Major edit/extention to this petition!
Im also now expanding on this, due to the, now not so recent, changes on the inventory system. I feel it is extreamly annoying, and frankly, utterly pointless
to make the items you equip apear at the bottom of your inventory. This has totaly messed up my items, as i expect it had done for many other all other OCD's out there. I'm begging you all to sign this, so we can get the inventory system working CORRECTLY!!!
Original idea
Are you as sick of having all your game items messed up as i am, eg. having ink in the middle of your fish, and trash next to your tokens? Want to be able to tidy it up, and have flowers with flowers and fish with fish? Then sign my petition and hopfully we can make it happen!!
There are two ways to organize them that i know of, either in a trade with a mule or a friend, or in the market place; But what a pain is that, i you happen to get a rare bug or a new fish you have to do it all over again!!! gonk
Also as an after thought, if you could organize them then we will be able to have them in our homes too, so we could display rare fish and bugs we have caught... which i unfortunately dont have any of cry
update: Ok so the game items are now viewable whilst organizing your inventory... but you still cant do anything to them gonk what in hell is going on? i really hope this is all going to happen soon, because it would be the next logical step 3nodding

Example

Some sort of autosort would be good but i think it would be nice to organise it the way you want it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I went through the tedious task of creating a trade with my mule and organizing my items that way. Guess what... IT DOESN'T WORK! I tried it where I completed a trade with my mule and the items went back to their original layout and I tried cancelling out of the trade.

We seriously need more order in our inventory. Maybe options like the "Arrange by" in Windows would be good? By date, by name and by type?

I absolutely agree, because I have been wanting this feature since I first found Gaia and joined. As soon as I started wandering around Towns and gathering stuff, I have had a jumble. Thank you, pyrosparkes, for starting this petition.

I have found a workaround, but it is a pain.
Pardon me if someone has already mentioned this.
If you go to the marketplace and put all of one item up for sale (max the quantity - sell all of the copies of the one item that you own), it is removed from your inventory. If you cancel the sale, or the time expires without someone buying it, then it is returned to your inventory at the bottom (as the last item). By choosing the order that you want your items in, and canceling the sales in that order, you can force the things to line up. The only problem with that is, if you sell or use all of a particular item, and you want to put it back where it belongs after you get another, then you have to go through the process again with every item that comes after that in the lineup.
Ultimately, this forces you to tediously organize your items (4 at a time), and after that, forever, make absolutely sure that you always have at least one of each left whenever you do anything (like turning bugs into ink). Of course, this includes event items as well. I have clovers and eggs from holiday events, and feathers and soccer balls from quests, that also are considered "Game" items, and can't be organized...
Finally, this method also essentially spams the marketplace logs for your store, and screws with its statistics, further causing this method to be undesirable, much less the fact that you have to remember to set the price at something ridiculous whenever you list an item, to remove it from inventory, to ensure that your items, once put on the marketplace, aren't bought before the sales can be canceled or they expire, so they can be put in your inventory in order. (Been there, done that, paid outrageous money in the marketplace for replacements before continuing - of course any sum is outrageous for items that are free, meaning that you are pretty much just wasting money no matter what you pay.)
Anyways, my point is that I'd rather just organize them through the item organizer. cheese_whine wahmbulance
