This is basically where the DDR fans and the ITG fans can debate which release will be the bigger red carpet debut, and which will be left in the dust. Go ahead, it's a debate, but follow the rules. Enjoy!
EDIT: PLEASE do not say something like "Go DDR SuperNOVA!!" or "ITG all the way!!" and leave. That's what the poll is for. If you choose to post something, be prepared to rebuttle against any statements/comments made on your original statement. Thanks.

In regards to the whole ITG3 vs. Supernova thing, here's my take.

DDR is primarily aimed at the casual player -- hence the focus on 6-7 level Heavy stepcharts. Sure, there are the boss songs (the 10-footers), but there really isn't a whole lot of them. It's definately the game for those getting started in a dance game, as it's nowhere near as intimidating as ITG is. Therefore, if an arcade wants to attract new customers, DDR is definately a safe bet. Another benefit of DDR is the music. DDR has more recognizable tunes than ITG, and the quality of music is better. ITG2 has definately improved from ITG1 in this regard, but the vast licenses available from Konami's Bemani games and the Dancemania label are hard to beat.

ITG, on the other hand, is geared more towards the veterans -- those that have been playing DDR for years and have gotten bored with Extreme (and/or who can AAA anything on command). Sure, ITG2 has its Novice and Easy stepcharts, but the focus is on Expert songs, with emphasis on tricky step patterns, and tricks like hands and rolls. I can almost guarantee you that if a player who had never tried a dancing game saw someone getting a * (96%) on Pandemonium Expert, they wouldn't want to go NEAR the game.

I do enjoy both, but until Supernova comes out, I'm sticking with ITG2 sincce I've gotten bored with Extreme (even though I can't AAA anything -- I've just played through all the songs enough that I'm tired of them).

He has a great point. Use this to get started. This comment is in the Dance Dance Revolution thread, and I think it'd be great to get this thread going. The quote was submitted by DJ Devo. Thanks!
I think SN would be way better than ITG3. Don't get me wrong, I love ITG, but DDR's steps doesn't focus on you hurting yourself in the process. While the ZOMG steps in ITG are great for playing on StepMania, I can't see it possible on pad. It might be, but it would take a lot of excess energy to accomplish.

Also, DDR have a more variety of music. Their music sounds very mature compared to ITG. I've just seen the songlist for SN a couple of days ago, and I can tell you that it's going to be great. I've heard some of the songs over in IIDX, and they can only be described as one word awesome.

Great point. I agree here. ITG's steps are way too complex for the beginner, which would make DDR the "noob-friendly" choice, and would definitely attract more customers. Also, you're right there. ITG's sound quality compared to DDR's is somewhat lacking, if you know what I mean. To add onto your point, Beatmania IIDX songs are confirmed on the DDR SuperNOVA list, which would mean that Beatmania fans JUST MIGHT make the transfer to DDR to play their favourite songs.

EDIT: Here's a link to the confirmed song list so far: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_Revolution_SuperNOVA_song_list

Hm. I disagree. I'll prove my point, but this IS a DDRSN vs. ITG3 thread, not a DDR vs. DDR thread. Take it elsewhere. Anyways, DDRSN is confirmed to have a song list of +300 songs, and revamped character models. This is the newest arcade mix and many of us are saying "it's about time." Sure, DDREX2 may be an okay game, but I, along with many others would agree with me that DDRSN will do much better than DDREX2 will ever be able to measure up to, even if they tried to re-release it.
I love both games, but i must say ITG > DDR xp
It's much more fun and the songs are noticably longer. Some may disagree when i say ITG has better songs, but that is just my opinion. But i can understand why non-veteran players are intimidated by ITG. Even some DDR pros get intimidated with songs like Summer -speedy mix- and Pandemonium expert (like me XD) but i still enjoy playing it. I am just dissappointed because the nearest ITG2 machine is about an hour away so i rarely get to play it, but i play DDR everyday because i live about 10 minutes away from the arcade XD
