Welcome to Gaia! ::

The Northern Wastes A wasteland of snow, running forever to the horizons. There is nothing here but jagged rock beneath the powder, a glittering of wrought obsidian stone peeking from the drifts every now and then. No life makes its home here, no warm building stands. It is a nothingness as profound as death, a nothingness comprised solely of battering winds and stinging flakes of white. Yet beneath the snow a strange power lies. It can be felt around oneself, in the air, howling through the wind. It is an unknown power, a sleeping strength infusing the very land itself. A monster sleeps here, unmoving in a crystal prison of its own making. Forever does it slumber, and never will it wake. From beyond the dome of Heaven another came, a warrior from a shattered world. Now on Gaia he plots and schemes, world conquest is to his liking. New Thread Owner: Samkeldar Nevesnys Co-Owner: Lin Izan The castle is currently 0% rebuilt. Feel free to play in the snow.

Any disrespect will be visited upon the guilty tenfold. Leniency Rules (That is, rules that can be broken only twice before one is banned.) 1. The air stilled. No leaves rustled, no animals stirred. There was nothing to be heard at all. Then slowly, the softest of sounds, much like that of a whispering wind could be heard in the distance. A silver mist covered the ground making things unclear to see. The whispering turned to singing.

A woman with the soft voice of an angel stepped forward, her body wrapped in an emerald cloak. Brown boots that rose to her knees kept her feet warm enough though her thighs were uncovered, thanks to the short brown skirt she wore on her hips. Wrapping the cloak tighter around her shoulders, she raised a gloved hand to wipe away the strays of golden hair that had blown into her eyes.

The singing continued though her lips did not move. As she came up to the door of her destination a bird called in the distance. Green orbs, weary of the cold climate, vanished behind pale eyelids, as she pressed her palm against the door that stood in her path. Pushing lightly, the door opened with ease and she stepped forward, her steps echoing loudly in the greeting hall.
The castle doors opened a crack-- just wide enough for the diminutive Lace to slip inside. "Hoo! What a chill!" She exclaimed with a smirk, shaking the frost from her bare skin. Lace's getup was utterly mad in this weather, you'd think that the cold would have killed her. But no, there she stood at five feet, six inches in black skinny jeans and a strapless bra-- and bare feet to boot! She lifted her pilot goggles to reveal closed eyes and then quickly cracked her neck.

Her brain probed for others nearby; Lace was still unfamiliar with her surroundings, and was forced to see through the eyes of others for the timebeing. She doubted that this castle was completely empty, but then again...

weirder things have happened.
People. In the greeting hall.
Green-grey eyes opened slightly, lit from abroad by the crackling flames of a hearth set before them. Wulfgar sat still as stone in the overstuffed straight backed chair of his study, positioned directly in front of the fireplace so as to catch every spit of warmth, though if that warmth was felt no one could say.
Two wayward people, female, children to his ageless mind. Somehow they had wandered to this most indomitable place to find their castle as refuge. It almost made him smile.
Almost.
Standing slowly the blonde made his way to the door of his study, opening and closing it as the matter suited, the echo of the sound passing through the castle like a tap upon glass. His footsteps marched before him down the halls until the visitors perhaps could hear the foretelling of his approach, the sight of his figure coming soon after.
Soon Wulfgar stood before them, at the far end of the hall atop the second floor balustrade, his cold eyes gazing down impassively upon the visitors. Pale lips parted and a smooth deep voice rolled forth in greeting, ”Welcome, travelers from distant lands to Hollow Hearts Castle.”
She would glance at the other female who had entered the building shortly after herself, but upon seeing what this particular female wore, she was indeed speechless. Running a hand through her own thick golden hair, she sighed and looked to the ceiling, hoping an answer would fall from there in answer to the question of why she was here.

Footsteps caught her attention, her pointed ears twitching at the sound. She reached inside her green cloak for her dagger in case of danger and turned to greet the source.

Green hues widened in shock as she gazed at this...man, as it would seem. His voice, his poise, even the air that surrounded him shouted of higher intelligence. He was wise for someone who looked his age. The elf stepped forward and kneeled in respect.

"M'lord..."
Proper respect from the Elven lass prompted a quirk of humor upon the blonde’s lips as he descended the stairs casually, dull tumps of leather upon carpeting strolling lazily through the air. The second girl, who had as yet not spoken or made a move, remained unacknowledged as he spoke once more, ”Rise, young one, for you stand in the presence of one known to you. If in fact your pendant has not already stated such.”
She had noted this but she had not been sure of whom she spoke to until he was closer. Rising slowly, she looked up at the man and smiled.
"It is good to see you again, brother dear."
She closed a hand over her necklace. The silver ring was warm to the touch. It was what had kept her so warm on the long journey to this strange place. It had been a long time since she had last seen her older brother, but it would seem as if he had not changed a bit.
”You have tracked me thus so far? How was it you could commit such a feat? Certainly not that…ring alone.” Distaste entered his voice at the mention of that most unloved trinket. Her mention of gladness to be once more in his presence went hence unheeded.
She looked down at the silver ring and shrugged.
"you would be amazed at how far one could go on hope. I had to see you. The ring had nothing to do with it but leading me in the right direction."
She looked back at him and smiled. Yes, still the same old Wulf. Would he ever change. Running her hand back through her hair again, now becoming a habit of nerves, she steered her eyes away from him to gaze at her surroundings.
”Hope, of course.” Another tone of disrepute as the blonde turned from his younger sister, ”Well, now that you are here welcome to my home. The halls are, as yet, empty. Perhaps soon there will be people here to fill them."
"It's one thing to be lost... BUT IT'S ANOTHER WHEN IT'S SO COLD!"

Kace shouted this to no one in particular as she trudged through and around the various trees, rocks, and earth on her path. Well... It wasn't technically a path... Alright, so there was nothing there. Whether she admitted it or not, and she wasn't about to admit it either way, she was lost, plain and simple. She'd been lost for a few days now, surviving on her basic knowledge and skills with harvesting roots and nuts from the surrounding enviroment. Her stomach was on that brink of hunger, where it was sometimes growling in protest, whereas sometimes it was silent. Food was not a major problem for the young woman, as she wasn't used to eating full meals each day. It just wasn't something that happened.

A strong gust of wind blew just then, raking it's icy fingers through her hair and bringing out more goosebumps than Kace'd thought possible on her pale skin. Her tiny frame was covered with an over-sized, button up, shirt, sleeves reaching over her hands and covering them. She had been lucky enough to procure a pair of pants from a man who had no need for them and they had fit her surprisingly well. Nonetheless, she was freezing. Shivering, teeth chattering like maracas, Kace continued onward, hoping to find a cave or even a hole in the ground where she could sleep for the night, since a tree was out of the question.

"With this wind... I'd fall right out of the tree..." She murmured to herself as she brought her gaze back down the ground. It was getting darker and she could hardly see her feet. This was bad. Kace wasn't the most graceful person even when she COULD see... What on earth was she supposed to do when the darkness blinded her?
