Hello everyone, and welcome to my new little charity thread! I used to run a fishing charity, but I decided to branch out a bit and make a new charity thread that offers sealed letters to new Gaians. And so here it is, Sisky's Seal-eds Charity for newer Gaians. Each month 8 lucky Gaians will each receive a sealed envelope/donation letter for the month in which they win! I hope it proves to be a fun and fabulous charity! Please be sure to read all the rules before applying. Enjoy!

** Please note that this charity will be going on hiatus/temporarily closing after tonight's April 9th, 2006 drawing for the sealed envelopes. No more entries for this week's or future drawings will be accepted after 8:30pm MST, April 9th, 2006, which is the deadline for this week's drawing. This shouldn't be a problem as nobody will have entered the next contest yet, and the winners for this week will have been randomly selected and given their prizes. Hopefully this will be up and running again soon- just need to tweak it a bit. Thanks for all your support <3 **

Alrighty, on to the rules and guidelines for this charity. Please be sure to read these all before applying. Anyone breaking these rules forfeits his/her application.

1) Every week I will make a random selection of two applicants and give each winning applicant one sealed envelope or, if they have become unsealed, a monthly donation letter. This makes a total of 8 sealed letters/donation letters for 8 Gaians each month. All sealeds/letters will only be for the month in which you apply. For example, if you apply in March 2006, and win, you will recieve the sealed envelope/donation letter for March 2006. Donation letters older than March 2006 will not be given out. The only time an older letter will be given out is in the event that the drawing occurs during a week before sealed envelopes are released. Should this occur, you will win the donation letter for the previous month. For example, lets say the drawing for the first week of April 2006 occurs, but April 2006 sealed envelopes have not been released yet. In this case, the winners will receive the March 2006 donation letter.

2)This is a charity for newer Gaians, therefore, the only applicants who may apply are members who joined within 1 month of the application date. You must only have been on Gaia for 1 month or less to be eligible for a free sealed letter/donation letter. Any account older than exactly 1 month is ineligible.


3) You must use your main account when applying- mule (or secondary) accounts cannot enter. If you use a mule account to enter this contest and I find out it is a mule, both the mule and the main account will be disqualified from this charity and any subsequent charities I make. If you have won the charity prize and I find out you used a mule, you agree to return the letter donated to you by this charity. This charity is to give a helping hand to our newer members, not to satisfy greedy people- we all know how tough it can be to start out on Gaia.

5) You may only win the charity prize one time- after that, it is just someone else's turn to get treats biggrin


6 ) If you do not get picked one week, you are free to enter again, and keep entering until your account is 1 month old. After 1 month on Gaia, you are not eligible for this charity. Also, please note that while there are guaranteed donations for lucky users every week as long as this charity is open, it doesn't mean specifically that you will ever be chosen.


7) Selecting who gets a sealed envelope/donation letterwill be a matter of luck. The order in which you apply for a charitable donation will be your assigned number. For example, if you are the fifth person to post an application, you will be assigned the number 5. At the end of the week, I will use the Gaia random number generator to pick two numbers from the total set of assigned numbers. So, for example, lets say I get 50 applications, each application will be assigned a sequential number from 1-50 in the order in which is was posted. I will then use the random number generator to pick two numbers between 1-50. Whichever numbers it randomly chooses will be the recipients of the charitable donation. If for some reason the same number is picked twice, the second same number will be dismissed, and another random number selection will occur until a different number is picked.


8 ) You are free to say hello in this thread, and be social, and you are allowed to bump this thread if it falls off the first 2 pages of the Charity threads, but no spamming for gold, or any such nonsense of that sort will be tolerated. Spamming for gold only belongs in the Chatterbox. Anyone spamming for gold will be disqualified from any future donation drawings. Also, no blank post bumps in this thread- posts that say nothing will be considered spamming and you will be disqualified.


9) You will be respectiful of others in this thread- you will not flame them or harass them. This is supposed to be a happy place- lets keep it that way. You are also not to harass someone that wins the donation or beg them for it. Anyone caught doing so in the thread will be disqualified from all future donation drawings.


10) This charity is free for all applicants, and is being funded only by myself. I will pay for all items on my own. No need to offer donations- this is just something I want to do to give back to the users heart


11) These rules may change as I see the need; in applying, you agree to follow all rules as they are written at the time of application and agree to any subsequent changes to rules.


12) Should I ever need to permanently close this charity, I will make an announcement in the first post, stop accepting applications, and have one final drawing for all the users who submitted applications prior to my announcing the closing. If I have to temporarily close down, the same arrangements will be made prior to my absence.

Please note that after the April 2nd, 2006 drawing for the donation letters I will be changing the rules of the contest somewhat. I see people applying that are wearing a hundred thousand gold worth of items already. Apparantly things have changed since I was first on Gaia, because 3 months seems to be long enough for many people to have amassed a lot of items. The point of this charity is to help people who have little to no items- to give them a kickstart on Gaia. After April 2nd, 2006, only users whose accounts are 1 month old exactly or less will be eligible for this charity. Just warning you in advance! Thanks biggrin
