This thread is to voice your opinions, make suggestions, and ask questions about Gaia Marketplace. Please do not spam as many users will be looking for answers.
<center>MARKETPLACE FAQ</center>
1) What is Gaia Marketplace?
Gaia Marketplace is a system for selling items through an efficient interface. You can sell items, buy items, auction items, etc. Because the Exchange forum is often difficult to use, this system has been put in place to compliment it. Please note that the Gaia Marketplace is not meant to replace the exchange or shops, and those features are not affected.
2) How do I set up shop?
First, go to the Bank. There is a one time only fee of 1,000g (1k) to buy your pass, then you can edit your shop.
3) Can I customize my shop?
Yes, but just a little. When in your Store, click edit store to get the option to change the name of your store and the welcome message. Future versions of the Gaia Marketplace will include theme upgrades and image support.
4) How long will the auctions last?
When you add an item to your shop, you get to choose! As little as five minutes up to 14 days for your auction to last.
Note: If you choose to accept bids and the auction expires, the person with the highest bid will automaticly get the item and their gold will go to you (the one selling it). Please make sure to set a starting bid at the lowest price that you will accept the sale.
5) How do I buy something or bid?
When the item is added to your store, you get the options for Bid Only, Buy Only or Both Bid and Buy.
Buy Only - The price you select is the only price it can be purchased at.
Bid Only - There are options to set the minimum and maximum bid prices. If you do not set an autobuy price, people can keep bidding until the time is up. Bids will be whichever incriment you choose.
(ie: if you choose 10, they can only bid 10g, 20g, 30g and up)
Both Bid and Buy - Everyone can bid until the Buy price is reached, time runs out, or the seller accepts the bid.
6) We traded without the bank?!?
The Vending Feature automaticly trades the amount of gold that was bid for the item. No need to go to the bank.
7) The auction is still going .. where's my gold?
When you make a bid, it takes your gold. That way, you will be able to pay for what you have bid on , thus guaranteeing the transaction to the seller.
cool I just got a PM from Admin!?
The Gaia Marketplace has an automatic PM system. It will let you know when something has been bought or when an auction has expired.
9) Why can I sell only 4 items?
Future versions of the Gaia Marketplace will include options for upgrading your store. For now, you are limited to 4 items to prevent flooding and abuse. If you are not able to sell at least 4 items, or if you can sell more than 4 items, please report it as a bug.
10)When I sort by Last Bid, less items show up
When you sort by Last Bid, you don't see Buy Only items.
11)Can I retract a bid?
No, one of the features of the vending system is that it guarantees that bids will be honored.
12)My trading account has been banned!
The Gaia Marketplace checks to see if your bank trading account was deactivated. If it is, then you are also not allowed to use the Marketplace.
13)My store has been deactivated!
Yep, don't abuse Gaia Marketplace or your store will be deactivated by a moderator and all your items returned.
14)Well then, what are the rules?
Use common sense. Do not sell items at an unreasonable price just so you will be at the top of the list. Do not sell anything in gift-wrap. Do not repeatedly cancel items when you aren't happy with the bid.
