With the recent avatar updates, we have been glad to find the option of mouth changes. Sadly, other selections were deleted, and one of them was the purple eye choice. Many of us planned our wardrobes around the purple eye feature. Others of us see it as one of the ways to break out of the ordinary. The purple eyes and other eye colors were just as much of us as, say, our hair or skin color. At any rate, we value these missing options.
People have also been talking about color contacts (see VO's journal). They will cost money. So why should we have to buy back an option that was ours for free in the first place? Unless, of course, the first pair is free. That would be much appreciated, I'm sure. I have no problem with that. But, what if it's not? In the meantime, until I hear a definite announcement about the issue, I will continue to keep this petition up.
So, please, bring back the purple eyes.

Yes, but they said that back in July, and I personally don't think they should have changed the eye colors so soon if they weren't planning to release the contacts until months later. It's not fair to take away something from someone, then make them wait for an indefinite amount of time to get it back.
I'm sure once the contacts come out, this petition will die down. Of course, it would be nice if those that lost the purple eyes got a free pair of purple contacts (as mentioned on the front page). But at this point, I'd just be happy to actually see the contacts system come out.
