ITS HAPPENED!!!
LOOK HERE ALL!

NOTICE: I just returned from Japan and got to go to Kyoto, and Gion, the Geisha district... see my story below!!!
Wouldn't it be nice to have a Geisha or Maiko Avatar?
Here is my Idea:
In the Salon, you could purchase a Geisha hairstyle, for around 1,000 gold. In a clothing shop, a Geisha Kimono (or Maiko Kimono), for about 5,000 gold, an obi for about 2,000 and then accesories such as Hair Sticks, Fans, parasols and jewlery at the Jewlery shop for various prices!

Questions and Answers?
What is a Geisha? Aren't they Prostitutes?
Geisha are artists, and entertainers, unlike popular western belief, Geisha are not Prostitutes.
After WWII, when American Soldiers went to Japan, they returned with wild stories about these so called "Geisha Girls" who where actually whores dressed up like Geisha, and calling themselves Geisha.
True Geisha do not sell their bodies off now a days; traditionally they had a ceremony called a Mizuage, where they sold their virginty to the highest bidder. This ceremony, however is no longer done. Modern day Geisha sing, play instruments, dance and do tea ceremony.
What is a Maiko?
A Maiko is an apprentice Geisha. They follow a Geisha about and watch her work, while learning. Unlike they Geisha, they have red collars on their Kimonos, not white like a Geisha.

My Geisha Story!
I went to Kyoto, Japan around September 29, 2006. And I went to tGion around evening time and saw some Geisha and maiko... here is an excerpt from my diary about it:
We then jumped on a bus and went to Gion, the Geisha district. It was perfect timing, evening. Geisha work at night and even so they where coming out.
Just so you know. Geisha aren’t prostitutes. They are entertainers, they dance, sing and talk. No true Geisha will sell herself off. This misunderstanding happened when American soldiers from Japan returned after WWII and told stories about “Geisha Girls”. Who where actually prostitutes dressed up and calling themselves Geisha.
We were walking down a street when suddenly a geisha in a purple kimono walked out onto the street, she walked so fast I couldn’t get a good picture of her. Also, I didn’t want to get in her way, making her late. I was also shocked that I saw a Geisha that quickly. We kept walking and went up a street where the geisha had come from. A taxi was outside an Okiya, or Geisha House, with a ground of tourists waiting. I was curious so I waited with them.
I made sure I was out of the way, then the Geisha came out, and what happened next shocked me. My camera died on me, so I couldn’t get many pictures, but seeing them was enough for me. But what shocked me was the American tourists. They got close to the geisha, just to take pictures, and one jerk even had the gull to go up to the car and take a picture right next to the window. I was so angry at them. What must those Geisha think of Americans?
The Japanese tourists stayed out of the way, like I did. I was amazed at how well the Geisha acted towards all this. The Geisha ignored us, if I was in their place, I would most likely blow up and tell the tourists off. They also didn’t smile.(They are suppose to look emotionless unless they are being paid to entertain.)
