...will be expelled.
The not very wealthy or safe urban town of Ashton, in the inferior half of the state of Pacifica Sancti in the United States of Vesspucia, -what in our world was named Berkeley in California, in the United States of America- was once named for ash trees and is now named for factories and coal power plants spewing ash all over the unfortunate prole dwellings. The savants among them use Fatal magic to influence the patterns of the wind, making it likely that the smog will pass them by or that kindly spirits will protect thier lungs, while others must make do with Psychic spells of sunny disposition, or with expensive athsma inhalers.
Meanwhile, western dragons protect Tiamat Savings and Loan, the bank in the center of town: you can get a year of youth and life in your Peaches of Immortality smoothie for five skins at Ambrosia Juices, and a well placed prayer to Agape, the local Goddess of Love That Lasts, might snag you a date to the prom at Trismegustos High School or the formal at Ashton Community College if you promise to treat them right afterwards.
Ashton Junior College (the link is to the RP thread) is a roleplaying setting where Magic was never occult and spirits are everywhere. Any human can be a mage - it simply requires the understanding that as above, through symbolically potent ritual, so below. Technology is modern and works on anyone. Magic works better on someone with similar religious and symbolic beliefs and not at all on someone with vastly different beliefs. The players will have either be students, staff, or those that know the students or staff at Ashton Junior College, and the genre is Romantic Comedy.
NEW! As for what passes for a plot, In a world where everyone can be a wizard if they want to, Ashton Junior College is the place to go for the unlucky, broke or slacker mage or mundy. Even Agape, the local Goddess of Love that Lasts, attends classes in Applied Theology for her AA degree there. Lately, she's been experimenting with increasing her power by expending it, trying to make her version of Heaven on Earth: she's set herself up as a matchmaker with a college matchup website and dating service. Meet her at the Hannish Automat (Only a skin for two spring rolls! Five skins for chow mein, spring rolls and an entree and drink! Self serve, no waiting or nasty hexes!) and she'll set you up with a love. That lasts. Honest.
All you need to apply are the following:
Player: The name of your avatar and all mules of your avatar playing the same character.
Character: The name of your character.
Gender: The gender of your character.
Sexual Orientation: Does your character like boys, girls, both?
Appearance: A brief description of your appearance.
Motivation: What drives your character.
Ritual School: How your character works magic (if in fact they do so: you may put "none." wink
Strength: A strength of your character.
Ally: An ally of your character, which could be a pet or spirit/god they worship.
Wildcard: Another strength or ally.
A writing sample is very, very nice but not... hmm... you know, on further reflection, let's just say 'it doesn't have to be from an RPG.'
