1. guild wars(yeah you have to buy it but online is free)
2. fly for fun, good nice community and gameplay and graphics to boast
3. maple story, it's okay, good 2d graphics and such (economy is wack though)
4.nostale, i dunno i just kinda liked it for some reason
5. silk road, good graphics siple gameplay, but lacking in the community and intorduction or how to play this game portion.

a good free MMO...? That's pretty much an oxymoron.

I'd have to say Maplestory would be the best, and then GunZ online... and those games aren't even that good.

i have to agree that free and good mmorpgs are rare. but i recommend:
1.runescape
2.maplestory
3.gunz online
4. conuqer online
5. xiah

I'm not going to follow the rules biggrin

1.Ragnarok Online (Best Community)
2. Final Fantasy XI (Great Story, awesome to have cutscenes in an mmo)
3. World of Warcraft (Too popular for me, but there is some really interesting stuff in it)
4. Maple Story (Interesting idea, I didn't have alot of fun with it though)
5. I really dont know what else to put.

ragnarok online isn't free unless you're playing on the oceanic test server.
