<><> Youth Quest : Invitation! <><>
Upon getting home from the Fa'e HQ, Sire tore open the letter that his father had given him. He'd fallen quite asleep before he'd had a chance to actually open it and read it. What if it were something he had done wrong? It was addressed to him, in "sloppy", flowing script. Script that wasn't at all the close and small writing of his Guardian. What was going on? Was he in some sort of trouble? Once he finally got the letter open, he settled down to read. He lay on his back on his bed, and held the letter before his eyes to scan over it's contents.

Dear Sire,
I've talked to both Dragons about this, and they both agree that you should come back to Juridia next week. Erik has expressed much desire in meeting you face to face, and I myself would love a chance to see you again, and see how much you've changed. Some of our sisters are visiting as well, so you'll have a chance to meet them as well. Maverick and Xander will also be stopping by, as well as some other family members. We'd love to have your company during the festivities. Erik says that he'll be in and out. I don't know what he means by this, but Erik.. is cryptic. Something that all of us have learned to live with. You're welcome to bring any of your friends that you'd like. We'll keep in correspondence throughout this week, so you'll know what's going on. I've already run everything past your father, so don't worry. Oh - and bring your brother. We'd all love to say hi. Love you very much.
Your Uncle,
Zael Arrikanez

Sire put his feet up on the small table in front of the couch, and closed his eyes, thinking. A trip back to Juridia. That would be awesome beyond words. He was starting to miss the place, and his uncles. And sisters? He had more aunts than Embyr and Correu? Awesome. He didn't know who Maverick and Xander were, but he supposed he'd find out. Packing again, then. And Dragon already knew, so he didn't have to run it by him. But he did have to go find Yani, and ask if he wanted to come. It might be good for his brother to get out of the house for a bit. He went up to his room to start packing the thing he'd need, while thinking over who he was going to invite - if anyone. He'd go get Yani later, if the kid was still home later in the evening.
He started to pack his bag, as he'd found that he only needed one with his clothes when he went there. They provided everything else. He stuck his stethoscope into the bag as well - just in case. In the bag also went a few books he wanted to show uncle Erik, a couple of his notebooks full of songs and ideas. Leaving home again - it seemed to always happen one way or the other. Packing his bag. It was familiar. Not entirely pleasent. But at least this time, he wasn't going alone. He paused as he picked up an old picture out of a box under his bed, where he'd been looking for his knife from Aaron. It was a picture of himself as a child.

He remembered a bunch of things from the picture - a bunch of things that he had tried his hardest to forget. He could look back and laugh at it all now. Laugh, as opposed to obsessively worry about things that had happened in the past. The past is passed. He shook his head, and tucked the picture in his bookbag, along with everything else. Something told him that this trip was going to be more important than he was treating it. Life was going by so fast, and he'd missed so much of it looking back on what had already passed. Now he was looking forward, but there was still time to reflect. The good, the bad, the sad, and the happy. He wanted to keep them all. All those memories. Every day was a new chance to make new memories. Memories to be filed away with the ones from his childhood. And he was determined to make that file of "Happy" larger than the "Sad" file in his mind. Right now, there was time. He had all the time in the world. And hey, he was going on vacation! And he was going to get to meet the rest of his [by dad's estimation] very large family. It was a holiday! No more dreary, dull, boring days. And, not that he didn't love it here on Gaia, he just felt more at home in Juridia. More... welcome.
He whistled slightly, as he started to pack with more fervor, and clicked on his stereo, which was playing "Holiday" by Jimmy Buffett. Dragon and he both loved the man's singing. He stopped packing, and started dancing, swinging his backpack here and there, just having a blast. Soon enough, Dragon came up, and paused in the doorway, and expression of 'what the hell is my son doing?' on his face. Then the music caught him, and he too started to dance. Dragon dancing was a sight Sire had NEVER seen. And amidst his own movement, he kept an eye on Dragon. His dad was actually a pretty good dancer. Sire threw the bag on the bed, and started dancing with his father. This was FUN. He wasn't even paying attention to how late it was. When that song, "Sk8ter Boi" and "I Get Around" had finished playing, and they finished dancing, Dragon switched off the stereo, laughing and panting for breath.
"Bedtime, kiddo. You've got a big day tommorow. Have you decided who you're going to ask to go with you?"
Sire nodded.
"Yeah. Yani, for one. He'll love it there. And Anen. He can bring his parents if he wants to. I'm going to talk to Dev, too. See if he wants to come."
Dragon caught his breath, and nodded, grinning.
"Alright. Now, get to bed. No computer tonight. We lost cable connection when some idiots hit the cable-line a ways down the road. It'll be tommorow night before it's fixed."
Sire nodded, yawed, and literally jumped onto his bed, dislodging the bag so that it fell off the bed. He scrambled under the covers, as Dragon walked over to kiss his forehead.
"Sleep well, son."
Sire mumbled something, and Dragon switched off the light.
Sire, however, didn't sleep. He got up immediately, and went about packing the rest of the stuff he wanted to take, so he didn't leave anything. He grabbed his Zony diskplayer, and stuck one of his own remixes into it, jamming the headphones, and dancing again as he packed. He jumped up on the bed, and pretended it was a stage, mouthing the words to the song currently playing, and jumping off the bed at the end of the song. He decided, since he was wide awake, he might as well finish unpacking the rest of the stuff under his bed, and clean his room. Dragon would be impressed when he came back upstairs in the morning. He stuck his packed bookbag in the corner, and hauled out the two boxes of stuff under his bed, starting to take it all out, and examine it, before deciding where it would go.

That was from the Christmas party a long, long time ago, it seemed. He remembered it, and tossed it onto his bed, where it should have gone in the first place.
Next came the Suncatcher from his brother - back when he wasn't his brother.

So that went immediately into the window, hung on a nail on the window casing that had been used for something else.
The next thing was fairly odd... Handcuffs? Where had those come from?
[handcuffs]
He shoved those in his closet without a moment of hesitation. He was going to have to have a talk with his father about those.
The next thing was a pretty big suprise as well. He thought his father had gotten rid of it.

The gift from Moorgahaine. That went back in its box - which he found a little further down in the pile - and into a special spot on his dresser.
That was all that was in that box, and he wasn't looking forward to opening the next one - so he shoved that back under his bed, and started cleaning up, using a washcloth from his bathroom to clean the windows and mirror as well as he could. "Wooly Bully" came on, and he started jumping around and dancing again. He would be quite embarrassed if Yani decided to show up just now. Luckily, he didn't, and Sire went about the room, cleaning and polishing and dusting. He felt pretty good about it too. And plus, he was burning energy he had to spare. Next, he opened his drawers all onto his bed, and started folding the clothes and putting them back in the right places. Once that was done, he started to rearrange everything on the shelves attached to his bed.
By the time that was done, he was starting to feel a little sleepy. He glanced at the clock, its red neon numbers seeming to burn into his retinas. 2:30 AM. Heh. He really did need to get some sleep if he was going to be running around all day tommorow. He sighed a bit, and looked out the window for a moment. The moon was shining brightly, and was full, shedding light on the entire place. He yawned, and flopped back on his bed, thinking about tommorow. He fell asleep making plans how to ask Yani and Anen to come without it sounding like a date.
