~~Welcome to Pharaohdise!~~
Where you, too, can raise your very own Egyptian God or Goddess!
I've always loved ancient Egyptian mythology and their beliefs.
And I've especially loved the Gods and Goddesses they worshipped.
I wanted to create something different that guys and gals alike would enjoy owning.
And thus the idea for this shop began.
I hope you enjoy. heart

I'm sure you'd now like examples of the art that I've created for the adoptables. However, since each God or Goddess is different, I didn't want to reveal any of the art that hasn't been released yet. Half the fun of a changeable creature is waiting to see what the next form will look like. whee I will, however, post an Anubis drawing I did a while ago for an inking and coloring example, as well as a couple of the forms that have been released thus far.

I will let you in on a little secret to help you... the Anubis adoptable (a future auction) will look similar to this. His color is the same, but I tried to make his adornments and such a little different from this older drawing of mine.

Each adoptable has 4 forms; unborn(in canopic jar), baby, adolescent and adult. Growth rate depends not only if you are roleplaying(which is optional) or just owning them, but how they are rasied IF you choose to roleplay them.

I've drawn them to be just like they were seen on egyptian wall paintings and heiroglyphs, but I've given them a more anime/anthro/furry look than in mythology.

For more on these adoptables, please see Post 3, the FAQ section. 3nodding

How it all began...

It all started on an archaeological dig in Egypt. I was an assistant to the famous Dr. Murdock, an archaeological professor at my university. He had chosen me for my skills in heiroglyphics studies to help him on any translations I may have had to decipher for him during the dig.

Dr. Murdock explained to me that the dig was not a large one, with very few people helping to unearth a small tomb he had discovered on a recent journey through the desert. Our college had money, but not enough to spend on something they didn't find important. Of course Dr. Murdock didn't agree with this, and decided to get a few students to help out, as well as get a learning experience from it.

I was excited, to say the least, and when we arrived at the site's camp I could see the large square stone sticking from the golden sand. It was nearly night by that time and I was told to rest up and be ready for the opening of the tomb tomorrow.

I didn't sleep well. My excitement coupled with a horrible case of jet-lag left me tossing and turning. So I got up late that night and wrapped myself in a warm blanket to keep the freezing desert air away before taking a walk around camp.

No matter the path I walked around the camp, my eyes were always drawn, squinting, to the stone block poking from the sand. On my third round I felt something drawing me near. Like the wind was whispering to me.

It was as if my legs belonged to someone else. My mind panicked slighty as the rest of my body trekked further into the desert and towards the stone block. It was much larger up close than it had the whole way from camp. The size of a small, one story house. I reached out my hand to touch the stone. It was warm. My fingertips dusted away sand still sticking to the stone, revealing heiroglyphs carved into the block. As my fingers caressed each one, they began to glow. I read the aloud, as the wind began to pick up:

In your hands are given,
Life and Rebirth.
The souls of old,
Shall live again.

I almost panicked again, thinking of horrible movies of mummies and undead kings. I braced myself against the freezing wind, placing the blanket over my mouth and nose. A block of stone, the door to the tomb, began to slide. The wind had stopped and revealed before me was a very plain tomb. I had expected more glamour; more gold and riches. Instead were neatly placed shelves, each holding rows of canopic jars. The thought almost repulsed me; canopic jars were supposed to hold the body parts of those who were mummified.

But as I stepped into the tomb I knew these were different. I could feel the energy of life within them, as if a small child were inside ready to be born. In the center of the room was a dusky book on a pedestal that read in more ancient text, 'How to care for the Heavens' Children'. I laughed. A child care book? Apparently all the raucus had awakened most of the camp, Dr. Murdock included, and they all stood at the doorway looking to me.

I smiled to Dr. Murdock.
"It seems as if we're the proud parents of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses ready to reborn."

I obviously can't take care of all these God and Goddesses myself.
I'm trusting this to you to help me out.

[RULES:]
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.RULE #1- RULE OF ALL RULES!!! Do not steal my art! I, above all else, hate art thieves. I've done the drawing, inking and coloring of each and every single god and goddess, which was a lot of hard work! I do not appreciate it being used without permission! If I find my art being used anywhere other than the owner's journal or signature, you will IMMEDIATELY be reported to the admins so they may properly take care of it.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#2- There will be no reselling, trading, or giving away of an already adopted god or goddess without my explicit permission! I find this to be another form of art theft!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#3- Please no whining or griping about the prices of my adoptables, especially in this thread. I've worked hard on the drawings, inking and coloring of each individual adoptable, as well as planned everything out for a long time on how to sell these adoptables. I feel my flat sales prices are reasonable in compairison to all of this. I will give a fair heads-up that they *will* be a bit more than most adoptables.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#4- Please DO NOT PM ME about buying or auctioning Gods or Goddesses! Only current owners of a god or goddess may PM me if they wish to talk about roleplaying or have a question.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#5- Flat Sales are first come, first serve. I'm sorry if you've missed out on a specific god or goddess you wish to have, since there will only be 1 of each god or goddess sold ever. However, if you still wish to make a purchase, bookmark my thread and look for future auctions or flat sales. (I plan on getting most all of the well-known gods and goddesses done, even some of the lesser known)

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#6- There will be no co-owning of pets. This isn't so much a big deal as the rest of the rules, but I still believe there should be 1 pet per person. I'm not sure I could keep track of 2 or more people owning one God or Goddess.

[F.A.Q.:]
Q1.) Are the adoptables breedable?
A1.) No. My Egyptian Adoptables are Changeable and Roleplayable, but there will be no breeding amongst them. I know in real Egyptian mythology, the Gods and Goddesses Bred and had children amongst themselves, but I found the mythology of it to be WAY to complicated to have breeding going on.

Q2.) How do we Roleplay with our adoptables if they don't have stats?
A2.) Again, it was a complication factor. Your Gods and Goddesses will be roleplayable by a journal each owner will keep. I will also be setting up an 'Egyptian Tomb Room' Thread where owners may free-form roleplay with their adoptables with other owners.

Q3.) Do we have to roleplay with our adoptable? Can't we just buy one and show it off in our sig because it's pretty?
A3.) Of course not! Roleplaying is optional. I realize some people just don't have the time to keep a journal or play in the Tomb Room Thread, but would like to just own one of the Egyptian Gods or Goddesses. All the buyer has to do is state whether they want to RP or not when they buy an adoptable. (I'm sure the RP-ing part of my adoptables will be more fun, though, if more people opt to RP with them. wink )

Q4.) If we choose to roleplay, how do we keep a journal?
A4.) It's actually quite easy. Once you are the brand new owner of a God or Goddess, I will start a thread in the 'Breedable/Changing Pets Roleplay' section of Gaia. This journal can be set up any way you want, and basically you can say or do whatever you want in it. Look at is as the story of how you came to purchase your god or goddess (maybe play off the original sotryline I've created) and how you raise them, or events you and your god or goddess went through. It's limited only by your imagination.

Q5.) How and when will my adoptable change to it's next stage in life?
A5.) This depends on, first of all, if you are role-playing with it or not. If you are NOT roleplaying with your adoptable, and have chosen to just own it because you like it, or show it off in your signature, it will most likely change to the next form in 3-4 weeks. If you have chosen to roleplay with your god or goddess, I will be checking in on your journal often to see how you are raising your adoptable, and depending on what you've done, I will find a correct time to change it to it's next form. (Keep in mind, though, that the LEAST amount of time I will change your adoptable in is 3 weeks. I can't have the adoptable rushing through all 4 stages of it's life in a week or 2 sweatdrop )

Q6.) Where do we find the roleplaying thread?
A6.) Right HERE. This is the thread everyone will use to free form RP with their god or goddess. If you want to view the journals of those who are roleplaying with one, the links to their journals are found in the Owners section of the shop.

Q7.) Can I pay for the adoptable in installments?
A7.) No. I hate to sound so untrustworthy, but I'd prefer you gave me the payment in one lump sum. I really don't want to have to deal with an unpaying customer.

Q8.) Do you accept any items or letters as payment if I don't have the gold?
A8.) No. I prefer pure gold. I might make an occaisional acception here in the case of letters, but it all depends on what the letter is.

Q9.) Can we own or buy more than one adoptable?
A9.) I never thought about this when I first opened the shop, but I'm thinking of limiting to 1 god/goddess per person, so that it's only fair to everyone who wants to own one.

Any further questions or rules that may pop up over time, I will add as I go. Thanks for any help on these you might give. ^_^

My personal Work Journal.
What have I been up to??...

[[June 10, 2004]] - Setet's Seth has finally been born. He looks dear now, but a god of Chaos can't be that sweet looking for long, can he?...

[[June 8, 2004]] - Wow, Anubis is finally an adolescent! And the Hathor auction was a success. I didn't expect her to go for so much o_0 Thanks so much to Vieve for giving her a good home! heart

[[June 2, 2004]] - *GASP* Mau's Isis has finally been born!! Isn't she so sweet looking, sleeping there? Hathor auction will be over tomorrow night, so bid now!

[[June 1, 2004]] - DC's Thoth is now an adolescent! Look at that God of Wisdom... studying already. biggrin Hathor is up and running for auction. Please give her a home! crying

[[May 30, 2004]] - *GASP* Alex Cloud's Alehria (Nut), has finally been born! Congrats on the beautiful baby girl goddess. ^_^ PsychoZombie's Sobek has also made his way into adolescence.

[[May 29, 2004]] - Next two flat sales were up, and then sold quite quickly o.0 I didn't expect it, really. ^^; I skipped the auction until after Osiris and Sekhmet were sold, since I was kinda indecisive on who to auction for a while. ^^; Hathor will most likely be up for auction next week sometime.

[[May 21, 2004]] - *GASP* ChibiSchuldig's Horus hatched! Poor guy's as nakie as Thoth, and he doesn't have the yellow markings on his beak yet.

[[May 19, 2004]] - *GASP* Sayuri_Nitta's Bastet has just been born! Isn't she just adorable??? Wow, Seth and Isis sold quicker than I thought they would. I always think that the human gods and goddesses aren't going to sell as well just because they aren't animals. ^^; Now that they've found wonderful homes, I'll try and get the next auction up within this next week. If I can't come up with a god or goddess that's good enough to be auctioned, I'll just go straight to the next 2 flatsales.

[[May 16, 2004]] - *GASP* Almighty Ace's Anubis has finally been born! He's just the most adorable thing ever... ^_^ I'm thinking of adding a space to my shop so everyone can see the forms that all gods and goddesses have been through this far. Also, hopefully you all read this... because tomorrow sometime will be the Seth and Isis flat sales. So be ready!

[[May 14, 2004]] - *GASP* Thoth has hatched! He's so ugly he's cute ^_^ Poor birds... hatching with little to no feathers... That's okay, I'm sure Demonic Curse still loves him just the same! He'll get his feathers eventually ^^; Nut auction going on now until Sunday evening.

[[May 12, 2004]] - *GASP* PsychoZombie's Sobek has been born!!! He's such a cute lil croc. And I've gotten 3 toys up, especially made for the upcoming infant gods and goddesses. They're up a day late, but I'm a little behind. ^^; Most likely, Nut will be up for auction sometime tomorrow.
