Yasha is somewhat quiet, not because she's shy but simply because she prefers to make the greatest impact with the fewest words, by waiting for the right moment and saying just the right thing. She tends to stay back and observe what's going on around her, out of curiosity and a sense of detachment. She is quietly amused by - and somewhat disdainful of - people who let their emotions run away with them.
She loves being outdoors, especially in the sun, and has a great appreciation for the beauty of nature. She likes the simplicity of the natural world, as compared to the complex nature of 'civilization'.
She's the sort of person to spend hours meditating over a Zen garden, or doing Tai Chi excercises to hone her body and senses. She's studied several variations of martial arts, but prefers to use them only for defence and as a true art form. For her, there is no separation of physical and spiritual. By honing her body, she also strengthens her spirit.
Magic, likewise, is another way to shape her spirit and prepare it for the journey to the next life. She studies it as just another discipline, and is fascinated by the interplay of energy and its effects on the physical world. For her, magic is 'mind over matter', and she believes it could be performed by anyone who took the time to learn the discipline and mindset necessary.
While she doesn't eschew physical possessions entirely, she tends to be something of a minimalist. So long as she has what she needs to live and everything is of decent quality, she's happy. She doesn't need expensive toys or status symbols to make her feel important.
Although not a 'loner' by nature, because of her standoffish attitude and subtle criticism of others she tends to be alone more often than not. Once someone has won her affections, however, she's fiercely loyal to them and would protect them with her life.

There are certain things that Yasha does every day, barring unusual circumstances. She always rises before sunrise, and goes out to watch dawn come in, regardless of the weather.
After dawn comes her excercises. First Tai Chi as a warm-up and to work on her dexterity, then strength-building excercises using rocks as weights for resistance. After that she'll often go running or flying, to work on her endurance. In all things, she strives for balance.
She'll find at least a few minutes, preferably an hour or more, each day to spend on meditation. She most often uses her Zen garden as a focus, but if she happens upon something peaceful and lovely in the woods, like a chattering stream or a little waterfall, she'll use that instead.
And finally, she'll spend some time each evening studying her magic or reading the science textbooks she convinced Shinobu to bring her. Often her study sessions include Simon, one of the few other feien she's close to.
