Basic Rules
  • Follow All Gaia Rules
    For real, yo. Don't mess around or flame or anything mean like that.
  • No Stealing
    All of the artwork here belongs to its respective owner. The original artwork is by Caoilte, banners and certs are by OSFM, and the brushes and guardian/item icons used with permission from their respective websites. Notice that none of these people are YOU (I don't think anyway) so please don't steal artwork or anything.
  • No Fighting or Arguing
    This includes fighting with each other about random things, fighting with OSFM or any other staff about whatever, or accusing people of anything. If you have a problem, please PM the mule with it first and we can probably work it out very easily.
  • No Begging, Whining, or Insinuating
    You won't get a free one, I assure you. However, if you really want to annoy me say something like, "Oh wow, these pets sure are awesome. I WISH I HAD ONE *GIMME GIMME*" Like, seriously folks, insinuating that you want something to happen won't make it happen.
  • Do NOT PM OSFM
    If I, OSFM, tell you to PM me directly you may do so. Otherwise I don't want PMs. Especially if you have bad grammar. I delete those immediately.
  • Prices Are Final
    Prices will most likely stay consistent but if they do change, especially at the beginning of the shop's opening, you'll just have to deal. I apologize but I'd like everyone to be happy who's working on all this too.
  • You Must Stay Active
    This is NOT an RP required shop. However, if you decide you want to become a guardian to a hero you must remain active. Come in every now and then otherwise your Hero will be reclaimed and given to someone else. Staying active means chatting with people in the thread ocassionally.
  • Bump Nicely
    Bumps are very appreciated any time but please make them nice. This means no hideous bump graphics with sparkly purple and pink text nor the word bump scrawled in bold size 50 font written 20 million times. Please bump kindly. :3

  • Oooh gimme gimme! How do I get one!?
    Check the Availability post to find out!
  • Are they RP Mandatory?
    No, but it is required that you stay active. To read more about this, see the Hero Information post.
  • How many can I have?
    You can own one through a flatsale and can own up to two by winning a Hero another way (Auction/Raffle/etc).
  • If I have two Heroes, can they fight eachother?
    No they cannot. Otherwise you'd be able to fight too much and I'd haveta update lots and the Heroes would grow to fast. n_n;;
  • I don't want to be a Hero, I wanna be a villain!! twisted
    Too bad, so sad. Maybe another shop will be made up for that later.
  • Can they fall in love?
    Well yes. With each other. Anybody can love anyone (boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl) at any stage. However make sure you've read the above rules...

Ohsee pulls from the shelf a large journal. "So you want to know the story of how these heroes came about?" he questions. You nod and he begins...


The Story
Accidental Heroes is the story of ordinary people who are accidentally bestowed with legendary powers. A planet many light years away was destroyed by an unknown and unseen evil force. This planet however was one which, at it's core, harnessed a large crystal called by the planet's inhabitants the Di'nahn Vlin. When this core was destroyed, shards of it escaped to various corners of the universe. Some of these shards headed towards Earth where one way or another they absorbed themselves into ordinary humans.

Now, some of the inhabitants of the Di'nahn Vlin, having an abundance of powers themselves, shielded themselves and traveled through space, in search of those who destroyed the planet. Some of these guardians ended up on planet Earth, and seeing the distress the humans who had absorbed the Di'nahn Vlin decided to become guardians to these future heroes and help them develop and control their powers.

Avalon's Journal
Both suns were blotted out. Avalon knew something was wrong.

The Di’nahn Vlin planet was beautiful and small. The two suns that revolved around it together smiled upon the earth and soil that covered it. The land upon which all its inhabitants lived was called the Linn’g. The majority of the Linn’g was flat grassland. The inhabitants lived upon this land and occasionally ventured to the forests which grew on the outskirts of the island. The rest of the planet was water, clear and beautiful.

Avalon looked up to the sky as soon as he noticed darkness covering the ground. His brows furrowed together. What was happening? A smoldering black mass had formed in front of the twin suns. People everywhere began looking up to see what was the disturbance. Oscar had been lying next Avalon on the grass when the darkness had come about.

“What do you think it is!?” Oscar asked, alarmed. Avalon said nothing but began to get up from the ground. Suddenly a blaring siren went out. Avalon knew it was coming from the city center. A voice rang out loudly through the city hall speakers.

“THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! I REPEAT, WE ARE—“

A purple and black beam shot out from the mass that was covering the suns and exploded right at the city center. Complete silence covered the land. And then chaos.

“We have to leave Avalon!” Oscar screamed. He jumped up and grabbed Avalon’s hand. Together they flew upwards to survey the scene. Beam after beam surged into the planet, causing a myriad of explosions. “If the planet explodes its core will separate and the pieces of Di’nahn will disperse through the galaxy.” Oscar’s special ability was Premonition. He was the only person who had the power and was randomly overcome with visions occasionally. Avalon knew to trust them.

Avalon grasped Oscar’s hand and thought. Where could they go? Avalon wasn’t allowed anymore time to think. The mass swirled and an enormous ray of energy was sent flying towards the planet. The explosion sent the inhabitants flying, Avalon and Oscar included.

They projectiled outwards, flying to an unknown destination. By becoming transparent the lack of air didn’t affect them but they were both completely disoriented. Avalon blinked his eyes open and saw a blue and green planet. Earth.

Avalon understood what was going to happen even without Oscar’s preminition. The shards would hit the planet and would hit people. They would develop powers like the Di’nahn. Chaos would run amok.

But there wasn’t time for that. Avalon needed to find who had done this to their planet. He had to protect Earth. He had to figure this all out. As he fell into Earth’s gravitational field, he though about all the accidental heroes that would come about because of this. He knew he would only be one of the many.

"Ah, so you want to know more about the Heroes?" Avalon asks. He pulls out a pamphlet and hands it to you.


Development
Heroes can grow in two different ways: through time or through battling. Heroes do not change because of age but they change through experience. Therefore, more experienced Heroes will have a different appearance as opposed to simply older ones. Battle Experience can be awarded by winning battles and is explained more below. Time Experience is very simple to understand.

To gain Time Experience you simply have to be active. This means coming in to the shop ocassionally and talking with people in the shop or bumping nicely or anything like that. Every once in awhile Avalon will say EXPERIENCED GAINED in big, red, bold letters. The last ten people who posted and who have a Hero will gain 3 EXP. This will happen fairly often and if you post frequently it shouldn't take long before your Hero is growing. Please note that you can only gain experience once each time EXPERIENCED GAINED is written. Therefore if you've posted three times in the last ten posts, you gain 3 EXP still.

Experience can be exchanged in the guild.

Stages

Stage 1
In the first stage, your Hero has just been imbued with the magical power. They most likely don't know much about their power and are a bit hesitant about using it. However, depending on the personality, some heroes may be very excited about their powers and may use them excessively.

Stage 2
Now your Hero has begun to understand and control their powers. They can not use them expertly and sometimes their powers will fail them or they won't be able to control it. However they are now able to fight much better and have a greater command of battling in general.
To get to this stage, your Hero must be at level 10.

Stage 3
In this final (?) stage, your Hero has become a master of their power. They're not invincible but they definitely know what they're doing. They can still get stronger but their appearance won't change too much. At least I don't think...
To get to this stage, your Hero must be at level 20.

Stage 4 image coming soon.
...? Is this possible? At this stage your Hero would be somewhat of a demi-god, posessing an enormous amount of power... I wonder how this is acheivable...
How to get to this stage is unkown.

Guardian Information
Guardians are YOU. They play a very critical role in the development of Heroes as they're their guide. They know the ins and outs of magic and special powers and are simply a companion to the Hero.
Guardians look just like your avatar (for the sake of keeping things simple) but are much smaller in appearance. They are only about a foot tall but can still pack quite a punch. Guardians have the ability to fly, become invisible, float through walls, and invoke one special ability in which they are an expert. Heroes also know nothing about the Di'nahn Vlin or anything of what is happening outside of their own world. Therefore you must be their informant and keep them up to date with special events and history!

Guardian Attack
Each Guardian has one special ability which they can use to aid their Heroes in battle.

When you become a Guardian to a Hero, you will be able to choose one of these abilities. All powers are Limited meaning that ocassionally they will change and will become new powers. Don't worry though! If you see a power you like but don't have a Guardian the powers will rotate eventually. Therefore you'll have a chance to get the ability you want. Also, when you become a Guardian the Guardian Attacks will be explained in further detail as to how to use them specifically during battle.

Guardian Attacks can be changed in the Guild.

Availability Information
  • All Flatsale Heroes, currently, cost 15k.
  • All Special Flatsale Heroes, currently, cost 20k.

*Before planning to purchase a Hero please remember that these pets require participation in the thread for them to grow and for you to keep them. You do not have to RP exactly but you must stick around.

Battle Info
Battling is an important function of the Accidental Heroes shop. The majority of the Battle Information can be found in the guild, therefore you should look there to learn more about it.

Battling is a turn-based RPG like system. It's lots of fun and incorporates many different aspects into it which are very regulated. What's best is that you DON'T have to be an awesome RPer to battle--anyone who has a Hero can do it!

Item Shop
Items are not for appearance at Accidental Heroes, they're used for battles. Items can give your Hero a lucky edge in the heat of battle and
disrupt your enemies attacks. All items can be bought using experience points or gold. Also, some rare items are labeled as Limited and will change every so often. But don't worry, they'll come back around soon
enough.

The Guild


Roleplay Info
Roleplay in Accidental Heroes is not mandatory but is heavily encouraged--it's a fun way to spend some time making new friends! Frequent roleplayers may find themselves receiving special thank you items or prizes. All roleplaying should take place in the guild. Please make sure to read the rules in the Guild about roleplaying and general guild rules and regulations.

Also, there are many terms which may be foreign to most not familiar with the Di'nahn Vlin and other outsiders. Here is a quick list of terms which will be helpful to you when roleplaying

  • Di'nahn Vlin
    The term Di'nahn Vlin can refer to many things. It's the name of the planet the guardians come from as well as the name for the core which contains an abundance of magical power. It can also refer to the shards which struck the Heroes, making them become what they are today. It is often shortened to Di'nahn.
  • Guardians
    Guardians are the inhabitants of the planet Di'nahn Vlin. They look like your Gaia avatar but are much smaller than normal people--the stand on average about a foot tall! More information can be found on this in the Guardian Information section.
  • Avalon Hymn
    Avalon Hymn (the avvie) is the keeper of the "shop." He was the first to arrive on Earth and managed to "make" some money in order to rent out this tiny shop. When he was filling out papers, he had to provide a name for the shop and, having no idea what to do, he simply put down his initials and resolved to figure it out later. Thus how Accidental Heroes came about. More on him in the Roleplay Information section.
  • Unseen Evil
    Avalon uses this term to describe the beings who destroyed his planet. The Di'nahn Vlin have a few enemies but the attack was completely unexpected. Who could have done such a thing to this planet?


Also, many clues have and will continue to pop up as chracters roleplay more and battle more. Some interesting things have already happened in the shop as cataloged below.

  • On page Page 170 a beast appeared frightening the people around the shop and those in it!
  • The heroes defeated one of the stronger Paoyjs by working together.

The Shop
The shop is fairly small but includes a front room with seating areas as well as a back room for training Heroes. The large table is a place for Heroes to sit and eat if they've brought food or simply discuss what's been going on. The couches are another comfortable place for Heroes to sit and relax. Avalon's desk is where he is most of the time and where he keeps all of his special Guardian tools. Please note that this layout is the shop--meaning THIS thread! Therefore, when you enter the shop and post you are posting in this shop layout. Keep that in mind for any informal RP happening here.

Also, please remember that while most Guardians are only about a foot or two tall, Avalon is sized as a normal sized human because his special ability is the power to grow in size. Avalon will be roleplayed by OSFM but sometimes it may be confusing as to whether or not the shop avvie is Avalon or OSFM updating. Therefore, Avalon will type only in purple.

Special Events

Special Events will happen ocassionally and they will affect the Heroes, the shop world, and your pocket! Special Events may include the battling of certain Evils, completing missing sections of the Accidental Heroes stories, and more! Some events will be for owners only while others will be for anyone and everyone. Prizes will include Donation Letters, Power-Ups and Special Items to Heroes, as well as pure gold. Some Special Events may even bring about a new Hero or two.
