Had the idea for this shop for weeks now, hopefully I'll eventually be able to open and keep this one alive, not sure how long that'll take. >.<;
In short, don't expect this shop to be open anytime soon, check back 2008... no seriously 2008.
This will be a petshop based on rats (seen one too many feline/canine shops) the rodents needs some love <3
They're tails will be long and whiplike with the end having a wierd tailtip. Like what the rat villain from RedWall had if his metal accessory were part of him ^.^ Well other than their tails and forelimbs, they don't look that rat-like D:
And another key feature will be part of their namesake. Hugs to whoever figures that out.
Grinns will be the main pet, but there will be other types too, which won't be rat-based.

Welcome, welcome to the Towne of Grinn. The grey hills sing with melancholy and the towne fountains mumble whispery sighs. Quite different be the residents of Grinn. Each one held some variation of smile, the young and old, be it a grin, smile, or smirk.
Yet, you can sense either anger or sadness in their eyes. Their smiles so gleeful, now seem so fake.

2. Tree of Enlightenment (news & rules)

<Banner of the Towne Tree>

In the background of this bipolar towne stood a great tree. The branches spread far, its trunks thick and fat. It was practically a forest in itself. As you approached, many eyes of yellow stared at you from within the darkness of the tree's shadow. But don't be alarmed, they belong to the Kalluroo, very similar to what you know in your world as the owl. Vines sprang towards the ground, but instead of fruit, some bared pieces of brown or gold parchment. You gather the papers to make sense of them, the brown ones seemed to declare rules, while the gold ones brought news, for example the one you just picked claims that yet another Grinn child has gone missing, making the new total 164 this month @_@;

2. Don't steal art, claim another's pet as your own etc. Simply just don't steal.
3. No Whining / Advertising / Begging / Spamming etc. It's annoying, don't do it.
4. Once your Grinn reaches it's last stage, you must save it to your own server. Will probably be days or weeks till I take them down, so if you don't remember to save it, there will be a 500g retrieval fee D:
5. I repeat, don't whine. If you badger me about how slow your pet is growing, it may just grow even slower. Heheh just kidding, just be patient, I have a life too ya know.
6. Grinns, familiars, items, ANYTHING you buy from this shop can never be refunded or resold in any way. It's happened before and without my knowledge, I'm still a bit peeved about it >.<;;;

3. Skull Hangar (repeat of rules & the undead lists)

Bones rattled in the wind. Wondering where the noise came from, you traverse around the tree to the other side. As you nimbly evade more brown parchment you finally spot a web of black, ominous vines. To be precise, it was more like a hammock, its load a mess of skulls of who knows what. Below it stood a lone tombstone of wood. Upon closer inspection, carved into it were the words, “As good as dead,” followed by a list of names written in blood that’s been faded by time.

Rules of the Flatsale
1. All flatsales will actually be flaffles.
2. Time to enter will vary. Proxies allowed.
2. When I say it's open, to enter post Nico! in bold green
3. I'll use random# to pick winners
4. Winners cannot choose which pet they want til after I post a list of the winners in order.
- First winner gets first pick, second gets second pick and so forth.
5. Only one pet per winner. If I choose the same person twice, I'm just gonna redraw.
6. A winner must claim and use the form provided in halfhour of me having posted the winners list. ((so pay attention to the thread))

Really really can't remember how my story went, so I'll just talk about my kinfolk, the Grinns <3


Well well, enough about us Grinns, lets go over some other species shall we?

Spectral Lizards:
The spectral lizards evolved to blend in with their surroundings. Their scales shift in the light to reflect everything til they seem nigh invisible. They are patient predators and with their camouflage, will slowly tread to their favorite prey, the snow wisp. The wisps may not be able to see the lizards, but they may hear the clumsy crunch of snow and dart away to safety. Food such as wisps amongst other things are very rare in the Sky plane. They are not only rare, but very fast. Because of this, spectral lizards are very aggressive because of the high competition for food.
NOTE: Because it's boring to have invisible pets, every SL owner will get special goggles to see their pet <3 ((not really, just gives me an excuse to use color XD))

6. Encyclopedia de Grinn (tetramap & more info on residents)

The Grinns lie in the Void Plane, but this isn't the only place...
There are 3 other planes of existence. The Sky plane, the Terra plane, and the Loch plane. Void lies between the Sky and Terra plane.
The other planes are more like parallel dimensions rather than separate worlds. They have slightly different maps and characters. Like the shopkeeper of the Void plane is Teris. For the land of the purple sands, the Terra plane, the shopkeeper is Aeris. For the Loch plane, Faeris. And Sky plane, Seris.

The Four Planes of Existence:

The Sky Plane
The Sky plane is a very cold place. Most would see it as nothing but an artic wasteland. It is always day there.

The Void Plane
The Void plane is very...grey. It feels like it's always night, and very cold and windy. Even when you're sure it's daytime, the sky is blanketed with grey purple clouds.

The Terra Plane
The land of the purple sands. It is scorching hot here. The purple land shifts as if alive. Waterfalls and rivers of sand dot the landscape and it is a blessing if one were to find any shade.

The Loch Plane
World of the pink sea. 90% of the landscape lies underwater that's the color of pink, and bubbly and placid as champagne. What lies above sea level are patches of small island palms and the cut tops of the wood blossom acts as natural pathways to the other sparse terra.

Nicodareus:
He's one of the elder Grinns and he's the very first Grinn to take my top secret syrum.
The picture is of him when the syrum was just taken, look at him smile. A perfect specimen, if only for the first 5 minutes. The toxin was still unstable so the result came out too strong that he laughed uncontrollably till his skull split. Half his upper skull could not be salvaged. He now wears a tanned spectral dragonhide to hide the damage.
I'd say his brains got a bit jumbled as well, but eh, he's on my side and wishes to spread the good cheer to the rest of the Towne, so my friend's mental state is no large matter. 3nodding

Hello, I am Proffessor Profs. ^-^
As you already know, I have brought my pride and joy, the "grin potion", to the Void Plane. My experiments were banned on Earth, they deemed it "inhumane" or some such nonsense. I just wanted to make people happy, is that so wrong? :[
Behind the character you ask? Of course I'm not that psychotic, I prefer to make people miserable. >3
Jk jk. I'm harmless, and unneccesarily chatty. ;^;

Teris and Trix:
The item shopkeeper has a big heart, but she's a bit of a worrywart. Trix on the otherhand is true to his breed, he's very spoilt and loves to play tricks on people.





Deme:
A child spectral lizard that dwells in the forests of Grinn. Originally from the Sky plane, it is unknown how he came to the Void. He deals in the pet trade and sees itself as Pr. Profs eternal rival of all things orange (don't know why) ._.;

7. Teris Shack (items galore and random # contest)

You plod along a stone bridge, the sides lined with statues vomiting streams of glistening water. The bridge lead to a distant island unofficially called Teris, only because it's whats the mainlanders know it best for. Finally across, you head toward a small shack atop a hill, one side almost slipping over a cliff's edge.

"Ooh~ Another juna fruit's gone missing!" Sighed a young girl carrying a long list with various scribbles upon it. "You wouldn't have anything to do with that, Boki?

The small Trix's tiny face furrowed, "Trrrrll!" *kicks*
"Ow! Okay okay, so it wasn't you."
She finally notices you standing in the doorway.
"Oh sorry, come in come in. My name's Teris, welcome to my little shop." She smiled. "Don't mind me, I'm just doing inventory, but it seems more and more things keep disappearing!"
The shopkeeper pouts as she begins to pace back and forth about the store. You leave her to her worries and browse the near empty shelves.

As you leave, Teris gives you a slight bow, "Thank you for coming by, Please come again!"
Just as you were about to close the door, you spot a hand, or should I say paw, grab something through one of the many cracks of the shop walls. Instead of telling the shopkeep, you peek around outside. To your surprise, the space beyond the cliff held hundreds upon hundreds of moving stones and beyond them lay another hill where a pack of Grinns waited. One of the stones was placed just close enough to reach the store.
"So that's how they did it!" You exclaim as you see another Grinn snatch a spike collar.
But not all the Grinns made it safely. It seemed the stones did not follow any particular pattern as they floated back and forth through the empty sky. One Grinn misjudged the timing and fell in the ocean, its distant cries could be heard along with a chorus of laughter from the other would-be thieves. Dare to play their little game?

How many offspring can you afford?


- PM form to NicodeGrin only if a slot is open.
- To breed, you must have 2-3 RP logs developing their relationship, no "Hi, I love you, lets make babies nowz?"
-- Must have new RP logs each time you decide to breed
- The cost of breeding is 6k per offspring.
- They must be Male/Female mates and of the same species. Male/Male or Female/Female mates cannot breed.
However, with the success of a recent experiment, it is possible to breed with the same gender, species must still be the same though. The cost of breeding is doubled to 12k per child and the amount of offspring they can possibly beget will be 3-5
- The owners choose how they'll split the cost (gold only please), sending one trade to NicoDeGrinn with trade title "ToG Breeding Fee"
- I will do Random # 2-4, 3-5 if same gender
- If say, I rolled a 4, and you find that you can't afford to pay for that many. Tell me so, and I'll only give you as many as you can afford. ^^
The ones that could not be afforded will still be made, but are now property of the shop >:3
They will be sold off (most likely auctioned) and all of the profit will go to the shop.
Oh and the owners will get to choose which of the offspring will go to the shop. So no one can complain that "the shop got the good ones" D:<
- It may take 1-3 weeks for the offspring to be born. The gender of each offspring will be done by flipping a coin >.>;
-Once bred, they will not be able to breed again til their current children are fully grown + 2 months.
- Also all pets can only breed a max of 2 times. Child birth is tough the first time, nevermind the second. >.< Though it's 3 times if their Grinns (they are rat-based).

Offspring can be kept, given away, or given back to the shop to be auctioned. I must be notified if one is being given away (so I can change the owner).
If you choose to sell an offspring, you must notify me first, I will be the only one who can make the auction thread.
25% made from the auction will be given back to the shop. The rest of the profit will of course go back to the owners
Owners get to choose the starting bid, increment, autobuy (if any), and ending date (max 1 week).
I'll setup the thread and PM both of you the link to the thread, but just so ya know, I'll try my best, but I may have trouble bumping the auction for you, so you must help bump the auction yourselves. ^^;

Any offspring in auction will be put into stasis. Once they get to their new owner, they will begin to grow again.

Beams of light probe the Void landscape followed by a stream of humans with blunt looking clubs and the sound of jingling cuffs...
"Oh my oh my, the authorities eh?" tutted Nico.
"Well taa taa for now," the proffessor then gives you a nasty smile, "I'd suggest you don't tell them where we went, you're an accomplice too ya know." <3
With that last remark they scuttle away. The last you see is Nico's long tail slithering down a hidden tunnel in the floor.

'Accomplice?!' The pounding of footsteps drew near, you think it best to follow them...
... The other two escapees then notice you.
"Glad to have you aboard! We've got plenty of "friends" who will hide us til the heat dies down and we can continue business. Here's my card!" ^-^

14. Misc Stoof (stuff you really don't care about, but I'm posting it anyway)

Shops that may/may never be in the works:

1. The ol' Hatshop: abandoned hat shop where the pets end up wearing the hat.
ex: top hat>baby bunny near hat> anthro bunny wearing hat
bowler/crow cowboy hat/bull aussie hat/croc etc etc
2. Chrysalis: Dragon pets that start with pendant chrysalis-ses ._.;
For RP, I used to have this character who held an ice dragon in her pendant, thought I'd expand on that + ice chrysalis just sounds cool~ <3
Probably been done before by now though D:
3. From the Clay: Pets molded from clay. Have some of the dragon-type done, but they're in pixel form. Or maybe I will keep them as pixel pets?
4. Poltercats: Abandoned house brimming with feral cats. Ghosts sometimes take possession of said cats.
5. Chrystal Star: Used to be my favorite concept, but I completely forgot about it til now. It was inspired by the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and the whole world in a snowflake thing. ^^ This was one of my earliest concepts so the idea is a bit blurry now... A shimmering star, not even half the size of your fist, crashes to earth into the branches of a small sapling and shatters in hundreds of peices. Within this star lived organisms called (can't remember). The chrystal peices lay scattered, with only the young tree as their companion. Time passed on. The tree, now a great oak, shadowed over it's pristine neighbors. In that time, the (blank) evolved into different species, a different world within each shard. Fatefully, one day a human came by, attracted by the twinkling in the shade. Fascinated by the chrystals, he takes a few shards home and places them in a glass jar. Overnight, the shards miraculously melded into one. And the (input cool name here) rejoined in, harmony? The (err) did not recognize their brothers and angry that their whole world has transformed to this new and strange place, blamed one another and went to war. The new world, dubbed Pariah, is now in chaos.
This idea followed the whole elemental type theme. Sadly I can't even remember how the pets were supposed to look like, or even what I named them D:
6. Do You Hear the Whistle?: Animals lured by animal shaped whistles. Right now I only have sketches of one animal, looks like a bobcat. I'm thinking of adding maybe a wolf and other animals. ^^
7. I want to make a shop based on Jigoku Shoujo. I have a slight idea, but it's more of a uniquely drawn human RP type of shop. Those types of shops are cool, but I notice it's way harder to keep track of, too many unique drawings and such. So I'm pretty much in awe of the people who run those shops and finish drawing each human set in a timely manner. Probably won't make it either since I'm lousy at humans and I'm ever so lazy >.>;
8. Carousel animals: My grandparents always had one of those black fuzzy, color yourself pictures of a girl luring a carousel horse away with a carrot, loved that picture. <3

I had some more, but can't remember... That's why I'm writing any shop ideas I have before I forget them again. ^^;
Actually the hat or poltercat idea was going to be made first but I lost interest >.>; Hopefully that won't happen again with this shop, but it's getting there >.<

I already have all of the sea dragon sketches done at least, but like this shop, it probably won't be open for a very long time, if ever...

Eh... scratch that. Instead of these two, I want to finish up my Uni Bonsai shop before I come back here.<3;
