Rules
Just a few simple rules that should be easy to follow, if your decent. Any rule breakers here will be delt with me. There will also be a Poisen Apple list (those who do not follow the rules) And A Golden Apple list (those who were wonderful in their buisness with me) Depending on the comitted crime, I will see the Poisen Apple's punishment as I see fit. Be warned that a few rules are back up by law (ex. stealing art and claiming as your own) and could involve going to court. And I am serious, I do not approve of stealing. And Gaia will not be blamed for anything that goes wrong here. It will only be the individual's fault.
1) DO NOT steal artwork and claim as your own
2) DO NOT post my works on other sites with out my permission. This includes making avatars or buttons out of my art.
3) DO NOT manipulate my artwork in anyway and think that is enough to make it your own. It's NOT.
4) Treat me with decentcy as I will treat you. Keep the Golden Rule in mind.
5) Treat others with decentcy as well. I will close the circus down if I find that disrespect comes up high here.

Five Things Artists Hate - By jisuk

linking from jisuk, thank you!
Rules of Curtusy:
Please keep in mind of these, If you make a comment like any of these five, I don't care who you are, you will be ignored.
5) saying you're broke. when an artist is offering commissions or prints, they probably need money. when they check their messages to see if there are any bites, they usually get a little excited until they notice it's about 40 people saying "I would, but i'm broke." first off, this is sort of a 'duh' thing to say. it wastes their time. it's discouraging. if you're not interested, just don't say anything. they didn't personally ask you, so you don't need to turn then down.
4) jjapanese. as smart and worldly as you think it makes you look, the truth is that comments with japanese words in them are annoying. real, true japanese people comment in english when they are on an english website. it doesn't matter if you're "studying" it or "know real japanese people." the artist you're commenting on, 99% of the time, isn't japanese. commenting in japanese benefits NO ONE in this situation, and it makes you look like a wannabe anime crazed tool. regardless of your intent or reasoning, it's annoying.
3) know-it-all comments. if you see something that needs to be corrected, a common courtesy would be to check if anyone else has pointed it out. for example, if someone has 4 toes instead of 5, type ctrl + f. enter 'toe.' this quickly helps you find any comment that mentions toes. if no one has mentioned it, it would be polite to leave a properly critical comment. even more polite would be to note the artist to avoid embarrassment at a silly little mistake. commenting on it, when 5 other people already did, makes you seem show offy, pompous, and unobservant.
2) not reading descriptions. this is one of the most annoying, hair pulling, bang your head on the desk things that artists get on a regular basis. an artist will take the time out in the picture's description to give you information, such as the character's name, what programs they used to make it, etc. if someone comments asking something that is clearly answered in the description, it shows that you expect them to take time out of their day to answer you, but you didn't bother giving them the 10 seconds it takes to read the description. commenting only so that the artist will answer you, just to talk to them, is irritating. if someone asks me something that is in the description, i ignore them. [i used to yell at them but got over it]
1) comparisons. "oh my gosh, he soo looks like my boyfriend lol1" "your art looks just like george bob smith's art!" "wow! you drew me it looks exactly like me!" "this style reminds me of FLCL." okay. wow. just typing those made me mad. anyway.. most artists i know hate being compared to things. even if it is true, even if your boyfriend's cousin's roommate looks exactly like my character, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. comparisons make artists feel unoriginal, uncreative, overdone, and discouraged. putting effort, time, love, and devotion into character creation, only to have some tween run up and be like "this looks like bob from my fav anime!!" makes you wanna rip out their kidney and eat it to gain their strength or something. especially when the characters look nothing alike. if you say this, keep in mind that you are not complimenting someone, you are accusing them. you can comment like this, but remember that it is not a positive thing to say, it's negative. don't think you're being kind when you do this. there are, of course, exceptions. it's impossible to tell what will make an artist uncomfortable when you compare, so the safest thing to do would just be NOT DOING IT.
