07.03.17: While the thread remains open for conversation and whatnot, it is closed to all potential artists who might've been interested in applying.

One of the reasons I'm doing so is to give my pending trades a chance to dwindle down to something less than the amount I have right now. Which probably won't happen, but hey ... worth a shot. =_=;

Applications will be accepted once more either when the number of pending trades is down to ten or around the beginning of May. Cheers ~

07.03.04: So, courtesy of the most recent poll (that ended today, obviously), most people seem in favour of Trevale as a kingdom's name over Tervaan. I guess the masses have spoken, and therefor Trevale will be used. 3nodding However, I'm going to keep Tervaan on the back burner; might be able to find something to use it for, later on ~ /endpointlessupdate

07.03.03: For the most part, the thread is up and running. Well, almost. There are still some things that need to be tweaked here and there, while others need a complete overhaul in general (read: profiles). I plan on taking care of those things as soon as I'm able to. Not to mention whenever my attention span settles down long enough for me to do so. Things are still functioning, at any rate.

Um. Some of those who are veterans of the previous request threads of mine might notice that there have been some new additions ... most notable being that the spotlight artist(s) (save for those who are under most recent) get something for being featured. Okay, so maybe no one really cares about that. xp

Enough of the rambling, and consider this a formal announcement that request thread number 39583946 is, more-or-less, open. Finally.

Despite how obvious this one might seem, it still needs to be said - Do not take, alter and/or claim any and all of the artwork. Same goes with any and all characters (and their respective bio/concepts) featured throughout. Remember: No one likes a thief, no matter what kind s/he is.

01. Please follow and aheed to all of Gaia's Terms and Conditions, along with the specific guidelines set out for this thread.

02. Keep in mind the Golden Rule: Treat others as you, yourself, would like to be treated in return. Fighting/arguing/harrassing of others in the thread will not be tolerated.

03. Do not copy the thread's layout or content. It might not look like it, but I did spend a bit of time on it all.

For those interested in offering their services, please fill out the form given (some posts) below and post it within this thread.

I don't always respond to applications, though I do take note of who all applied and the page on which they did so. Most of the time, if interested, I'll PM the artist.

01. Do not do art without an agreement between the two of us regarding payment details and whatnot. In the event that this is done, please take care to realise that I will not pay, and consider the recieved art as being a freebie.

02. Feel free to post links to auctions, but do so knowing that chances are I won't be interested. Please do not post links to auctions. I am not interested at all in those at the moment.

03. If I choose not to commission you, please don't take it personally. Your art is probably just not what I'm looking for, nor interested in at the moment.

04. Do not bother applying if you have a long list of people waiting for art at the moment.

05. In addition to number three .. please don't be offended if the sole means of declining is a simple 'no'. It's just easier than always having to find other ways of letting someone know.

This post is dedicated to dictating the need-to-knows of the commissioning 'standards' I follow, also known as the 'CCQP' (Communication, Consistancy, Quality, Punctuality)

Please keep in mind that, in no way, am I attempting to upset or offend anyone by these, and instead all I wish is to outline in a clear (or so I hope) manner what I expect from any artist interested in applying in this thread.

Not to mention 'protect' myself, should anything arise that is distasteful in any sort of manner. :3

To put it quite simply - I have been ******** over many times in the past, and this is one attempt at reducing chances of it happening in the future.

(I reserve the right to be displeased with how a commission came out. If I feel it is far from what I expected and-or asked for then either I'll ask for a redo, dock payment or refuse to pay at all. I haven't had too much of a problem with stuff, however so ... I hope never to have to do this lest it be in extreme cases. x_x;)

Communication:

One of the biggest things that I've found lacking in a lot of cases with commissioned artists is the communication.

Simple, and to the point: Keep in touch.

If something comes up and-or happens, then let me know. Don't just leave me hanging and wondering what in the world has happened.

I don't bite, and I can be rather understanding (or so I like to think).

Though, one thing that should be kept in mind - I can only be patient for so long. If you're one of those who seems to constantly have a new excuse for this or that, then please ... don't waste my time, or yours.

The same could be said if an issue that has arisen involves a scanner. I've heard the line about a scanner being broken like 34987489 times now (or some variation thereof) and whether it's true or not ... spare me, please.

Hell, make something else up if needbe. Even if it's something outrageous like, "My dog/cat/ferret/brother ate your commission! sad "

Consistancy:

I expect to get what is requested. That means if I request a CGed fullbody, I expect to get just that and not something else such as a picture done in oekaki or traditional media. It also means that if I ask for art of a certain character, I expect to get art ... of that character.

Quality:

Please have finished art be of at least same quality as the examples shown when first applying and/or posted for an auction. After all, those are what helps someone (or at least me) decide whether or not to be interested in commissioning an artist and/or bidding ...

This also means that I would appreciate that it looks as if time/effort was put into the art, and that it's not evident or looks as if things were BSed/half-assed/rushed.

... I'm fed up with recieving pictures of such ... quality (or lack thereof).

Punctuality:

It's something that both the commissioner and artist might be worried about - the former about how long it'd take for them to recieve a request and the latter about how long they have to get said request done.

No one likes to feel rushed, but on the other hand no one likes to feel as though they've been waiting forever, either ... especially if something was, more-or-less, promised by a given time.

Therein lies the point at hand, and to be blunt - I do expect to recieve art within the timeframe the artist has given.

Of course (and not to sound like a complete b***h about it) I do realise that, at times, real life can rear its ugly head and cause a whole lotta problems originally unforseen. So, in the event that such happens, drop me a PM or something (see: communication).

Otherwise, one of two things can happen:

1) The 'deadline' arrives, and there has been no word. Up to one week thereafter will be given before the trade is cancelled.

2) The 'deadline' arrives, and I have been notified that something's come up. Up to one-two additional month(s) will be given (depending on circumstance/reasons) and, if the requested art still hasn't been recieved by then, the trade is cancelled.
