1. No general drama stuff about winning, losing, or claiming anything. Keep it clean and fun for everyone... and please obey the gaia TOS.

2. Entries will be taken ten minutes after the due date for all you tardies. wink But after that, the contest will officially be closed and no more entries will be accepted.

3. Post entries in the thread! Do *not* PM them to the mule, or the staff, because they won't count.

IF YOUR QUESTION IS NOT ANSWERED IN THIS FAQ, THEN PLEASE SEE THE THREAD FAQ HERE.

1. How much do these cost?
Absolutely nothing. There's no entering fee or winner's price to pay. Happy writing!

2. Wait, there's nowhere on the form for me to name him/her!
That's because you don't give the nymphs, your animal guardian, or anything else 'names'. They are simply known by what they are: Blue Heron, Oak, Bear- ect. You can give them a simple nickname, but there must be a reason of 'why' behind it.

3. How long am I allowed to make my entry?
The longer, the better in this case. Try describing all aspects of your character's personality, and give them life. 3nodding

4. How exactly are you judging these?
Honestly, we're looking for anything that stands out. This is a creativity contest, really, so as long as you create something detailed, different, and interesting, you'll have a good chance!

5. We pick trees- but what about prehistoric/extinct/mythical trees? Can we pick those?
Of course you can. That only makes things so much more interesting, right?

6. I'm having trouble with the magic part, did you want one specific ability or a vague gift?
If it's a vague gift, then make sure not to make it too strong; if it's one specific ability, then it can be stronger.

7. This job part is really really hard too!
As for jobs, they're not supposed to be anything complicated, and they don't have to relate to your tree in any fashion. Simple things, like making sure the flowers smell, or making sure that the clouds don't fall from the sky- things a child would dream up.

8. The tree I'm working on has some mythological ties, but it means different things in different parts of the world. Are we allowed to combine them all? Or should I just choose one part of the world and base the nymph off that?
One specific part, so if there are any more of your type of tree, they can choose other things to make them different.

A little insight...

First off, welcome! Have a seat in the thread, kick back on a limb, and drink some apple cider (we're sure the apple trees won't mind). The bees have honey and cinnamon to your left, just make sure to ask first.

Alright, so in essence, what are you really going for here? Assuming that you've read the main thread over (so you know the garble we're ranting about), this is a complete custom contest for a nymph. Basically, a 'design-a-nymph' kind of deal. You get to design your guardian too, but the main focus are on the treelings.

Taking a gander back at the main thread, you'll notice there are no actual nymphs in existence yet- but then how do you know what the rough appearence of a nymph is supposed to look like? What base is there to design upon?

I'll tell you right now- there is no set appearence. Nymphs can look humanoid, or not so humanoid. They can possess strangely shaped limbs and the face of an ocelot with eight eyes, for what it's worth.
The fact of the matter is, that you're allowed to think up anything that you want. Anything goes- nymphs and dryads have been displayed in a myriad of ways over the years. Why not just make up your own?

Keep it PG-13 and below (and keep it relevant), and then there will be no problems.
