May 29th, 2010 Celebrating 4 years with a New Thread!
September 11, 2009 The Grim's Two Faces Contest has ended, with very unsatisfactory results. Augoiedes' entry, Of Harrison, sounds like a truly awesome guy, more than worthy of the Angelic Wind he won, and we wish him the best. However, we also would have wished for more entries... not a single person entered the Demonic side of the contest.
August 26, 2009 Since it's been absolutely forever, it's time for the Grims to have a new contest! Scroll down to the "Specials" section to check out all the details on how to enter our brand new, spanking Two Sides Contest! (Yes, those are words. Select the words to see if you wanna know so bad, lol.) All the rules and whatnot are below; failure to adhere to them are grounds or disqualification (We have NOT forgotten the Pinata fiasco). This contest ends on September 7th (Labor Day, for the USians).
August 2009 We've been ninny's who took unplanned, depressed vacations from Gaia for far too long. We're going to try to do better. And we're definitely not giving up our charity yet!
May 2009 Posts may be a bit less common then normal for a while. Kerryee is coming to Tennessee to visit Mel, then Mel is going up to Michigan for a while to hang with Kerryee et familia. We're still in business, though, and we'll keep on eye on the thread as we can.

We don't try to tell people what to think or feel or to influence your decisions or beliefs. However, when you chose to share your viewpoints in our thread, then we get to decide if we want those aired here. For the most part, we don't mind. General debates is even good. But when those comments or views are offensive or hurtful to another person or their way of life, they really don't belong in our thread. We welcome everyone. If we ask you to stop, please do so. October 21st, 2008 For those who do not read the actual thread, Kerryee and I are both back after a weekend without computer. I have been very sick and am surviving on cold medicine and beef jerky, and Kerryee took a family trip to visit me and claim ownership of some vehicles our grandfather left us when he died last year. I am sure you have all missed as greatly, for those who bothered to notice our absence (not aimed at thread regulars - we know you knew we were missing).
Additional note: For those who think they should have won a pinata prize that was not sent to them, someone probably rolled that number before you or you were disqualified for breaking a rule. If you are curious, please do feel free to PM Melandra about the matter, as she keeps files on every pinata swing and can tell you who won what and when, or who was disqualified when and for what reason.
Now, for the meat and bones of this announcement. We, and I mean the Grims as a collective, are thoroughly pissed off. About what? Super pinata. More aptly, the way it is being treated in the thread, made more obvious by the obvious dirth of posts about anything else while we were away. YES, the point of super-pinata is to give people chances at free schwag, but it is irritating beyond belief when a play-based contest is turned into a greedfest by people who are too lazy to even read the 12 rules that went along with the game at start. If we completely banned people from ever doing it again on every mistake, less than a third of those trying for prizes would still be allowed! It is especially annoying when once considers that some of those first twelve rules were as simple as "no mules!" no brainers that are everywhere. stare
For the most part, this rant is not aimed at people who's normal thing is to come in, do a post or two, and then disappear again due to busy schedules. It is aimed at those who have stumbled upon the chance for free crap, or been lead here by friends, and are too freaking lazy to read what is now 15 relatively simple rules! It is aimed at those who we have not seen in months, not even for a single emoticon post, who come in with complete disregard for reading a dang thing! It is not that hard to put a single word in your first post or two wait 24 hours between tries, but it apparently taxes some people to the point were they are reverting to drooling morons.
If you have not realized, there was no exaggeration when I said "we're pissed."
Due to things like this, more rules have been added to super pinata. As well, it will be a long, LONG time before we ever do anything like this again, because it is infuriating and insulting that our hard work to allow anyone who stumbles past the chance at some items worth well over 50k in value for free is met with such disregard that people cannot read 15 freaking rules. You don't even have to read through the entire thread, just that single games' rules! For those who can't, be wary to feel the teeth of the Grims, because we've just about had as much as we can take!
We don't want your apologies. We don't want sycophantic slobber on our boots as you grovel for our forgiveness. We don't even want you to disappear. We just want you to pay attention to the freaking rules! It's not that hard!!
October 11th, 2008 The Remains of Super Pinata have been reconfigured!! It is open for whacks again!
New Pinata:
What does this mean for players? Better odds and changed numbers. That's all. The items have been reordered so that the remaining 131 (as of post time) are arranged in a range from 1-220, giving slightly better than 1-2 odds. (Translation: chances are that, out of every two attempts, at least one will get a prize!)
OMG! Do I get to go again now?? You still have to wait a full 24 hours from your last post. It is not a new pinata, only the reconfigured remnants of the old.
I don't see any knew items... See above. Nothing new was added, we just shuffled and condensed the old to make it more likely people will win something.
Note: In the detailed lists of items in Specials, please forgive any typos. Mel was heading towards 48 hours without sleep when she finished writing it xp Also, note rule #13. Anything confusing? Ask!

September 4th, 2008 The red hearts blocking out the taken pinata prizes are glitching from time to time. If you look at the posted picture and don't see them, you can scroll down to the list of items in the Specials post. Ones that have been striken out, like so, have already been gotten heart

August 26th, 2008 Please, for the love of pete, if you're participating in the pinata, keep an eye on your time stamps xp I don't like having to disqualify people, but the rules say one swing every 24 hours. So far, four swings have had to be disqualified for not waiting the full 24 hours before they took another turn, two of which would have won prizes IF they had been legal.
On the same note, if you think a swing you took should have won, but it has been well over 24-hours since you generated your random number and you have no trade from my mule, go back and check your timestamps for the pinata in the last 48 hours. Chances are, you came up short on the 24-hour clock, so I had to ignore your try. xp Remember, if you do not wait a full 24-hours before you generate a second random number, you have to wait 24 hours before swinging again from the new time and your swing does not count - YOU CANNOT GET A PRIZE OFF THESE SWINGS!

August 18th, 2008 Because Mel's felt lonely and bored, and has been toying with the idea for a while, she decided to remake the pinata, a nifty game she made up for the Versapaloosa. What is the pinata, you ask? Why, this is the current pinata:
Items with red hearts have been gotten, but the others are still up for grabs. Want to know how to get at those items? Scroll on down to our Specials post and find out! ^_^
As well, in 2 days, Mel starts back to college (hopefully), so donations may be a little slow, but they're still going out. Kerryee is still gone, so it's still just Mel. Be patient!
August 4th, 2008 Wow, apparently, I've not really felt like adding announcements since Kerryee had to leave... And, just for those who missed it, Kerryee is currently without internet and forced to live with her family of four (with a fifth on the way) in a travel camper xp We hope things improve soon, but, until then, Mel is on her own.
Now, the reason for the update - Upon adding new affiliate Marshmallow Etoile's quest (for blue inks - help her out and send your spares!), I took the opportunity to clean out our affiliates again. Eventually, I'm going to get a better system for the banners and affiliates section. For now, though, any linked threads that haven't had posts in months has been removed. If you restart your thread and would like to be re-affiliated, send a message smile
May 25th, 2008 Our second year as a charity is nearly at an end, and with it comes both happy and sad. The happy is that the Grims have a small fortune in presents ready for a lot of random gifts to deserving people and game prizes for the contests found here.
However, if the Versapaloosa seems rushed, that's because it was. Originally, we were going to start to run the festivities the day of our two-year mark, the 29th, and allow a week to ten days for entries. However, Kerryee recieved the bad news that she will be making a sad and not-entirely-wanted move at the end of this week, which will also leave her without internet for an untold amount of time. As we desperately want both Grims around for this occassion, we decided to get the thread up ASAP so that everyone could enjoy ad leave us just enough time, if we end at midnight on the 29th, to judge the games together. heart
We will miss Kerryee, which will give a bittersweet tinge to the festivities of the Versapaloosa, but the Grims will go on, waiting for the dear Sister's return heart
March 18th, 2008 Love is in the air! Kerryee and her real-life boyfriend, yourbuddyspence, have decided to make things official, after nearly 10 years together! He proposed to her last Thursday, and a Spring wedding is tentatively planned for 2009!
March 13th, 2008 While our dad is still not out of the woods, not to mention the hospital, he has been fairly stable for a while. After a month of being closed, we're a bit soul-hungry, so we figured it was about time to start up again. Thanks to everyone who has stopped to offer words of comfort to us - we cannot express how much it meant to know that we have so many friends around. smile
February 11th, 2008 Once again, the sisters are closing up shop, but not thread. Our father is currently in the ICU in Jackson, Tennessee in critical care. He has pneumonia. a staph infection in his lungs, and is in kidney failure. Bluntly put, it does not look good. Mel is currently living in the hospital waiting room and Kerryee will be leaving ASAP to Tennessee as well.
I ask our thread regulars to please spread the word, and to patrol the thread and enforce our rules here for any newcomers. And please keep us in your hearts. ~Kerryee

December 17th, 2007 After a good period of mourning, we've decided to reopen for business now smile I think I speak for not just myself, but both of my sisters, when I say how much it meant to see the words of encouragement from our friends. It hit hard to lose our grandfather, even though we knew he was very ill and this would be coming. Thank you all very much heart
December 02, 2007 The Sisters just recently lost their grandfather (as in, tonight), so official charity actions are ceasing until they can recover some. People are still free to post and such in the thread, but you may risk getting your head bitten off if you request to sell your soul, since this is the official announcement that it is CEASING while we mourn, and our moods probably won't be fantastic. The charity is still a home and chat, BUT NO SELLING SOULS RIGHT NOW - make a note and come back later. Thanks.
