Hi everybody! Like many of you, I've had a hankering for commissions of my OCs lately. But looking through the request boards has got me depressed. Does it really take 50k to get a decent pic?! That's what I’m here to find out.

I'm not that poor anymore! surprised But that doesn't mean I'm not still looking for cheap decent art. If you're interested in drawing any of my babies, leave some samples and a price range! Or you could stay here and talk. I can't guarantee I'll get back here in any kind of regular fashion though. College tends to eat the brain. And soul.... @_@
Please don't give me links to art auctions unless the high bid is under 200k. Even then I don't like to spend all my gold in one place. I'd rather buy from art shops. Thanks.

New: The Modern Crackverse

The "Modern Crackverse" as I have come to call it is an alternate universe of my more fantasy-esque characters, created to tweak them into the modern world. After promising myself I wouldn't give them a plot, I promptly had an idea and couldn't get my brain to stop elaborating on it. sweatdrop
Each of them is a reincarnation of either a non-human character of mine or one living in a bygone era. For some reason each of them applied to a temp agency which is really a front for the governmental organization FLASH: Facility for the Location and Analysis of Special Humans. They have a system for detecting their subjects: all the pens given to their applicants contain special ink designed to turn from blue to green upon contact with their skin. They also leak. xd These pens were distributed to their partner companies around the world, so every applicant that walks through their front door is instantly screened. Once found, they are invited to attend the company's private school system in Akita prefecture, Japan.
Once there, the subjects are given special tapes to listen to while sleeping, as a kind of subconscious past-life regression to help them remember their past lives. The act of remembering something, whether it be the sudden acquisition of magical powers, transforming into your former self, or simply re-experiencing a crucial past memory, has been termed a "flash." This is what gave the organization its name in the first place.
The entire story was put together by me to emulate a somewhat cheesy anime, so I'd love for these guys to be drawn in a more mainstream anime style. Mock screenshots, manga character bio sheets, etc would get top dollar. ^_^ Of course I still stand by my opinion that individual artists should choose their subjects, as inspiration makes for the best art. But I'm also full of ideas for scenes! Feel free to post here or PM me for ideas.

Subject #01: Elena Collins
Reincarnation of: Elena Collins
Age: 22
Year: N/A
Eyes: gray

Height: 5'7"
Nationality: American
Languages: English, elementary Japanese
First Flash: ??
History: Not much is known about Elena. She knows very little Japanese, so she mainly stays inside the FLASH compound working or researching. She grew up in the mean town of Chicago, and got teased a lot for her prematurely gray hair and "geek" image. As she grew older her powers and memories began to return on their own. So the government acquired her and built the FLASH organization up around her.
Personality: Elena is sweet and reserved and usually doesn't react to much. She doesn't like to fight and certainly isn’t built for it, but her powers are the most developed so she helps out when she can. Her loyalty to FLASH is strong, and she hopes the others will come to trust them in time. She smiles sadly whenever Subject #02 is mentioned. She has been stereotyped by Mizuna as the mother figure of the group.
Appearance: She is usually seen in her FLASH uniform, which is a pale green color. It's open in the back to allow her to use her wings. Her skirt is longer than standard-issue, and she wears conservative loafers with long white socks. One lock of her long gray hair is always falling in her face.
Powers: Elena is able to sprout large gray wings at will, and has power over the wind and law domains via an "umbra" inside her.
Secrets: Elena is actually the daughter of an influential New York lawyer, but her parents were never actually married and the connection is a family secret. It would ruin his career if it ever got out.

Subject #03: 木村森春 (Kimura Moriharu)
Reincarnation of: Lantis Lossehelin
Age: 19
Year: college freshman
Eyes: sky blue

Nationality: Japanese

First Flash: The sound of a bamboo fountain in his family's hot springs sparked the memory of a gunshot wound received to the leg. As he collapsed from the remembered pain Moriharu found himself in a dingy alleyway, wearing tattered clothes. A woman with long brown hair kept calling him "Matt." He began babbling in a strange language and would have gone into shock if Amaya hadn't snapped him out of it.
History: He grew up in Japan's Akita prefecture, but taking care of his family's hot springs resort never appealed to him. He had an appetite for learning, and hoped to get a job to save up for college. The temp company he applied to just happened to be a front for the FLASH organization. They gave him a full scholarship to their university, pushing his dream of becoming a teacher within his grasp. He was one of the first to destroy his memory tape, but so far his "fake" memories keep coming...
Personality: Not quite as gentle as his past incarnation, Moriharu can be fiercely protective, especially when it comes to his sister. But he really just loves to read and learn. He prefers to think through situations rather than fight away with brute force. After nearly losing himself to his first flash, and later watching Amaya transform into a barbaric werewolf, he became convinced that FLASH was implanting these memories on purpose as come kind of twisted experiment. But right now he has no choice but to trust the organization, if only for the sake of his sister. Mizuna has stereotyped him as the cool mysterious bishie.
Appearance: Moriharu stands tall at 6'2" and is lanky without being athletic. Among his delicate facial features are kind sky-blue eyes and a long Roman nose. Outside of class or his job at the organization he wears nice jeans or casual slacks with collared, button-up shirts. His family owns a hot springs, so he wears kimonos on occasion too. He wears a lot of blues and greens.
Powers: ??
Secrets: He is really the reincarnation of a forest elf, but his first flash happened to be of the time when Lantis had to hide himself in the modern world. His cover name was Matt. One of Lantis' acquaintances looked a lot like Amaya's transformation...

Subject #04: 木村雨夜 (Kimura Amaya)
Reincarnation of: Visola
Age: 16

First Flash: As the full moon neared Amaya found her emotions increasingly harder to control. On the fatal night Moriharu and Lirit could do nothing but watch as she morphed into a huge brown werewolf devoid of anything but feral instincts. If Elena and FLASH hadn’t stopped her, she'd have hurt someone, or worse. Now her memories are returning in the form of horrific nightmares...
History: Her nii-chan and loving parents were all she could ever hope for growing up. She wants to carry on the family hot springs after her parents retire, but agreed to go with Moriharu when he went job hunting. As a result she was also invited to the private school system in Akita prefecture which is in reality owned and operated by FLASH. But her grades are beginning to slip now that the ravenous Wolf is taking hold of her mind...
Personality: Amaya is sweet and kind without being too girly. She is most attached to Moriharu, and calls him "nii-chan." But the memory tapes unleashed a monster; the Wolf barrages her with impulses which grow stronger with the moon. She's terrified that she might accidentally hurt someone and sees no way to control this thing. For now she's dependant on heavy sedatives and FLASH's containment unit every full moon. In her view of the group, Mizuna sees Amaya-chan as the troubled but inwardly-sweet one.
Appearance: Growing up without the Wolf has made her vastly different than her past incarnation. She's considerably smaller and more girly-looking, without the ample curves Visola possessed. She always wears the necklace Moriharu made her years ago in shop class, and enjoys dressing up from time to time.
Powers: Uncontrollable werewolf transformation.
Secrets: Visola actually learned to control her Wolf side eventually, but it was only after she believed her love to be dead. She fell in love with a demon who smelled like warm biscuits, and who told her she smelled like a field full of flowers.

Subject #05: Lirit Fikias
Reincarnation of: Lirit
Age: 19
Year: college freshman
Eyes: grey-blue
Hair: black
Height: 5'10"
Nationality: Greek
Languages: Greek, English, basic Japanese
First Flash: When Amaya first transformed her first target was her own stunned brother. Lirit pushed him out of the way, but became a target himself. With a mountain of fang and muscle bearing down on him, there was nothing for him to do but brace himself and pray. So imagine his astonishment when his own holy aura suddenly intervened! Wings sprouted from Lirit's back and his hair temporarily changed colors, while Amaya was driven off by the holy light.
History: Growing up in an orphanage run by the Greek Orthodox church, Lirit became enamored with music and quickly learned the guitar and flute. As he grew older he turned to street performing to support himself, but after high school it simply wasn't enough to pay the bills. So he went looking for a job and was offered a full scholarship to FLASH’s university in Japan. Moriharu agreed to tutor him in math after a lot of begging.
Personality: Happy and easygoing, Lirit's still not used to all the formality of Japanese culture. He's friendly with everyone, which can sometimes be misconstrued as flirting by the female students. He shares Moriharu's worry about Amaya, but he's not so sure FLASH's intentions are sinister. He was the first to talk to their resident psychiatrist about his flashes. Mizuna categorizes him as the goofball of the group.
Appearance: At 5'9" he looks just like the old Lirit's human form. Broad shoulders and a lanky frame are accompanied by a large nose that gives him a goofy appearance. He doesn't like to wear the coat and vest of the college uniform, so he went with a comfortable sweater instead. He carries his guitar around everywhere, even though the professors scold him about it. While not in school or the organization, he wears comfortable shirts and jeans, and mostly open-toed sandals. He has a silver ring in his right ear, and wears a rosary around his neck on occasion. His FLASH uniform is open in the back to allow him to use his wings.
Powers: Angelic transformation: wings and a holy shield.
Secrets: Lirit used to be an angel of music. During the next few weeks he'll gradually begin to know songs out of the blue, and understand lyrics from languages he doesn't actually speak. When transformed he'll be able to play any instrument. His past life was nearly burned at the stake by the Puritans because they mistook him for a witch.

Subject #06: Natalie Kent
Reincarnation of: Natsumi Kerin
Age: 15
Year: high school 1st

Nationality: Canadian

History: Natalie's father took her hunting a lot in the Canadian backwoods, and she learned to shoot a bow at a young age. After he died she was sent to a foster home, but she still wanted to get a job to support herself. An all-expense-paid trip to Japan was an adventure she couldn't pass up.
Personality: She is very much the straight man, always scolding Mizuna for her childish ways and trying in vain to keep her head out of the clouds. Yet she's secretly sad that the others are having adventures and getting weird powers while so far she's gotten nothing. Even her pet rabbit is getting flashes! Is FLASH's patented testing procedure wrong? Mizuna sees her as the smart straight-laced one.
Appearance: Natalie is slightly taller than Mizuna, but is still less developed than most of the freshman class. She usually dresses practically, but likes to go wild on occasion and has let Mizuna give her an EGA makeover. Her FLASH uniform (and her school uniform) makes her feel exposed, and she wishes she could get a longer skirt like Elena's. She hates the perverted looks she gets (or thinks she gets) from every boy in school.
Powers: ??
Secrets: Natalie has been having dreams of her past life, but it was so similar to this one that she can't tell the difference. That life didn't have any special powers. However she actually has two past lives! The other was known as Sailor Asteroid! When she finally transforms she'll be annoyed as hell that Mizuna's fantasies about a shojou team will have been right.

Subject #07: 渡辺水野 (Watanabe Mizuno)
Reincarnation of: Mizuna
Age: 14
Year: high school 1st

Hair: purple
Height: 5'2"
Nationality: Japanese
Languages: Japanese, enough English to sound cool
First Flash: Performing at one of her swim meets she heard Lirit screaming "Go Mizu!" Stopping dead in the water, she saw a vision of her merfolk parents readying themselves for battle. Her father screamed "Go Mizu!" just as the other swimmers, who had turned into the Heartless in her memory, came swimming back toward her. Her speed as she swum back to the pool edge would have broken a record if everyone hadn't been so focused on the fact that she choked up and nearly drowned.
History: She grew up in Chiba prefecture near Tokyo, the daughter of a fisherman and a self-made jewelry designer. The necklace she wears is her father's only dabbling in jewelry, and her mother made him promise to never do it again. xd After they died in an accident Mizuna refused her relatives' offers of help, insisting she could do things on her own. But being fired for the third time in a row for reading shoujo manga on the clock put her in dire straits. She applied to the temp agency as a last resort. Now FLASH takes care of all her bills, and she can rebuild the manga and EGL collections she had to pawn off.
Personality: Mizu has yet to grow up. She is still enamored with shoujo mangas and anime, and was so ecstatic to learn her past memories could give her superpowers she immediately went home and started working on a magical girl outfit. She calls everyone "chan" and "kun," except for Moriharu and Lirit, whom she refers to as "sempai." She tries to get Natalie to look on the bright side. After all, the person who gets their powers last always gets the best powers of all!
Appearance: She loves to dress up, and wears heels with her FLASH uniform even though they're incredibly impractical. Casual clothes are the typical funky style you'd see in Japanese fashion magazines, and she owns a lot of gothic lolita stuff. Mizuna also loves to do up her hair and makeup.
Powers: Control of water.
Secrets: Her past life was tricked into working for the bad guys after her parents died. It will be a giant blow once she remembers, but I suspect it won't keep her down for long; she'll just think it adds to the drama.

Subject #08: Fluffbucket
Reincarnation of: Fluffbucket

Nationality: Canadian

First Flash: He just began talking one day! A few days later he remembered the day a woman saved his past incarnation from a trap carelessly left by a hunter. The woman looked exactly like Natalie! Does this mean there's some hope of her getting powers after all?
History: Natalie got him at the animal shelter several years ago, and he's been her loyal pet ever since. Every night she would play the memory tape given to her by FLASH on a stereo without headphones, so it also went to work on him. Right now he's the most interesting case the FLASH scientists have ever come across, so they try and experiment on him whenever they can. He hates being prodded and poked, but a few snacks and some belly rubbing can usually persuade him.
Personality: Fluffbucket is a very mischievous rabbit, and has a hard time shutting up once he finally begins to speak. This causes problems for Natalie whenever she takes him out in public. He loves her though, and wants to make her happy. Mizuna calls him the cute fluffy mascot of the group.
Appearance: He's a normal-looking white rabbit with a pink ribbon around his neck.
Powers: Speech!

Future Subject #09: Alexander Drennan
Reincarnation of: Alexander Dobson
Age: 17
Year: high school junior
Eyes: very dark purple
Hair: black
Nationality: American
Languages: English, some Spanish
First Flash: The first of Alex’s powers to return was psychometry. One of his friends bought a bunch of ski masks for a group project, but one of them had a huge tear on the right cheek. That night as Alex was sewing it back together his ears began playing tricks on him, hearing strange alarms where there were none. A feeling of dread grew in the pit of his stomach, and before he knew it he was witnessing Sanura and Tahirah’s fateful last job. He woke up on the floor covered in sweat, clutching the mask with a death grip. It had belonged to Sanura.
History: He grew up with foster parents in New York, never knowing his real ones. He attends a private Catholic school and has good grades. After the mask incident he remembered the trial of Sanura 6 months prior, which had been highly publicized because she was declared mentally unfit to stand trial for raving about a non-existent sister. He sets out to find her at her workplace, to ask if what he saw really happened...
Personality: Alex is a very open, kind boy with many acquaintances but no really close friends. He hates being a burden on people but will go out of his way to help anyone he thinks needs it. He also hates being on boats because he always gets seasick. (He's got an inner ear imbalance, so he has terrible balance and gets vertigo easily too.)
Appearance: Unlike many boys his age, Alex hasn’t entirely filled out yet, so he’s tall and gangly. He’s got short black hair and black eyes with a slight purple tint to them. He has bifocals but only needs them for reading so he doesn’t like to wear them all the time.
Powers: Psychometry: the ability to feel emotions associated with objects by touching them. Sometimes he can even see entire events if the emotions are strong enough, as with Sanura’s ski mask.
Secrets: Alexander was a cleric to Lupe, the god of protection, in a Victorian steampunk society. His other powers will include protection and healing domains. Once Sanura witnesses he can heal just like Tahirah did she’ll stop being such a b***h to him and take him under her wing. Alex also has the potential to see the other subjects’ past memories if they are imprinted strongly enough on an object. For instance, if he ever sleeps in Sanura’s bed he’ll get her recurring nightmare as well...poor guy...

Future Subject #10: Sanura Hejazi
Reincarnation of: Sanura Hoshitsu
Age: 21

First Flash: Her flashes began several years ago. At around age 15 her nails grew into thick claws that were hard as steel. She also began having a recurring nightmare about the time when her past life died—from decapitation. <.<; Lately she’s been dreaming more of her past life, specifically about her little sister and her untimely death.
History: The Hejazi family immigrated to New York when Sanura was little. But the parents soon died and Sanura and her younger sister Tahirah were left on the streets. Sanura fell in with a powerful mob at age 15 and began pulling jobs to support them. Her boss provided everything they needed: an apartment, food, medical care, even tutoring for Tahirah. It was around this time that Tahirah began having flashes as well. Her healing powers surfaced and Sanura was able to pull more dangerous jobs, soon moving up in the ranks. A year and a half ago it all went south. The mob boss was finally collared and his bank accounts frozen. They lost everything and had to leave before being dragged down with him. Sanura had the idea to pull a job on her own to gain the attention of prospective employers, and Tahirah begged to come along as her backup in case anything happened. But they bit off more than they could chew. Sanura was thrown in prison for attempted grand larceny, and the company they almost robbed made sure Tahirah disappeared entirely. Sanura’s on probation now, running a small pawn shop in the Bronx. But she’s still convinced that Tahirah is in the clutches of that corporation, being prodded, tested...or worse... But no one will believe her.
Personality: Sanura is reckless in both business deals and street fighting, but has managed to keep that in check because of her probation. She knows if she gets thrown back in jail no one will be able to help Tahirah. She dropped out of school years ago, but has enough street smarts to make a fair living for herself. She’s slow to trust anyone and mostly looks out for herself, but is fiercely loyal if anyone actually manages to gain her admiration. Unlike her past life, she's actually had cause to cultivate her scary, almost Einstein-level intelligence. She's a master at bypassing security systems though both technological and more conventional means.
Appearance: Her skin is a natural light brown, and her eyes are an amber color. She’s only 5’7”, but is well-built with powerful lithe muscles. She's got a short torso with large breasts and the hips to match, though her shoulders are a bit narrow and bony. Several scars can be seen peeking from under her clothes, but the most prominent is on her right cheek. Sanura is partial to masculine-looking designer clothes (though nothing absurd) but had to sell most of them for money. She insists on wearing the male FLASH uniform.
Powers: Instead of nails, her fingers end in thick claws as strong as steel. Lately though they’ve been completely clipped as a condition of her probation—something she’s royally pissed about because her entire fighting style revolves around them.
Secrets: In their past lives Tahirah died at the age of 10, so the fact that she’s lived until 14 is a miracle in itself. Sanura’s past life did die, but was revived by her party’s combined efforts. However the ordeal caused one of those party members to realize just how much he loved her. Eventually she’ll remember him too.
