Stage 1 - Novice
With your baby dragon you must set out, find a class and begin to learn it. With neither experience nor money, you are dressed plainly, desperate for a teacher. Your goal, of course, is to become a master of your craft and defeat the overlord. But, you need to start somewhere.
Stage 2
You have found a teacher and are able to begin learning your class. You develop a small amount of skills. Your dragon is a child and is a bit hard to handle. Keep learning your trade and maybe go on a few quests!
Swordsman
Thief
Mage
Archer
Merchant
Acolyte
Stage 3
You have become pretty good at your class and have come to a conclusion of which way you want to take your class. You know a good amount of abilities and are getting better. Your dragon is a teenager and is beginning to help you with your class. Quests are easier because it assists you and is less reliant on you.
If Swordsman, knight or crusader/explorer
If thief, assassin or rogue
If mage, wizard, dark mage, or sage
If archer, hunter or bard/dancer
If merchant, blacksmith or alchemist
If acolyte, priest, hermit or cleric
Stage 4
You no longer require your teacher. Doing jobs and going on quests yourself, you hear rumors about the Dragon Quest and your fully grown dragon is eager. The Dragon Quest seems to involve visiting many areas of the overlord’s kingdom and visiting all types of dragons away from the village that was burned. The result of the quest? No one has any idea. At this stage each character, no matter the class, will be taught a spell for one of the summons. They can call upon a special character to help them.
If knight, lord knight
If crusader/explorer, paladin/ranger
If assassin, assassin cross
If rogue, stalker/thief
If wizard, high wizard
If dark mage, necromancer/illusionist
If sage, professor/scholar
If hunter, sniper/druid
If bard/dancer, clown/minstrel/gypsy/enchanter
If blacksmith, whitesmith/master smith
If alchemist, creator/biochemist
If priest, high priest
If hermit, monk
If cleric, high cleric
Stage 5
You have become the best possible at your skill. Your dragon is fully grown and you have gone on the Dragon Quest. The result? You have merged with your dragon, becoming the strongest possible person you can be. You have some physical characters of the dragon, many powers and have the same lifespan your dragon had. You are now strong enough to face the overlord. Good luck . . .

"Here be dragons..." This line was written on old maps to describe unexplored areas inhabited by unknown creatures.
Dragon - an iconic fantasy monster. In the west they typically symbolize evil, in the east they typically are symbolic for nature and are idolized. In the Wings of a Dream universe, dragons are neither. They are friends, companions and partners.
They can all have different magical abilities and all have varying personalities. Dragons, as super intelligent beings, can learn any language they want to. Since your character raised it, it has obviously learned the language they speak. However, there is also a 'dragon speak' where the humans only hear different types of roars, but the dragons can understand eachother.
There are some elemental dragons that have special abilities, but these will be given away at special (custom) sales. The different elements are: earth, fire, metal, water, and wood.
Creating your own dragon (for customs):
In a fantasy setting, such as a world where dragons exist, rules are meant to be broken. Lines can be crossed and boundries pushed. There are many ways that you can design your custom dragon. The basic dragon consists of a fire-breathing, four-limbed, winged beast. They, however, can have their own shape, just as humans can. Some are more box-like. Some are triangular (with a harsher effect), and some are more circular (with a more cuddly pinch and squeeze effect). Many animals can inspire the look you want for your dragon: bats, dinosaurs, fish, eels, snakes, felines, birds, lizards, horses, etc. The size wings vary, making them look different in flight. Whether or not you have wings or not is up to you. The type of accessories your dragon has can vary too. Accessories meaning whiskers, horns, scales, beards, tail appearance, any fur/hair/feathers, foward or backwards horns, fins, etc.

Once a character is advanced enough and the dragon has grown to the mamoth proportions that they all grow to, not every character can be inconspicuous with a 50ft dragon following them around. Once a dragon grows to a specific size, every character has to return to the Dragon Realms to learn a spell that will teach them how to shrink their dragon into a bio-sword. This does not hurt the dragon, but allows the character to use the dragon's abilities as well as have an amazingly powerful weapon. This bio-sword is the characters dragon, essentially. The character must care for it as s/he would your dragon and it can fight with him/her (as his/her weapon,) but, unlike the normal dragon companion, it is smaller and will not attract attention.
This is also the final weapon that a character has when they combine with their dragon.
