User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Welcome to the land of Clamkins! The name's Clare, the official representative for the Clamkin race. No, I'm not a Clamkin myself, but somebody has to speak for them. They certainly can't!

What exactly is a Clamkin, you ask? That's a little complicated to explain. So far as I can tell, they're a race of shelled, salt-water dwellers that have evolved from... well... clams. Like people, they have a myriad of moods and personalities. They're hardy creatures, but can't survive outside of a watery environment. They love to dress up, and you'll find some have very exacting tastes.

Sadly, these ones here have had their home destroyed by drought, so I'm doing my best to find them new ones. We could sure use your help. For a small fee, I'll provide you with everything you'll need to take care of your Clamkin. Sound good? Fantastic! I'll let you have a look around. Maybe you'll get lucky and find your ideal clammate!

September 27, 2006 :: The store is still open! There's simply been a slow down in activity thanks to work. Still here and still taking order, though! New items will eventually be added.
July 16 :: Please check out section 9 before taking the new poll; we've added the option of creating both stationary and animated avatar bumps! I'm thinking of permanently adding bump images/signs to the roster. If they're well received, I'll expand frame designs.
June 01 :: Seven new items are now up, as well as two brand new expressions for your Clamkin to wear.
:: All posters on page 100 of the store thread will be allowed one free Clamkin of their choosing, including from available limiteds!
:: June 26th is IcyClare's birthday. To celebrate on June 26th, from 12am to 11:59pm, all Clamkins will be free, no matter how many are ordered, including from available limiteds!

April 13, 2006 :: Lord of the Rings Oddies are here! Choose to adopt one of five cute little characters, or indulge in pixel-sized romance with Aragorn and Arwen. These Clamkins will be available until May 7th.
New items are in the works for Standard Clamkins. Expect a scholarly theme to be released next week.
April 06, 2006 :: The Easter Oddies are a hit. Hooray! Only 16 of 25 of these special little Clamkins are left. They'll be retired at midnight, April 30th, so adopt yours today.
The new Special Item has been released! The April Showers Brolly will be available for ten orders only, and will be retired on April 21st.
A new standard item has also been released. Check out the Large Leaf. It makes a nifty hat, or a cute little decorative addition to the Fop Hats.
April 05, 2006 :: Easter Limiteds are here! Find them in the Clamkin Oddies section.

Rules

i) If it's against Gaia's rules, it's against IcyClare's.
ii) No claiming Clamkins as your own creation.
iii) No altering your Clamkin in any way. This includes removal of IcyClare's name.
iv) Be civil and respectful of those in the thread at all times. You don't have to like everyone, but you can make the effort to get along.
v) Please try to avoid 'net speak (l33t speak). It's irritating and deader than Ogam.
vi) Do not stretch out the page! This, too, is irritating.
vii) Do not PM your order to IcyClare unless you've been specifically asked to by her.
viii) Co-owning is currently not an option.
ix) Please save your Clamkin to your own webspace. I will host for a short period of time (two days to a week), and then it will come down. I will not be held responsible for those who can't read the rules.
x) When naming your pet, please think of appropriate names. For example, 'PoopFace' might be amusing, but it's not appropriate.
xi) No harrassing IcyClare about your Clamkin. Standard or Special Item Clamkins will be ready within 24hrs. Custom Clamkins might take anywhere from 24hrs to one week. PMs will be sent out if timelines can't be met.
xii) Please don't advertise your shops, guilds, etc, inside this thread. If it comes up in conversation, that's fine. If you're just here to leave an advert and then run, you'll be promptly reported as spam.
xiii) IcyClare reserves the right to refuse sales at her discretion. If a trade has already started and IcyClare decides to cancel the sale before the Clamkin has been completed, it will be canceled so all funds are returned in full.
xiv) Those who break the rules are put on the Black List and will no longer be welcome in this thread.

FAQ


Q: What happened to my Clamkin? A broken picture shows up whenever I try to look at it.
A: Did you save it to your own space and link to it from there? If you're using the URL I PM'd to you when delivering your finished pet, this is called "direct linking" and I no longer offer that option for people unless they have asked. If you didn't save your Clamkin to your desktop/own webspace, then you are out of luck! I will charge 500g to remake ANY lost Clamkin because you couldn't follow the rules.

Q: You've redesigned ____, and I like it better than the old one. Do I have to pay to have it changed on my Clamkin?
A: Not at all! Just send me a PM with your Clamkin's name, and the item you want switched over.

Q: I liked the old design you had for _____. Can I still order it?
A: Not in a standard order, no. I've deleted the old items to save myself confusion. However, a custom order will get you just about anything made.

Q: Do I have to use an order form if I want a Clamkin? Can't I just put what I want?
A: You MUST use an order form for ALL orders, with the exception of custom orders. I will ignore orders that don't use the order form from now on.

Q: I posted my order, and I'm waiting to see my Clamkin. Where is it?
A: Did you start a trade with me to let me know you're serious? If you don't start the trade, I don't start working on your Clamkin.

Q: Who staffs this place, anyway?
A: Just me. Right now, it's more than enough.

Q: Why Clamkins?
A: Because I love making them. They're so cute and so darn much fun to make things for.

Q: Why sell them?
A: Because I'm questing (see my quest section). Because they're too much work to just give away to everyone, but I still wanted to share them. Because ChaosKirin told me to!

Q: Can I bump your thread?
A: By all means!

Q: I love that new item. Can I add it to my existing Clamkin?
A: So long as yours isn't an Oddie, you sure can! Adding to existing customs are a case by case basis, however.

Q: Can I order multiple Clamkins in one order post?
A: You sure can! Just make sure you're filling out a separate form for each Clamkin that you're ordering.

Q: Can I gift a Clamkin to someone?
A: You bet! On the order form, put their name under 'owner'. I will PM the completed order to both you and your giftee.

Q: How much does it cost to add or substitute an item already on my finished Clamkin?
A: If it's a one-to-one exchange, I'll do it for free. If you're adding and not taking anything off, it's just 10g for the item you're adding.

Q: Can I have a free Clamkin?
A: Hell no! I'm confident my Clamkins are reasonably priced for the work I put into each one I make. However, if you're short on gold and have other skills... Feel free to PM me about item trades (I love tickets!), avi edits, avi art, fan art, pet trades or something else that's interesting and unique. Also, feel free to check out my Chrono Cross Plushie Quest. I will trade custom Clamkins for anyone able to help me out with it.

Q: You've mentioned customs a few times around the store. How can I get one?
A: Send a PM! Depending on whether I'm just altering existing items (10g per customized item), or creating them from scratch (50g-100g per item), the prices will fluxuate. I reserve the right to refuse the order if it's outside the realm of my ability or time constraints.

Q: I have some questions you haven't answered.
A: Great! Either send me a PM or ask here in the thread. I'm generally on every day (mostly evenings since I work a lot), so you can be guarenteed that I'll get back to you somewhat promptly.

i) When ordering, please choose the appropriate form or use a variation of it. Copy only the form, (not the whole post) and paste into a new reply to this thread. Do not PM orders.
ii) Be sure to clearly indicate which item you want. Leave the space blank if there's something you do not want, or delete the item line entirely. See the example order form for help.
iii) Once you've posted your order, please send a trade with the appropriate amount of gold to IcyClare and the page that your order is on.
iv) When the Clamkin is complete, she will PM you a link to your new pet and accept the trade.
v) Please complete the trade and save the Clamkin to your own space. You have 48hrs. If you're going to be offline for more than two days anytime near the time you place your order (ie: you're going out of town), please tell IcyClare so that she can hold your Clamkin until you return.

Quest 02 :: Chrono Cross Plushies

I'm in love with the Playstation game Chrono Cross. I have played it through a grand total of thirty-two times. I wish I was exaggerating. I've also seen a lack of Chrono Cross adoptables, etc, in the Mini-Shops. I have decided that I would like to commission various talented artists to create plushies of the playable characters in Chrono Cross. It will be a tall, costly order, but I intend to complete it!

I'm a picky panda when it comes to art. Artists I admire greatly are Blumchen, Westbaylen, ChaosKirin and Mlisubaru to name a few. I don't always look for clean lineart and perfect colouring. I love my art to have personality and so that's what I look for before offering or accepting an artist's commission. Pixel art is also just awesome, so I won't say no to some truly awesome pixel dolls. I base my pricing for Sealeds and Thank You Letters on the average lowest price in the Market Place.
