Welcome to Gaia! ::

Naturally, if someone is truly good at art, and a promiment user, then by all means, buy their stuff.

But a prommie releasing a half-assed art shop at their height of their fame is just like a popular actress releasing an album. It's not going to be good, but it's going to sell phenomenally due to name recognition.

Shop wisely.
I was going to say something like "Thank you for that nugget of wisdom" but now it somehow seems inadequate...

Hmmm.

I'm tired.
Prominent...

I like how PRODlGY can keep the cuteness of my avvie in her avvie art. :3
Caveat emptor!
Some prommies, as you put it, actually become popular because of their art, regardless the quality.

I know plenty of "prommie" artists, are great, but yeah, I understand what you're say. I and know more than a couple people who would fit into your description.
I never quite got the allure of this art...

Most art on this site is either about:

Avatars
and
Anime (Namely, gay depictions of popular main characters)

Both of these things are available in the original, as-the-artist-intended form. So why "pay" for them?

Something I just thought of:

What if you bought the art of the next Pablo Picasso on this website? Do you think you could later sell it for "bank"?
This thread smells like envy.

When buying art, just look at the art. Do you like it? Then buy it! Whether or not the salesman is popular should be of no consequence.

there are less pretentious ways to say that, but yes

Beloved Noob

Buying stuff is so overrated. (durrdurrdurr)

Yes, but it helps draw customers in, does it not?

And I don't smell any envy. Why is it that whenever someone says anything that sounds remotely negative about prommies, they're always thought to be "just jealous?"

It's not pretense if someone naturally speaks that way.

Then again, people shouldn't throw stones if they live in glass houses. All you really are is just an errandboy account to drum up awareness for drama-hungry elitists.

There are many like you, for you are legion.

Envy? What do I have to be envious of? I've never even tried to draw an avatar.

Yes, that is basically what I am trying to say. I have just seen too many people buy based on nominal prestige.
