Born as one of the first Fa'e on Gaia, Raeith originally was given to InvisibleFriend. She thrived as a beautiful baby, toddler, adn child, until life happened, and IF no longer could care for here. Hereupon she faltered, and grew deathly ill, fading at her edges like an old photograph. It was unknown if she could be saved.
Mouse was a common visitor to the Fa'e HQ, treating all of the children to playdates with kiries, small mouse-like creatures that are often very silly and have insatiable appetites for cookies. Anya found her there, watching the children, and took her to Airi, on the off chance the changed Dream within Raeith could match Mouse's, and the child be saved. When Mouse touched Raeith, the child solidifed, sat up, and began to cry. Not a very auspicious start.
Raeith grew to know Miss Mouse as a kind person, who spoiled her with animal companions of all sorts. Mous enever expected ot be more than a surrogate mother to the child, but they grew close as Raeith grew.
Raeith also met many Fa'e, whom she loved muchly. Mordath struck a chord deep within her and made her feel warm and snuggly. Morion was her knight in shining blue scales, Taka her Taka-bat playmate with a soul bond connection, and many many others. During this time, her little horns fell off and were replaced by silken hair. It was her connection to Mordath, however, that led to the first major change.
As the darker, older Fa'e began to exlpore his own origins, he possessed a familiar of shadow - a wolf. Unaware of her ties to Mordath in her previous life, Raeith continued to spend time with him, believing him a prince and a wonderful person. This wolf, however, stole into her room late one night and tore her away from the safety of Mouse's house, and back to Arkoth, a centuries old wizard desiring powers that required the presence and sacrifice of Raeith, Mordath, and PurrPurr. Forced into a weakly struggling Kirin form, Raeith remembered the first glimpses of her past life - Terrible ones, pain and blood. Weakened by a magical collar placed on her by Arkoth, she coudl only lay ther eand remember, blood oozing from a gaping hol ein her forehead.
A mission by Sabin, Kamiki, Azaroth, PurrPurr and Mordath led them to Arkoth's ancient castle, where they found the old wizard ready for them. A battle ensued, whereupon Arkoth was ... "devoured".. by an angry Sabin. Roth found Raeith in kirin form, and she was eventually freed from teh collar and returned to her normal form. It was revealed that Mordath's old life had ended hers with a spell designed to return him to power throuhg bonding him to the kirin. (Further Explained in the section below).
The next mornign, Raeith awoke in teenage form, ready to begin dealign with the pain of her memories. At prom, she (and the others) found that in this life, they must make a choice - persue their past lives and goals and become immortal ancients, or choose to be mortal and have a family and children. A lover of all babies, Raeith found this difficult. More pressing, however, was her discovery of feelings for Mordath, which were confessed to him at this event. At his utter indignation and _anger_ at her feelings, she fled. They haven't spoken much since.
In the ensuing depression ove rher rejection, Rae talked to Airi. The two discussed the difference between finding love as an Ancient and loving as a Mortal. Convinced she was not meant for love of any kind in this life, Raeith made a choice - she would forego Mortality and persue beign an Ancient. But Kirins are protectors, and she had no prince in this lifetime to protect. It was pointed out to her that she may choose what to protect - the bonds of her last life are not neccesarily the _bounds_ of this one. And so Raeith made another decision - she woudl devote her energies to protecting and raising the Fa'e children, who often were as lost and lonely as she, whose Guardians coudl sometimes not understand the complexities of growing up Fa'e.
Rae had many Fa'e children that were as attached ot her as a sister; most of the new babies knew her as a babysitter or someone who woul dfind fun toys (and she was SHINY!!). Still, while helping others, she found she had much trouble in helping herself.
Time wore on, Rae pressed through lessons and tried to learn more about herself. She attempted ot learn martial arts, which failed due to a lack of ability to defend herself, a problem from her past. She sought out Hoshi to speak with the stars, learning bits and pieces. During these sessions, she developed pressure headaches behind her third eye.
A mention about her third eye - since growing, it had become more active, often looking in odd directions or appearing to focus on things Raeith paid no attention to. She never coudl see out of it, and had no control over its motions. Hoshi once discovered while tryign to touch an injury of Raeith's that it appeared to freeze his hand in place. Many found it semi facinating, and there were other strange occurences...
Raeith, while unconscious in Arkoth's lair, had spoken to a man named Sheng. She hadn't thought much of it, as he claimed ot know her from her previous life, and she found comfort in his voice. Indeed, it was his soul that possessed that third eye, following in tandem to her soul to atone for his past life sins. He was given very basic ablities of telekinesis to protect her.
She was growing, however, and the regrowth of her horn pressed against the spirit and eye, causing her terrible headaches. A friend, Moorgahaine, gave her some medicine to soothe her, and upon request, fashioned a special staff. It is modeled after a Monk's with rings that jingle to warn bugs to move out of their path so they harm none. It bears a special rearing dragons motif. Finding Sheng's spirit living with her, she faced the fact that when she grew, he woudl be killed. Unable to live with that, she tried to make arrangements to ahve him implanted into the staff.
Still tryign to learn more about her past, she left home and travelled to a monestary in China to read through their scripts. Speaking Chinese came easy to her, and here she studied for several weeks. It is here she again called to Hoshi to speak with the stars and ot him. Somethign in her clicked, and upon her return, she sought out Airi with her life's decisions, and was grown (with Sheng being placed safely into the staff).
Here it continues.. she ahs been in secludion for far too long, and believes herself to have let down all of her Fa'e companions. Uncertain of where to go from here, she drifts in the wind...
