Please make sure to follow Gaia's terms of service with all submitted entries. If it's not appropriate to post on Gaia, IE: overly sexual in nature or presentation, or contains explicit nudity/vulgarity, or is overly violent/graphic, I'm not interested in having it.
To futher clarify the first bullet, that includes copying/traced/stolen images. If you are not familiar with the rules against copying or tracing artwork for use on Gaia, please visit the Copy FAQ.
You can send in more than one entry per category if you want to! You can win multiple prizes per category (if the category has multiple prizes), but I would like to spread them around if possible.
You can draw in any sort of style or with any medium you like. Sketches, black and white, CG'ed, color-penciled, whatever. Do what you're best at, or just what you feel like doing at the time! Except dolls. Please don't use doll bases ^_^;
You can draw head shots, busts, full pictures, or anything in between or beyond xD. Anything goes~
Don't submit pictures you've drawn before, please~ For me or anyone else.
Please post links to your pictures in the thread. ^^ If it's not too much trouble, also describe the mediums you used. : ) Please only post a link to your picture once!
If you and a friend want to draw a picture together, that's great! But, both of you should post together (only one of you needs to include the picture) and if your picture wins a prize, you will need to decide for yourselves how to split the prize, as well as who receives the trade(s).
If you have any questions about the contest, rules/policies, etc, you can post them here. If you don't receive an answer in a day or two feel free to PM me.

I will be judging all of the entries. In most categories that involve other people, the other people in the entry will also judge pictures in that category. For example, for the Sky/Wolfie/toto category, all three of us will be judges for images in that category. This, most obviously, does not apply to the Sky/You category.
I want you to have fun with this, so if there is something I can do to help you out, please post about it. ^^
As the contest goes on, additional categories may be added. This really depends on the turn-out and my fundings.
As the title suggests, this is my first art contest! So I don't know what to expect! Suprise me ^^

Solo Pictures Category

* This is called the Solo Pictures Category simply because I'm not expecting group pictures of myself with friends or other users. Your pictures can most definitely include other users, even NPCs, as long as my character is in the proper category's outfit. Being the main focus of the picture is a big plus if you decide to draw multiple avatars.

::: Chaplain :::

This is one of my oldest outfits, updated occasionally with new pants, gloves, added the belt, ecetera. It was designed after the outfits many christian clergymen wear, with the clergy's collar. I have no religious or moral intention or motivation with this outfit, I simply like the way it looks.

I generally try to be a happy person, especially around my friends, but I suppose that when I'm by myself I like to listen to music and think about my life and countless other things. I like to daydream and stare at clouds, beautiful scenes of nature (forests, parks, mountain ranges, waterfalls, beaches, etc), or look at architecture. I hope that gives you an idea of something you could draw!

The jacket is not a trench coat, it only goes down to my butt or so. (If you plan on drawing more than a simple bust.) It's relatively thin and made out of relaxed and natural material, rather than something tough like leather. You can draw me with or without the coat, but if you draw me without the coat, the shirt underneath is long-sleeved.

For a good example of what I'm saying about the jacket, you can view this picture my friend Moonblossom drew for me in 2004. It is a good example of the size of the jacket relative to my character's body. You don't have to match this perfectly; I just thought it would be best to provide more info. ^^ Also, I typically find that this jacket is unbuttoned (if they even have buttons!), so I'd like it drawn that way too.

Also, my avatar is wearing gloves, the kind that are missing the tips of the fingers, but drawing them in your image is optional. I admit I don't have any good ideas for poses for this outfit. ^_^; As I said earlier, the purpose of this outfit isn't religious in origin, so praying or religious themes aren't really wanted.

::: OMGNinja Bunny :::

This is one of my favorite outfits/characters. I'm not sure why. I created it during Halloween 2004, and it has grown much over time! Especially since I've been watching Naruto. X3

For this character I am mostly looking for serious/dramatic pictures, and some action/dynamic pictures as well. Here's a really neat image A_Mali gave me last year. (I have since lost the beard/mustache/eyepatch xD. The picture was drawn by Foxxe) When I say serious/dramatic, I mean like, standing on a mountain ledge overlooking an area, or meditating sitting on the roof of some large building; something like that. When I say action/dynamic pictures, I mean images of this character jumping, running, training, or even fighting if you want. Anything a cool ninja would do! biggrin He should always be drawn with atleast one coco and one kiki. Including more cocos/kikis would be great too. The white fox and mochi puppy are optional.

Also, you do not need to draw the specific musketeer pants/top either. These are just make-shift ninja items I have equipped until official ninja items are released (and assuming I like them). So, if you want to get creative and draw something more ninja-like, feel free to! As long as it's black it's fine. The only real musts are the headgear items: The OMG, bunny ears, the kitsune mask, and ninja headband item.

And while this is not specifically a Naruto fan character, it could very easily be adapted into one. So, if you want to add any sort of Naruto-esque flare or spin to it, his forehead protector should have the Gaia wing on it, and he is a skilled kuchiyose (summon) and taijutsu user (roughly at the jonin level. In my FFT Status Page for this character, I made him a Tokubetsu Jonin, which can be considered slightly less in rank than general Jonin). You can draw the forehead protector in either the slanted kakashi style or in its "normal" position. Also, draw the kitsune mask like an ANBU mask, but since each ANBU member has his or her own mask style, you can come up with your own for my mask.

If you don't like Naruto or don't have a clue about it, that's perfectly fine. He's still a Gaia character, so you can still draw him as just any ol' avatar. ^^ And while I originally said that I am mostly looking for serious/dramatic images with this character, the occasional cute/comical one is okay too. : )

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to say that when you drawing the animals, they can be plushies/"as-is" on Gaia, or they can be real animals. That's up to you!

::: Casual Wear :::

This is an outfit I made some time ago, after a user donated this rough stratus jacket to me. I like the way it looks, but the name also rather fits my username, if you're familiar with its origins. X3

With this outfit, the halo is optional. The jacket should be tough, and look rather worn. Not necessarily extremely dirty, but the occasional nick/scratch/tear and sand-worn spots may be evident. If Gaia were an anime and I was a character, this is probably what I would be wearing. (Anime characters never change their clothes, don'tchaknow?) I think of Gaia as a very metropolitan/modern place, much like Durem and Aekea, but as a person who enjoys nature I imagine I would often travel to Barton Town and Gambino, and just out in the wilderness, if I had the time. So, scenic pictures of various Gaia places would be great. Maybe visiting Sasha, Moira, Becky, or Cindy in their respective shops/places. heart (That's just a suggestion, not a requirement.)

::: God of Kikiz :::

This is just a for-fun category xD I don't remember why I made this outfit. I loved the release of the kiki kitties and I guess this was to celebrate them!

The best example of this outfit was drawn by my friend Kilani, you can see it here. It is also the background of my profile most of the time. Another cute example was drawn by my friend totorochic. Yours doesn't have to be a chibi; they are simply examples.

As for poses or situations, use your imagination! He can be floating in the clouds like the example picture I showed, or he can be on the ground bending the human race to his will! domokun Whatever works for you biggrin Your picture must include atleast one kiki, but the more the merrier, no?

We don't really have a theme in mind, but Wolfie and toto are mischevious, shifty types! xp xp Okay, I'm just teasing them~ They do like to pick on me, however! In various ways! stare But, I still luffs them to death. So, pictures with us all having fun together, or with the two of them picking on me in some way would probably work out very well! xD

Yes, my outfit in this set is the same as my God of Kikiz solo outfit. Also, totorochic's character has light brown/hazel eyes, but you can also draw them as blue if you want to.

Moonblossom is definitely no stranger to art, but fubenkunai needs some love too! So, draw the three of us hanging out and having fun biggrin

A suggestion for a scene could be a picnic! out at the beach or at a park. Moonie and fuben are mischevious >__> So if you come up with some cute ideas for hilarious hijinks, bring them on! >:O

For details, Moonblossom would like to note that her eyes are in fact grey, and when drawing her she should either be wearing portable headphones, or if you decide not to draw the headphones, she should have elf ears. Not 'normal human' ears. If you do draw the headphones, then don't draw her ears underneath. Also, if you know Moonblossom or perhaps have drawn for her before, you can draw her in a different outfit if it will suit your picture better!
As for fubenkunai, her eyes are also grey.
The details for my avatar are similar to the description for my Casual Wear solo category; my jacket should be rather rough and beaten up, because I've had it for a long time and would likely wear it often. The halo is optional here as well.

As for what kind of things to draw.. once again, I don't know! xD; You can draw me in either my chaplain uniform, my God of Kikiz outfit, or my relaxed outfit from the Sky + fuben + Moonblossom category above. If you draw me in the God of Kikiz outfit, please make sure I have atleast one kiki of my own! X3

Details for Dri's outfit are to remember to draw her shirt long enough to cover her tummy. She'd rather not have her belly button exposed, because she doesn't want to be drawn 'sexy', even if she is ;O

This is a fun category! Basically, you draw me and yourself together! Hanging out, playing a game, playing a sport, watching a movie, whatever! Any outfit I have in this contest, or even my current easter avatar, is up for grabs! As long as it's not too violent or sexual, it's probably good to go! ^^ It doesn't just have to be yourself, either. It can be a group of your friends as well. : )
