Dear Demetri;

I'm sorry to have to send this to you, but I find myself incapable of taking care of my own affairs. Therefore, it is my request that you take over my home and aid all who come there, especially those who call themselves the Sweetly.

They are humanoid creatures born of candy, who commited heinous crimes in their former lives. You yourself have recieved one with this letter. Their guardians, especially, may need aid from you or Zelos and Legendia, they who were the first Sweetly. It is hard to raise a child, especially one with such a weighty burden as repenting for their sins.

I wish you, the guardians, and indeed all who encounter them, luck in that endeavour.

General Rules

1. Do not break the Gaia TOS.

2. Do not ask to buy a Sweetly, of any stage, who already has an owner, for any reason.

3. Don't PM any of the artists or staff, PM the mule. Some of us have mailboxes that have PMs that breed like bunnies, and you don't want your question lost, do you?

4. Use brackets when an active roleplay is going on. This means, if you pop in while two people are arpeeing, you need to use either ((double parentheses)) or [brackets] or |these|. It's just to separate OOC chatter from IC chatter.

5. Don't steal art, don't steal the metaplot updates, don't steal character ideas, etcetra. And don't steal the Control code at the top of each page. It would make me sad.

6. WE ARE LITERATE. That means no "l33t" talk. If you want to talk, please understand that the letter "u" is just that, a letter, not a word.

7. No racism, sexism, etc. in OOC chat. Biased comments, believe it or not, do offend people, and it just makes you look bad as well as hurt people's feelings. So please think about what you say before you post it; that means please do not insult anyone OOCly, whether it be about race, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexuality. It's alright in RP if your character has that sort of personality, but please keep that kind of thing outside of OOC chatter. Something like this has yet to happen, but I(Niko) have seen things like this happen in other threads I frequent, with the sayer having no intention of offending, but still doing so nonetheless. So please, watch what you say.

8. No prolific swearing please. Swearing is alright, but if it's something like "Oh, that ******** did some damn crazy s**t to me" or something like that, please just don't bother. There are people that frequent gaia that are younger then 16, and whose parents wouldn't appreciate that sort of stuff, and some, if not all, of the staff members dislike that as well. I(Niko) use swear words sometimes, but yeah. Just don't start doing that like every second word.

9. No flaming. Please just don't flame at all. There is no point and purpose to it, and some people that aren't even involved will find it very offensive. Please don't have heated arguements; if you must have a bickerment with someone, please take it to PMs. If you have something like that in a public thread, it can make people uncomfortable. Don't rail on people that did something to you(A complaint here and there is fine, but nothing extensive like flaming a newbie or something o.o), or about someone who did something in another thread(Even if they are on the blacklist/whatever). Show respect, and let the mods deal with whatever problems there happen to be.

Sweetly Owner Rules

1. Sweetlys AND Candies can die. And some will, but not without owner permission. If we approach you with a plot that would end in your Sweetly dying, you can tell us NO. We'll listen. We're definately not gonna rape your hard-earned Sweetly or rip it away unfulfilled.

2. Post at least once in your journal every month. It's a change from the old thread and the guild, and the guild will be updated as soon as possible.

3. Inform Decieving Sweetly of any prolonged absences. If you will vanish in a plotline that is centric around your Sweetly, you must inform us, no matter how long it'll be. Two days could mean the difference between Zelos or Legendia triumphing. In other cases, anything more than two months.

4. If you vanish for more than six months without warning or notice, I will take your Sweetly away. I'm sorry. But if you won't put in the effort after consciously choosing to participate by entering the flatsale, contest, auction or whatever, then I will take away the Sweetly and event it off. You will not get a refund. You will not get a portion of the profit.

5. The growth rules (journal requirements, etc) are in the guild.

6. If your Sweetly is taken away for an infraction of the rules, you will not get a refund. If you break a rule, and you're banned from the shop or just have your child taken away, you won't get a refund. It just causes too many problems for some people, whether you paid with items(That may no longer belong to the artist) or gold(Which they may not have anymore). If the artist doing your Sweetly quits or disappears, your Sweetly drawings will go to another artist. Whether or not you get a refund, talk to Vocalization and the artist your sweetly is going to.

Roleplay Rules

1. GM and die. This is a two-strike and kill rule. This means, two tries and warnings, then I blacklist you.

2. Do not have someone who can cleanse evil with you in the thread. An integral part of these breedables is that they are not good at all when they are born. They are innocent, but there is so much evil in them that it'll be the work of at least months to make them humanly in balance again. Having someone who can automatically cleanse evil is rather pointless.

Candy
At this stage, it's an innocent-looking candy. It can't harm you... can it?

Child
At this stage, you have a child. It has any variety of personalities, but always excudes an evil aura to those who are sensitive. Their past crimes stay with them in their new body. This is when you can start to try and redeem this soul... they appear to be 4-8 years old.

Preteen
At this stage, the child grows to be about 9-12 years old. They may start manifesting powers, depending upon the crime. For example, someone who sold valuable national security data in their old life might gain the ability to delve into minds and see what's within. A corrupt politican might be able to pickpocket real easy.

Teen
At this stage, the child is about 13-21 years old. They start to act out and it definately shows in their cert image. All their former candy coating is cleaned off and they may start have dreams and longing to continue their former actions. It's up to you to teach them that it's wrong.

Youth
At this stage, you have a 19-26 year old. They know a lot more about the world and remember all of their former crimes. Here is when they may start breeding. Their "alignment"- whether they wish to be redeemed or not- starts to show.

Adult
Looks mature, at the very least- no accounting for personality. The child knows what its crime was, and now tries to atone, or continues its evil knowingly. They have wingbuds- small wings- visible, as an indication of its alignment.

Sweet
Roleplay Optional
You may gain this stage if your child was Redeemed from their former evil actions. This can ONLY be done through roleplay. The child gains angelic wings and the power of holy light.

Bitter
Roleplay Optional
You may gain this stage if your child was NOT Redeemed from their former evil actions. This can ONLY be done through roleplay. The child gains demonic wings and the power of darkness.

Tasteless
Roleplay Optional
You may gain this stage if your child was not Redeemed, nor chose to continue their evil. This can only be done through roleplay. The child gains the airy wings of those who are not redeemed, but are not accursed.

Eternal
Special Stage Level One
This stage is only attainable by the best roleplayers. Most Sweetly don't grow to it unless they've been fairly active in the group.

Demetri
Stray's niece, and the child of her sister. She inherited Stray's home when the angel disappeared, and has moved in with her husband and her children. She seems to like most of the Sweetly, but always seems sad when confronted by teenage boys, even just guardians. She is the caretaker of a grape-flavored dango.

Eve and Braise
Demetri's children, twin demons. They split their wings between them at birth so one wouldn't grow up resenting the other because that twin got the wings and could fly while the other was earthbound. Eve has plant-magic, and Braise can control fire. Braise is arrogant and formal, while Eve is more outgoing and even-tempered.

Bias
The creator of the Sweetly. He's a twice-dead sorceror who currently controls a being who may take the darkness out of someone's heart and control it. His candy was a dark chocolate wizard's hat.

Zelos and Legendia
The first Sweetly and near-identical twins. Zelos is of the Sweet level, while Legendia is of the Bitter level. They cannot hide their thoughts from each other, and are thus very good sources of information.

Teygra
In the past, she was an arsonist - setting buildings (preferably libraries) on fire. She makes one wonder just why her candy is the sweet French Vanilla jelly bean. And now, in her second life, she has reached stage Bitter. Through both of her lives - as she has very demonstratively showed - she seems to have a prejudice against literacy, and remains unable to read a single letter up to date. Teygra also tends to always keep about - tucked in her belt or slipped up a sleeve - a number of odd items, including matches, candles...a magnifying glass....Needless to say - she likes fire.

Raffle tickets are given out for free, one per person, and three to seven people are chosen by the random numbers generator. Those three to seven people fill out a prompt and the one who enters the best prompt wins the Sweetly- often a custom or a special type.
