7/28/2006 Emo Lollipop has informed me that she will be taking a break from Gaia. We'll miss you!

8/26/2006 My charity has already donated more than 900,000 gold in donations!
9/06/2006 I will only be on weekends starting this upcoming Sunday. Then I will be on either Saturdays or Sundays. I might switch my status to hidden.
Starting 11/8/2006, I, [H.E.R.O.] will be taking a break from Gaiaonline.com. I have alot going on now, I need to prioritize. Sadly, in the things to do , Gaia is on the list of "to do later". Take no offense at all, as you will all be missed in my time away. Any of my moderators who can donate may do so until I return. Otherwise, you may visit this thread as you see fit. Thanks everyone!

2/16/2007: Keeper of Balance Charity Has reopened! We have One million gold to go at it with!
We are taking part in THE Santa Claus's newest event! Hope to see you there!

1. Who is the owner of this charity? Lord MacNaughten
2. How did you get started in charity work? I always wanted to be as helpful as possible. Seeing how pricey items are here on Gaia, I decided to devote myself entirely to helping to ease the prices by giving gold to applicants.
3. How did your charity get its name? Well, there aren't enough items for everyone. There also isn't enough gold to go around. I figured I could balance the equation by dolling out gold to make items go down in price. Thus balance was acheived.
4. What is unusual about your charity? We implement good vs. bad. Bad being over-priced items, good being friendship, extra gold in your pocket, and answers to questions.
5. What is most rewarding about running your charity? Getting a thank you from a donatee, or hearing my donation helped finish a quest!
6. Tell about a memorable incident that happened in your charity. I bought my little brother an entire avatar, then he won the Arenas at second place with it. I really made his week!
7. What advice would you give to anyone wanting to open their own charity? Things are slow to start, but when you finaly take off, you couldn't be happier. Go into a charity with high reserves, just in case you get the urge to splurge on donations!
8. Any additional comments? If it weren't for high priced items and questers, we simply wouldn't be here. Thanks everyone, for helping me out with my goal; helping you!
01/05/2008: Keeper of Balance Charity to re-open effective 01/11/2008!
12/12/2008: Whoa! I need to update this stuff more often! *blows off dust* Well, I've been here for nearly three years now, and giving the better part of said time. Sadly, I am not as wealthy as I once was. Charities seem to have waxed and waned, many were never successful. I want to give you gold. What do I want in return? Nothing. Well, a "Thank You" would be kind, but you catch my drift. I am opening with a small sum of 200K. Once that's gone, so is this charity. I will happily accept any/ all donations to this charity. Keeper of Balance Mule has not been able to sign on in some time, as I suspect her job has taken her far abroad. I will attempt to reach her via telephone and request any donations she's received to be transferred to me. I only hope it's enough to keep me going. I absolutely love helping out my fellow Gaians the only way I can. So, it saddens me to know that this could be it. More update to come.
04/09/2009: Effective today, this charity will be shut down. Any further posts asking for donations will be ignored, though anyone is welcomed to chatter away. If a dedicated Gaia moderator deems this thread no longer fit to remain in this forum, may you move it on your own recognizance. I would like to thank any/ all who have made these past near three years possible. Without your time, effort, gold, items, and well wishing, I would not have stuck it out all this time. Benefits include, (your choice) a donation or a sealed for the beginning of each month of your dedicated service to the people of Gaia and KB Charity.The donation is a random number. It may/ may not exceed the initial value of the sealed. I do these things to say, "Thank you", and I reserve the right to renig on this perk.
