Are dreams merely an illusion of of our thoughts when we've laid down to sleep, or are dreams more real than we believe them to be

[Plot]
What if you were having a nightmare and you died? What if you died while sleeping and couldn't awake yourself from the nightmare you were trapped in your nightmare forever? There is such a nightmare that has the answers to those two questions, and this nightmare realm is known as Marouge(Mar-rooj-uh). Marouge is a place where the deadliest, nightmarish creatures inhabit and even the vegetation is out for the taste of blood. In this realm of death and carnage there is one nightmare which rules over Marouge and her name is Melantha and she is The Princess of Nightmares.

Can you live and wake to see another sunrise?

The smell of blood was thick within the air, it was overwhelming and intoxicating though to the creatures of this malicious land known as Marouge, it was like ecstasy that they couldn't help but soak in to give them pure bliss. A dark and beautiful voice seemed to flow upon the air from the east of the forest and if you traveled in this direction long enough you'd come to the territory of Rosiel, a rather gigantic and carnivorous white rose that was always in full bloom and never lost any of it petals. The smaller white roses surrounded their mother, creating a field of white and if you were far away it looked as though snow surruonded this large flower.

laying in the middle of it's belly was a young women, appearing only about the age of 16 and this was where the enchanting voice came from. Melantha Lafayette was this young girl's name and though she may look like an innocent child, it is only an illusion to lure those unaware of the true and monsterous creature that lay beneath. Melantha soon stopped singing as she sighed softly and layed down on her side. She was simply wearing a black satin dress that hugged and showed off her perfect figure with the dress hanging a bit of her shoulder with long sleeves that were loose about her arms and fell to stop to only show the tips of her fingertips which the nails were caoted with black nail polish.

Melantha's vibrant violet eyes held a saddened look to them, something that was rare to the eyes of those that saw such an expression upon the young creature's face. Why would such a creature as this have a saddened look upon her face? What could cause this poor girl to suddenly slip into sadness and despair? In all, know one could possibly answer such questions of why Melantha was sad, it was rather...queer.

Melantha hugged her knees to her chest as she laid upon her side, her long fair pink hair was sprawled out behind her like the wrinkled satin sheets that dressed her bed. Slowly her eyelids became heavy and soon coated over her violet eyes to hide them from sight and the exquiste creature known as Melantha fell softly into a light sleep
Anianka was sure she was in a dream. She had to have passed out. Fainted perhaps. She would wake up soon, and this strange and beautiful land would vanish from her vision for ever. And some how, that thought was the least comforting thing in the whole crazy world, right now.

Though she had never been here before, and this was not the world she knew, it was still strangely familiar; as if she'd been here before. Perhaps it had been in a past life, or perhaps she'd had this dream in the past, and forgotten. But somehow, this vast and serene, and somehow frightening world was comforting.

She was walking along what appeared to be a forest path. And if the sun rose in the East, and set in the West here, then she was heading East. The dark landscape, of which she would catch glimpses of through the trees, appeared to show a large castle in the distance, just off to her right... That would be South, if she had her bearings of the compass correct, in this strange new world.

Should she head to the castle? Or keep walking East? Presently she decided perhaps to stay her current course. If she didn't wake up soon, she might head to the castle. If she kept her Eastern pace, perhaps she might come across something that would scare her awake. But if she bore right, she might find something in the castle that would scare her awake. And the trees were gorgeous, and dark, themselves.

Maybe she would find someone. Maybe she wouldn't have to go to the caslte. She kept her course, walking at a fair pace, and taking in the beautiful, and somewhat terrible surroundings. She liked it here.
Melantha slet softly, a soft breeze swept into her room and the caw of a Raven pricked her ears as her eyelids slowly lifted to reveal those beautiful and vibrant violet eyes. She sat up slowly and looked towards the window to see her beloved little pet, so innocent yet cynicalinevery possible way. " Come here my pet," said Melantha, her voice like dark silk that sent sensual shivers up the spine.

The bird flew over to land onthe young girl's shoulder and then pressed its beak softly to her ear, as though whispering something of great privacy and importance to the young and beautiful demon. " So we have a guest, I see. Thank you Ellyon, I must great our new guest. Ellyon go and find our guest and bring her to me, I want to meet her," said Melantha. "Fetch her for me," said Melantha as she let her gaze lower to her hands thatwere folded in her lap

The Raven flew from her shoulder and went tofind the girl that it had recently seen wandering the Marougian Forest
The only animal that Anianka had seen since she got here was a single raven. Being how she was, she thought this the perfect thing to find in her dream.
She had stopped to study the bird. There was something about its beady, reflective black eyes, and the way it ruffled its blue-black feathers, as it looked at her.
Figuring this was a dream, she decided that she might as well say something. And so she said the first thing that came to her mind.
"You're a beautiful creature."
Indeed the raven was a sight to behold, its feathers the blackest of ebony and its eyes were glowing scarlett. The raven known as Ellyon , however, was no ordinary raven for it could speak to people telepathically, a gift given to he rby her mistress. TheRaven touched the girl's mind with her own. "Thank you," said Ellyon
Not very surprised by this - she was assuming this was all a dream - Anianka smiled.
"You're quite welcome." She replied. "Do you have a name?"
This whole strange dream just kept getting better. This gorgeous bird, the gorgoues landscape, and the beautiful castle... Aniaka thought she might be dreaming of heaven.
The raven simply looked at the girl with it scarlet eyes and it seemed to smile at her. " Ellyon, My name is Ellyon," said the bird as it cocked its head to the side. " What is your name?," asked the bird curiously

(hey, is this a private thread?)
"Anianka." She replied. "Anianka Nikolas. Is this really a dream? Or have I been transported to another world?"
The question was more to see if the bird could answer or not. She would believe it were a dream unless she felt pain. Pain is the one thing most people can't feel in dreams.
[@Ayaka:no It's not]

" I cannot answer your question, only my mistress can. If you'd like I can take you to her," said Ellyon as she flew down from her perch on the tree branch to land onthe girl's shoulder
"Does your mistress live in the castle?" Anianka asked. Her own eyes, almost gray, glinted just a bit. "I'd much like to go there." She said, her freckled fase turning thoughtful for a moment. "This whole place is beautiful."
"Yes she does, and I'llbe more than happy to take you to the castle," said the bird as it flapped it's wings and lifted up into the sky."Just follow me?"
Since she was so sure of herself, she thought nothing of following the bird to the castle. In fact, the idea seemed wonderful.
"Alright," Anianka replied, and began to almost stalk the beautiful creature towards their destination.
She was so much in love with the landscape; the black trees, the red skies, and red leaf-littered ground of the forest she now walked in all set her heart to thumping. Briefly she wondered if she could ever have created such a place purely for a dream. Her subconcious couldn't be this talented, this adept...
