massive collaborative effort that Ohmer, Fallen_Kitsune_Thief, and myself have been working on for a few weeks. We believe that it has reached the stage that we can place it into its concept pitching phase. We're all really excited about this, and we're going to try to get as many other people as possible excited about it, too.

Children of Gods is set to be a huge, RP intensive B/C set in the twilight of human civilization. That's the romantic way of putting it. What that means is that these characters are RP intensive to a point where not RPing could be considered criminal. The characters are all pawns in a massive, unorthodox game of chess, so not playing would be like letting your chosen god lose. The Game, as the characters call it, is a secret war waged in the back streets of The City by Godlings/Prophets - children selected by gods of ancient myth to be their avatars in the coming collapse of civilization. The Game itself is use of powers bestowed by these Gods to wage wars with the avatars of other Gods. But the kids just think it's a game.

The end result? One god wins.

In-Depth plot and setting

The RP takes place in a large city sometime in the year 21xx. Specifically, the RP takes place in the back alleys and abandoned districts, with the children making every effort to hide their game from the "Men in Suits," who they believe don't know how to play. Characters will start with one or two features indicating their allignment and as they become better players/carry out missions from their gods/gain followings of 'Mortals' they will gain more features and gradually become like their god's presence on earth. They will also age somewhat.

The Men in Suits are MIB agents aware that something fishy is going on. However, they can't quite pin it down and so are working to get one of the "players" into their custody. Players, thusly, have to work to accomplish their goals as assigned by themselves, their gods, and also to avoid the roving MIB npc agents.

The Game is like a giant, multiplayer game of chess where the lines between white and black are constantly shifting. Characters begin as newbies to the game, just discovering the play and workings of it, and then move up in the ranks as they become acclaimated. They use their powers for combat, espionage, sabotage, and general trickery. Strategies will vary, alliances will shift constantly, and at the end of the day, it's every god for themself. The ultimate goal is to play the game to a point where your enemy surrenders to you, either becoming your underling, dying, or withdrawing from the game.

Ranks will be given based on amount RPed, variation RPed, and actions played. Various items will exist within the game that characters will be able to trade to Persephone for information. A score-and-locations board will always be available.

Every character will be totally unique - a unique god, unique lineart, unique story prompts.

Character Details

Characters, aside from some select NPCs, are human children who start with some godlike attributes. Their home-life is a mystery. The point is not to play the guardian - it is to play the child. You can give them a backstory, but it's not the core of the character.

The characters will have a few seperate stages.

Stage 1 - Wanderer/Newbie The character has just joined The Game and is doing their best to figure out what is going on. A few rudimentary tasks are assigned, a few alliances (to be broken later) are made, but you know very little and your traits are minor. You have a couple of powers to play with.

Stage 2 - Rumored Prophet A few of the mortal kids, trying to get in on the action, have started following your character around. Missions are tougher, and there's some active combat involved. Alliances shift as your god gets anxious to use your character to bring about the end of the world and institute their own world order. More traits and powers, too!

Stage 3 - General Your character hardly does their own dirty work anymore - they have a bunch of mortal kids and maybe some godlings to do it for them. But there are also a bunch of people waiting to stab them in the back. They've realized that The Game is a blood sport, but they can't just stop playing.

Good question. I think the answer is no right now. FKT and I are fairly experienced in Breedables. If we do need one, we'll be sure to figure that out before we open.
