Just as there is a stratification amongst any religion be it Christiantiy, Islam, Judaism, there is stratification in the world's "misc." religion Pagan.
Within paganism are hundreds, thousands of subsets. Religions defined as Pagan only by vauge descriptions. I mean not every pagan is Wiccan, in fact some dispise Wiccan.
I myself aren't fond of Wicca much but no hatred (I just think wicca has become an outlet for teen goths who want to appear spooky to their parents).
So I'm curious how the pagans amongst us define themselves. Do you follow an order? A solitary practitioner? How do you perform ceremonies? What are you basic beliefs, etc. You get my drift...
I guess I'll go first. I am a solitary practitioner (To you non-pagans that means someone who worships on his own without a coven). I'd like to imagine myself more faithful than those around me as I set aside time each day to reflect and meditate.
As far as my beliefs go there is no faith I'm aware of that shares my belief of a bi-planer world. I feel the world exists as a Mechanical World and a Spiritual World. They are both contradictory and harmonious, can't live with each other can't be without each other. The Mechanical shapes our physical world, governed by math and science, while the Spiritual shapes the imagination, bending the equation. Without the Spirtual the Mechanical is just the same thing over and over until it stops. Humans do not souls as we are but a cog in a big machine set to perform one task that will shape our world.
As far as my crafts I believe only in Divinatory or Recessive magics. I firmly do not believe in Active magic (casting fireballs, turning people into frogs, putting curses on people, etc.). Instead I read the lines of the Mechanical world to gain insight into fate. My main tool is Tarot, a Scrapini Translation to be precise (Typically I do Celtic Ten card but on special occasions I've delved into different types of spreads). On top of that I know over 50 other divinatory crafts from all around the world. From Geomancy to Tea leaf reading to Pendulums, to Palm Reading (I'm still very rusty on this, only started a month ago), Rune reading, and even Zulu Bone Scrying.
Contrary to most faiths I believe that every man should follow their own faith, in fact I am so bold to say that all faiths are correct, just translated funny. Everyone in reality are worshipping the same thing, it's the human legalities that cause holy wars. But as an observer I just sit back and offer people a reading when they need answers. Am I to say that my faith is correct, not really as it is not so much a faith as a realization. I'm not worshipping a god, rather the entirety of existence itself...
