Hello! You can call me Falli, if you like, and I'm the creator of this thread--if you haven't quite noticed yet. ^^;;

Well, I think I should start by explaining a little about what this thread even is, nee? Basically, I saw all these threads that decided to list a bunch of role-plays that people might like, but I could never find any I liked. So, why search for Role Plays, when you can just search for someone to role play with? It was also inspired somewhat by the new tagging system.

In this thread, I'll hope to enlist anyone who'll have me do so, who also like to roleplay. This way, you can be sure to find people of different writing ability levels, so that it's easier to find someone closer to your ability range. A little blurb about each persons preferences will then be posted, so you can find people who enjoy the same kinds of role plays you do.

Ultimately, I'm hoping to make recruitment for role plays less of a headache; and this way as well you can also possibly find someone to start a whole new roleplay with you altogether. This makes finding roleplayers who share your interests and write at your level easier, and also saves time of surfing through Barton Town and Barton Town OOC forums for a good roleplay.

Semi-Literate Role Players:


These people are generally fairly new at roleplaying, at least in a forum. Normally a semi-literate roleplayer won't yet have developed really great grammar skills and/or spelling skills. Their writing is still pretty decent and understandable, plus their quality of roleplay is mediocre. They're still trying to get a grasp on things, and may be prone to things like god-modding or borderline-so by accident.

I applaud these people for not being discouraged by flamers, and still know that roleplaying is for having fun, not writing a novel in each post. If you're looking for someone that won't judge you for not having the best of writing skills and just want to have fun roleplaying, check this list. =D

Literate Role Players.


This group of Role Players are fully capable of producing at least a paragraph or two each post, and have a fairly okay grip on roleplaying. They know how to write pretty legible, and know that typos happen. They're out to have fun, just like semi-lits, but are considerably better writers.

Mind you, they aren't out to make novels each post either, but do respect the rules of grammar and try to spell as best as they can. They'll always give you some base to reply to when posting, and aren't generally prone to godmodding, or breaking many of the unwritten courtesies of roleplaying. Essentially, this is a mid-grade between semi-literates and advanced roleplayers and just aren't quite picky enough to be perfect. =3

Looking for: Lits like me!
Why: I can't read most semi's posts, and advanced people always make me feel like I should be trying to write better, which takes all the fun out of RPing. ;3;
RP medium: My first choice would be a Barton Town group. I don't do guilds, since one can't subscribe to threads in them; and I have found myself getting writer's block far more often in one-on-ones than in groups, though this may just be because I haven't done enough of them. I'll try out a one-on-one if you wish, but be warned. I've never RP'd off of Gaia, but I'd be willing to try it out.
Preferred Genres: I like a lot of things. Mostly fantasy/sci-fi stuff, though if you see an original concept, (as in something that hasn't been done a shmillion times before,) call me and I'll come running. I tend to go through phases of wishing to play a specific character, and during those points, I'll try to find RPs that said character would fit well into. That said, try me on anything. One thing I don't do, however, is RPs imitating real life. You know the sort, stuff about everyday teenagers and whatnot. I already have a life like that, so I'm not particularly interested in another. I also don't play pre-mades, or RPs based off of popular entertainment that still have the main characters in it. (Just the setting from the series is fine, though.) One last note, I would prefer one be friendly towards same-sex relationships, since most of my characters follow in my footsteps in that respect. (i.e., flaming like a five-alarmer. >w< wink

I've tried making an RP or two way back when I was a wee little n00bie, and they failed for the most part, due to the fact that I kept on forgetting to put in important details. But I'd like to try it again, especially if I'd have a partner in creating it to smack me over the head when I forget something. >w<
Plots: I have a few strange little plots circulating around in my head. Well, not as much plots as settings for plots. They're strange, and often somewhat dark and twisted, but if you're into that, just ask.

Looking for: Semi-literate to Advanced. I don't really care as far as skill goes, as long as I'm not attempting to decipher text talk, or constantly correcting grammar and spelling in my head.
Why: To be honest, I'm sick of reading half-assed ideas and other things. It becomes very frustrating especially when I see undeveloped plots, mispelled words, and other things. I'm a grammar nazi, and I don't deny it.
RP medium: I'll do pretty much anything, though I dislike very much roleplaying over MSN and PMs - I prefer private threads.
Prefered Genres: Again, I'll do pretty much anything, though I dislike slave RPs and other things of the like. I suppose out of all, I like doing Fantasy best, because it's a medium I'm comfortably familiar with in all areas.
Start or join?: Both, I suppose. If anyone has a decent idea, I'll join it. If anyone can help me start my own (I have a few ideas kicking around in the back of my mind) and prevent its horrible and cruel death, then I'll go for that too. :3

RP medium: I've done mostly group RPs on Gaia and I've partaken in one offsite roleplay. I've never done a one-on-one and it kinda scares me.
Prefered Genres: Fantasy, Modern Settings. I don't like sci-fi, medieval, nor anime/show based RPs for the most part, although I have a soft spot for the odd HP thread. My characters are not very cohesive to romance; I don't want to be a goddamned tramp, you see.

Why: I'm in three RP's right now, but two are essentially dead. The other is really active, but I'd love to be in another active one too.
RP medium: I like groups in Barton Town, four or five to no more than about twelve people. No one on ones.
Prefered Genres: I like fantasy- modern or medieval- and scifi. I just don't like slave, vampire, zombies, etc. roleplays. Unique plots are a must.

I stopped reading recently. =D Really, just give me enough so that I can reply. I have to reply to what you give after all, and if you give me three sentences all the time, I'll get aggravated and give you a couple words, or try and be advanced literate and scare you. I attempted that once... It didn't work like I hoped.

Prefered Genres: Anything dark, especially dark fantasy. Fantasy in general, sometimes futuristic, medieval, sometimes romance, action, war [depends really], vampires [if the story is good and not some cliche romance between humans. Think, human slaughter fest. XD], mythology based, and historic [sometimes]. Things I hate would be book based and game based rps. Especially Harry Potter, Kingdom hearts, and Final Fantasy ones. If I join any threads based off books, it would have to be based off of Tithe, by Holly Black, and none of the characters could be used. I don't like using characters from books and movies. It feels weird. Anywho, that's pretty much it for what interests me I guess. It's obviously killing, bloodshed, and deciet that really catch my main interests though. The romance on the side can be interesting too. That's where deciet comes from usually anyway.

Looking for: Someone I can reply to. The beauty of the English Language is you decribe the whole human condition in one sentence or you can write an Epic and say nothing at all. I'd much rather the former.
Why: Because using words like "the former" and "the later" is cool.
RP medium: I mostly looking for one x ones. I have MSN and AIM which are a little more reliable than the floodable PM box. I'm not really looking for a group but people find good things they weren't looking for all the time. So I can be convinced if it's unique.
Prefered Genres: Right now I'm really craving a Vampire roleplay with my plot. But it requires you to be either dominant or Yuri. Aside from that, I have a mess of roleplay genres listed in my one x one thread. I like to take the obscure character from Shows and Games. You can have your Cloud x Tifa. I'll take my Squal x Fuijin, thank you. I'll do just about anything with a little bit of a push. But I cringe at the word "Fantasy" because to me that means "Devoid of any origionality or intellect."

Prefered Genres: I prefer to roleplay by series, but I am willing to do just about any topic as long as it has romance in it. Except for movies. I don‘t really watch movies, so it would be kind of hard to roleplay a movie that I have never seen. ^^;
Start or join?: Both. I really don‘t mind either way.
Plots: Plot idea comes to me once and awhile, but not all the time. The ideas that come into my head are usually dark-ish, so I usually go with plots made by someone else. Although, not all my plots are dark, just most of them.

Advanced Role Players.


Oh, the gods and goddesses of roleplaying! In this group you'll find people who have been roleplaying for quite a long time and are usually quite versatile. These are veterans to the art, and are slowly becoming a rare breed as it is really hard to find other people as serious as Advanced roleplayers are when it comes to writing. There's a reason this group has been named what it is.

Advanced roleplayers have a very good grasp on the language, and have excellent grammar and spelling skills. Anything less may hurt some of them. In fact, generally, they find it fun to write well--as hard as it may be to believe. Many people who love roleplaying aspire to be an advanced roleplayer and it only comes in practise.

Advanced roleplayers are CAPABLE of writing a novel-sized post, but that doesn't mean they WILL write them. It takes a lot of work, folks. Plus, they'd rather have a quality post of a few paragraphs, than an extremely long one full of filler junk. They really have a good grip on roleplaying, and would never think to godmod or break any other unwritten courtesy of roleplaying. Even though they are a lot more serious than most about roleplaying, they are still in it for fun. ^______^

Why: Because I've tried making many RPs myself that, while they have all had storylines than I really like, very few people worth their salt have been joining. I'm having serious creative back-up here. I'm dying to get into a somewhat fast-moving RP; I'd like to be able to post at LEAST once a day.
RP medium: Threads only.
Prefered Genres: Kingdom Hearts, really. I do a few other fandoms and some originals too, but honestly I've got KH on the brain right now. I do NOT do yaoi or yuri.

This is where we feature threads that feel have a good storyline and a good foundation of Role Players.


How does my thread get on this list?

Well, there are a couple ways that this can happen.

Nomination or Straight Selection

How do these work?

Nominations are pretty self explanatory. If someone loves you enough, then they cab nominate you by sending me(Sweetpea053)a PM linking to your RP and telling me in a short paragraph why they think it should be featured. I will then go and see for myself if it's worthy of the RP spotlight or not. Savvy?.. Good. ^-^

To this option there are a few rules:

1) Please don't send me a long, drawn out testament of how amazing the thread is. I shall see for myself. As for a limit... I'm going to ask that you keep it at 5 sentences max and at a minimum of 2.
If I get anything longer or shorter than that, I simply will delete it and not even consider it.

2) Please do NOT post nominations in this thread. They WILL be ignored.

3) Please don't nominate yourself. It's completely classless in my opinion. It also doesn't tell me how others feel about your thread.

4) Lastly, I ask that you please don't PM me asking why or Flame me in any way for your nomination not appearing on this list. First of all, it is ALSO classless, and second of all, if every thread nominated went on the list, then it wouldn't be much of a spotlight... It would simply be a list of random threads.


Straight Selections Are also fairly self explanatory. I (and all of the other faculty of this thread) enjoy Role Playing. That being said, I'm sure that you all know how it feels to search for hours to find a thread to settle into and be bombarded by threads that you don't have any interest in, or are not at your level.
If you're sitting there nodding your head, then you'll also know how it feels to find a breath of fresh air.
That's what these selections are supposed to be.
I surf Barton Town to find threads that I think people would enjoy, and I'm not partial to levels either. I'll tell you what level the feature is and I'll give you the link.

Not really much to the rules of this selection...They're more like guidelines:

1) I'm not going to tell you what the thread is about. It's YOUR job to find out.

2) If your thread has been Selected, You will get a PM from me telling you so. So sending me a PM asking about it, won't get you anywhere but my delete box, savvy?

-Stars of Sin, Stars of Virtue- This one is semi-lit to light literate. Have fun with it ^___^

Triad This one is neat as hell. It's a competition for role players of all levels. Get your spot before it starts.
