With the release date of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows set for
July twenty-first, the Harry Potter and the Holy Trinity Guild decided to have marathon of their own kind and invite all readers to come join them.

Every month will feature one book from the series. During that month readers are encouraged to discuss the book to its fullest, anything ranging from character’s being mentioned that aren’t introduced until later to possible predictions for Book 7 stemming from the feature book.

User Image

In July, participants will be able to discuss the entire series and the 7th Book while waiting for its release. Afterwards we’ll be able to compare the threads main predictions, theories, and ideas to what really happened.

Joining is simple, just post once in the thread with (signing up) at the top [bolded and in red, no small font please] and pick up a book.

January – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s /Philosopher’s Stone

User Image - Ted, the newsreader: Tonk’s dad? Tonk’s father was a muggle-born wizard. It is possible (but very unlikely) that he went into a non-magic profession. He smiled at a very odd time while reading the news; as if he knew why the owls were flying around oddly.
- When Dumbledore and McGonnagal are waiting for Hagrid, Dumbledore "took a golden watch from his pocket and examined it. It was a very odd watch. It had twelve hands but no numbers; instead, little planets were moving around the edge. It must have made sense to Dumbledore, though, because he put it back in his pocket and said, 'Hagrid's late.'" Could this be like some sort of miniature version of the clock Mrs. Weasley has to keep track of her family? What if each planet symbolizes an Order member or something, so Dumbledore knows which planet is each person, but if someone else got hold of it they wouldn't be able to tell who they stood for or where those people were.
- The Potters’ house collapsed due to spell backfire. Voldemort gave Lily a chance, and, as we all know, this protected Harry, causing the AK to backfire and forcing Voldemort to retreat. It is likely that this also caused the house to crumble. A lot of ‘evil’ magic and ‘good’ magic were going on in the house; it most likely couldn’t take it. It’s possible that Harry will return and see the ruins of the house. (Although, it’s probably all gone and a new house was built, since it was in a muggle village.)
- Voldemort gave Lily a choice because he had a tendency to be lenient towards mothers. He could have a ‘god-like’ view of them, which could eventually save Mrs. Weasley.
- Voldemort gave Lily a choice because Snape asked him to. Snape could have been in love with Lily, and as a reward for hearing the Prophecy, he was granted the choice to save her.
- Harry had a dream. (Pg .130) It could be foreshadowing to Harry later finding out that if it weren’t for Snape, Voldemort would have never heard the prophecy, this in a way making Snape the inadvertent murderer. It may also foreshadow Snape killing Dumbledore.
- Firenze has some Unicorn in him. Or some non-centaur blood.
- Harry’s wand makes gold and red sparks stream from it when Harry first uses it. Does this indicate that Harry is Gryffindor’s heir? It’s possible, but it is also possible that these particular colors occurred because of Fawkes (who is red and gold).
- Hagrid mentions that Voldemort never tried taking over the school. This may change now that Dumbledore is gone. Voldemort may know of some secrets at Hogwarts no one else knows about. He may also want to hide something (a Horcrux) at Hogwarts. It is often said that Hogwarts is a good place to hide things.

February – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

User Image - Was the cabinet Harry hid from the Malfoys in (at Borgin and Burke's) the other vanishing cabinet? We know that there was one in that store, four years later. The reason Harry didn't vanish to Hogwarts (where the other one was/is) is because he never closed the door.
- Peeves broke the Vanishing Cabinet in CoS, on Nick's orders. Big foreshadowing there.
- Harry is drawn to Riddle's diary. He knows the diary isn't simply a blank diary, he just can't explain it. Harry's connection with Voldemort (the scar) allows him to 'sense' Voldemort, so why not sense the Horcruxes? Harry could have been naturally drawn to the diary because of this connection. Harry may be able to sense the other Hocruxes (if he smartens up and realizes he can) which will help him destroy all of them (especially in one year/one books time).

March – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

User Image
- Harry usually always gets mad and blows up (or, blows Aunt Marge up). This may be because Harry is powerful when it comes to magic. (Most powerful wizards don't always need a wand to do magic.) Or because Harry cannot control his magic. Or it may simply be normal for wizards to do magic when they get angry.
- Sirius as an animagus is a big black dog, which Harry mistakes as a Grim - the Omen of Death. Foreshadowing Sirius' death in OotP? (Or confirming his death, at least.)
- The Sneakoscope doesn't go off when Harry first sees Sirius, before the Knight Bus comes. This showed us Sirius' true nature - he was no threat, and was good.
- What happened to Lily's maid-of-honour? In the wedding picture, it is only of Lily, James, and Sirius. Did she not have a maid-of-honour? If she did, who is she and where is she?

April – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

User Image
- During the 'dream', Wormtail says 'But if I curse/murder -' (curse - UK; murder -US). This may be in reference to Moody, Crouch Sr, or Dumbledore. (Most likely one of the first two.)
- The tents Mr. Weasley borrowed from Perkins reminded Harry of Mrs. Figg's house. This is clearly some foreshadowing that Mrs. Figg isn't who she appears to be. The tent may also have been Mrs. Figg, or Perkins and Mrs. Figg have some sort of connection.
- Dumbledore may have forbidden people from visiting Harry. That's why we didn't know about people such as Lupin until later books, even if they were Harry's parents' best friends.
- The Riddle house may be a hiding place for a Horcrux. It has all the characteristics. It could also have been/be HQ for the DEs.
- Bezoars are a reoccurring theme. There may be more poisonings in the near future, or the need for some antidotes.
- The Ministry is run by idiots.

May – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

User Image
- Four members of the Black family are named after stars. (Sirius, Regulus, Bellatrix, Alphard) These stars a relatively close to each other. It's possible that their placement may suggest the type of person the characters are. The fact that Regulus is on the left hand side, away from Bellatrix, may indicate that he indeed was never truly a Death Eater (or that he's R.A.B.)
- Hog's Head bartender is Aberforth. He may end up helping Harry. He's in the Order, although never really around, so he obviously does some top secret, undercover only-Dumbledore-knows-about stuff, (if he indeed does anything). He could give Harry very vital information, and fill in what Dumbledore left out.
- Petunia and Lily's eyes are different. We know that the fact Harry has his mother's eyes is important in some mysterious way, could the fact that Petunia and Lily's eyes are different be equally important? It's possible that the two are only half-sisters, or perhaps its just another way for Jo to point out how random Lily was in her family.
- 'That horrible boy' Petunia mentions could be Snape. Snape and Lily could have been childhood friends, or have had some other sort of relationship, thus increasing Snape's hate for James, and his willingness to hand over James. If this is true, Snape may have been the reason Voldemort told Lily to step out of the way - he didn't want to hurt her, in order to 'reward' Snape.
- Snape's 'Worst Memory' is his worst memory because Lily was there, watching him.
- Neville will NOT and can NOT kill Voldemort. HARRY MUST DO IT!
- Could there be any significance in Tonks being a metamorphmagus?
- There may be a door behind Mrs. Black's painting. This would be a very good hiding place (especially for 'R.A.B').
- A picture of Sirius may have appeared in Grimmauld Place. (Like Dumbledore in Hogwarts). This could give Harry another way to talk to him, get information, feel like he's still around.
- The reason Dumbledore seems to know everything that goes on could be the fact he is on the Chocolate Frog Cards. They could also be a form of communication between the Order members.
- Who is the old bald man that visited Bode?
- HARRY IS THE ONE WHO HAS TO KILL VOLDEMORT. NOT NEVILLE.

NEWS AND UPDATES

31 May 2007 - From Remus J. Lupin-Black: Discussion for Order of the Phoenix will likely go on into June due to the length of the novel. Discuss for Half-Blood Prince will also extend on into July as well and of course, Deathly Hallows will probably take over the bloody subforum after the twenty-first of July. I highly suggest that anyone that hasn't read Deathly Hallows avoid the Internet until they finish the book as this thread will most definately contain spoilers and I will not be writing in white to protect those foolish enough to wander around on Gaia reading things. I will not baby you guys (or force you to highlight everything I read).

1 February 2007 - From Remus J. Lupin-Black: Well, a new month and not only are we starting in on discussions about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, we've also got the release date for Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows. All ready this month is looking quite good for us fanits so let's keep it that way. Remember the rules and all of that fun stuff.

21 January 2007 - From Sirius Black-Lupin: Well, it's no wonder a lot of you haven't been included and a good portion of you won't be included until you reread the first post and sign up properly. Alot of you got a break, having posted on the top of the page, the bottom of the page, above or under people who signed up properly or wrote in red. So it's your own problem - you read Harry Potter - go read the first post again

21 January 2007 - From Sirius Black-Lupin: Life, it's something a lot of don't claim to have as we sit in a Harry Pooter Forum and discuss the books. I, for one, don't have one, between school and school--I find it difficult and over whelming at times to come in here and discuss--but not everybody is the same way. Some of us have lives out side our avatars and they may not be good at the moment. We know quite a few of you have not seen your names on the member list. We know this. And we apologize, but we do not have access to everybody's account to make neccessary updates. The person in charge of that does have a life, and currently it doesn't involve the readathon. So here's what's going to happen. I, (Sirius Black-Lupin) will make a temporary post out of on of our reserved posts with all of your names on it--PM me if you don't see your name. And until we can get our beloved Alecto back, you people will just have to deal with me waiting for every five pages. Got it? Any complaints need to be sent to Sirius Black-Lupin. Thank you.

31 December 2006 - From Sirius Black-Lupin: We're almost at the New Year, which means we'll be starting soon. Just some things to note: Remus J. Lupin-Black and Sirius Black-Lupin probably won't start reading Book 1 for about another week, merely because it's a short book, and they have busy schedules. You may, of course, start reading any time, but as it might be a bit of a stretch trying to fill all of January with nothing but Book 1--our suggestion is wait. The site where the art is from has been credited in the first post (that was a bit of last minute forgetfulness there, we apologize). So now you may all go squee over the lovely art. Please, please do not quote the first few posts. It just makes things look scattered and strange. We don't want to add this as a permanent rule, so please use your common sense. Finally, Sirius Black-Lupin got an email from the Leaky Cauldron's Leaky Lounge (she completely forgot she was in there) advertising their New Book Club where...get this, they'll be reading one book a month. Whoops. We would just like to note that none of us forsaw this, we did not steal the idea in any way, it was just great minds thinking alike. If you're interested in their discussions, go on over to the Leaky Lounge, you will notice some differences, they are giving two months to the Order of the Phoenix and in July will be reading the HBP, as Sirius Black-Lupin has already reserved her copy of tDH at Borders, and was told that the predicted date would be in July, we moved our schedule accordingly so that it wouldn't be taken up if Jo's dream of 7/7/07 did come true. So yes. Glad to see so many people signing up. Get your friends involved!

I'd imagine they do, but I like the art style from the American covers a bit more.
