Introduction

I'm Vilhelmina, or, as my gaia nametag claims, tealove.
And this, my dear fellow gaian, is my quest thread, Tråden.

Tråden, in case anyone wonders, happens to be the Swedish
word for 'the thread'. Yes, I'm Swedish, and yes, it is that simple.

In this thread, you can come and chat with me, read about my
quest (well, actually, as of recently, quests), my characters,
or just lurk, if you like. Of course, I'd personally much prefer if
you made your presence known. Come say hi! Don't worry, I don't
bite. (Iretence does, but just play nice and he won't harm you! n_n)

Thread History

This thread has been with me since early December 2006,
when I started out with roughly 370k in funds. Since then
I have come a long way, but am still far from completing
the quest. That's not really something that bothers me,
though, as the journey is, in this case, just as much fun as
I'm sure that the goal will eventually be! As I'm writing this
paragraph, this quest has been going for three months, and
it's been great. Let's hope it keeps up the same way! <3

Important Dates_______________________

December 3rd, 2006 - The creation of the thread

January 11th, 2007 - Passed 1000k in funds!

February 27th, 2007 - The thread got a new look!

March 9th, 2007 - o_o I have 1.7 million? XD

April 12th, 2007 - This is going backwards? rofl

May 7th, 2007 - 1.8 million ninja <_<' 100k in 2 months, yo.

May 9th, 2007 - 1.9 million ninja 100k in 2 days. 8D

May 30th, 2007 - I converted all of my quest funds into a lovely,
lovely NM scarf, an item which I have secretly been swooning over
from afar for a very long time. I haven't decided on the future fate of this
quest yet, and most likely won't in a while. The side quest is still
going strong, however!

August 18th, 2007 - After not having paid attention to the quest for a while,
I recalculated my funds and found that they are now up to a grand total of
60k. Ehrm. If this is ever going to finish I might have to do something
about it? 8D o_o But I kind of don't know yet. I want a thread, but... You
know. Or maybe not? Anyway, we'll see!

September 9th, 2007 - It is becoming clearer by the day that I will not be
finishing this quest. I won't delete the thread just yet (or ever, if I can help
it!), because it holds a lot of my gaia history and I'd like to keep the
conversations and such I've had in here accessible. As for the art request
thread, chances are it'll still have one, but with significantly less funds than
I originally intended. I'll make sure to post a link to it here when it's up so
you can come accompany me there instead, kay? ^_^

The Purpose

When talking about the purpose of this, one must
keep in mind that this thread and the quest it is
housing essentially have two different, albeit closely
related, purposes. That sounds complicated? Alright,
I guess I'll have to explain it.

The Purpose of This Thread
This one is easy. I created this thread because I really
wanted a 'home' thread, so to speak. A place where my
gaia friends can come and find me, talk to me, and a
place for me to simply hang around and have fun. If it
also keeps me motivated with my quest, so much better!

The Purpose of My Quest
Well, actually, this one is easy too. XD The thought of
having an art request thread of my own, where people
can come to read about my characters and I can collect
art of said OCs, has been with me for the most part of
my time on gaia. Some of my friends have really lovely
and successful art request threads, and they have inspired
me to want to do the same thing! However, for this, I'll
need to have enough gold to keep me going for a while.
Therefore, the purpose of my quest is to save up for gold.
Gold for which I will eventually buy lovely art. *-*

The Characters_________________________________

'Well', you might think, 'that's great, but who are these
characters of yours?'

My characters? They are the children of my imagination, and I,
as their creator (or mother, you might say), love them as such.

They're adorable. They're terrible. They're what keeps me going
as the artist and writer that I am. If it weren't for them and their
stories, I wouldn't be doing much of what I am doing today. Now,
before I turn this into my Nobel Prize speech (saving that one for
later ;D ), let me introduce you to a few of them! By the time I
officially open my art request thread, I shall have finished many
more descriptions, but for now I have written as many as four.
I keep them in a guild I set up for this purpose, so if you want to
read the full descriptions of the below mentioned characters, all
you have to do is click on their names. Yay, hightech at its best!
Iretence__________.______________________
A vampire with a complete disrespect for his own
mortality. He's deeper than he seems, and there's
something dark about it. The reason? In his past.

Maizlea_________.________________________
If she was twice as careful about who she makes
friends with, she'd only get into half of the trouble
that she does. This girl has got it for the bad side.

Darianon________.________________________
If self-assured arrogance had a name, Darianon
would have found his long-lost twin. He loves to
shock, but has a softer, hidden side. But for who?

Kacy____________________________________
With her head in the clouds, her fingers planting
flowers in the soil and a pet dragon by her side,
half-elf Kacy is a hard-to-reach one-of-a-kind.

Helping Out

So you want to help me with my quest? That is so
very kind of you! And of course, you can! In fact,
there are several different ways for you to do so.
The following paragraphs will tell you more about it!

Method #1: Chatting
I wouldn't have created a thread to host my quest
if it wasn't for the fact that I love talking to people!
So one of the best ways for you to help me with my
quest is in fact to stay and chat. Simple as that. <3

Method #2: Gift Art
Obviously, I also love art of my characters. ^_^
Ultimately, getting more of it is the very purpose
of this! So, of course, if you'd draw for me, I'd be
very happy. Any gift art I receive will go in my
OC Art Collection. >w<

Method #3: Buy Art From Me
While this isn't always the case, sometimes I will
sell artwork in a small shop or participate in an
art auction. When I do, the profit goes straight
into this quest! <3

Currently, I do not participate in any auctions, nor
will I make art for anybody unless under very
special circumstances. You can't ask me to do it.
It's unlikely that I'll have more than one more art
auction on gaia, ever. I probably won't even do
one. :/

What Not To Do
However, please do not send any gold or item
donations. If you absolutely want to do something,
there is my Side Quest. But for the main quest, I
do not want that kind of help! Thank you anyway!

Side Quest

While I really want to get that art request thread opened one day,
I also have other goals on gaia. This part of the thread is currently
dedicated to one of them: my quest for the Royal Cloak Black.

However, let it be noted that I do not mix the funds for these two quests!
When I get the Cloak, it is not my aim to eventually sell it for art, and I
am not going to use any of the funds for my art request to buy it.
That way, I can ensure my two quests don't intervene, and can coexist
peacefully in some kind of digital symbiosis. In fact, I'm even keeping the
funds in separate gaia accounts to make sure this works out. xD

Another way my two quests differ from each other is that for my side
quest, I do in fact accept donations. I'm not actively asking for them,
but if you want to send me one, I will accept and appreciate it! ^_^
