Rp must be pg-13 and follow Gaia TOS. Please keep in mind that young kids use Gaia. If you are caught RPing in a very naughty way you will be reported and banned from the shop. Take it to IM's people we don't need or want it here!
Please keep cursing to a minimum! There is no need to go crazy on people with tasteless words!
LISTEN to what the staff tells you. If they ask you to chill out some, do it! Consider it a warning if you must. If you are rude to them You will meet MY DOOM!
You can RP in the thread., but we may have a guild soon.
Please keep your Quotes to 5 or less.
Please stay in character. Please bracket your posts with (( )) or [ ] or whatever fancy brackets if you're OOC-ing.
No God-modding. Every Pet is unique and have their own special abilities but please, do not assume your Pet is all-mighty and kill off other Pets... you will be grey-listed and receive a warning if you do so... please don't act stupid.
We have the rights to take away your Pet should we felt that you're not taking care of your Pet. But of course there could be exceptions with a price.
Please read back a page or two if you're going to jump into an RP that's already taking place. It's only polite to actually know what's going on, and if you'd even be welcome to join the particular plot that's going on. Use good judgement on this.
Try to use good grammar when writing or role-playing. I can understand a few mistakes but don't go over board.
If you need leave the role-play for any reason. Please tell them you are doing so. Don't just dissappear if you can help it.
All roleplay must be formal. For example: "Sarah walks down the mountain path." Not *walks down the mountain path*

ENTRIES:
Chisato-chan
Your Name: Chisato-chan
NPC character name: Titiana
NPC character species: Fae Folk
NPC character demeanor: Mischevious and quick of temper
How your character gets involved in this: Entered long ago and since cannot remember her past (nor does she wish to)
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: I want one of these pets and I am broke! XD
How often are you on Gaia?: Everyday for at least a half hour
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): Sadly, no.
Extra info we should know Eh... I dunno! XD
Any ideas for the shop?: Maybe let humans get to the realm while asleep, but when they wake, it was only a dream (for them)?
RP sample: (for now, past RP intro post, but I will post an intro preview later...)
The sun was shining brightly, relentlessly pounding on the crewmembers on the deck. For exactly twenty-eight hours they had been sailing and most wanted to dock again. The heat was bad, but it could be worse. The smell of rotting fish in the galley was unbearable. "Poor Miss Rosette," Kurt Kelly thought to himself. He currently sat on deck watching his shipmates work while he sucked on half a lime. Every so often juice would get in the cuts of his lips. The citrus would burn, and he would wince.
In one word, the appearance of Kurt could be described as filthy. He had dirt on his face, his teeth weren't all straight, and his lips were ripped up from being so chapped. He had long slightly waved dirty blonde hair that went just past his shoulders. In an attempt to tame his greasy mane, he had tied it back with a thin piece of rope. Still, strands dangled in his face leading to his only unmarred feature, his eyes. They were blue as the sea and the only thing about himself he was proud of.
Kurt wore ragged tan pants. At once time, they were crisp, white pants of a naval officer. It was long since he gave up that profession. On his feet were worn brown boots, stolen from a dead man in the previous town for his last pair had been in worse condition. His shirt was off-white from dirt and was a standard gentleman's shirt. It had been very fashionable with his old coat that had been sold to buy supplies for the ship shortly after they became pirates.
Next to the mainmast of the ship in its shadow, he was hunched over and crouching as though he was a chipmunk or squirrel. He would stop chewing and sucking on the lime and look around every so often, waiting to hear someone say, "Kelly! Get to work!"

Zyara
[I know the char is just an NPC but this was still fun to do XD And..if you don't like it well...I still like waffles! biggrin ]
Your Name: Zyara
NPC character name: Dyani
NPC character species: Elven Knight
NPC character demeanor: Dyani is extremely loyal when it comes to protecting those he holds alligence with, and when it comes to those in the Mist, his full loyalty is to only Asrai and frowns upon taking orders from anyone else.
How your character gets involved in this: Before entering the mystical tree portal, Dyani was a soldier in the Roman army back in 280 AD when the plan of world domination was in full effect. How exactly he had gotten seperated from his commanding officer and troops is not known. Nor how he wounded up in the Forest of Mist. All he does fully remember of that day was stumbling through a muddy forest on a rather unpleasant rainy day, and taking up shelter in the hearth of an old Oak tree. Upon seeing the elven man who greated them, he, being the prideful individual he was, ignored the warnings and proceeded to walk into the portal, thus leading him to this world.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: Because I think this would be a new chance of pace to help the roleplay instead of just particiapting in it. Also, I'm currently without job or school so this gives me plenty of time to dedicate to this shop.
How often are you on Gaia?: At least three hours a day.
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): Nope, this allows me more time to focus on this particular store.
Extra info we should know I like..waffles?
Any ideas for the shop?: Perhaps having a roleplay contest soon. A lot of people love entering roleplay contest/flatsales, plus this gives them more chance to actually think of a background to a character. This will also, hopefully, insure that you will pull in someone who wants to roleplay this character instead of using it as a signature decoration.
RP sample:
((I didn't think you would need to full sample so I cut it in half in order to still give you a desent sample. This is from an older post that I made under my alt. smile ))
Gently the breath of the night ran through the leaves and grass, the moon hidden behind the rounded clouds as they lazily trailed across the star dotted sky sleepily. All living things where long lost in the dream realm save for the few bugs that chirped their crooked songs into the winds, and the occasional shadow that playfully darted across the land in an attempt to rebel against it's caster. A perfect picture tonight turn out to be, not a stroke left unnoticed on the canvas of such a painting.
As the night stretched her lazy fingers across the large town south of Tyextolma, lights flicker for hints of a second before they too joined the darkness around them. Like an elegant ballet, the dots of light from one building to another turned off in an unknown pattern, leaving all but one out of this dance. It was a beautiful building, one that seemed to be well taken care of with it's white-washed walls, elegant roofed tiles and neatly trimmed garden. Windows decorated ever few feet around the body of the small building and when the morning sun first rose to great the world, the warmth of the sun was always there brighten the room through the windows for the customers of the museum.
Unlike it's glorious outside, the inside was not as glamourous or as exciting. The displays laid out in even rows beneath hard cut glass for the curious eye to study. Most where items from the earlier time when the Um first took breath on this world. Others where a various of knickknacks that where collected by Proffessor McCorga who happened to run the museum. Paying for its upkeep was nothing but a miracle as he scraped for every ounce of money he could and it such times, it was always a hard thing to do. It was always hard times it would seem. Or so it had been, till tonight.
"Amazing, absolutely amazing. Imagine, a new species. I mean, this...this could mean so much for us!" Professor McCorga grinned happily as he clapped meaty hands together, before letting go only to push up the bridge of his spectacles. His assistant, a normally quiet woman by the name of Oniyxia only smiled and nodded.
"Just imagine, Oniyxia, if we've discovered a new species, our knowledge from this find will be worth...well, a lot!" The man would snort with laughter as he rubbed his hands together, looking excited. "I honestly thought we would have to shut down the Museum. It is as if nobody cares anymore about our past. Sad really...but the Gods have given us a chance! A miracle this is!"
Before the pudgy, balding man, a body laid across a large examining table. All life seemed to have long left the body days ago, and noting more was left but an empty shell. The form was clearly female as well as the oddly styled clothing that she wore. "Acora" as the Professor had named her, was nothing like anyone had ever seen. Her skin was almost snake-like with it's crimson colored skin, and after lifting her eyelid, the yellow slitted eyes verified his assumptions.
"Perhaps she is a sub-breed. Family to the....to the..." Scratching his head, the professor paused to think for a moment before snapping his fingers as he grasped the word he had been searching for. "To the Terai! But...it's odd. The skeletal structure doesn't make sense..."
"I wonder if she has a family..." Oniyxia paused after speaking her words, wondering if the creature before her was alive instead of dead, what she would be thinking about all this instead. Truth be told, Oniyxia didn't care and was excited as the Professor was for this find. But, she was sad too that this unknown creature had to die for them to benefit. Not that they had killed it mind you. A bunch of children had found it's body entangled in the kelp beside the docks and rushed here. If Oniyxia never believed in miracles, well, this had put a seed of doubt in her mind.
While the professor and his assistant began to prepare to examine the body further, they did not notice the eyes that had been watching their every move. Nor did they notice that they had a visitor inside the building standing ten feet away from them in the shadows.
Unlike his mate, Ka'tahor's body was of rich black scales that rippled beneath his movements. His lower half was not of humanoid as hers was, but instead like the lower body of a serpent. Upon his flesh, heavy markings had been carved forming tribal tattoos that where later filled in with yellow ink. In the language of his brethren, they where warnings to all enemies. Ka'tahor was not one to take easily. He was the one of the strongest warriors in his tribe, a noble leader, and a fierce hunter. However, when news reached their hidden village in the swampy outskirts of the main city that Sal'ara was missing, his duty was now to find his blood mate and return with her, or have proof of her death.
Forked tongue would dart out as the snake-like creature narrowed his slitted eyes, watching the two creatures poke and prod the body of his mate. How dare they? Could they show no respect for the dead? Growling softly, Ka'tahor would press his body into the side of the cool wall as he watched and waited.
With time, the excited babbling of the Professor came to an end before he exchanged a few extra words with his assistant. Several pages of notes had been recorded and the man was getting tired of the outside of his find. He wanted to preform an autopsy, to find what made this creature 'tick'. And further more, what caused it to die. A knock on the door, however, would cause McCorga's hand to lower the scalpel.
"I'm afraid that would be our founder..." Wiping his hands on his apron, the Professor and Oniyxia walked towards the heavy set door to greet a rather prudent man.
Ka'tahor didn't wait any longer. If this was the time, now was it. Slinking out from the shadows, he would dart over to his mate's form, letting out a gasp as he now saw the slashes the scalpel had created. If he had doubted it before now, it was no longer arguable. Sal'ara was by far dead.
"Issss...the will of the Godssss to take thee from me..." hissing his words softly, he would reach down to lightly stroke his mate's face, allowing himself a brief moment to grief. He would truly allow himself to grief once he was back in the village. Pulling a crooked dagger from a sheath, Ka'tahor knew he'd have to work quickly to get his proof. Licking his chapped lips, he began to press the dagger into the scaley flesh, cutting a chunk away from the arm, though careful not to damage the crimson scales. Upon them his proof was seen. Her birth mark. A rare symbol that every member of the Alithian tribe receive, each unique as the countless stars. Tucking it away carefully into a leather pouch, he then pause before cutting off a lock of orange hair.

RP sample:((I hope this is alright. I kinda just made things up as I went along...sorry if it was a bad thing I used Asrai in it. xd ))
It was a new day in the world and new changlings were coming in through the mist. Levi stood by Asrai's side and helped her with the newcomers, giving them direction and what challenges may be ahead of them. As Asrai spoke, the newcomers were calmed. Levi had feelings for her ever since he laid eyes on her so many years ago. She was beautiful in his sight. She calmly said those words that guided them into the new realm, and even he was calmed by her presence.
He also watched over them as they grew, from child, to adult. They each had their ways and some were pure and some were not. They were all different and every one had a specific personality that Levi liked or disliked.
That very day, the mist grew cold, very cold. The new children were having a hard time getting through, even with Asrai's voice. She couldn't calm the mist enough to help the children's spirits come in. So she called upon Levi, her beloved friend, and he also helped calm the mist. He did so just long enough so that the children could get through it saftly.
Asrai was relieved and happy for it. Levi stood proud of what he had done and smiled at her. He floated over, flapping his wings every so often to not fall from that height. He caressed her and then gave her a long, sweet, loving kiss of affection that showed her how much he cared for her. He was very relieved that she seemed to feel the same way. She gave in and it was a happy ending.
Until later throughout the day, he had to do very much the same thing that he had to do, calm the mist enough so that she could get the children through saftly. One time, unfortunatly, it did not work. He was somewhat depressed that he couldn't calm the mist that time.
He then awoke to find that it was only a dream. He was devistated that it was only a measly dream. He would never tell Asrai about his feelings for her. Never...
((I hope this is better. xd More relevant to the story. biggrin ))

Dr_jelly
Ah well, might as well try:
Your Name: Dr_jelly
NPC character name: Usani
NPC character species: witch
NPC character demeanor: headstrong & impatient
How your character gets involved in this: Usani, though a witch, never learned much magic. During her early childhood she discovered blacksmithing and was immediatly intrigued; she swore to her nanny that the smiths were magically creating weapons, but her nanny scolded her and said they were just making weapons by hand, because they weren't powerful enough like witches/wizards to use magic on anything. As an adult, Usani doesn't need to listen to her nanny anymore, and has followed her dream as a blacksmith, creating swords and hammers an such w/o magic (she doesn't know how) and giving them small enchantments with the spells she bothered to learn.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: I love this shop. Also, I already have two Mists and hope to help out with this shop, as I LOVE the concept.
How often are you on Gaia?: Everyday for an hour more or less, except on posted family vacations & such; MORE ON WEEKENDS
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): Nope.
Extra info we should know I like pandas? And elves? Aaaannnnddd Harry Potter. twisted Actually, most of my names are swahili, which I look up English words in a translator/dictionary.
Any ideas for the shop?: Well, maybe like some game interface-ish system where there can be different rankings in player-created guilds. Also, in addition to aging items, de-aging items, though I don't know why. neutral
RP sample:
-is that enough? lol xp -
Usani sat at her station in the small shack, humming a tune she'd known as far back as she could remember. "Hummm--deedoola-juh," she sang. She heard a twig crack outside and whirled around on her stool. She was both relieved and disappointed when she saw two familiar girls strut into the shop. What are they doing here, thought Usali, have they come to mock me again? Usani stared hard at her work as they approached, trying to control herself. The girls stopped right in front of her and she prepared for their harsh words. " Oh look who's here," one said," the oddity that calls herself a witch," she finished, her words echoing through Usani's head. The two were now laughing at her, with no attempt at hiding it. Why would anyone care, Usani was never given respect because she had chosen to be a blacksmith, not even if she produced the finest weaponry around.
LilllyCat
Your Name: LilllyCat
NPC character name: Hope
NPC character species: Fae Folk
NPC character demeanor: Creative, Curious, Silly, Playful, Kind
How your character gets involved in this: She would help care for younger ones untill they are old enough to be on their own. Her creative nature helps her come up with new ideas and make beautiful paintings. She spends hours just painting pictures of the world. She is always curious and is always exploring and going to meet new creatures. She can get real hyper and silly at times. This could be good or bad depending on the situation. She is very kind too and tries to help others all the time.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: Because I love the shop and I love to role play.

Extra info we should know
Any ideas for the shop?: I would love to see some cat familures. Also a race of cat people!
RP sample:
Hope sat in the chair and stared at the blank canvas in front of her. She begins to paint and then stops when she feels a tug on her sleeve. She looks to her side and sees several younger ones. "Hello there little ones. Is something wrong?" The children all jump up and down in excitement and scream "Will you play with us?" Hope giggles and puts her brush and paints down. She could always paint another day. "Sure what do you want to play?" The children all want to play different games. Hope smiles and gets an idea. "Why don't we play hide n seek. You hide and I will find you." So all the kids run and hide and then Hope flys after them.
Later that night Hope is sitting alone in a tree. All the little ones are now asleep so Hope now has time to paint. But she is too busy watching the stars. "I wonder what is out there. One day I will fly as high as the stars and see whats there."
Example of role play from Katakin Islands.
Its late at night and the mist has begain to roll accross the land. Deep in the mist a strange creature has appeared.
Mist: What a beautiful night. I wonder if I will see anyone tonight before the mist leaves.
Nearby a young Katakin sits by a fire. Pheonix couldn't find a place to stay so she had to camp outside.
A little farther away there is a big house. Inside Molly, Luke, Dream, Star, Emerald, Jay, Jello, Layla, and all the familures get ready for bed. Outside of the house in the pond Reshell is also getting ready to go to sleep.
The mist begins to spread further and soon covers Pheonix's camp. Pheonix looks around and cant see threw the mist. Then she feels a hand on her shoulder. She screams and tries to get away.
Mist: Calm down I'm not going to hurt you. I was just wondering if you would mind me joining you by the fire.
Pheonix: Oh I'm sorry I just didnt think anyone was out here. Sure you can join me.
Mist sits down beside Pheonix and tries to get warm. Pheonix tries to get a good look at her visiter but cant see her face. All she sees is the shape of a female Katakin.
Reshell swims around getting ready to go to sleep. She thought she heard a scream but is not sure where it came from. Someone is out there but where?

Anatometal
Your Name: Anatometal
NPC character name: Triscalian
NPC character species: Fae Folk
NPC character demeanor: Triscalian is rather selfish and lives to please only herself. She'll walk over whom ever she feels is in her way to get what she wants, and get it fast. Hardly ever feeling remorse for her greedy actions she has a difficult time trying to find love, though many often wonder if she can love at all.
How your character gets involved in this: Living most of her teen years as a theif Triscalian never stayed in one place long, as she was always on the run; whether it was from law, or simply herself. Upon struggling into a mystical forest, she somehow began to feel more at ease. Still remaining hidden, she's taken refuge, watching all those who inhabit the forest - waiting to make herself known.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: Whelp, I'm finding it more and more difficult to find decent roleplays out there. Managing one for a shop would help alot, as I could easily keep up with things; and there would be more structure. Plus, I just want a fancy reason to stare at the amazing artwork all day.
How often are you on Gaia?: Too often. Several hours a day.
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): Yes, I run my own. BeetleGryphs

Any ideas for the shop?: Perhaps more races? Such as halflings?
RP sample: Triscalian scowled as she caught a faint glimpse of the morning sun dimly peeking over the half decayed red wood trees. Morning meant people, people and her did not mix. With a gruff sigh and a roll of her eyes she re-positioned heself on the mountain's ledge; just enough to peer down on the forest folk emerging from their homes. "I pity them... always in need of interaction as a general basis to get through their boring days... she grumbled while sinking her teeth into a bright red apple. Grinning smugly to herself, she brushed some of her coppery red locks from in front of her lifeless grey eyes - for she had just spotted someone wearing a gorgeous sapphire pendant lined with the purest silver she's ever seen; it was beautiful, and it was going to be hers. Standing in a most cocky manner, she brushed the dirt from her clothes and pulled her cloak up over her head in lame attempt to hide her face.
Rather less than gracefully, she tossed her half-eaten apple aside and began strutting down the rocky hill, slightly tripping over a pebble. She wasn't more than a quater of the way down when she heard a most familiar voice...
Tris...?
Her face ran pale as she turned to face her follower, a bead of sweat ran down her cheek; quickly soaking into her cloak.
What are you doing here? How long have you been here... an... This voice was softer, and more gentle than Tris's, yet they sounded much alike.
Triscalian cut the fae off, snapping quickly. I did NOT come here on purpose, I found this place... well rather, it found me. Ever since the war I've been on the run - stealing to survive. I feel almost secure here, and that's why I haven't left yet. Now, Arlette, my sister... what're you doing here?
Still remaining hidden, she's taken refuge, watching all those who inhabit the forest - waiting to make herself known.

krunkkid
Your Name: krunkkid
NPC character name: Jinkitsu
NPC character species: Wind Apparition
NPC character demeanor: Enigmatic and Evil
How your character gets involved in this: Jinkitsu was a mass murderer and he killed many people. He was on the run and he entered the mist, not caring about the fate that was before him.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: This pet is like nothing I have ever seen and the concept rocks. I think I could help this shop with my creativity and RP skills.
How often are you on Gaia?: 3 hours
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): No
Extra info we should know I think that this shop is gonna be HUGE
Any ideas for the shop?: I think that growths should be based on quests given by the commander of the mist.
RP sample:Jinkitsu awoke and stood as he took in his surroundings. "Interesting" Jinkitsu said to himself as he walked around for a moment. Jinkitsu coughed and let out a gust of wind. "What the hell...." Jinkitsu remembered the words he heard. "What am a I?" he whispered as he looked around again. Jinkitsu thought for a moment, hey wait if I can do that I could do this he thought. Jinkitsu sucked in a large breath and then blew it out knocking down trees. "Cool" he said to himself as he did it again this time knocking around a few small creatures.

SunnDance
Your Name: Sunndance
NPC character name: Keaira (Gaelic for Dark One)
NPC character species: Fae Witch
NPC character demeanor: Untrusting, Unsound
How your character gets involved in this: Keaira has been around for quite some time now. When she entered the mist it was purely by accident: you see, she was happy and in love and was planning to elope with her beloved on the very night she entered the mist. She entered while waiting in the woods for him to meet her, and in the excitement of young love saw the world beyond through what she would describe as rose colored glasses.
Her young innocence and excitement had a lot to do with her becoming a fae when she changed, even though her current temperment might be more likely to be associated with other type of beings. She had forgotten her previous life for her entire childhood beyond the mist but through some chance of fate remembered her previous life once she reached adulthood. Remembering her young love, she fell into a deep depression: after all, by this point he was likely long deceased and he had most likely run off and eloped with the changeling that took her place in her world. She became obsessed (and, over the years, a little mad in the crazy sense) over the life she considers was stolen from her. She first became obsessed with getting back to her world, somehow believeing that it was only a dream world that she was in and that she would be able to go back in time as well as space to marry her young love. This obsession led her to witchcraft, which is why is is both a fae and a witch. Keaira sees Asrai as the person who destroyed her life and although she has yet to go seriously go against her the possibility is definitely there. For whatever reasons (pity, understanding, her general goodness) Asrai has not punished Keaira yet, but there is definitely a sense of unease where Keaira is concerned.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: Well, I don't work in any shops that are at all roleplay intensive and I love to roleplay, especially planning events for roleplays and trying to find ways to keep everyone interested in what is going on. I'm glad to have gotten a pet so early on with this shop because it seems like a place that will be fun and I'm excited about being around to play here as it grows.
How often are you on Gaia?: pretty much every day for a few hours
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): I own two shops that I basically just color for: Plushie Isle and Neptune's Children. I also color on occasion for Lemondrops.
Extra info we should know I've been roleplaying for about 10 years both online and in real life. I love telling stories and can come up with original ideas. Also, I couldn't care either way if I get paid or not. I won't complain if I do, but...*shrugs*.
Any ideas for the shop?: A few roleplay ideas. First, that we have like a ball or party in character as a way of all the characters getting to meet each other and socialize and because it would just be fun. Second, perhaps a powers/skills guide. Like what witches can and can't do, what elves can do, etc. If every race has different abilities (and maybe specializations within the ability) that would be really spiffy. And lastly, and this is why I created this character the way I did, I feel that this world definitely has this beauty and magic and wonder about it, which is exciting and fun, but I also think there should be some sort of wild card character to mix things up and keep the roleplay interesting. Because plot is boring without conflict!
RP sample: ((I made up a fictional 'gathering' for use of this little roleplay with Keaira. Hope this is okay.))
Keaira walks back and forth in front of her hearth, muttering softly to herself and occasionally poking her small fire with a big stick that she taps along the ground as she walks. It is generally accepted that the witch doesn't need the walking stick, especially because many claim to have seen her without it, but she keeps it on her at all times. Above the fire there is a large black kettle with steam rising from it, carrying the overpowering scent of a mix of local herbs.
In the distance Keaira can hear the low hum of the crowd of fae that have gathered. Her cottage is beyond the outskirts of the homes of the fae but close enough that she can hear on still nights. On a night of a gathering, as this one is, she would probably be able to hear the buzz of excited chatter even if wind was howling and battering at her door.
The fae are gathering for a meeting called by Asrai. Keaira is curious to hear what is going on but she will not go to the meeting. She will not go even though Asrai sent a messenger to personally deliver her invitation to her cottage. She will not go even though all the fae are expected to. Or maybe it is more appropriate to say that she will not go because all the fae are expected to. Instead, she has prepared a brew and she will wait and listen.
As the buzzing gets louder and louder, Keaira's pace gets faster and faster. She taps the floor instead of actually using the stick to walk, and is obviously aggitated. Her murmuring dies down, however, as she pauses
occasionally to listen. The fae are simply gathering and making small talk, she knows. Although nobody is there to appreciate her parody, she talks to herself in the imagined voices of the other fae. "Hello how are you?" "I'm well, thank you so very much, how are you?" "I'm doing delightfully well, I just saved a young child from a wild boar today. I feel so good about myself!" "Oh, that's wonderful! We live such amazing lives here." "I know, I just love helping others." "So do I, isn't that grand?"
"Oh, it's just lovely," Keaira says in her own voice. "Everyone is gathering about, talking about how wonderful they are, oblivious to the true pain of this existance. And here I am, all alone in my cottage, the only one that understands." She doesn't take the fact that she was invited to the gathering into consideration.
Suddenly, the buzzing stops completely and Keaira stops pacing barely a moment later. She pulls a low stool closer to the fireplace and slowly sits down on it, placing her stick at her feet. "They are quiet now because
Asrai has appeared, and they will hang on her every word in hushed astonishment until she has finished speaking." Keaira talks to herself as if it was nothing. She breathes in the vapors from the brew in long, slow breaths and closes her eyes. It might be a trick of the mind but it seems as if the vapors start to rise slightly out of the kettle.
She is motionless and quiet for a long time. There is a hoot of an owl in the distance but she makes no move to show that she has even heard it and is definitely not startled by it. And then, just as suddenly as it ended, the buzzing starts up again. Keaira opens her eyes. It is unclear how she heard the speach in the distance, but like the other fae, she is moved by Asrai's announcement: there are newcomers to land, and the fae are to welcome them and teach them as they grow.
Keaira frowns, the same frown she frowns every time Asrai makes this same annoucement. The poor new souls, she thinks, don't have any idea what they have been dragged into. She sighs and stands, using her walking stick to get up. Slowly, she moves towards the door, opens it and exits. It is time to make her appearance at the gathering.
The fire goes out behind her.

RP sample:
A typical Friday night in the woods. Music and lights working because of a small shack with power.
Cleared areas filled with teenagers that had nothing better to do with their night, or that thrived on the feeling their body crushed against a total stranger, skin to skin, with the bass setting the pace of their heartbeat. Where drugs were being ingested like candy, and chased with your choice of liquor. A dangerous combination that only made the night that much better once you knew that you’d survived. Though even without the drugs and the drinks, raves were always an assault on the senses, in the best way possible.
This was exactly why Rhiannon was there at that very moment. Her thin, pale arms were thrown up in the air, hands moving to the music, fingers relaxed as movement flowed through them as well. Her whole body seemed to feel the music as she moved fluidly in the little space that was offered to her. There were girls and guys all around her, their hands up in the air as hers were, or around each other. Here, it didn’t matter if the person who had their arms around your waist, fingers gently tracing your spine, was a stranger or not. You just got caught up in the moment. She knew that she had, too many times to count. Though, she never let it go anywhere. The only thing that could possibly cloud her judgment was the music. Once you gave in, it was hard to bring yourself out of it.
Though at the moment, she didn’t have anyone else’s hands on her. The only thing touching her skin was her clothing, which was beginning to feel like a second skin with how humid it was. She wore a simple cotton shirt that had been somewhat loose on her small frame before, but that now clung to her seemingly for dear life. It was white, so on parts where there was no design; one could see her pale skin, even though it came dangerously close to matching the shade of the shirt. To make sure that not too much skin could be seen, a black bar was emblazoned across her bust, and a few more were done several inches below that. Over those bars was printed a skull with rabbit ears, similar to the rabbit Frank in Donnie Darko, but somehow, not as sinister. The back said simply, in majuscule black letters, ‘HATERS MAKE ME FAMOUS.’ The hem of the shirt fell just short of her hipbones, revealing a strip of skin, as well as her hipbones. Sitting, quite low, on her hipbones was a mini-skirt, black, white and red with its design. It was screen printed of course, with various symbols on it. For example, the hieroglyphics that everyone associated with the band THIRTYSECONDSTOMARS. As well as various other little things that she had fallen in love with over the years, like medical crosses and syringes. It was also adorned with various sized pins, and the thick belts of bullets that sat sideways on her hips only drew more attention to the skirt. Encasing her legs was a very holey and much worn pair of fishnets, and on her feet were her scuffed and falling apart combat boots. She refused to part with the poor things though, to put them out of their misery.
Minutes passed, and the beat changed, and she flowed right from one to another, at least until she felt a light, cold touch across the bare skin on her hips, a feeling that immediately caused her to open her eyes, revealing her irises to be of a light hazel color, flecks of a lighter amber ring around her pupil, as well as flecks of the same color throughout her iris. Though, she didn’t let the touch break her rhythm. Her hair, that was a redish brown, still flowed with the beath. She simply kept going as her full lips parted slightly, taking in a deep breath of air, getting more smoke instead, whether it was from cigarettes or the smoke machine that was going, she didn’t know. When she looked around, however, she didn’t see anyone. The people that were around her were still the same ones, even though now, they may have been doing something quite a bit different. And even as she stood there with her eyes wide open, and keeping herself constantly moving, she felt another touch brush across her cheek, seeming to travel towards her neck before she forced herself backwards, still dancing as she made her way through the tightly bound crowd. Though, once she had relocated herself, she fell back into the fluid dance again, confident that whatever it was that had gotten to her moments ago would have a hard time following her. She brushed away the feeling of sweat underneath her eyes, careful not to smudge the dark make-up that she’d applied so carefully before making her way to the warehouse.
After a few minutes, when she didn’t feel anything brushing across her skin, she decided that she was now safe from whatever it was that had been bear her earlier, and she lost herself in the music once again, her hands once again in the air, the only thing having changed being the way her body moved to the beat of the music.
Not seconds later, she felt hands grip her waist, felt someone much closer to her than anyone had been before. she opened her eyes once again, but not in alarm this time, more to get a look at the person that had stepped up to her. After all, the touch was warm this time, feeling much more human, and therefore not striking her as all too odd. She couldn't make out the man's features right away, it was too dark behind him, and her eyes were distracted by the bright colors that were there one seconds and gone the next, leaving a trail of color for her eyes to marvel at. The only thing she could make out was that he was taller than her, by at least six inches, that he had longer, shaggy hair, falling at about his chin, and features that were defined and angular. With the defined features, the lights cast the most exquisite shadows, as least when the light was present. She couldn't help but smile to herself as she closed her eyes and continued to dance, her hands falling from the air and coming to rest on the man's shoulders, her the tips of her fingers toying with the tips of his hair.

MoonRazor
Your Name: MoonRazor
NPC character name: Alatáriel (or, for easier typing purposes, simply Alatariel)
NPC character species: Fae folk
NPC character demeanor: Coquettish and vain
How your character gets involved in this: L'ariel (as is her nickname) had always been the town beauty. Daughter of the richest and most powerful man in the town, she got used to using her innate charm and beauty to persuade all to let her have her own way. When her father then found out, he was furious for having such a daughter and banished her from the town.
She found some kind hospitality in a young man who owned a cottage in the middle of nowhere, but when she realized he was backing her into a corner and almost forcing her to marry him, she turn cold and even hostile toward him, but did not leave for fear of being without common luxuries such as a soft bed and warm food (she is, undoubtedly, the vainest and most spoiled creature to ever walk the planet). One night, the young man completely crossed the line and raped her, and for fear of being violated by him again, L'ariel was forced to flee. She left the cottage at night, and because she knew he would track her down the moment he realized she was missing, she ran blindly across the unfamiliar terrain, and by the time she realized she had run into the swirling mist, she had changed and it was took late to turn back.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: I love the concept of the shop, and since I love to roleplay and help think up plots and such, I thought I'd give applying a shot. I think this shop has a lot of potential (and awesome art xD).
How often are you on Gaia?: Quite a few hours each day (Maybe four or five on weekends while I multi-task, and quite a bit more on weekends), although I am on EST+11 (or +12 in the summer) time... xP
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): Yup. Mostly, I'm a colorist for shops I work at, but most of the stores I frequent are places I RP at (such as Pride Lands, Mush!, and The Legacy of the Firebringer). Moon works at: Wolfs Woods, Painted Kitty, Of Pride and Pack to name a few. I'll add the others... sometime xD
Extra info we should know Well, probably just that timezones thing... I hate living in China (no, it's not cool xD)
Any ideas for the shop?: I think that there should be big events (in the plot), such as a ball to celebrate each Elder's birthday, etc, which would provide for a good topic for small talk if ever it is needed, and could also become those things that is talked about by everyone everywhere, and would also provide more chances for general socializing between all the characters.
RP sample:
Mist swirled all around, drifting low to the ground and snaking possessively around her ankles. Alatariel felt frozen, rooted to the ground. No, that wasn't quite it. She was... bound to the ground. But by what? She lifted the hem of her elegant white dress, which had miraculously remained pristine and white in the midst of all the mud and fog, to peer at the ground. But the fog was far too thick and she could barely see her fingers if she held her hand up in front of her.
"Hello?" Her lonely call echoed and leapt back at her. She was alone. So alone. And suddenly, a shadow passed behind her, with broader shoulders and a taller frame. Alatariel whirled around, her breath coming fast and shallow as fear gripped her in its icy claw. She felt a chill from the fog, and she could almost hear the leaves rustling in response to something - or someone's - presence. It was him...
Alatariel felt a shiver race down her spine as she tried desperately to peer through the fog. But try as she may, she could only hear, and whatever it was was approaching her. Nearer... nearer... Alatariel turned around slowly, afraid to look...
"Wh..." Alatariel bolted upright, her head jerking about in frenzy as she tried to remember where she was. She was completely drenched in sweat, and there seemed to be a blanket of fog covering her. She brushed it away, and looked around, feeling somewhat more at ease. It was a dream. Only a dream. She loosed a sigh of relief, and leaned her head back. Against... She looked behind her, and saw the trunk of a massive tree towering above her. It was so vast that she was certain its branches reached all the way into the sky and penetrated the heavens.
But why was she here? Alatariel remembered with a shudder the incident that had forced her to flee from a warm bed and hot food, feeling herself mentally recoil at the all too vivid memory. How long had it been since she had left? She guessed it was the same night as she had last been concious, but she had no memory of wandering into a forest and she wondered at her arrival to where she presently sat.
After a moment's brief and inconclusive contemplation, Alatariel pushed herself weakly to her feet, massaging feeling back into her legs as she took a step forward and almost collapsed. She was in a clearing of some sort, surrounded by tall trees, each as intimidating as the last. But she gleaned little from what she saw, except that the moon was hanging high and bright in the night sky. Feeling somewhat defeated, but not at all disappointed, Alatariel slipped back to the spot at which she had awoken, and curled herself into a fetal position, tucking her knees toward her. The same blanket of fog seemed to lay gently on her again, and warmth spread through her chilled body as she shut her eyes. She felt more at home than she had in so long, and so much less lonely, despite knowing that she was alone in her little clearing. Reaching back, she smoothed down the wings on her back and began to slip into a deep slumber.
...Wings...?
But she was already asleep.

Deranged Negi
Your Name: Deranged Negi
NPC character name: Azilak
NPC character species: Twilight Elf {Some basic info...Twilight Elves are the close cousins of the Night Elves. Significant differences are in their appearances and overall "purpose" if you must. Unlike their cousins (both Night Elves and normal Elves) Twilight Elves rarely cast offensive magic. And etc which you probably don't want to hear from me xD}
NPC character demeanor: Azilak is a kind woman in all her ways. She comes out as a rather vivacious young woman which gives her a more humble and welcoming behavior. Always there to help a hand, Azilak is seemingly the hostess type. Despite her friendliness, Azilak can be quite ferocious in protecting Mist which also proves her firm will and loyalty to Asrai.
How your character gets involved in this: As a child, Azilak was never the down to earth type. She always had her head stuck in a book or was dreaming of a life of adventure. Even for her bookworm-like nature, Azilak was quite rebellious and spent much of her time outside (probably with a book or wandering around). Wanting to have at least some control of the girl, Azilak's father had arranged a betrothal. When Azilak herself found out, she planned an escape which was quite unrealistic, due to her mixing in fantasies from novels and some of her own creation. When the twilight came about, Azilak made her escape, running off with one of her father's chargers. Days on end she rode until finally she found herself utterly lost, but what could you expect when you dreamt of the world you were living in? She wandered about for about a day, and when night came, Azilak sought shelter in a forest. There she was greeted by Hanno as in with all the other humans. Seeing but a bleak future, Azilak took the opportunity to live her fantasy dream and entered into the portal.
Why YOU wanna be a staff member: Roleplaying and writing is one of my favorites of the online world, and I'm always looking for something new to try out. The fundamental idea that has begun to take place in this shop interested me and seeing opportunity to get involved was something I couldn't resist. As for the specificity of a RP Manager, I guess there's not much that's quite appealing to say xD but I've always loved fantasy RPs and once again, this was something I couldn't pass down.
How often are you on Gaia?: Due to not having a life...every day xD Sometimes even 24 hours xD On weekends it goes on and off, I'm usually on for the duration of the weekend. As for weekdays, it's when I get off of school meaning about five to six hours I can get on.
Do you work in other shops? (Post links): {My Shop} Technically my graphic shop is on hiatus since I'm waiting for my friend to obtain a steady schedule in which she can actually get on the internet without damaging RL. I'm not taking any orders until she gets back so it's technically closed.
Extra info we should know: I can be dense...a lot of the time xD BUT I ASSURE YOU, when it comes down to it, I'm pretty sharp...xD
Any ideas for the shop?: You've probably heard this a billion times but...I know this shop is relatively new, and I was thinking. Whoever gets hired or whoever doesn't, perhaps a plot should be in the making? And I'm sure you may already have one *shrugs* and by plot I mean by not necessarily WORLD WAR conflict type plot but perhaps something more. Maybe a quest system of the sort where owners can gain special items? (So it'll kind of be like an event thread of the sort.) Also perhaps special guardians? That may be quite farfetched though...
RP sample: Kyra looked at the chocolate popsicle, the odd thought that crossed his mind was, 'What did she do to it?' It had been just three minutes, since Lyra had popped up out of nowhere, handed him a popsicle, yelled at him for not getting it himself, and then ran down the hall with her own frozen strawberry shortcake, hunting down some other person. Kyra didn't want a popsicle either...or at least he never voiced the desire for one to the little child, Lyra apparantly heard otherwise and obviously thought he was too lazy to get it himself. 'She must have...peppered it or something,' thought Kyra and he examined the popsicle closely for any defects. "My goodness just eat the thing," snorted Ashien as she walked down the hallway. Kyra hadn't noticed her among the many who were wearing white lab coats. He cocked his head, Ashien was always so solemn, she rarely talked to anyone beneath her own rank, which was being one of the senior scientists.
"YOU HELPED HER!" Kyra said accusingly. "You two together must have poisened this...that is why...you are talking to me!" A small smile appeared on the grim woman's face. "You're crazy, my dear," Ashien said stopping to look at him. She pushed her glasses further up her nose so that she was actually wearing them now versus them hanging by the tip of her nose. "It was a thoughtful token, can't you just eat it?" Her voice had changed from the cold, monotic to a softer tone. Even so, it was barely a difference. And on that note Ashien left without another word. Kyra sighed, she made it sound so bad, he didn't know why he doubted Lyra or the popsicle. Shrugging he simply put it in his mouth and licked away.
Sad part was Kyra was right all along. A few minutes after devouring the delicious popsicle he was completely knocked out on the twenty-second floor. He didn't know how long it had been but Kyra woke up to see a vast majority of people. All were obviously proud at the accomplishment of having had Kyra knocked out, his other teammates had thrown a party, for him that is. Oddly they had remembered his 768th birthday (which would be about 18 in human years). More to his surprise, the whole upper council was there, as well as the division of the scientists senior and junior, of course his own district, the majority of Fallens, several other districts, his...'fans' if you would, some members he recalled, nearly all the humans that had been here since they were children, and of course Lyra herself, the proud 'assasin.' Kyra was still groggy, when he fially rose from the couch, shouts of supposed glee followed. Everyone was watching...
Toko shifted the little girl and sighed, Rapham was silently following behind. They continued on until they reached the council room. As Toko entered the members rose until he took his seat. Rapham muttered and took Lyra taking his own seat while others began entering. Several minutes passed fifteen minutes already into the meeting.
Cassadon shifted and stretched as if he were normally sleeping. "SIR!" Came a scratchy voice from thin air. "SIR CAN YOU HEAR ME?! SIR!" The voice was a young man's, rather high and scratchy, the static didn't help. Cassadon muttered his eyes slowly fluttering open, a huge migrane pouncing upon him. "...Ferrr..." he slurred then stopped, seeing that his speech would probably come out in a jumble. Toko's wings must of had poison within them, and it had entered into his blood stream causing him his grogginess. That was the only problem, the pain of Toko's wing totally going through Cassadon's shoulder was nothing, but the pain of whatever Toko had done internally was too much, no concentration needed on that one. Cassadon's hand went to his neck, it slowly found the chain in which his vile had been hanging from. His hand followed the chain down to the small bottle to find that it had shattered. "s**t..." he cursed beneath his breath then moaned.
Kyra's hand curled into a fist as there was several pulses before the air was silent again. He groaned but didn't move save for his left hand that went up to his ear. Without opening his eyes, Kyra began to thumb the earrings placed on his ear. He found that most had broken and were still attatched to his ear or wedged in. "********..." he muttered feeling the small pains all over his body. ((Note that the italics are past...which is why it may be a bit confusing))

Very interesting! Just wondering... For the RP sample what exactly do you want? (past RP post or a new one... Like an intro preview)

An intro preview would be great but if not, a past RP post will do fine 3nodding

You can post the application in the thread
Yes, it would be best for the character to be loyal to Asrai because they are helping her watch the shop wink
